3Genome-wide identification of agronomically important genes in outcrossing crops using OutcrossSeq显示文摘Many important crops(e.g.,tuber,root,and tree crops)are cross-pollinating.For these crops,no inbred lines are available for genetic study and breeding because they are self-incompatible,clonally propagated,or have a long generation time,making the identification of agronomically important genes difficult,particularly in crops with a complex autopolyploid genome.In this study,we developed a method,OutcrossSeq,for mapping agronomically important loci in outcrossing crops based on whole-genome low-coverage resequencing of a large genetic population,and designed three computation algorithms in OutcrossSeq for different types of outcrossing populations.We applied OutcrossSeq to a tuberous root crop(sweet potato,autopolyploid),a tree crop(walnut tree,highly heterozygous diploid),and hybrid crops(double-cross populations)to generate high-density genotype maps for the outcrossing populations,which enable precise identification of genomic loci underlying important agronomic traits.Candidate causative genes at these loci were detected based on functional clues.Taken together,our results indicate that OutcrossSeq is a robust and powerful method for identifying agronomically important genes in heterozygous species,including polyploids,in a cost-efficient way.The OutcrossSeq software and its instruction manual are available for downloading at www.xhhuanglab.cn/tool/OutcrossSeq.html.Mengjiao Chen Weijuan Fan Feiyang Ji Hua Hua Jie Liu Mengxiao Yan Qingguo Ma Jiongjiong Fan Qin Wang Shufeng Zhang Guiling Liu Zhe Sun Changgeng Tian Fengling Zhao Jianli Zheng Qi Zhang Jiaxin Chen Jie Qiu Xin Wei Ziru Chen Peng Zhang Dong Pei Jun Yang Xuehui Huang 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,4:4
4Electrochemical lithium ions pump for lithium recovery from brine by using a surface stability Al_(2)O_(3)–ZrO_(2 )coated LiMn_(2)O_(4) electrode显示文摘The rapid commercialization of lithium–ion batteries has caused significant expansion of the lithium demand.Electrochemical lithium ions pump is a promising technology because of its good selectivity and friendly environment.Herein,an Al_(2)O_(3)–ZrO_(2) film coating of the LiMn_(2)O_(4)(AlZr–LMO) electrode is prepared and operated for recovery of Li^(+)from brine.The Li^(+) maximum extraction capacity of AlZr–LMO reached 49.92 mg/g in one cycle.Compared with the solely LMO electrode,the AlZr–LMO demonstrated evident electrochemical stability and cycle life towards the Li^(+)recovery system.After 30 successive cycles,the extraction capacity for Li^(+)increased from 29.21%to 57.67%.The high cycle capacity of the material could be attributed to its low polarization,high active sites,and good chemical stability of the electrode surface owing to the synergy function of Al_(2)O_(3)–ZrO_(2)in the charging-discharging process.A dynamic model parameter identification method was performed to evaluate the active site of AlZr–LMO.This work may provide a way to design the AlZr–LMO electrode and develop a good method for the recovery of lithium from brine.Guiling Luo Lin Zhu Xiaowei Li Guolang Zhou Jing Sun Linlin Chen Yanhong Chao Lei Jiang Wenshuai Zhu 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,6:2
5MXene-Derived Defect-Rich TiO2@rGO as High-Rate Anodes for Full Na Ion Batteries and Capacitors显示文摘Sodium ion batteries and capacitors have demonstrated their potential applications for next-generation low-cost energy storage devices.These devices’s rate ability is determined by the fast sodium ion storage behavior in electrode materials.Herein,a defective TiO2@reduced graphene oxide(M-TiO2@rGO)self-supporting foam electrode is constructed via a facile MXene decomposition and graphene oxide self-assembling process.The employment of the MXene parent phase exhibits distinctive advantages,enabling defect engineering,nanoengineering,and fluorine-doped metal oxides.As a result,the M-TiO2@rGO electrode shows a pseudocapacitance-dominated hybrid sodium storage mechanism.The pseudocapacitance-dominated process leads to high capacity,remarkable rate ability,and superior cycling performance.Significantly,an M-TiO2@rGO//Na3 V2(PO4)3 sodium full cell and an M-TiO2@rGO//HPAC sodium ion capacitor are fabricated to demonstrate the promising application of M-TiO2@rGO.The sodium ion battery presents a capacity of 177.1 mAh g-1 at 500 mA g-1 and capacity retention of 74%after 200 cycles.The sodium ion capacitor delivers a maximum energy density of 101.2 Wh kg-1 and a maximum power density of 10,103.7 W kg-1.At 1.0 A g-1,it displays an energy retention of 84.7%after 10,000 cycles.Yongzheng Fang Yingying Zhang Chenxu Miao Kai Zhu Yong Chen Fei Du Jinling Yin Ke Ye Kui Cheng Jun Yan Guiling Wang Dianxue Cao 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,10:2

11Construction of truncated-octahedral LiMn2O4 for battery-like electrochemical lithium recovery from brine显示文摘The extraction of lithium from salt lakes or seawater has attracted worldwide attention because of the explosive growth of global demand for lithium products. The LiMn_(2)O_(4)-based electrochemical lithium recovery system is one of the strongest candidates for commercial application due to its high inserted capacity and low energy consumption. However, the surface orientation of LiMn_(2)O_(4)that facilitates Li diffusion happens to be prone to manganese dissolution making it a great challenge to obtain high lithium inserted capacity and long life simultaneously. Herein, we address this problem by designing a truncated octahedral LiMn_(2)O_(4)(Tr-oh LMO) in which the dominant(111) facets minimize Mn dissolution while a small portion of(100) facets facilitate the Li diffusion. Thus, this Tr-oh LMO-based electrochemical lithium recovery system shows excellent Li recovery performance with high inserted capacity(20.25 mg g^(-1)per cycle) in simulated brine. In addition, the dissolution rate of manganese per 30 cycles is only 0.44% and the capacity maintained 85% of the initial after 30 cycles. 15Mindfulness intervention in the management of chronic pain and psychological comorbidity: A meta-analysis显示文摘Objective:To review trials on mindfulness intervention for chronic pain in primary care to clarify the evidence base and establish whether mindfulness is an important intervention for relieving pain and improving psychological comorbidity.Methods:We performed a literature search using PubMed,the Cochrane Database,EBSCOhost,Elsevier,Wiley,Springer,and the references of retrieved articles.We included articles written in English and that were published up to January 2012.We found 428 empirical studies,but only eight were included as randomized controlled trials of mindfulness intervention for chronic pain in our meta-analysis.After extracting and synthesizing data from these eight trials,we analyzed the data extracted and synthesized from these eight trials.Results:Compared with control intervention,mindfulness intervention had no specific effect on reducing pain intensity(weighted mean difference 3.24,95%confidence interval[CI]:8.92 to 2.45).Mindfulness intervention led to greater improvement in psychological comorbidity with chronic pain,such as depression(weighted mean difference3.91,95%CI5.94 to2.32)and trait anxiety(weighted mean difference4.07,95%CI4.48 to3.65).Conclusion:There is insufficient evidence that mindfulness intervention relieves pain intensity.However,it improves depression and trait anxiety in patients with chronic pain.Further research in larger,properly powered,and better-designed studies is warranted.Yan Song Haixia Lu Honglin Chen Guiling Geng Jing Wang 2014International Journal of Nursing Sciences2014,1,2:1
16Dendrite-free and anti-corrosion Zn metal anode enabled by an artificial layer for high-performance Zn ion capacitor显示文摘Aqueous zinc energy storage devices,holding various merits such as high specific capacity and low costs,have attracted extensive attention in recent years.Nevertheless,Zn metal anodes still suffer from a short lifespan and low Coulombic efficiency due to corrosion and side reactions in aqueous electrolytes.In this paper,we construct an artificial Sn inorganic layer on Zn metal anode through a facile strategy of atom exchange.The Sn layer suppresses Zn dendrite growth by facilitating homogeneous Zn plating and stripping during charge and discharge processes.Meanwhile,the Sn protective layer also serves as a physical barrier to decrease Zn corrosion and hydrogen generation.As a result,The Sn-coated anode(Sn|Zn)exhibits a low polarization voltage(~34 mV at 0.5 mAh/cm^(2))after 800 testing hours and displays a smooth and an even surface without corrosion.Moreover,the zinc ion capacitor(Sn|Zn‖activated carbon)is assembled with an enhanced capacity of 42 mAh/g and a capacity retention of 95%after 10,000 cycles at 5 A/g.This work demonstrates a feasible approach for the commercialization of aqueous Zn-based energy storage devices.Zhuo Li Zhe Gong Xiaoyu Wu Ke Ye Jun Yan Guiling Wang Yingjin Wei Kai Zhu Jin Yi Dianxue Cao Guohua Chen 2022Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,8:0
17Construction of porous disc-like lithium manganate for rapid and selective electrochemical lithium extraction from brine显示文摘In order to satisfy the growing global demand for lithium, selective extraction of lithium from brine has attracted extensive attention. LiMn_(2)O_(4)-based electrochemical lithium recovery system is one of the best choices for commercial applications because of its high selectivity and low energy consumption.However, the low ion diffusion coefficient of lithium manganate limits the further development of electrochemical lithium recovery system. In this work, a novel porous disc-like LiMn_(2)O_(4) was successfully synthesized for the first time via two-step annealing manganese(Ⅱ) precursors. The as-prepared LiMn_(2)O_(4) exhibits porous disc-like morphology, excellent crystallinity, high Li^(+)diffusion coefficient(average 7.6×10^(-9)cm^(2)·s^(-1)), high cycle stability(after 30 uninterrupted extraction and release cycles, the crystal structure hardly changed) and superior rate capacity(93.5% retention from 10-120 mA·g^(-1)). The porous structure and disc-like morphology further promote the contact between lithium ions and electrode materials. Therefore, the assembled electrochemical lithium extraction device with LiMn_(2)O_(4) as positive electrode and silver as negative electrode can realize the rapid and selective extraction of lithium in simulated brine(adsorption capacity of lithium can reach 4.85 mg·g^(-1) in 1 h). The mechanism of disc-like LiMn_(2)O_(4) in electrochemical lithium extraction was proposed based on the analysis of electrochemical characterization and quasi in situ XRD. 18Multifunctional AlPO_(4)reconstructed LiMn_(2)O_(4)surface for electrochemical lithium extraction from brine显示文摘LiMn_(2)O_(4)(LMO)electrochemical lithium-ion pump has gained widespread attention due to its green,high efficiency,and low energy consumption in selectively extracting lithium from brine.However,collapse of crystal structure and loss of lithium extraction capacity caused by Mn dissolution loss limits its industrialized application.Hence,a multifunctional coating was developed by depositing amorphous AlPO_(4)on the surface of LMO using sol-gel method.The characterization and electrochemical performance test provided insights into the mechanism of Li^(+)embedment and de-embedment and revealed that multifunctional AlPO_(4)can reconstruct the physical and chemical state of LMO surface to improve the interface hydrophilicity,promote the transport of Li^(+),strengthen cycle stability.Remarkably,after 20 cycles,the capacity retention rate of 0.5AP-LMO reached 93.6%with only 0.147%Mn dissolution loss.The average Li^(+)release capacity of 0.5AP-LMO//Ag system in simulated brine is 28.77 mg/(g h),which is 90.4%higher than LMO.Encouragingly,even in the more complex Zabuye real brine,0.5AP-LMO//Ag can still maintain excellent lithium extraction performance.These results indicate that the 0.5AP-LMO//Ag lithium-ion pump shows promising potential as a Li^(+)selective extraction system.Jun Gu Linlin Chen Xiaowei Li Guiling Luo Linjing Fan Yanhong Chao Haiyan Ji Wenshuai Zhu 2024Journal of Energy Chemistry2024,89,2:0
19Ginsenoside-Rg1 combined with a conditioned medium from induced neuron-like hUCMSCs alleviated the apoptosis in a cell model of ALS through regulating the NF-κB/Bcl-2 pathway显示文摘Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS)is a fatal neurodegenerative disease affecting both upper and lower motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord.One important aspect of ALS pathogenesis is superoxide dismutase 1(SOD1)mutant-mediated mitochondrial toxicity,leading to apoptosis in neurons.This study aimed to evaluate the neural protective synergistic effects of ginsenosides Rg1(G-Rg1)and conditioned medium(CM)on a mutational SOD1 cell model,and to explore the underlying mechanisms.We found that the contents of nerve growth factor,glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor,and brain-derived neurotrophic factor significantly increased in CM after human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells(hUCMSCs)were exposed to neuron differentiation reagents for seven days.CM or G-Rg1 decreased the apoptotic rate of SOD1^(G93A)-NSC34 cell to a certain extent,but their combination brought about the least apoptosis,compared with CM or G-Rg1 alone.Further research showed that the anti-apoptotic protein Bcl-2 was upregulated in all the treatment groups.Proteins associated with mitochondrial apoptotic pathways,such as Bax,caspase 9(Cas-9),and cytochrome c(Cyt c),were downregulated.Furthermore,CM or G-Rg1 also inhibited the activation of the nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)signaling pathway by reducing the phosphorylation of p65 and IκBa.CM/G-Rg1 or their combination also reduced the apoptotic rate induced by betulinic acid(BetA),an agonist of the NF-κB signaling pathway.In summary,the combination of CM and G-Rg1 effectively reduced the apoptosis of SOD1^(G93A)-NSC34 cells through suppresing the NF-κB/Bcl-2 sgaling pathway(Fig.1 is a graphcal representation of the abstract).HUANG Yu YANG Hui YANG Biying ZHENG Yu H OU Xiaomei CHEN Guiling ZHANG Wenqi ZENG Xiang DU Baoxin 2023Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2023,21,7:0
20Decline in subarachnoid haemorrhage volumes associated with the first wave of the COVID- 19 pandemic显示文摘Background During the COVID-19 pandemic,decreased volumes of stroke admissions and mechanical thrombectomy were reported.The study’s objective was to examine whether subarachnoid haemorrhage(SAH)hospitalisations and ruptured aneurysm coiling interventions demonstrated similar declines.Methods We conducted a cross-sectional,retrospective,observational study across 6 continents,37 countries and 140 comprehensive stroke centres.Patients with the diagnosis of SAH,aneurysmal SAH,ruptured aneurysm coiling interventions and COVID-19 were identified by prospective aneurysm databases or by International Classification of Diseases,10th Revision,codes.The 3-month cumulative volume,monthly volumes for SAH hospitalisations and ruptured aneurysm coiling procedures were compared for the period before(1 year and immediately before)and during the pandemic,defined as 1 March-31 May 2020.The prior 1-year control period(1 March-31 May 2019)was obtained to account for seasonal variation.Findings There was a significant decline in SAH hospitalisations,with 2044 admissions in the 3 months immediately before and 1585 admissions during the pandemic,representing a relative decline of 22.5%(95%CI−24.3%to−20.7%,p<0.0001).Embolisation of ruptured aneurysms declined with 1170-1035 procedures,respectively,representing an 11.5%(95%CI−13.5%to−9.8%,p=0.002)relative drop.Subgroup analysis was noted for aneurysmal SAH hospitalisation decline from 834 to 626 hospitalisations,a 24.9%relative decline(95%CI−28.0%to−22.1%,p<0.0001).A relative increase in ruptured aneurysm coiling was noted in low coiling volume hospitals of 41.1%(95%CI 32.3%to 50.6%,p=0.008)despite a decrease in SAH admissions in this tertile.Interpretation There was a relative decrease in the volume of SAH hospitalisations,aneurysmal SAH hospitalisations and ruptured aneurysm embolisations during the
