1Effects of dietary supplementation of probiotic,Clostridium butyricum,on growth performance,immune response,intestinal barrier function,and digestive enzyme activity in broiler chickens challenged with Escherichia coli K88显示文摘Background:Colibacillosis caused by enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli(E.coli) results in economic losses in the poultry industry.Antibiotics are usually used to control colibacillosis,however,E.coli has varying degrees of resistance to different antibiotics.Therefore the use of probiotics is becoming accepted as an alternative to antibiotics.In this study,we evaluated the effects of Clostridium butyricum(C.butyricum) on growth performance,immune response,intestinal barrier function,and digestive enzyme activity in broiler chickens challenged with Escherichia coli(E.coif) K88.Methods:The chickens were randomly divided into four treatment groups for 28 days.Negative control treatment(NC) consisted of birds fed a basal diet without E.coli K88 challenge and positive control treatment(PC) consisted of birds fed a basal diet and challenged with E.coli K88.C.butyricum probiotic treatment(CB) consisted of birds fed a diet containing 2×10~7 cfu C butyricum/kg of diet and challenged with E.coli K88.Colistin sulfate antibiotic treatment(CS)consisted of birds fed a diet containing 20 mg colistin sulfate/kg of diet and challenged with E.coli K88.Results:The body weight(BW) and average day gain(ADG) in the broilers of CB group were higher(P< 0.05) than the broilers in the PC group overall except the ADG in the 14-21 d post-challenge.The birds in CB treatment had higher(P < 0.05) concentration of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) at 3 and 7 d post-challenge,and higher(P < 0.05)concentration of interleukin-4(IL-4) at 14 d post-challenge than those in the PC treatment group.The concentration of serum endotoxin in CB birds was lower(P<0.05) at 21 d post-challenge,and the concentrations of serum diamine oxidase in CB birds were lower(P < 0.05) at 14 and 21 d post-challenge than in PC birds.Birds in CB treatment group had higher(P< 0.05) jejunum villi height than those in PC,NC,or CS treatment at 7,14,and 21 d post-challenge.In comparison to PC birds,the CB birds had lower(P < 0.05) jejunum crypt depth during the whole experiment.The birds in CB or CS treatment group had higher(P < 0.05) activities of amylase and protease at 3,7,and 14 d post-challenge,and higher(P< 0.05) activity of lipase at 3,7 d post-challenge than PC birds.Conclusions:In all,these results indicate that dietary supplementation with C.butyricum promotes immune response,improves intestinal barrier function,and digestive enzyme activities in broiler chickens challenged with E.coli K88.There is no significant difference between the C.butyricum probiotic treatment and the colistin sulfate antibiotic treatment.Therefore,the C.butyricum probiotic may be an alternative to antibiotic for broiler chickens.Ling Zhang Lingling Zhang Xiu'an Zhan Xinfu Zeng Lin Zhou Guangtian Cao An'guo Chen Caimei Yang 2016Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2016,7,1:43
2Transplantation of collagen scaffold with autologous bone marrow mononuclear cells promotes functional endometrium reconstruction via downregulating ΔNp63 expression in Asherman's syndrome显示文摘Asherman's syndrome(AS) is a common disease that presents endometrial regeneration disorder. However, little is known about its molecular features of this aregenerative endometrium in AS and how to reconstruct the functioning endometrium for the patients with AS. Here, we report that ΔNp63 is significantly upregulated in residual epithelial cells of the impaired endometrium in AS; the upregulated-ΔNp63 induces endometrial quiescence and alteration of stemness. Importantly, we demonstrate that engrafting high density of autologous bone marrow mononuclear cells(BMNCs) loaded in collagen scaffold onto the uterine lining of patients with AS downregulates ΔNp63 expression, reverses ΔNp63-induced pathological changes, normalizes the stemness alterations and restores endometrial regeneration. Finally, five patients achieved successful pregnancies and live births. Therefore, we conclude that ΔNp63 is a crucial therapeutic target for AS. 3Arginine, N-carbamylglutamate,and glutamine exert protective effects against oxidative stress in rat intestine显示文摘The objective of the current study is to evaluate the effects of dietary supplementation with arginine(ARG), N-carbamylglutamate(NCG), and glutamine(GLN) on rat intestinal morphology and antioxidant status under oxidative stress. Rats were fed for 30 d with one of the following iso-nitrogenous diets:basal diet(BD), BD plus 1% ARG, BD plus 0.1% NCG, and BD plus 1% GLN. On day 28, half of the rats fed BD were intraperitoneally injected with 12 mg/kg body weight of diquat(DT; i.e., the DT group) and the other half was intraperitoneally injected with sterile solution(i,e., the control group). The other diet groups were intraperitoneally injected with 12 mg/kg body weight of DT(i,e., DT + 1% GLN [DT + GLN],DT + 1% ARG [DT + ARG], and DT + 0.1% NCG [DT + NCG]). Rat jejunum samples obtained at 48 h after DT injection were analyzed. Results showed that DT significantly decreased catalase(CAT) activity and glutathione(GSH) content by 58.25% and 56.57%, respectively, and elevated malondialdehyde(MDA)content and crypt depth(CD) by 19.39% and 22.13%, respectively, in the jejunum(P < 0.05, relative to the control group). Compared with the DT group, the DT + GLN group exhibited significantly improved villus height(VH), villus width(VW), villus surface area(VSA), CD and total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC) activity(P < 0.05); the DT + ARG group exhibited significantly increased the ratio of VH to CD(H:D) and TAOC activity(P < 0.05); the DT + GLN, DT + ARG and DT + NCG groups exhibited significantly enhanced CAT activity and GSH content as well as decreased MDA content(P < 0.05). Moreover, VH, VW, VSA, CD and GSH content in the DT + GLN group were higher whereas MDA content was lower compared with the corresponding values observed in both the DT + ARG and the DT + NCG groups(P < 0.05). The H:D ratio in the DT + ARG group significantly increased compared with that in the DT + NCG and DT + GLN groups(P < 0.05). 4Roles of dietary supplementation with arginine or N-carbamylglutamate in modulating the inflammation, antioxidant property, and m RNA expression of antioxidant-relative signaling molecules in the spleen of rats under oxidative stress显示文摘This study evaluated the effects of arginine(Arg) or N-carbamylglutamate(NCG) on inflammation, antioxidant property, and antioxidant-related gene expression in rat spleen under oxidative stress. A total of 52 rats were randomly distributed into 4 treatment groups with 13 replicates per group. Rats were fed a basal diet(BD) or BD supplemented with Arg or NCG for 30 days. On day 28, half of the BD-fed rats were intraperitoneally injected with sterile saline(control group), and the other half with 12 mg/kg body weight of diquat(DT; DT group). The other 2 diet groups were intraperitoneally injected with 12 mg/kg body weight of DT with either Arg(1%)(DT t Arg) or NCG(0.1%)(DT t NCG). Rat spleen samples were collected for analysis at 48 h after DT injection. Results showed that DT damaged the antioxidant defense in rats compared with the control group(P < 0.05). Compared with the DT group, the DT t Arg and DT t NCG groups manifested improved anti-hydroxyl radical, catalase, and total superoxide dismutase(T-SOD) activities, increased glutathione content(P < 0.05), and decreased malondialdehyde content(P < 0.05).Moreover, compared with the DT group, the DT t Arg and DT t NCG groups enhanced mRNA expression of superoxide dismutase(SOD), glutathione peroxidase 1(GPx1), glutathione reductase(GR), nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2), Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1(Keap-1), and mammalian target of rapamycin(m TOR)(P < 0.05). Both NCG and Arg significantly increased anti-inflammatory cytokine mRNA level but suppressed the pro-inflammatory cytokine mRNA expression under oxidative stress(P < 0.05). In summary, NCG and Arg effectively alleviated oxidative stress, improved the antioxidant capacity and regulated the antioxidant-related signaling molecular expression in rat spleen. 5Three-dimensional-printed individualized porous implants:A new“implant-bone”interface fusion concept for large bone defect treatment显示文摘Bone defect repairs are based on bone graft fusion or replacement.Current large bone defect treatments are inadequate and lack of reliable technology.Therefore,we aimed to investigate a simple technique using three-dimensional(3D)-printed individualized porous implants without any bone grafts,osteoinductive agents,or surface biofunctionalization to treat large bone defects,and systematically study its long-term therapeutic effects and osseointegration characteristics.Twenty-six patients with large bone defects caused by tumor,infection,or trauma received treatment with individualized porous implants;among them,three typical cases underwent a detailed study.Additionally,a large segmental femur defect sheep model was used to study the osseointegration characteristics.Immediate and long-term biomechanical stability was achieved,and the animal study revealed that the bone grew into the pores with gradual remodeling,resulting in a long-term mechanically stable implant-bone complex.Advantages of 3D-printed microporous implants for the repair of bone defects included 1)that the stabilization devices were immediately designed and constructed to achieve early postoperative mobility,and 2)that osseointegration between the host bone and implants was achieved without bone grafting.Our osseointegration method,in which the“implant-bone”interface fusion concept was used instead of“bone-bone”fusion,subverts the traditional idea of osseointegration.Teng Zhang Qingguang Wei Hua Zhou Zehao Jing Xiaoguang Liu Yufeng Zheng Hong Cai Feng Wei Liang Jiang Miao Yu Yan Cheng Daoyang Fan Wenhao Zhou Xinhong Lin Huijie Leng Jian Li Xinyu Li Caimei Wang Yun Tian Zhongjun Liu 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,11:9

7Phenformin alone or combined with gefitinib inhibits bladder cancer via AMPK and EGFR pathways显示文摘Background:In previous studies,we have shown that the combination of metformin and gefitinib inhibits the growth of bladder cancer cells.Here we examined whether the metformin analogue phenformin,either used alone or in combination with gefitinib,could inhibit growth of bladder cancer cells.Methods:The growth-inhibitory effects of phenformin and gefitinib were tested in one murine and two human bladder cancer cell lines using MTT and clonogenic assays.Effects on cell migration were assessed in a wound healing assay.Synergistic action between the two drugs was assessed using CompuSyn software.The potential involvement of AMPK and EGFR pathways in the effects of phenformin and gefitinib was explored using Western blotting.Results:In MTT and clonogenic assays,phenformin was>10-fold more potent than metformin in inhibiting bladder cancer cell growth.Phenformin also potently inhibited cell migration in wound healing assays,and promoted apop-tosis.AMPK signaling was activated;EGFR signaling was inhibited.Phenformin was synergistic with gefitinib,with the combination of drugs showing much stronger anticancer activity and apoptotic activation than phenformin alone.Conclusions:Phenformin shows potential as an effective drug against bladder cancer,either alone or in combination with gefitinib.Yanjun Huang Sichun Zhou Caimei He Jun Deng Ting Tao Qiongli Su Kwame Oteng Darko Mei Peng Xiaoping Yang 2018Cancer Communications2018,38,1:5
8The compensatory phenomenon of the functional connectome related to pathological biomarkers in individuals with subjective cognitive decline显示文摘Background Subjective cognitive decline(SCD)is a preclinical stage along the Alzheimer’s disease(AD)continuum.However,little is known about the aberrant patterns of connectivity and topological alterations of the brain functional connectome and their diagnostic value in SCD.Methods Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging and graph theory analyses were used to investigate the alterations of the functional connectome in 66 SCD individuals and 64 healthy controls(HC).Pearson correlation analysis was computed to assess the relationships among network metrics,neuropsychological performance and pathological biomarkers.Finally,we used the multiple kernel learning-support vector machine(MKL-SVM)to differentiate the SCD and HC individuals.Results SCD individuals showed higher nodal topological properties(including nodal strength,nodal global efficiency and nodal local efficiency)associated with amyloid-βlevels and memory function than the HC,and these regions were mainly located in the default mode network(DMN).Moreover,increased local and medium-range connectivity mainly between the bilateral parahippocampal gyrus(PHG)and other DMN-related regions was found in SCD individuals compared with HC individuals.These aberrant functional network measures exhibited good classification performance in the differentiation of SCD individuals from HC individuals at an accuracy up to 79.23%.Conclusion The findings of this study provide insight into the compensatory mechanism of the functional connectome underlying SCD.The proposed classification method highlights the potential of connectome-based metrics for the identification of the preclinical stage of AD.Haifeng Chen Xiaoning Sheng Caimei Luo Ruomeng Qin Qing Ye Hui Zhao Yun Xu Feng Bai 2020Translational Neurodegeneration2020,9,2:5

11New insights into the role of spermine in enhancing the antioxidant capacity of rat spleen and liver under oxidative stress显示文摘Oxidative stress can damage cellular antioxidant defense and reduce livestock production efficiency.Spermine is a ubiquitous cellular component that plays important roles in stabilizing nucleic acids,modulating cell growth and differentiation, and regulating ion channel activities. Spermine has the potential to alleviate the effects of oxidative stress. However, to date no information is available about the effect of spermine administration on antioxidant property of the liver and spleen in any mammalian in vivo system. This study aims to investigate the protective effect of spermine on rat liver and spleen under oxidative stress. Rats received intragastric administration of either 0.4 μmol/g body weight of spermine or saline once a day for 3 days. The rats in each treatment were then injected with either diquat or sterile saline at 12 mg/kg body weight. Liver and spleen samples were collected 48 h after the last spermine ingestion.Results showed that regardless of diquat treatment, spermine administration significantly reduced the malondialdehyde(MDA) content by 23.78% in the liver and by 5.75% in the spleen, respectively(P < 0.05).Spermine administration also enhanced the catalase(CAT) activity, anti-hydroxyl radical(AHR) capacity and glutathione(GSH) content by 38.68%, 15.53% and 1.32% in the spleen, respectively(P< 0.05). There were interactions between spermine administration and diquat injection about anti-superoxide anion(ASA),AHR capacity, CAT activity, GSH content, and total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC) in the liver and about ASA capacity and T-AOC in the spleen of weaned rats(P < 0.05). Compared with the control group, spermine administration significantly increased the AHR capacity, CAT activity, GSH content, and T-AOC by 40.23%,31.15%, 30.25%, 35.37% in the liver, respectively(P < 0.05) and increased the T-AOC by 8% in the spleen of weaned rats(P < 0.05). 12Effects of saccharicterpenin on antioxidant status and urinary metabolic profile of rats显示文摘Saccharicterpenin is a new green additive agent that is derived from the extract of Theaceae plants and has the ability to improve immunity and meat quality, increase the digestive enzyme activity, and enhance the intestinal development and growth of animals. However, the antioxidant status and systematic changes in metabolic biochemistry associated with saccharicterpenin supplementation in animals are still unknown. This study examined the effects of saccharicterpenin on the antioxidant status and urinary metabolic profile of rats. Sixteen rats were randomly distributed to 2 groups. One group was treated with 400 mg/kg body weight of saccharicterpenin, and the other group was treated with equal amount of saline. Results revealed that saccharicterpenin significantly increased the capacities of antihydroxyl radical(13.18%) and anti-superoxide anion(14.36%), the total antioxidant capacity(48.27%),and the activities of total superoxide dismutase(3.68%), catalase(21.52%), glutathione peroxidase(5.83%)and glutathione S-transferase(29.59%)(P < 0.05). By contrast, the contents of malondialdehyde and glutathione were not significantly affected by saccharicterpenin(P > 0.05). Saccharicterpenin supplementation significantly increased the urinary levels of bile acids, ethanol. α-ketoglutarate, and a-hydroxy butyrate but decreased the level of N-acetylglutamate(P < 0.05). 13Biodegradable magnesium alloy WE43 porous scaffolds fabricated by laser powder bed fusion for orthopedic applications:Process optimization,in vitro and in vivo investigation显示文摘Laser powder bed fusion(L-PBF)of magnesium(Mg)alloy porous scaffolds is expected to solve the dual challenges from customized structures and biodegradable functions required for repairing bone defects.However,one of the key technical difficulties lies in the poor L-PBF process performance of Mg,contributed by the high susceptibility to oxidation,vaporization,thermal expansion,and powder attachment etc.This work investigated the influence of L-PBF energy input and scanning strategy on the formation quality of porous scaffolds by using WE43 powder,and characterized the microstructure,mechanical properties,biocompatibility,biodegradation and osteogenic effect of the as-built WE43 porous scaffolds.With the customized energy input and scanning strategy,the relative density of struts reached over 99.5%,and the geometrical error between the designed and the fabricated porosity declined to below 10%.Massive secondary phases including intermetallic precipitates and oxides were observed.The compressive strength(4.37-23.49 MPa)and elastic modulus(154.40-873.02 MPa)were comparable to those of cancellous bone.Good biocompatibility was observed by in vitro cell viability and in vivo implantation.The biodegradation of as-built porous scaffolds promoted the osteogenic effect,but the structural integrity devastated after 12 h by the immersion tests in Hank’s solution and after 4 weeks by the implantation in rabbits’femur,indicating an excessively rapid degradation rate.Jinge Liu Bingchun Liu Shuyuan Min Bangzhao Yin Bo Peng Zishi Yu Caimei Wang Xiaolin Ma Peng Wen Yun Tian Yufeng Zheng 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,10:4
14Similar Time Series Retrieval Using Only Important Segments显示文摘Similar time series searching plays an important role in applications such as time series classification and outlier detection. We observe that different segment of a time series may have different significance, thus propose to assign different weight to each segment, and extract those segments with highest weights for distance computation. Since these segments are more representative, we can achieve high accuracy of similarity search with much lower computation overhead. 15Low temperature preparation of flower-like BiOCl film and its photocatalytic activity显示文摘The BiOCl thin film with flower-like sphere structure was prepared at a low temperature by the alcoholysis-coating method using BiCl 3 as precursor. The obtained thin film was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), electronic energy spectrum (EDS) and ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-vis DRS). And the results showed that the obtained BiOCl film without calcination was composed of flower-like sphere structure with tetragonal phase and had a good absorption for ultraviolet. The photocatalytic activity of BiOCl thin film was also evaluated by the degradation of methyl orange in water under UV light irradiation. The degradation experimental results confirmed that the film prepared at low temperature possessed a high photocatalytic activity and could achieve 97% degradation to 10 mg/L methyl orange solution after 150 min UV light irradiation. The stability of the obtained BiOCl thin film was also good and its photocatalytic activity still remained an above 94% removal of methyl orange after being used four times. 16Clinical Features of Perforating Eye Injuries Complicated with Intraocular Foreign Bodies Located at the Posterior Global Wall显示文摘Purpose:To investigate the clinical characteristics and therapeutic effects of vitrectomy in patients with perforating eye injuries with foreign bodies at the exit wound in the posterior global wall.Methods:.Fifty-two cases,diagnosed with perforating eye injury with foreign bodies at the exit of the posterior global wall and admitted to our hospital between June 2010 and June2013,were enrolled in this study.All patients underwent vitrectomy and removal of intraocular foreign bodies and were followed up for 6 to 24 months.The causes of injuries were analyzed and postoperative visual acuity and overall treatment efficacy were evaluated.Results:Intraocular foreign bodies were successfully removed in all cases.The incidence of postoperative complication was low.Among 52 subjects,46 showed alleviated symptoms after treatment with an overall efficacy of 88.46%.Conclusion:.Perforating eye injuries combined with residual foreign bodies in the posterior global wall are commonly observed in young people who perform physical labor.Vitrectomy has a high efficacy for the treatment of perforating eye injuries complicated with foreign bodies located at the posterior global wall,with a low incidence of postoperative complications.Zufeng Huang Linxing Chen Yingyu Zeng Caimei Lin 2013Eye Science2013,28,4:3
17Spermine protects intestinal barrier integrity through ras-related C3 botulinum toxin substrate 1/phospholipase C-γ1 signaling pathway in piglets显示文摘Weaning stress can cause tight junctions damage and intestinal permeability enhancement,which leads to intestinal imbalance and growth retardation,thereby causing damage to piglet growth and development.Spermine can reduce stress.However,the mechanism of spermine modulating the intestinal integrity in pigs remains largely unknown.This study aims to examine whether spermine protects the intestinal barrier integrity of piglets through ras-related C3 botulinum toxin substrate 1(Rac1)/phospholipase C-g1(PLC-γ1)signaling pathway.In vivo,80 piglets were categorised into 4 control groups and 4 spermine groups(10 piglets per group).The piglets were fed with normal saline or spermine at 0.4 mmol/kg BW for 7 h and 3,6 and 9 d.In vitro,we investigated whether spermine protects the intestinal barrier after a tumor necrosis factor a(TNF-a)challenge through Rac1/PLC-γ1 signaling pathway.The in vivo study found that spermine supplementation increased tight junction protein mRNA levels and Rac1/PLC-γ1 signaling pathway gene expression in the jejunum of piglets.The serum D-lactate content was significantly decreased after spermine supplementation(P<0.05).The in vitro study found that 0.1 mmol/L spermine increased the levels of tight junction protein expression,Rac1/PLC-γ1 signaling pathway and transepithelial electrical resistance,and decreased paracellular permeability(P<0.05).Further experiments demonstrated that spermine supplementation enhanced the levels of tight junction protein expression,Rac1/PLC-γ1 signaling pathway and transepithelial electrical resistance,and decreased paracellular permeability compared with the NSC-23766 and U73122 treatment with spermine after TNF-a challenge(P<0.05).Collectively,spermine protects intestinal barrier integrity through Rac1/PLC-γ1 signaling pathway in piglets.Guangmang Liu Xiaomei Xu Caimei Wu Gang Jia Hua Zhao Xiaoling Chen Gang Tian Jingyi Cai Jing Wang 2022Animal Nutrition2022,,1:2
18Surface treatment of 3D printed porous Ti6Al4V implants by ultraviolet photofunctionalization for improved osseointegration显示文摘Three-dimensional(3D)-printed porous Ti6Al4V implants play an important role in the reconstruction of bone defects.However,its osseointegration capacity needs to be further improved,and related methods are inadequate,especially lacking customized surface treatment technology.Consequently,we aimed to design an omnidirectional radiator based on ultraviolet(UV)photofunctionalization for the surface treatment of 3D-printed porous Ti6Al4V implants,and studied its osseointegration promotion effects in vitro and in vivo,while elucidating related mechanisms.Following UV treatment,the porous Ti6Al4V scaffolds exhibited significantly improved hydrophilicity,cytocompatibility,and alkaline phosphatase activity,while preserving their original mechanical properties.The increased osteointegration strength was further proven using a rabbit condyle defect model in vivo,in which UV treatment exhibited a high efficiency in the osteointegration enhancement of porous Ti6Al4V scaffolds by increasing bone ingrowth(BI),the bone-implant contact ratio(BICR),and the mineralized/osteoid bone ratio.The advantages of UV treatment for 3D-printed porous Ti6Al4V implants using the omnidirectional radiator in the study were as follows:1)it can significantly improve the osseointegration capacity of porous titanium implants despite the blocking out of UV rays by the porous structure;2)it can evenly treat the surface of porous implants while preserving their original topography or other morphological features;and 3)it is an easy-to-operate low-cost process,making it worthy of wide clinical application.Chuan Yin Teng Zhang Qingguang Wei Hong Cai Yan Cheng Yun Tian Huijie Leng Caimei Wang Shiqing Feng Zhongjun Liu 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,1:2
19Transfer of β-hydroxy-β-methylbutyrate from sows to their offspring and its impact on muscle fiber type transformation and performance in pigs显示文摘Background: Previous studies suggested that supplementation of lactating sows with β-hydroxy-β-methylbutyrate(HMB) could improve the performance of weaning pigs, but there were little information in the muscle fiber type transformation of the offspring and the subsequent performance in pigs from weaning through finishing in response to maternal HMB consumption. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of supplementing lactating sows with HMB on skeletal muscle fiber type transformation and growth of the offspring during d 28 and180 after birth. A total of 20 sows according to their body weight were divided into the control(CON, n = 10) or HMB groups(HMB, n = 10). Sows in the HMB group were supplemented with β-hydroxy-β-methylbutyrate calcium(HMB-Ca) 2 g/kg feed during d 1 to 27 of lactation. After weaning, 48 mixed sex piglets were blocked by sow treatment and fed standard diets for post-weaning, growing, finishing periods. Growth performance was recorded during d 28 to 180 after birth. Pigs were slaughtered on d 28(n = 6/treatment) and 180(n = 6/treatment) postnatal and the longissimus dorsi(LD) was collected, respectively.Results: The HMB-fed sows during lactation showed increased HMB concentration(P < 0.05) in milk and LD of weaning piglets(P < 0.05). In addition, offsprings in HMB group had a higher finishing BW and lean percentage than did pigs in CON group(P < 0.05), meanwhile, compared with pigs from sows fed the CON diet, pigs from sows fed HMB diet showed higher type Ⅱ muscle fiber cross-sectional area(CSA), elevated myosin heavy chain(MyHC) Ⅱb and Sox6 mRNA, and fast-MyHC protein levels in LD(P < 0.05).Conclusions: HMB supplemented to sow diets throughout lactation increases the levels of HMB in maternal milk and skeletal muscle of pigs during d 28 after birth and promotes subsequent performance of pigs between d 28 and 180 of age by enhancing glycolytic muscle fiber transformation.Haifeng Wan Jiatao Zhu Caimei Wu Pan Zhou Yong Shen Yan Lin Shengyu Xu Lianqiang Che Bin Feng Jian Li Zhengfeng Fang De Wu 2017Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2017,8,2:2
20Citric acid-assisted synthesis of nano-Ag/BiO Br with enhanced photocatalytic activity显示文摘In this study, silver nano-particles have been anchored in the surface of Bi OBr photocatalysts by a citric acid-assisted photoreduction method. The citric acid was served as a chelating and reductive agent for the preparation of Ag-decorated Bi OBr photocatalysts(named as Ag/Bi OBr-2). The as-synthesized samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), and UV-Vis diffuse reflection spectroscopy(DRS). The Ag/Bi OBr-2 photocatalyst exhibited excellent and stable photocatalytic activities on MO and phenol degradation under simulated sunlight irradiation. The enhanced photocatalytic activity could be ascribed to the smaller size, rough surface, and the surface plasma resonance(SPR) effect of Ag. Also, the Schottky junction, between the surface of the Bi OBr and silver nanoparticles, accelerated the efficient transfer and separation of photoinduced electron-hole pairs and promoted the photocatalytic performance. The active species tests indicated that the superoxide radical(·O-2) was responsible for the enhanced photocatalytic performance of Ag/Bi OBr-2.
