| 1 | Heterogeneous lamellar-edged Fe-Ni(OH)_(2)/Ni_(3)S_(2)nanoarray for efficient and stable seawater oxidation显示文摘Development of efficient non-precious catalysts for seawater electrolysis is of great significance but challenging due to the sluggish kinetics of oxygen evolution reaction(OER)and the impairment of chlorine electrochemistry at anode.Herein,we report a heterostructure of Ni_(3)S_(2)nanoarray with secondary Fe-Ni(OH)_(2)lamellar edges that exposes abundant active sites towards seawater oxidation.The resultant Fe-Ni(OH)_(2)/Ni_(3)S_(2)nanoarray works directly as a free-standing anodic electrode in alkaline artificial seawater.It only requires an overpotential of 269 mV to afford a current density of 10 mA·cm^(-2)and the Tafel slope is as low as 46 m V·dec^(-1).The 27-hour chronopotentiometry operated at high current density of 100 mA·cm^(-2)shows negligible deterioration,suggesting good stability of the Fe-Ni(OH)_(2)/Ni_(3)S_(2)@NF electrode.Faraday efficiency for oxygen evolution is up to〜95%,revealing decent selectivity of the catalyst in saline water.Such desirable catalytic performance could be benefitted from the introduction of Fe activator and the heterostructure that offers massive active and selective sites.The density functional theory(DFT)calculations indicate that the OER has lower theoretical overpotential than Cl_(2) evolution reaction in Fe sites,which is contrary to that of Ni sites.The experimental and theoretical study provides a strong support for the rational design of high-performance Fe-based electrodes for industrial seawater electrolysis. | Baihua Cui Zheng Hu Chang Liu Siliang Liu Fangshuai Chen Shi Hu Jinfeng Zhang Wei Zhou Yida Deng Zhenbo Qin Zhong Wu Yanan Chen Lifeng Cui Wenbin Hu | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,4: | 7 |
| 2 | Characterization of microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of the spray-deposited AZ31 magnesium alloy显示文摘The cylindrical billets of a Mg-3Al-1Zn (AZ31) alloy were synthesized by spray deposition processing. The microstruc-ture evolution and mechanical properties of the alloy were investigated. The results reveal that the microstructure of the AZ31 alloy is refined significantly by spray deposition processing. A homogeneous and equiaxial-grain structure with an average grain size of 17 μm is obtained. Further grain refinement with an average grain size of 5 μm is attributed to dynamic recrystallization during extru-sion processing. The great increase in the density of grain boundary nucleation sites by the finer initial grain sizes makes the disloca-tion pile-ups near subgrain boundaries being absorbed easily by the boundaries, resulting in an accelerated recrystallization process. | 3 | Flame-retardant quasi-solid polymer electrolyte enabling sodium metal batteries with highly safe characteristic and superior cycling stability显示文摘Con ventio nal liquid electrolytes based sodium metal batteries suffer from severe safety hazards owing to electrolyte leakage,in flammability and dendritic sodium deposit!on.Herein,we report a flame-retardant quasi-solid polymer electrolyte with poly(methyl vinyl ether-alt-maleic an hydride)(P(MVE-alt-MA))as host,bacterial cellulose(BC)as reinforceme nt,and triethyl phosphate/vinyle ne carb on ate/sodium perchlorate(TEP/VC/NaClO4)as plasticizer for highly safe sodium metal batteries.The as-obtained quasi-solid polymer electrolyte exhibits superior flame retardancy(self-extinguish within 1 s),complete non-leakage property and wide electrochemical windows(4.4 V).More importantly,Na3V2(PO4)3/Na metal batteries using such polymer electrolyte delivers superior I on g-term cycli ng stability(84.4%capacity rete ntion after 1000 cycles)which is significantly better than that(only 2%after 240 cycles)of liquid electrolyte.In addition,this flame-retardant quasi-solid polymer electrolyte provides favorable cycle performance(80.2%capacity retention after 70 cycles at 50°C and 84.8%capacity retention after 50 cycles at-10°C)for Na3V2(PO4)3/Na metal batteries.And this battery also displayed a normal charge/discharge property even at-15°C.These fascinating cycle properties are mainly ascribed to the effective pro怕ctive layers formed on Na3V2(PC>4)3 cathode and sodium metal ano de.More thorough in vestigati on elucidates that such flame-retardant quasi-solid polymer electrolyte plays a multif unctional role in the adva need sodium metal batteries:(1)being in volved in the formatio n of a favorable cathode electrolyte in terface(CEI)to inhibit the dissolutio n of van adium and maintai n the structure integrity of the Na3V2(PO4)3;(2)participati ng in building a stable solid electrolyte in terface(SEI)to suppress the growth of Na dendrites;(3)integrating flame-retardanee into polymer sodium batteries to enhance flame-resistanee,eliminate electrolyte leakage,and thus improve safety of sodium batteries.Based on these results,we further assembled Na3V2(PO4)3/MoS2 pouch cell which can withsta nd harsh conditions(be nded or cut off a corn er),confirming the obtai ned polymer electrolyte with superior non-leakage property.In all,these outstanding characteristics would endow this flame-retardant quasi-solid polymer electrolyte a very promising can didate for highly-safe sodium metal batteries. | Jinfeng Yang Min Zhang Zheng Chen Xiaofan Du Suqi Huang Ben Tang Tiantian Dong Han Wu Zhe Yu Jianjun Zhang Guanglei Cui | 2019 | Nano Research2019,12,9: | 4 |

| 5 | Exogenous application of succinic acid enhances tolerance of Larix olgensis seedling to lead stress显示文摘Larix olgensis A. Henry(Changbai larch) is a productive commercial species and good candidate for afforestation in northeast China. It is widely planted in lead-stressed soils which can induce oxidative damage in this plant. Increasing tolerance to lead(Pb) stress is therefore of keen interest. A greenhouse experiment was conducted to identify the biomass, physiological responses and Pb accumulation of L. olgensis seedlings to Pb stress under succinic acid(SA) application and to explore the interaction of exogenous SA applications and stress resistance. L. olgensis seedlings were planted in Pb-stressed or unstressed haplic cambisols in pots. In Pb-contaminated soils the seedlings were treated daily with concentrations of SA solutions at a rate approximately equivalent to 0, 0.04,0.2, 1.0, or 2.0 mmol kg^(-1) of soil for 10, 20, and 30 days,respectively. Pb treatment induced damage in the seedlings and led to the inhibition of biomass accumulation in roots,stems and leaves, and a rise in Pb accumulation in fine roots and leaves. Malondialdehyde(MDA) content and electrolyte leakage in leaves significantly increased while peroxidase(POD) activities, soluble protein and photosynthetic pigment contents in leaves were all reduced.Physiological toxicity was promoted with increasing Pb treatment times. When Pb-stressed seedlings were exposed to SA(especially 10.0 mmol L-1 over 20 days), the physiological responses for Pb-only were reversed and the biomass of roots, stems, and leaves dramatically increased.SA facilitated Pb uptake in fine roots and leaves but more Pb accumulated in fine roots. An efficient evaluation model for this computation including the interconnect resistance effect on the high density resistive random access memmory(RRAM) crossbar array is proposed in this paper. The proposed model considers the interconnect resistance impacts on the columns and rows separately. The simulation results indicate that the computing speed of the proposed model can be boosted by over three orders of magnitude with the computation deviation of 7.7% in comparison with the precise comprehensive model in the 64 kb crossbar array fabricated at the 14 nm technology node. | 15 | Digestion performance improvement of tributyrin through nano-emulsion preparation technology显示文摘The current research aimed to optimize the preparation technology of tributyrin nano-emulsion(TBNE)to improve its digestion properties, which were investigated through digestion models in vitro and in vivo. The content of each component of TBNE was optimized by response surface methodology(RSM) to improve the z-average particle size and stability of TBNE. The optimized TBNE was evaluated for its digestion properties by in vitro and in vivo models. The preparation conditions of TBNE optimized by RSM were as follows: 61.3% of sorbitol, 32.7% of tributyrin, and 6.0% of modified phospholipid(MP). The predicted z-average particle size of TBNE was(246.02 ± 18.10) nm. The results of the verification test showed that the z-average particle size, zeta potential, conductivity, emulsification activity index, and emulsification stability index of TBNE were(250.02 ± 7.18) nm,(-40.23 ± 0.76) m V,(31.80 ± 2.09) μS/cm,(848.00 ± 84.53) min and(1.14 ± 0.02) m^(2)/g, respectively. The in vitro digestion experiment results showed that the TBNE remained stable in the stomach and was released in the intestine, while the size of TBNE in the gastrointestinal tact was significantly smaller than that of tributyrin(P < 0.05), which made it easier to be digested and absorbed. Compared with tributyrin treatment, TBNE significantly promoted the average body weight at the 7th day, average daily feed intake,average daily gain, feed/gain, ileum weight, and organ index of ileum of Hy-Line BROWN chicks(P < 0.05), and the butyric acid content in the ileal chyme from TBNE and tributyrin treatment were172.18 mg/m L and 100.85 mg/m L(P < 0.01). | 20 | Interspecific association of sika deer in terrestrial animal communities of Liancheng National Nature Reserve, China显示文摘The prevention and control of invasive of alien species is an important work for nature reserves.This study analyzes the development trend of the alien species sika deer in Liancheng National Nature Reserve.From October 2019 to June 2020,3523 valid photos and videos of terrestrial animals were acquired from 130 camera traps,and sika deer were recorded in 21 photos from 13 traps.The survival of the sika deer population was investigated by means of morphological identification,population structure analysis,species relative abundance indices,and species spatial association analysis.A total of 13 sika deer individuals were identified by camera trapping,including two kids and three subadults representing the reproductive capacity of the population.Spatially,sika deer is not associated with any local species and was outside the spatial association network of terrestrial animals in Liancheng National Nature Reserve,indicating that the sika deer population has not been integrated into the local community and has failed to perform its ecological function.It is worth noting that the reserve provides habitat suitable for sika deer and that the population has adequate reproductive capacity.Due to the lack of large apex predators in the reserve,the population size of ungulates such as sika deer,red deer,and Siberian roe deer may expand and lead to population outbreaks and the associated problems for the ecosystem.To restore large-and medium-sized carnivores and avoid the population outbreak of the species,the present challenges require immediate attention in Liancheng National Nature Reserve. | Tengwei SU Guofa CUI Zihong MAN Wentao LI Zhihao HUANG Jinfeng CHEN Minyan ZHAO | 2023 | Integrative Zoology2023,18,4: | 0 |
