Effect of coal levels during direct reduction roasting of high phosphorus oolitic hematite ore in a tunnel kiln显示文摘The effect of coal levels on phosphorus removal from a high phosphorus oolitic hematite ore after direct reduction roasting have been investigated. Raw ore, coal, and a dephosphorization agent were mixed and the mixture was then roasted in a tunnel kiln. The roasted products were treated by two stages of grinding followed by magnetic separation. XRD and SEM-EDS examination of the products was used to analyze differences in the roasted products. The results show that coal is one of the most important factors affecting the direct reduction roasting process. When the inner coal levels increased from 0% to 15% the iron grade decreased linearly from 94.94% to 88.81% and the iron recovery increased from 55.94% to 92.94%. At the same time the phosphorus content increased from 0.045% to 0.231%. Increasing the inner coal levels also caused more hematite to be reduced to metallic iron but the oolitic structure of the roasted product was preserved in the presence of high coal loading. The phase of the phosphorus in raw ore was not changed after direct reduction roasting. The effect of coal on the phosphorus content in the H-concentrate arises from changes in the difficulty of mechanically liberating the metallic iron from the phosphorus bearing minerals. | Li Yongli Sun Tichang Zou Anhua Xu Chengyan | 2012 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2012,22,3: | 22
Efficacy and safety of metformin and sitagliptin based triple antihyperglycemic therapy(STRATEGY):a multicenter,randomized,controlled,non-inferiority clinical trial显示文摘Despite the current guideline's recommendation of a timely stepwise intensification therapy, the 'clinical inertia',termed as the delayed treatment intensification, commonly exists in the real world, which may be partly due to the relatively little substantial evidence and no clear consensus regarding the efficacy and safety of triple oral agents in patients inadequately controlled with dual therapy. In this clinical trial performed in 237 centers in China,5,535 type 2 diabetic patients inadequately controlled by previous therapies were treated with a stable metformin/sitagliptin dual therapy for 20 weeks. The patients who did not reach the glycated hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c) goal were then further randomized into glimepiride, gliclazide, repaglinide,or acarbose group for an additional 24-week triple therapy.A mean HbAlc reduction of 0.85%was observed when sitagliptin was added to the patients inadequately controlled with metformin in 16 weeks.Further HbAlc reductions in the 24-week triple therapy stage were 0.65%in glimepiride group,0.70%in gliclazide group,0.61%in repaglinide group, and 0.45%in acarbose group. The non-inferiority criterion for primary hypotheses was met for gliclazide and repaglinide, but not for acarbose, compared with glimepiride, when added to metformin/sitagliptin dual therapy. The incidences of adverse events(AEs) were 29.2%in the dual therapy stage and30.3%in the triple therapy stage.Metformin/sitagliptin as baseline therapy, with the addition of a third oral antihyperglycemic agent, including glimepiride, gliclazide, repaglinide,or acarbose, was effective, safe and well-tolerated for achieving an HbAlc<7.0%goal in type 2 diabetic patients inadequately controlled with previous therapies. The timely augmentation of up to three oral antihyperglycemic agents is valid and of important clinical benefit to prevent patients from exposure to unnecessarily prolonged hyperglycemia. | Wen Xu Yiming Mu Jiajun Zhao Dalong Zhu Qiuhe Ji Zhiguang Zhou Bin Yao Anhua Mao Samuel S.Engel Bin Zhao Yan Bi Longyi Zeng Xingwu Ran Juming Lu Linong Ji Wenying Yang Weiping Jia Jianping Weng | 2017 | Science China(Life Sciences)2017,60,3: | 19

LIN28 coordinately promotes nucleolar/ribosomal functions and represses the 2C-like transcriptional program in pluripotent stem cells显示文摘LIN28 is an RNA binding protein with important roles in early embryo development, stem cell differentiation/re-programming,tumorigenesis and metabolism.Previous studies have focused mainly on its role in the cytosol where it interacts with Let-7 microRNA precursors or mRNAs,and few have addressed LIN28's role within the nucleus. Here,we show that LIN28 displays dynamic temporal and spatial expression during murine embryo development.Maternal LIN28 expression drops upon exit from the 2-cell stage, and zygotic LIN28 protein is induced at the forming nucleolus during 4-cell to blas-tocyst stage development,to become dominantly expressed in the cytosol after implantation. In cultured pluripotent stem cells(PSCs),loss of LIN28 led to nucleolar stress and activation of a 2-cell/4-cell-like transcriptional program characterized by the expression of endogenous retrovirus genes.Mechanistically,LIN28 binds to small nucleolar RNAs and rRNA to maintain nucleolar integrity, and its loss leads to nucleolar phase separation defects, ribosomal stress and activation of P53 which in turn binds to and activates 2C transcription factor Dux.LIN28 also resides in a complex containing the nucleolar factor Nucleolin(NCL)and the transcrip-tional repressor TRIM28,and LIN28 loss leads to reduced occupancy of the NCL/TRIM28 complex on the Dux and rDNA loci, and thus de-repressed Dux and reduced rRNA expression.Lin28 knockout cells with nucleolar stress are more likely to assume a slowly cycling, translationally inert and anabolically inactive state, which is a part of previously unappreciated 2C-like transcriptional program. These findings elucidate novel roles for nucleolar LIN28 in PSCs,and a new mechanism linking 2C program and nucleolar functions in PSCs and early embryo development. | Zhen Sun Hua Yu Jing Zhao Tianyu Tan Hongru Pan Yuqing Zhu Lang Chen Cheng Zhang Li Zhang Anhua Lei Yuyan Xu Xianju Bi Xin Huang Bo Gao Longfei Wang Cristina Correia Ming Chen Qiming Sun Yu Feng Li Shen Hao Wu Jianlong Wang Xiaohua Shen George Q.Daley Hu Li Jin Zhang | 2022 | Protein & Cell2022,13,7: | 4
CsWAKL08,a pathogen-induced wall-associated receptor-like kinase in sweet orange, confers resistance to citrus bacterial canker via ROS control and JA signaling显示文摘Citrus bacterial canker(CBC)is a disease resulting from Xanthomonas citri subsp.citri(Xcc)infection and poses a grave threat to citrus production worldwide.Wall-associated receptor-like kinases(WAKLs)are proteins with a central role in resisting a range of fungal and bacterial diseases. The roles of WAKLs in the context of CBC resistance, however, remain unclear. Here,we explored the role of CsWAKL08,which confers resistance to CBC,and we additionally analyzed the molecular mechanisms of CsWAKL08-mediated CBC resistance.Based on systematic annotation and induced expression analysis of the CsWAKL family in Citrus sinensis,CsWAKL08 was identified as a candidate that can be upregulated by Xcc infection in the CBC-resistant variety.CsWAKL08 can also be induced by the phytohormones salicylic acid(SA)and methyl jasmonic acid(MeJA)and spans the plasma membrane.Overexpression of CsWAKL08 resulted in strong CBC resistance in transgenic sweet oranges, whereas silencing of CsWAKL08 resulted in susceptibility to CBC.The peroxidase(POD)and superoxide dismutase(SOD)activities were significantly enhanced in the CsWAKL08-overexpressing plants compared to the control plants, thereby mediating reactive oxygen species(ROS)homeostasis in the transgenic plants. Moreover, the JA levels and the expression of JA biosynthesis and JA responsive genes were substantially elevated in the CsWAKL08 overexpression plants relative to the controls upon Xcc infection.Based on these findings,we conclude that the wall-associated receptor-like kinase CsWAKL08 positively regulates CBC resistance through a mechanism involving ROS control and JA signaling. These results further highlight the importance of this kinase family in plant pathogen resistance. | Qiang Li Anhua Hu Jingjing Qi Wanfu Dou Xiujuan Qin Xiuping Zou Lanzhen Xu Shanchun Chen Yongrui He | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 3
Reinforcement effects of ground treatment with dynamic compaction replacement in cold and saline soil regions显示文摘The mechanical property of saline soils varies with moisture and climate in the cold and salt lake region of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, which influences project construction. In order to improve foundation reinforcement effect of the Qarhan-Golmud Highway, Qinghai Province, China, dynamic compaction replacement (DCR) composite foundation was applied in saline soils. A field experiment was conducted in this area, where strength and working mechanism of pier-soil and deformation modulus of the composite foundation was analyzed after reinforcement. This paper presents methods for determining the coefficient on the bearing capacity evaluation and deformation modulus of composite foundation with DCR. Reinforcement case of DCR is highly effective in saline soils of the salt lake regions, which helps the migration of water and salt in saline soils. | Yu Zhang JianKun Liu JianHong Fang AnHua Xu | 2013 | Research in Cold and Arid Regions2013,5,4: | 2

Research progress on flavonoids from the roots of Sophora flavescens Alt.and their biological activities显示文摘Sophora flavescens Alt.,a perennial herb of Sophora in Leguminosae family, was widely distributed in the north and south of China. Its root is utilized as a traditional Chinese medicine to clear heat, drain dampness, kill insect and promote urination by virtue of bitter and cold. Its chemical components are complex and diverse, mainly including alkaloids and flavonoids.Modern pharmacological studies have found that prenylflavonoids and quinolicidine alkaloids are the characteristic chemical constituents and the main active ingredients, with anti-inflammatory,anti-tumor,anti-oxidation,and other various biological activities. This study reviewed the chemical constituents of S.flavescens and the pharmacological effects of flavonoids in it in order to provide reference for further development. | Guoqing Long Jue Wang Dongyu Min Yang Xu Jingming Jia Anhua Wang | 2021 | Asian Journal of Traditional Medicines2021,16,6: | 1
Characteristics and changes of permafrost along the engineering corridor of National Highway 214 in the eastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau显示文摘Due to a series of linear projects built along National Highway 214,the second'Permafrost Engineering Corridor'on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau has formed. In this paper,by overcoming the problems of data decentralization and standard inconsistency, permafrost characteristics and changes along the engineering corridor are systematically summarized based on the survey and monitoring data. The results show that:1)Being controlled by elevation, the permafrost is distributed in flake discontinuity with mountains as the center along the line. The total length of the road section in permafrost regions is 365 km,of which the total length of the permafrost section of National Highway 214 is 216.7 km,and the total length of the permafrost section of Gong-Yu Expressway is 197.3 km.The mean annual ground temperature(MAGT)is higher than−1.5℃,and permafrost with MAGT lower than−1.5℃ is only distributed in the sections at Bayan Har Mountain and E'la Mountain. There are obvious differences in the distribution of ground ice in the different sections along the engineering corridor. The sections with high ice content are mainly located in Zuimatan,Duogerong Plain and the top of north and south slope of Bayan Har Mountain. The permafrost thickness is controlled by the ground temperature, and permafrost thickness increases with the decrease of the ground temperature, with the change rate of about 37 m/℃.2)Local factors(topography, landform, vegetation and lithology)affect the degradation process of permafrost, and then affect the distribution, ground temperature, thickness and ice content of permafrost.Asphalt pavement has greatly changed the heat exchange balance of the original ground, resulting in serious degradation of the permafrost.Due to the influence of roadbed direction trend, the phenomenon of shady-sunny slope is very significant in most sections along the line. The warming range of permafrost under the roadbed is gradually smaller with the increase of depth,so the thawing settlement of the shallow section with high ice-content permafrost is more significant. | Yu Sheng JiChun Wu Wei Cao JianHong Fang AnHua Xu ErXing Peng | 2020 | Research in Cold and Arid Regions2020,12,6: | 1

Impact of brine on physical properties of saline soils显示文摘Engineering activities in the salt lake region continue to increase where fresh water resources are scarce. This paper investigates the physical properties of saline soils during mixing with brine.Fine-grained saline soils with salt content varying from 2.6%to 78.5%were collected along Qarhan-Golmud Highway(QGH)and Sebei-Qarhan Highway(SQH)on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to conduct laboratory physical properties tests.Liquid plastic limit tests were conducted. Results show that liquid plastic limit parameters will decrease with an increase of salt content ranging from 2.6% to 78.5%,and the relationship between them is linear. After considering the content ratio of chloride and sulfate, results show that liquid plastic limit parameters will decrease with an increase of the ratio of chloride to sulfate ranging from 0.7% to 7.0%;liquid plastic limit parameters enter a stable period at the ratio of chloride to sulfate ranging from 7.0% to 37.4%;liquid plastic limit parameters enter a decline period at the ratio of chloride to sulfate ranging from 37.4% to 77.2%.After brine and fresh water are separately mixed into saline soil, the optimal moisture content of the soil samples after the brine action is lower than the saline soil under the action of fresh water, and the maximum dry density of the soil sample is higher than that under the action of fresh water. At the same time, these changing laws show a certain correlation with the chloride ion content and the ratio of chloride to sulfate in saline soils. The results are of significance for engineering activities in salt lake regions with extensive saline soil distribution. | Yu Zhang Jie Liu AnHua Xu JianKun Liu ZhaoHui Yang JianHong Fang | 2021 | Research in Cold and Arid Regions2021,13,5: | 0
Discussion on the relationship between longitudinal cracks and alignment of subgrade in permafrost regions显示文摘At present, embankment longitudinal cracks are a major problem in highways through permafrost regions, and seriously affect traffic safety and the normal operations of the highway. In the past, roadbed height in permafrost regions was relatively low,and embankment cracks were rare and did not affect traffic safety. Thus, highway designers and researchers paid little attention to this problem, and they knew very little about distribution laws and mechanism of embankment longitudinal cracks.Due to this lack of knowledge, there is no uniform opinion on this problem, making it difficult to find measures that will mediate the impact of longitudinal cracks.Temperature is a major factor that affects and controls embankment stability in permafrost regions, especially in ice-rich and high-temperature regions, and solar radiation is the principal factor that determines surface temperatures.Under higher embankment, the difference of temperature will be larger between a sunny slope and a shady slope.Hence, the probability for longitudinal cracks generation is higher. In this paper,a survey and analysis of longitudinal cracks along the Qinghai-Tibet Highway were carried out.The longitudinal cracks are found to be related to the road strikes.Solar radiation is considered to play an important role in the generation of longitudinal cracks. | AnHua Xu | 2011 | Research in Cold and Arid Regions2011,3,2: | 0
