Effect of slow-release iron fertilizer on iron-deficiency chlorosis, yield and quality of Lilium davidii var.unicolor in a two-year field experiment显示文摘Iron deficiency chlorosis of Lilium davidii var. unicolor is often the case in practice in alkaline soils of northwest region of China. It is difficult to control iron chlorosis because of high cost and short effective work time of conventional iron fertilizers. In this study, a 2-year field experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of two slow-release fertilizers on the suppression of iron deficiency chlorosis, soil chemical properties, and the yield and quality of L. davidii var. unicolor. Results show that both coated slow-release iron fertilizers and embedded slow-release iron fertilizer effectively controlled iron-deficiency chlorosis. The application of slow-release iron fertilizers significantly increased plant height and chlorophyll content of L. davidii var. unicolor at different growth stages. Furthermore, coated iron fertilizer application significantly increased starch, protein, soluble sugar and vitamin C content of L. davidii var. unicolor, and it also significantly improved total amino acid content, with increases in essential amino acids(Trp, Leu, Lys, Phe, Val, and Thr contents) and in nonessential amino acids(Asp, Glu, Cit, Ihs, Acc, Ala, Pro, and Cys contents). It was concluded that application of coated slow-release iron fertilizer could be a promising option for suppression of iron deficiency chlorosis and deserves further study.Yang Qiu ZhongKui Xie XinPing Wang YaJun Wang YuBao Zhang YuHui He WenMei Li WenCong Lv 2018Research in Cold and Arid Regions2018,10,5:1
Noninvasive Assessment of Liver Fibrosis and Inflammation in Chronic Hepatitis B:A Dual-task Convolutional Neural Network(DtCNN)Model Based on Ultrasound Shear Wave Elastography显示文摘Background and Aims:Liver stiffness(LS)measured by shear wave elastography(SWE)is often influenced by hepat-ic inflammation. The aim was to develop a dual-task convo-lutional neural network(DtCNN)model for the simultaneous staging of liver fibrosis and inflammation activity using 2D-SWE.Methods:A total of 532 patients with chronic hepatitis B(CHB)were included to develop and validate the DtCNN model. An additional 180 consecutive patients between De-cember 2019 and April 2021 were prospectively included for further validation. All patients underwent 2D-SWE examina-tion and serum biomarker assessment.A DtCNN model con-taining two pathways for the staging of fibrosis and inflam-mation was used to improve the classification of significant fibrosis(≥F2),advanced fibrosis(≥F3)as well as cirrhosis(F4).Results:Both fibrosis and inflammation affected LS measurements by 2D-SWE.The proposed DtCNN performed the best among all the classification models for fibrosis stage[significant fibrosis AUC=0.89(95%CI:0.87-0.92),ad-vanced fibrosis AUC=0.87(95%CI:0.84-0.90),liver cirrho-sis AUC=0.85(95%CI:0.81-0.89)].The DtCNN-based pre-diction of inflammation activity achieved AUCs of 0.82(95%CI:0.78-0.86)for grade≥A1,0.88(95%CI:0.85-0.90)grade≥A2 and 0.78(95%CI:0.75-0.81)for grade≥A3,which were significantly higher than the AUCs of the single-task groups.Similar findings were observed in the prospec-tive study. Conclusions:The proposed DtCNN improved di-agnostic performance compared with existing fibrosis staging models by including inflammation in the model, which sup-ports its potential clinical application.Chengyan Wang Lili Zheng Yan Li Shujun Xia Jun Lv Xumei Hu Weiwei Zhan Fuhua Yan Ruokun Li Xinping Ren 2022Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2022,10,6:0
Reciprocal costimulatory molecules control the activation of mucosal type 3 innate lymphoid cells during engagement with B cells显示文摘Innate lymphoid cells(ILCs)are the counterpart of T helper cells in the innate immune system and share multiple phenotypes with T helper cells.Inducible T-cell costimulator(ICOS)is recognized on T cells and participates in T-cell activation and T and B-cell engagement in lymphoid tissues. However, the role of ICOS in ILC3s and ILC3-involved interactions with the immune microenvironment remains unclear. Here,we found that ICOS expression on human ILC3s was correlated with the activated state of ILC3s.ICOS costimulation enhanced the survival, proliferation, and capacity of ILC3s to produce cytokines(IL-22,IL-17A,IFN-γ,TNF,and GM-CSF).Via synergistic effects of ICOS and CD40 signaling,B cells promoted ILC3 functions, and ILC3-induced T-cellindependent B-cell IgA and IgM secretion primarily required CD40 signaling.Hence,ICOS is essential for the nonredundant role of ILC3s and their interaction with adjacent B cells.Xinping Lv Shan Zhu Jing Wu Jinfeng Shi Qiuyu Wei Tete Li Ning Yang Chunyan Liu Lingli Qi Guoxia Zang Hang Cheng Zhiguang Yang Chengyan Jin Yusheng Wang Jiuwei Cui Hideki Ueno Yong-Jun Liu Jingtao Chen 2023Cellular & Molecular Immunology2023,20,7:0
Recent research progress on the phase-field model of microstructural evolution during metal solidification显示文摘Solidification structure is a key aspect for understanding the mechanical performance of metal alloys, wherein composition and casting parameters considerably influence solidification and determine the unique microstructure of the alloys.By following the principle of free energy minimization, the phase-field method eliminates the need for tracking the solid/liquid phase interface and has greatly accelerated the research and development efforts geared toward optimizing metal solidification microstructures. The recent progress in the application of phasefield simulation to investigate the effect of alloy composition and casting process parameters on the solidification structure of metals is summarized in this review. The effects of several typical elements and process parameters, including carbon, boron, silicon, cooling rate, pulling speed, scanning speed, anisotropy, and gravity,on the solidification structure are discussed. The present work also addresses the future prospects of phase-field simulation and aims to facilitate the widespread applications of phase-field approaches in the simulation of microstructures during solidification.Kaiyang Wang Shaojie Lv Honghui Wu Guilin Wu Shuize Wang Junheng Gao Jiaming Zhu Xusheng Yang Xinping Mao 2023International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2023,30,11:0
Transcriptional control of mature ILC3 function and plasticity: not just RORγt显示文摘Transcription factors are vital and indispensable for innate lymphoid cell(ILC)subset development and lineage-specific functions as well as the diversity and plasticity of ILCs[1].ILC3s,including lymphoid tissue inducer(LTi)-like ILC3s and natural cytotoxicity receptor(NCR)+ILC3s,are commonly defined by the expression of the transcription factor retinoic acid receptor-related orphan receptor(ROR)yt[2,3]and coexpress some ILC-associated transcription factors, such as ILC2-expressing RORa and ILC1-defined T-bet.However,the combined role of multiple transcrip-tion factors in ILC diversity and plasticity remains unclear.Xinping Lv Shan Zhu Jing Wu Jingtao Chen 2022Cellular & Molecular Immunology2022,19,2:0
Group 3 innate lymphoid cells: intestinal patrolling guardians bullied by T cells显示文摘Since the discovery of group 3 innate lymphoid cells(ILC3s),many studies have reported that,in addition to T cells,ILC3s also play an indispensable role in intestinal immune surveillance, host defense, and homeostasis[1].Although both ILC3s and T cells regulate intestinal inflammation through the secretion of interleukin(IL)-22,differences in the behaviors of these two cell types, especially the dynamic shift and mechanism of ILC3 regulation between normal and inflammatory states, remain unclear.A recent paper by Jarade et al.[2]published in Nature Immunology reported that intestinal ILC3s under basal conditions are immotile and arrested in the presence of T cells.Furthermore, the environmental T cells, the microbiota, and the chemokine CCL25 jointly shape ILC3 patrolling behavior and their effector function of maintaining intestinal barrier integrity via IL-22.These findings facilitate the study of ILC biodynamics and ILC immune regulation and the search for therapeutic strategies for gastrointestinal diseases.Xinping Lv Shan Zhu Jing Wu Jingtao Chen 2023Cellular & Molecular Immunology2023,20,2:0
Transcriptome and carotenoid profiling of different varieties of Coffea arabica provides insights into fruit color formation显示文摘The processability and ultimate quality of coffee(Coffea arabica)are determined by the composition of the matured fruits. The basis of genetic variation in coffee fruit quality could be explained by studying color formation during fruit maturation.Transcriptome profiling was conducted on matured fruits of four C.arabica varieties(orange colored fruits(ORF);purple colored fruits(PF);red colored fruits(RF)and yellow colored fruits(YF))to identify key color-regulating genes, biosynthesis pathways and transcription factors implicated in fruit color formation.A total of 39,938 genes were identified in the transcriptomes of the four C.arabica varieties. In all,2745,781 and 1224 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were detected in YF_vs_PF,YF_vs_RF and YF_vs_ORF,respectively,with 1732 DEGs conserved among the three pairwise groups.Functional annotation of the DEGs led to the detection of 28 and 82 key genes involved in the biosynthesis of carotenoids and anthocyanins, respectively.Key transcription factors bHLH,MYB,NAC,MADS,and WRKY implicated in fruit color regulation were detected. The high expression levels of gene-LOC113688784(PSY),gene-LOC113730013(b-CHY),gene-LOC113728842(CCD7),gene-LOC113689681(NCED)and gene-LOC113729473(ABA2)in YF may have accounted for the yellow coloration. The differential expression of several anthocyanin and carotenoid-specific genes in the fruits substantially account for the purple(PF),red(RF),and orange(ORF)colorations. This study provides important insights into fruit color formation and variations in C.arabica and will help to develop coffee varieties with specific color and quality traits.Faguang Hu Xiaofei Bi Hongming Liu Xingfei Fu Yanan Li Yang Yang Xiaofang Zhang Ruirui Wu Guiping Li Yulan Lv Jiaxiong Huang Xinping Luo Rui Shi 2022Plant Diversity2022,44,3:0
