| 1 | Finite difference numerical simulation of guided wave propagation in the full grouted rock bolt显示文摘Based on guided wave theory and considering the grouted rock bolt as waveguide medium, we have constructed a three dimensional model of grouted rock bolt with the dynamics of finite difference numerical simulation software FLAC3D4.0, and simulated the propagation behavior of the guided wave in the full grouted rock bolt. The simulated waveform and wave velocity matched well with the experimental results. We have made a more in-depth and comprehensive study of the wave velocity, wave component and attenuation characteristics of the guided wave propagating in rock bolt, and found some new characteristics and phenomena. In addition, some phenomena that haven’t been explained in the previous researches have also been discussed in this paper. The result showed that when guided wave propagates in grouted rock bolt, after the body wave decays, there is still the interface wave-Stoneley wave that does not decay in the axial direction of the bolt. | 5 | Toward a high resolution 2-DE profile of the normal human liver proteome using ultra-zoom gels显示文摘The human liver is the largest organ in the body and has many important physiological functions. A global analysis of human liver proteins is essential for a better understanding of the molecular basis of the normal functions of the liver and of its diseases. As part of the Human Liver Proteome Project (HLPP), the goal of the present study was to visualize and detect as many proteins as possible in normal human livers using two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE). We have constructed a reference map of the proteins of human normal liver that can be used for the comprehensive analysis of the human liver proteome and other related research. To improve the resolution and enhance the detection of low abundance proteins, we developed and optimized narrow pH range ultra-zoom 2-DE gels. High resolution patterns of human liver in pH gradients 4.5-5.5, 5-6, 5.5-6.7, 6-9 and 6-11 are presented. To improve the poor resolution in the alkaline pH range of 2-DE gels, we optimized the isoelectric focusing protocol by including sample application using cup loading at the anode and incorporating 1.2% hydroxyethyl disulfide, 15% 2-propanol and 5% glycerol in the rehydration buffer. Using the optimized protocol, we obtained reproducibly better resolution in both analytical and preparative 2-DE gels. Compared with the 2386 and 1878 protein spots resolved in the wide range 3-10 and 4-7 pH gradients respectively, we obtained 5481 protein spots from the multiple (overlapping) narrow pH range ultra-zoom gels in the range of pH 4.5-9. | 6 | Mobility in China,2020:a tale of four phases显示文摘2020 was an unprecedented year;with rapid and drastic changes in human mobility due to the COVID-19 pandemic.To understand the variation in commuting patterns among the Chinese population across stable and unstable periods,we used nationwide mobility data from 318 million mobile phone users in China to examine the extreme fluctuations of population movements in 2020,ranging from the Lunar New Year travel season(chunyun),to the exceptional calm of COVID-19 lockdown,and then to the recovery period.We observed that cross-city movements;which increased substantially in chunyun and then dropped sharply during the lockdown,are primarily dependent on travel distance and the socio-economic development of cities.Following the Lunar New Year holiday,national mobility remained low until mid-February,and COVID-19 interventions delayed more than 72.89 million people returning to large cities.Mobility network analysis revealed clusters of highly connected cities,conforming to the social-economic division of urban agglomerations in China.While the mass migration back to large cities was delayed,smaller cities connected more densely to form new clusters.During the recovery period after travel restrictions were lifted,the netflows of over 55%city pairs reversed in direction compared to before the lockdown.These findings offer the most comprehensive picture of Chinese mobility at fine resolution across various scenarios in China and are of critical importance for decision making regarding future public-health-emergency response,transportation planning and regional economic development,among others. | Suoyi Tan Shengjie Lai Fan Fang Ziqiang Cao Bin Sai Bing Song Bitao Dai Shuhui Guo Chuchu Liu Mengsi Cai Tong Wang Mengning Wang Jiaxu Li Saran Chen Shuo Qin Jessica R.Floyd Zhidong Cao Jing Tan Xin Sun Tao Zhou Wei Zhang Andrew J.Tatem Petter Holme Xiaohong Chen Xin Lu | 2021 | National Science Review2021,8,11: | 3 |

| 9 | A four-gene signature-derived risk score for glioblastoma:prospects for prognostic and response predictive analyses显示文摘Objective: Glioblastoma(GBM) is the most common primary malignant brain tumor regulated by numerous genes, with poor survival outcomes and unsatisfactory response to therapy.Therefore, a robust, multi-gene signature-derived model is required to predict the prognosis and treatment response in GBM.Methods: Gene expression data of GBM from TCGA and GEO datasets were used to identify differentially expressed genes(DEGs)through DESeq2 or LIMMA methods.The DEGs were then overlapped and used for survival analysis by univariate and multivariate COX regression.Based on the gene signature of multiple survival-associated DEGs, a risk score model was established,and its prognostic and predictive role was estimated through Kaplan–Meier analysis and log-rank test.Gene set enrichment analysis(GSEA) was conducted to explore high-risk score-associated pathways.Western blot was used for protein detection.Results: Four survival-associated DEGs of GBM were identified: OSMR, HOXC10, SCARA3, and SLC39A10.The four-gene signature-derived risk score was higher in GBM than in normal brain tissues.GBM patients with a high-risk score had poor survival outcomes.The high-risk group treated with temozolomide chemotherapy or radiotherapy survived for a shorter duration than the low-risk group.GSEA showed that the high-risk score was enriched with pathways such as vasculature development and cell adhesion.Western blot confirmed that the proteins of these four genes were differentially expressed in GBM cells.Conclusions: The four-gene signature-derived risk score functions well in predicting the prognosis and treatment response in GBM and will be useful for guiding therapeutic strategies for GBM patients. | Mianfu Cao Juan Cai Ye Yuan Yu Shi Hong Wu Qing Liu Yueliang Yao Lu Chen Weiqi Dang XiangZhang Jingfang Xiao Kaidi Yang Zhicheng He Xiaohong Yao Yonghong Cui Xia Zhang Xiuwu Bian | 2019 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2019,16,3: | 2 |

| 11 | Sparse representation of global features of visual images in human primary visual cortex: Evidence from fMRI显示文摘In fMRI experiments on object representation in visual cortex, we designed two types of stimuli: one is the gray face image and its line drawing, and the other is the illusion and its corresponding completed illusion. Both of them have the same global features with different minute details so that the results of fMRI experiments can be compared with each other. The first kind of visual stimuli was used in a block design fMRI experiment, and the second was used in an event-related fMRI experiment. Comparing and analyzing interesting visual cortex activity patterns and blood oxygenation level dependent (BOLD)- fMRI signal, we obtained results to show some invariance of global features of visual images. | 12 | Comparison of the diagnostic performances of circulating tumor cells and the serum tumor markers CEA,CA125,and CA15-3 for breast cancer:a retrospective case-control study显示文摘Objective:Serum tumor markers are seldom considered as diagnostic biomarkers for breast cancer because they lack good sensitivity or specificity.This study aimed to evaluate whether a combination of circulating tumor cells(CTCs)and the serum tumor markers carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA),cancer antigen(CA)125,and CA15-3 might improve their diagnostic performance.Methods:We performed a retrospective case-control study of patients with breast cancer or benign breast diseases(BBD)and healthy female donors(HDs)who underwent preoperative CTC detection and serum tumor marker tests between December 2017 and November 2018.CTC detection and serum tumor marker test results were collected from 177 breast cancer patients,64 patients with BBD,and 20 HDs.Correlations between CTC,CEA,CA125,or CA15-3 and participants’clinical characteristics were then analyzed.The diagnostic performances of CTC,CEA,CA125,and CA15-3 were estimated using the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC).This study was approved by the Institutional Review Board of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University,China(approval No.[2018]kuaishendi(75))on May 24,2018.Results:CTC,CEA,and CA15-3 were able to distinguish breast cancer patients from controls(BBD+HDs)(P<0.0001,P=0.0006,and P=0.0086,respectively).CTCs were associated with tumor size(P=0.0275)and lymph node involvement(P=0.0373),while CA15-3 was correlated with cancer stage(P=0.01)and lymph node involvement(P=0.001).The AUCs of CTCs,CEA,CA125,and CA15-3 were 0.845,0.623,0.477,and 0.58,respectively.CA125,with AUC<0.5,was not considered a biomarker for breast cancer.CEA and CA15-3 had low sensitivities(<10%)but high specificities(>98%).Combination with CTC improved the diagnostic performances of CEA and CA15-3 for breast cancer.CTC_CA15-3 had better diagnostic performance than CTC_CEA,with an AUC of 0.874,a sensitivity of 0.757,and a specificity of 0.905.Conclusion:CTCs,CEA,and CA15-3 are potential diagnostic biomarkers for breast cancer.The diagnostic performance of CEA and CA15-3 may be improved by combination with CTCs. | Yi Luan Jie Wei Ke Wang Donghao Cai Xiaohong Luo Wanhung Fan Haijiang Wang Chaohui Duan | 2021 | Journal of Bio-X Research2021,4,2: | 2 |
