1Bias-drift-free Mach–Zehnder modulators based on a heterogeneous silicon and lithium niobate platform显示文摘Optical modulators have been and will continue to be essential devices for energy-and cost-efficient optical communication networks.Heterogeneous silicon and lithium niobate modulators have demonstrated promising performances of low optical loss,low drive voltage,and large modulation bandwidth.However,DC bias drift is a major drawback of optical modulators using lithium niobate as the active electro-optic material.Here,we demonstrate high-speed and bias-drift-free Mach–Zehnder modulators based on the heterogeneous silicon and lithium niobate platform.The devices combine stable thermo-optic DC biases in silicon and ultra-fast electro-optic modulation in lithium niobate,and exhibit a low insertion loss of 1.8 d B,a low half-wave voltage of 3 V,an electro-optic modulation bandwidth of at least 70 GHz,and modulation data rates up to 128 Gb/s.SHIHAO SUN MINGBO HE MENGYUE XU SHENGQIAN GAO ZIYAN CHEN XIAN ZHANG ZILIANG RUAN XIONG WU LIDAN ZHOU LIN LIU CHAO LU CHANGJIAN GUO LIU LIU SIYUAN YU XINLUN CAI 2020Photonics Research2020,8,12:5
2First experimental constraints on WIMP couplings in the effective field theory framework from CDEX显示文摘We present weakly interacting massive particles(WIMPs) search results performed using two approaches of effective field theory from the China Dark Matter Experiment(CDEX), based on the data from both CDEX-1B and CDEX-10 stages. In the nonrelativistic effective field theory approach, both time-integrated and annual modulation analyses were used to set new limits for the coupling of WIMP-nucleon effective operators at 90% confidence level(C.L.) and improve over the current bounds in the low mχregion. In the chiral effective field theory approach, data from CDEX-10 were used to set an upper limit on WIMP-pion coupling at 90% C.L. 3Single-step chemistry model and transport coefficient model for hydrogen combustion显示文摘To satisfy the needs of large-scale hydrogen combustion and explosion simulation,a method is presented to establish single-step chemistry model and transport model for fuel-air mixture.If the reaction formula for hydrogen-air mixture is H2+0.5O2→H2O,the reaction rate model is ?? =1.13×10?5[H2][O2]exp(?46.37T0/T) mol(cm3 s)?1,and the transport coefficient model is ?=K/CP=ρD=7.0×10?5T 0.7 g(cm s)?1.By using current models and the reference model to simulate steady Zeldovich-von Neumann-Doering(ZND) wave and free-propagating laminar flame,it is found that the results are well agreeable.Additionally,deflagration-to-detonation transition in an obstructed channel was also simulated.The numerical results are also well consistent with the experimental results.These provide a reasonable proof for current method and new models.WEN Jennifer WANG ChangJian LU ShouXiang GUO Jin 2012Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,8:3
4Genome-wide association study and transcriptome analysis reveal new QTL and candidate genes for nitrogen-deficiency tolerance in rice显示文摘The development of rice cultivars with improved nitrogen use efficiency(NUE)is desirable for sustainable agriculture.Achieving this goal depends in part on understanding how rice responds to low soil nitrogen(N)and identifying causative genes underlying this trait.To identify quantitative trait loci(QTL)or genes associated with low N response,we conducted a genome-wide association study(GWAS)using a diverse panel of 230 rice accessions and performed a transcriptomic investigation of rice accessions with differential responses to low N stress at two N levels.We detected 411 GWAS-associated genes in 5 QTL and 2722 differentially expressed genes in response to low N,of which 24 were identified by both methods and ranked according to gene annotations,literature queries,gene expression,and genetic diversity analysis.The large-scale datasets obtained from this study reveal low N-responsive characteristics and provide insights towards understanding the regulatory mechanisms of N-deficiency tolerance in rice,and the candidate genes or QTL would be valuable resources for increasing rice NUE via molecular biotechnology.Qing Li Xueli Lu Changjian Wang Lan Shen Liping Dai Jinli He Long Yang Peiyuan Li Yifeng Hong Qiang Zhang Guojun Dong Jiang Hu Guangheng Zhang Deyong Ren Zhenyu Gao Longbiao Guo Qian Qian Li Zhu Dali Zeng 2022The Crop Journal2022,10,4:3
5Four-channel CWDM device on a thin-film lithium niobate platform using an angled multimode interferometer structure显示文摘A compact and high-performance coarse wavelength-division multiplexing(CWDM) device is introduced with a footprint of 2.1 mm × 0.02 mm using an angled multimode interferometer structure based on a thin-film lithium niobate(TFLN) platform.The demonstrated device built on a 400 nm thick x-cut TFLN shows ultra-low insertion losses of <0.72 dB.Measured 3 dB bandwidths are 12.1 nm for all channels,and cross talks from adjacent channels are better than 18 dB.Its peak wavelength positions comply with the CWDM standard with a channel spacing of 20 nm.The filter bandwidth of the proposed CWDM device can be tuned by adjusting the structural parameters.This demonstrated CWDM device will promote future realization of multi-channel and multi-wavelength transmitter chips on TFLN.GENGXIN CHEN ZILIANG RUAN ZONG WANG PUCHENG HUANG CHANGJIAN GUO DAOXIN DAI KAIXUAN CHEN LIU LIU 2022Photonics Research2022,10,1:2

8Experimental study of flame spread over oil floating on water显示文摘The phenomena and mechanism of flame spread over oil floating on water were studied using temperature measurements made by fine thermocouples and an infrared camera,schlieren images of surface convection and video recordings of flame spread.The experimental results reveal that the floating-oil depth greatly affects the average rate of flame spread and average flame pulsation wavelength.The surface tension effect is the main cause of surface convection,which controls flame spread.Momentum loss and heat loss from forward-flowing hot oil to water play an important role in retarding flame spread for oil thicknesses less than about 8 mm.GUO Jin LU ShouXiang ZHOU JieBo LI ManHou WANG ChangJian 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,9:1
9Self-extinguishing behavior of Kerosene Spray Fire in a Completely Enclosed Compartment显示文摘The self-extinguishing behavior of kerosene spray fire was investigated in a completely enclosed compartment with the size of 3 m × 3 m × 3.4 m.The spray was generated by locating one BETE nozzle at the center of the bottom wall.A series of spray fire videos were obtained by changing BETE nozzle type and injecting pressure.The results show that spray fire undergoes four stages: the growth stage,the quasi-steady stage,the stretch stage and the self-extinguishing stage.Consumption of large quantities of oxygen causes spray fire to first be stretched and then quench.In this process,fire base migrates away from spray region and leads to the emergence of ghosting fire.Ghosting fire promotes the instability of spray fire and large fluctuation of its height,which provides help to its self-extinguishing.With increasing the injecting pressure or the nozzle diameter,the self-extinguishing time decreases.It is found that the self-extinguishing time is approximately in inverse relation with injecting flow rate.Additionally,we also observed the occurrence of two-phase deflagration just after ignition,and it accelerates the spray fire growth and induces a larger fire height than the following quasi-steady spray fire.The deflagration turns stronger with increasing the injecting pressure.Changjian Wang Jin Guo Weigang Yan Shouxiang Lu 2013Journal of Thermal Science2013,22,5:0
10Versatile SrFeO_(x) for memristive neurons and synapses显示文摘Spiking neural network(SNN)consisting of memristor-based artificial neurons and synapses has emerged as a compact and energy-efficient hardware solution for spatiotemporal information processing.However,it is challenging to develop memristive neurons and synapses based on the same material system because the required resistive switching(RS)characteristics are different.Here,it is shown that SrFeO_(x)(SFO),an intriguing material system exhibiting topotactic phase transformation between insulating brownmillerite(BM)SrFeO_(2).5 phase and conductive perovskite(PV)SrFeO_(3) phase,can be engineered into both neuronal and synaptic devices.Using a BM-SFO single layer as the RS medium,the Au/BM-SFO/SrRuO_(3)(SRO)memristor exhibits nonvolatile RS behavior originating from the formation/rupture of PV-SFO filaments in the BM-SFO matrix.By contrast,using a PV-SFO(matrix)/BM-SFO(interfacial layer)bilayer as the RS medium,the Au/PV-SFO/BM-SFO/SRO memristor exhibits volatile RS behavior originating from the interfacial BM-PV phase transformation.Synaptic and neuronal characteristics are further demonstrated in the Au/BM-SFO/SRO and Au/PV-SFO/BM-SFO/SRO memristors,respectively.Using the SFO-based synapses and neurons,fully memristive SNNs are constructed by simulation,which show good performance on unsupervised image recognition.Our study suggests that SFO is a versatile material platform on which both neuronal and synaptic devices can be developed for constructing fully memristive SNNs.Kaihui Chen Zhen Fan Jingjing Rao Wenjie Li Deming Wang Changjian Li Gaokuo Zhong Ruiqiang Tao Guo Tian Minghui Qin Min Zeng Xubing Lu Guofu Zhou Xingsen Gao Jun-Ming Liu 2022Journal of Materiomics2022,8,5:0
11Experimental Study on Spark Ignition of Non-premixed Hydrogen Jets显示文摘The leaks of pressurized hydrogen can be ignited if an ignition source is within a certain distance from the source of the leaks, and jet fires or explosions may take place. In this paper, a high speed camera was used to investigate the ignition kernel development, ignition probability and flame propagation along the axis of hydrogen jets, which leaked from a 3-mm-internal-diameter nozzle and were ignited by an electric spark. Experimental results indicate that for successful ignition events, the ignition delay time increases with an increase of the distance between the nozzle and the electrode. Ignitable zone of the hydrogen jets is underestimated if using the predicted hydrogen concentration along the jets centerline. 12Flame Spread over Aviation Kerosene with an Obstacle in Liquid Phase显示文摘The phenomena of flame spread over aviation kerosene with an obstacle in liquid phase are investigated experimentally through surface temperature measurement by using infrared camera,schlieren images of subsurface flow in front of and behind obstacle and residence time of flame obtained from video recording.Experimental results reveal that obstacle has no effect on gas phase controlled flame spread.But for liquid phase controlled flame spread,flame can be stopped by an obstacle with its top edge flush with oil surface,and the residence time decreases with the increase of initial temperature of fuel.That conduction and radiation only play a subsidiary role in flame spread over liquid fuel was proved by schlieren images and surface temperature profiles.Jin GUO Shouxiang LU Manhou LI Changjian WANG 2011Journal of Thermal Science2011,20,6:0
