| 1 | Tailoring strength-ductility balance of caliber-rolled AZ31 Mg alloy through subsequent annealing显示文摘Recently,multi-pass caliber rolling has been shown to be effective for Mg alloys.This study investigated the effect of subsequent annealing on the mechanical properties of a caliber-rolled AZ31 Mg alloy to modulate the strength-ductility relationship.This annealing gave rise to different trends in mechanical properties depending on the temperature regime.Low-temperature annealing(T≤473 K)exhibited a typical trade-off relationship,where an increase in annealing temperature resulted in increased ductility but decreased strength and hardness.Such a heat treatment did not degrade the high strength-ductility balance of the caliber-rolled alloy,suggesting that the mechanical properties could be tailored for different potential applications.In contrast,high-temperature annealing(T>473 K)caused a simultaneous deterioration in strength,hardness,and ductility with increasing annealing temperature.These differences are discussed in terms of the varying microstructural features under the different investigated annealing regimes. | Taein Kong Byung Je Kwak Jonghyun Kim Jeong Hun Lee Sung Hyuk Park Ji Hoon Kim Young Hoon Moon Hyun Sik Yoon Taekyung Lee | 2020 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2020,8,1: | 10 |

| 3 | Increasing sulfur utilization in lithium-sulfur batteries by a Co-MOF-74@MWCNT interlayer显示文摘To improve lithium-sulfur battery performance,Co-MOF-74 has been applied for the first time as an interlayer with multiwalled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs).Co-MOF-74@MWCNT was synthesized using a solvothermal method.The fabrication of Co-MOF-74@MWCNT was confirmed by scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction,thermogravimetric analysis,and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller testing.The interlayer was fabricated using a filtration method.Assembled batteries were prepared using a CoMOF-74@MWCNT interlayer and an MWCNT interlayer and subsequently investigated via cyclic voltammetry tests.Co-MOF-74 promotes a redox reaction and shows a small peak at 1.85 V.A symmetric and full cell test revealed that the Co-MOF-74@MWCNT cell enables a faster redox reaction and higher capacity than that of the MWCNT cell.After 15 cycles,the Co-MOF-74@MWCNT cell achieved a value of 1112 mAh g^(-1),which is 26% greater than that of the MWCNT cell(880 mAh g^(-1)) at 0.2 C.Voltage profile testing showed that the reason for the higher capacity of the Co-MOF-74@MWCNT cell is that it promotes the conversion of Li_(2)S_(2) to Li_(2)S.Various electrochemical analyses confirmed that the Co-MOF-74@MWCNT interlayer acts not only as a physical and chemical barrier but also promotes the transformation of Li_(2)S_(2) to Li_(2)S. | SiHyeon Sung Byung Hyuk Kim SeungTaek Lee Sanghyeon Choi Woo Young Yoon | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,9: | 3 |
| 4 | In?uence of Carbon Equivalent Value on the Weld Bead Bending Properties of High-Strength Low-Alloy Steel Plates显示文摘The contribution of chemical compositions in terms of carbon equivalent value(CEV) on impending crack propagation during weld bead bend tests(WBBTs) was studied with ?ve different high-strength lowalloy steel plates that underwent different rolling processes. The test showed that cracks developed at the weld joint, easily passed through the coarse-grain heat-affected zone(CGHAZ), and ?nally were arrested within the heat-affected zone(HAZ). An apparent decrease in the average crack length, which consequently indicated improvement in crack arrestability, was found with decreasing CEV. In addition,the relatively ?ne microstructure in the HAZ of low-CEV steel plates helped in preventing the crack from further propagation. | 19 | Regeneration-associated macrophages: a novel approach to boost intrinsic regenerative capacity for axon regeneration显示文摘Axons in central nervous system(CNS) do not regenerate spontaneously after injuries such as stroke and traumatic spinal cord injury.Both intrinsic and extrinsic factors are responsible for the regeneration failure.Although intensive research efforts have been invested on extrinsic regeneration inhibitors,the extent to which glial inhibitors contribute to the regeneration failure in vivo still remains elusive.Recent experimental evidence has rekindled interests in intrinsic factors for the regulation of regeneration capacity in adult mammals.In this review,we propose that activating macrophages with pro-regenerative molecular signatures could be a novel approach for boosting intrinsic regenerative capacity of CNS neurons.Using a conditioning injury model in which regeneration of central branches of dorsal root ganglia sensory neurons is enhanced by a preceding injury to the peripheral branches,we have demonstrated that perineuronal macrophages surrounding dorsal root ganglia neurons are critically involved in the maintenance of enhanced regeneration capacity.Neuron-derived chemokine(C-C motif) ligand 2(CCL2) seems to mediate neuron-macrophage interactions conveying injury signals to perineuronal macrophages taking on a soley pro-regenerative phenotype,which we designate as regeneration-associated macrophages(RAMs).Manipulation of the CCL2 signaling could boost regeneration potential mimicking the conditioning injury,suggesting that the chemokine-mediated RAM activation could be utilized as a regenerative therapeutic strategy for CNS injuries. | Min Jung Kwon Hyuk Jun Yoon Byung Gon Kim | 2016 | Neural Regeneration Research2016,11,9: | 1 |
