Textbook Outcome as a measure of surgical quality assessment and prognosis in gastric neuroendocrine carcinoma:A large multicenter sample analysis显示文摘Objective:Quality assurance is crucial for oncological surgical treatment assessment. For rare diseases, singlequality indicators are not enough. We aim to develop a comprehensive and reproducible measurement, called the'Textbook Outcome'(TO),to assess the quality of surgical treatment and prognosis of gastric neuroendocrine carcinoma(G-NEC)patients.Methods:Data from patients with primary diagnosed G-NEC included in 24 high-volume Chinese hospitals from October 2005 to September 2018 were analyzed.TO included receiving a curative resection,≥15 lymph nodes examined,no severe postoperative complications, hospital stay≤21 d,and no hospital readmission≤30 d after discharge.Hospital variation in TO was analyzed using a case mix-adjusted funnel plot.Prognostic factors of survival and risk factors for non-Textbook Outcome(non-TO)were analyzed using Cox and logistic models, respectively. Results:TO was achieved in 56.6%of 860 G-NEC patients.TO patients had better overall survival(OS),disease-free survival(DFS),and recurrence-free survival(RFS)than non-TO patients(P<0.05).Moreover,TO patients accounted for 60.3%of patients without recurrence.Multivariate Cox analysis revealed non-TO as an independent risk factor for OS,DFS,and RFS of G-NEC patients(P<0.05).Increasing TO rates were associated with improved OS for G-NEC patients, but not hospital volume.Multivariate logistic regression revealed that nonlower tumors, open surgery,and>200 mL blood loss were independent risk factors for non-TO patients(P<0.05).Conclusions:TO is strongly associated with multicenter surgical quality and prognosis for G-NEC patients.Factors predicting non-TO are identified, which may help guide strategies to optimize G-NEC outcomes. | Qiyue Chen Zhongliang Ning Zhiyu Liu Yanbing Zhou Qingliang He Yantao Tian Hankun Hao Wei Lin Lixin Jiang Gang Zhao Ping Li Chaohui Zheng Changming Huang on behalf of the Study Group for Gastric Neuroendocrine Tumors | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2021,33,4: | 2
Application of artificial intelligence in tongue diagnosis of traditional Chinese medicine:A review显示文摘Tongue diagnosis is an important process to non-invasively assess the condition of a patient’s internal organs in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)and each part of the tongue is related to corresponding internal organs.Due to continuing computer technological advances, especially the artificial intelligence(AI)methods have achieved significant success in tackling tongue image acquisition, processing, and classification, novel AI methods are being introduced in traditional Chinese medicine tongue diagnosis medical practices.Traditional tongue diagnose depends on observations of tongue characteristics, such as color, shape, texture, moisture, etc.by traditional Chinese medicine physicians. The appearance of the tongue color, texture and coating reflects the improvement or deterioration of patient’s conditions. Moreover,AI can now distinguish patient’s condition through tongue images, texture or coating, which is all possible increasingly with help from traditional Chinese medicine physicians under the traditional Chinese medicine tongue theory.AI has enabled humans to do what was previously unimagined:traditional Chinese medicine tongue diagnosis with feeding a large amount of tongue image and tongue texture/coating data to train the AI modes. This review focuses on the research advances of AI in TCM tongue diagnosis thus far to identify the major scientific methods and prospects. In this article,we tried to review the AI application in resolving the tongue diagnosis of traditional Chinese medicine on color correction, tongue image extraction, tongue texture/coating segmentation. | Zhao Chen Xiaoyu Zhang Ruijin Qiu Yang Sun Rui Zheng Haie Pan Yin Jiang Changming Zhong Chen Zhao Guihua Tian Hongcai Shang | 2021 | TMR Modern Herbal Medicine2021,4,2: | 2

Photoisomerization, assembling and fluorescence photoswitching behaviors of a water-soluble stiff-stilbene with cucurbit[7]uril显示文摘Photoresponsive supramolecular systems have merited extensive attention for their applications in materials science and life science. Here,we synthesized a water-soluble stiff-stilbene molecular photoswitch, exhibiting outstanding photoisomerization reaction between its(E)-and(Z)-configurations upon irradiation at distinct light. The photoswitch can assemble with cucurbit[7]uril(CB[7])to form a superior fluorescent supramolecular complex(compared to the only guest)with excellent water solubility, which manifested dramatic photoluminescence enhancement caused by restriction of intramolecular rotation and remained good photochromic characteristics.Furthermore, introduction of CB[7]influence photoreaction quantum yield(Φ)of the stiff-stilbene,leading to reduction ofΦ_(E→Z) and increase ofΦ_(Z→E) of the stiff-stilbene.Importantly,the photoadjustable supramolecular assembly can act as a fluorescence switch, and the phototunable guest further selectively modulate G-quadruplex structure of Tel22 upon light irradiation or with addition of CB[7].The study provides a new simple way for accurately regulating photochromic properties of molecular switches and developing smart materials with potential applications in controlled modulation of G-quadruplex,targeted biological imaging and so on. | Liangru Yang Yixin Li Haifan Zhang Changming Tian Qiaohong Cao Yongmei Xiao Libo Yuan Guoxing Liu | 2023 | Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,8: | 0
Numerical study of the seasonal salinity budget of the upper ocean in the Bay of Bengal in 2014显示文摘Impact factors on the salinity budget, especially the eddy salt fluxes and smaller-scale diffusive salt fluxes for the upper 50 m of the Bay of Bengal(BoB) in 2014 are investigated using a box model based on the Regional Ocean Modeling System(ROMS) daily outputs. The model results reproduce that the precipitation and river runoff s are the dominant factors modulating the sharp salinity decrease during the summer monsoon season. The analysis shows that the salinity increase after the summer monsoon is mostly due to the meridional advective and diffusive salt fluxes. The vertical advective salt flux, which is sensitive to the different signals of the wind stress curl, plays an important role in balancing the salinity change induced by the meridional advective salt flux during both the summer and winter monsoon seasons. Distinctive spatial mesoscale structures are presented in the eddy salt flux throughout the year, and their contributions are sizeable(over 30% in the meridional direction and about 10%–30% in the vertical direction). The meridional eddy salt flux is larger in the monsoon seasons than that in the inter-monsoon seasons, and in a positive pattern near the western boundary during the winter monsoon and autumn inter-monsoon. The vertical eddy salt flux makes an important contribution to the salinity budget, especially along the coastal area and around the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The vertical eddy salt flux becomes large when a tropical cyclone passes the area. | Qingyue WANG Changming DONG Junde LI Jingsong YANG Qing TIAN | 2021 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2021,39,4: | 0
Genome-Wide Identification, Evolution and Expression Analyses of GA2ox Gene Family in Brassica napus L.显示文摘Gibberellin 2-oxidases(GA2ox)are important enzymes that maintain the balance of bioactive GAs in plants.GA2ox genes have been identified and characterized in many plants, but these genes were not investigated in Brassica napus. Here,we identified 31 GA2ox genes in B.napus and 15 of these BnaGA2ox genes were distributed in the A and C subgenomes.Subcellular localization predictions suggested that all BnaGA2ox proteins were localized in the cytoplasm, and gene structure analysis showed that the BnaGA2ox genes contained 2–4 exons.Phylogenetic analysis indicated that BnGA2ox family proteins in monocotyledons and dicotyledons can be divided into four groups, including two C_(19)-GA2ox and two C_(20)-GA2ox clades.Group 4 is a C_(20)-GA2ox Class discovered recently. Most BnaGA2ox genes had a syntenic relationship with AtGA2ox genes.BnaGA2ox genes in the C subgenome had experienced stronger selection pressure than genes in the A subgenome.BnaGA2ox genes were highly expressed in specific tissues such as those involved in growth and development, and most of them were mainly involved in abiotic responses, regulation of phytohormones and growth and development. Our study provided a valuable evolutionary analysis of GA2ox genes in monocotyledons and dicotyledons,as well as an insight into the biological functions of GA2ox family genes in B.napus. | Yanhua Li Hualei Huang Youming Shi Shuqin Huang Tao Liu Changming Xiao Xiaoqing Tian Ping Zhao Xiaoyan Dai Taocui Huang Yan Zhou | 2023 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2023,92,3: | 0
