Comparison of Thermal Performance for Two Types of ETFP System under Various Operation Schemes显示文摘The earth to fluid pipe(ETFP)system has been widely applied to various energy engineering. The numerical model of the heat transfer process in the ETFP system with a shallow-buried horizontal or a deep-buried vertical U-shape pipe adopted in practical engineering was established and the model distinctions were pointed out.The comparison of the thermal performance between the two types of ETFP system under various schemes was conducted on the basis of numerical prediction. The results showed that the thermal parameters of the ETFP system with a shallow-buried horizontal pipe were influenced by the inlet velocity and ground temperature obviously. The variation of the fluid temperature was smooth and the thermal influence zone was limited under the fixed conditions. The proper intermittent operation scheme reduced 53.1%outlet fluid temperature rising.By contrast, the fluid temperature in the ETFP system with a deep-buried vertical U-shape pipe varied dramatically with the operation conditions. The intermittent operation scheme with a relatively short interval led to a less temperature fluctuation of soil around the pipe. The intermittent scheme is beneficial to the recovery of the thermal condition of soil around the U-shape pipe. These results indicated a stark difference in thermal performance between the two types of system. The study can provide guidance for the selection and operation of ETFP system in practical heat exchange engineering. | Lingtong Li Zaiguo Fu Benxiang Li Qunzhi Zhu | 2020 | Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2020,,7: | 1
The role of corneal endothelium in macular corneal dystrophy development and recurrence显示文摘Macular corneal dystrophy(MCD)is a progressive, bilateral stromal dystrophic disease that arises from mutations in carbohydrate sulfotransferase 6(CHST6).Corneal transplantation is the ultimate therapeutic solution for MCD patients.Unfortunately, postoperative recurrence remains a significant challenge. We conducted a retrospective review of a clinical cohort comprising 102 MCD patients with 124 eyes that underwent either penetrating keratoplasty(PKP)or deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty(DALK).Our results revealed that the recurrence rate was nearly three times higher in the DALK group(39.13%,9/23 eyes)compared with the PKP group(10.89%,11/101 eyes),suggesting that surgical replacement of the corneal endothelium for treating MCD is advisable to prevent postoperative recurrence. Our experimental data confirmed the robust m RNA and protein expression of CHST6 in human corneal endothelium and the rodent homolog CHST5 in mouse endothelium.Selective knockdown of wild-type Chst5 in mouse corneal endothelium(AC^(siChst5)),but not in the corneal stroma, induced experimental MCD with similar extracellular matrix synthesis impairments and corneal thinning as observed in MCD patients.Mice carrying Chst5 point mutation also recapitulated clinical phenotypes of MCD,along with corneal endothelial abnormalities.Intracameral injection of wild-type Chst5 rescued the corneal impairments in AC^(siChst5)mice and retarded the disease progression in Chst5 mutant mice.Overall, our study provides new mechanistic insights and therapeutic approaches for MCD treatment by highlighting the role of corneal endothelium in MCD development. | Bi-Ning Zhang Benxiang Qi Chunxiao Dong Bin Zhang Jun Cheng Xin Wang Suxia Li Xiaoyun Zhuang Shijiu Chen Haoyun Duan Dewei Li Sujie Zhu Guoyun Li Yihai Cao Qingjun Zhou Lixin Xie | 2024 | Science China(Life Sciences)2024,67,2: | 0
Experts consensus on the procedure of dental operative microscope in endodontics and operative dentistry显示文摘The dental operative microscope has been widely employed in the field of dentistry, particularly in endodontics and operative dentistry, resulting in significant advancements in the effectiveness of root canal therapy, endodontic surgery, and dental restoration. However, the improper use of this microscope continues to be common in clinical settings, primarily due to operators’insufficient understanding and proficiency in both the features and established operating procedures of this equipment. In October 2019,Professor Jingping Liang,Vice Chairman of the Society of Cariology and Endodontology,Chinese Stomatological Association, organized a consensus meeting with Chinese experts in endodontics and operative dentistry. The objective of this meeting was to establish a standard operation procedure for the dental operative microscope.Subsequently,a consensus was reached and officially issued.Over the span of about four years, the content of this consensus has been further developed and improved through practical experience. | Bin Liu Xuedong Zhou Lin Yue Benxiang Hou Qing Yu Bing Fan Xi Wei Lihong Qiu Zhengwei Huang Wenwei Xia Zhe Sun Hanguo Wang Liuyan Meng Bin Peng Chen Zhang Shuli Deng Zhaojie Lu Deqin Yang Tiezhou Hou Qianzhou Jiang Xiaoli Xie Xuejun Liu Jiyao Li Zuhua Wang Haipeng Lyu Ming Xue Jiuyu Ge Yi Du Jin Zhao Jingping Liang | 2023 | International Journal of Oral Science2023,15,3: | 0
Expert consensus on difficulty assessment of endodontic therapy显示文摘Endodontic diseases are a kind of chronic infectious oral disease. Common endodontic treatment concepts are based on the removal of inflamed or necrotic pulp tissue and the replacement by gutta-percha. However, it is very essential for endodontic treatment to debride the root canal system and prevent the root canal system from bacterial reinfection after root canal therapy(RCT). Recent research, encompassing bacterial etiology and advanced imaging techniques, contributes to our understanding of the root canal system’s anatomy intricacies and the technique sensitivity of RCT. Success in RCT hinges on factors like patients, infection severity, root canal anatomy, and treatment techniques. Therefore, improving disease management is a key issue to combat endodontic diseases and cure periapical lesions. The clinical difficulty assessment system of RCT is established based on patient conditions, tooth conditions, root canal configuration, and root canal needing retreatment, and emphasizes pre-treatment risk assessment for optimal outcomes. The findings suggest that the presence of risk factors may correlate with the challenge of achieving the high standard required for RCT. These insights contribute not only to improve education but also aid practitioners in treatment planning and referral decision-making within the field of endodontics. | Dingming Huang Xiaoyan Wang Jingping Liang Junqi Ling Zhuan Bian Qing Yu Benxiang Hou Xinmei Chen Jiyao Li Ling Ye Lei Cheng Xin Xu Tao Hu Hongkun Wu Bin Guo Qin Su Zhi Chen Lihong Qiu Wenxia Chen Xi Wei Zhengwei Huang Jinhua Yu Zhengmei Lin Qi Zhang Deqin Yang Jin Zhao Shuang Pan Jian Yang Jiayuan Wu Yihuai Pan Xiaoli Xie Shuli Deng Xiaojing Huang Lan Zhang Lin Yue Xuedong Zhou | 2024 | International Journal of Oral Science2024,16,1: | 0
Reconstructing the state space of chaotic BZ reaction system using power spectrum method显示文摘The BZ reaction in continuous-flow stirred tank reactor (CSTR) is selected, and the chaotic time series in low CSTR flow rates have been achieved. The power spectrum method (PSM) from physics and mathematics is introduced to compute the time delay %T%, the embedded dimension %m% so as to reconstruct the state space of the chaotic BZ reaction system by the time delayed coordinates. Further analysis and characterizations on the reconstructed chaotic attractor show that the results are in agreement with the references. It indicates that PSM is faster, simpler and reliable for processing the chaotic chemical system. | Yongjun Li Zunsheng Cai Yanni Li Dahai Song Hao Song Baomin Xi Keqin Ma Benxiang Wu Xuezhuang Zhao | 1998 | Chinese Science Bulletin1998,43,17: | 0
Genomic instability and eye diseases显示文摘Background:Genetic information is stored in the bases of double-stranded DNA.However, the integrity of DNA molecules is constantly threatened by various mutagenic agents, including pollutants, ultraviolet light(UV),and medications. To counteract these environmental damages, cells have established multiple mechanisms, such as producing molecules to identify and eliminate damaged DNA,as well as reconstruct the original DNA structures.Failure or insufficiency of these mechanisms can cause genetic instability. However, the role of genome stability in eye diseases is still under-researched,despite extensive study in cancer biology.Main text:As the eye is directly exposed to the external environment, the genetic materials of ocular cells are constantly under threat. Some of the proteins essential for DNA damage repair, such as pRb,p53,and RAD21,are also key during the ocular disease development. In this review,we discuss five ocular diseases that are associated with genomic instability.Retinoblastoma and pterygium are linked to abnormal cell cycles.Fuchs’corneal endothelial dystrophy and age-related macular degeneration are related to the accumulation of DNA damage caused by oxidative damage and UV.The mutation of the subunit of the cohesin complex during eye development is linked to sclerocornea. Conclusions:Failure of DNA damage detection or repair leads to increased genomic instability.Deciphering the role of genomic instability in ocular diseases can lead to the development of new treatments and strategies, such as protecting vulnerable cells from risk factors or intensifying damage to unwanted cells. | Hongyan Liu Jun Cheng Xiaoyun Zhuang Benxiang Qi Fenfen Li Bining Zhang | 2023 | Advances in Ophthalmology Practice and Research2023,3,3: | 0
