1Speciation and fractionation of heavy metals in soil experimentally contaminated with Pb, Cd, Cu and Zn together and effects on soil negative surface charge显示文摘Speciation and fractionation of heavy metals in soil subsamples experimentally loaded with Pb, Cd, Cu and Zn in orthogonal design was investigated by sequential extraction, and operationally defined as water soluble and exchangeable(SE), weakly specific adsorbed(WSA), Fe and Mn oxides bound(OX) and organic bound(ORG). The results showed that fractions of heavy metals in the soil subsamples depended on their speciation. About 90% of Cd and 75% of Zn existed in soil subsamples in the SE fraction. Lead and Cu existed in soil subsamples as SE, WSA and OX fractions simultaneously, although SE was still the major fraction. Organic bound heavy metals were not clearly apparent in all the soil subsamples. The concentration of some heavy metal fractions in soil subsamples showed the good correlation with ionic impulsion of soil, especially for the SE fraction. Continuous saturation of soil subsamples with 0.20 mol/L NH 4Cl, which is the first step for determination of the negative surface charge of soil by the ion retention method, resulted in desorption of certain heavy metals from the soil. It was found that the percentage desorption of heavy metals from soil subsamples depended greatly on pH, the composition and original heavy metal content of the soil subsamples. However, most of the heavy metals in the soil subsamples were still be retained after multiple saturation. Compared with the parent soil, the negative surface charge of soil subsamples loaded with heavy metals did not show difference significantly from that of the parent one by statistical analysis. 3Optimal Waist Circumference Cut-off values for Identifying Metabolic Risk Factors in Middle-aged and Elderly Subjects in Shandong Province of China显示文摘Objective To study the optimal waist circumference(WC) cut-off values for identifying metabolic risk factors in middle-aged and elderly subjects in Shandong Province of China. Methods A total of 2 873 men and 5 559 women were included in this cross-sectional study. Metabolic syndrome(MetS) was diagnosed according to the definition of Chinese Diabetes Society in 2004. The relation between WC and MetS was analyzed by multivariate logistic regression analysis. The optimal WC cut-off values were identified using the area under the ROC curve and the different diagnostic criteria for central obesity were compared. Results The WC was the risk factor for MetS independent of BMI, blood glucose, blood lipid, and blood pressure. The optimal WC cut-off value was 83.8 cm and 91.1 cm for identifying MetS in women and men, respectively. Compared with 80 cm and 85 cm for women and men, 85 cm and 90 cm had a higher Youden index for identifying all metabolic risk factors and MetS in women and men. 4Synthesis and Adsorption Properties of Chelating Resins Containing Sulfoxide and Heterocyclic Functional Groups显示文摘Several of new chelating resins containing sulfoxide and heterocyclic functional groups (3-aminopyridine and 2-mercaptobenzothiazole) based on macroporous chloromethylated polystyrene were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis and infrared spectra. Their adsorption capacities towards Zn2+, Cu2+, Pb2+, Hg2+ and Ag+ at pH 3.0 and 6.0 were investigated in detail. 6In situ High-pressure NMR Observations on the Formation and Dissociation of Methane Hydrate显示文摘A home-made static NMR cell with pressure up to 10 MPa was employed to observe the formation and dissociation processes of methane hydrate by in situ 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopies. Methane hydrate can be formed or decomposed in the temperature range of -5 to -13°C at pressures between 4.0 and 7.0 MPa. The higher methane pressure, the formation or dissociation temperature of methane hydrate was higher. 10Cadmium Accumulation and Its Toxicity in Brittle Culm 1(bc1),a Fragile Rice Mutant显示文摘Cadmium (Cd) accumulation and toxicity in rice plants were characterized and identified by using brittle culm 1 (bc1), a fragile rice mutant and its wild type (Shuangkezao, an indica rice) as materials by hydroponics. The low Cd level didn't obviously affect the growth parameters in both rice genotypes, but under high Cd levels (1.0 and 5.0 μmol/L), the growth of both rice plants were substantially inhibited. Moreover, bc1 tended to suffer more seriously from Cd toxicity than Shuangkezao. Cd accumulation in both rice plants increased with the increase of Cd levels. There was a significant difference in Cd accumulation between the two rice genotypes with constantly higher Cd concentration in bc1, which also accumulated more Cd at 0, 0.1, and 1.0 μmol/L Cd levels. The same case was found in the two rice plants grown on Cd-contaminated soil. This suggested that cell wall might play an important role in Cd accumulation in rice plants by the physiological mechanisms. The malondialdehyde (MDA) content, superoxide dismutase (SOD) and peroxidase (POD) activities in rice plants were affected differently under Cd treatments, and which implied that POD might play the main role in detoxifying active oxygen free radical. A significant difference in antioxidative system between the two rice genotypes was found with constantly higher MDA content, SOD and POD activities in bc1. 14Determination of trace calcium by solid substrate-room temperature phosphorimetry显示文摘A new method for the determination of trace calcium by solid substrate-room temperature phosphorimetry is established. It is based on the fact that chromeazurols azurol S-phenanthroline-NaCMC (CAS-phen-NaCMC) system can emit strong and stable room temperature phosphorescence (RTF) on the solid substrate in the filter paper. Ca2+ and phenanthroline can form complex ion Ca(phen)32+, which will form complex [Ca(phen)3(CAS)2] with CAS. 16METTL14 upregulates m6A modification of pri‑miR‑141 inhibiting ZEB1 to promote proliferation and inflammation of lung fibroblasts显示文摘Objective: To explore whether METTL14 is involved in regulating the fibroblast proliferation and inflammatory cytokine secretion by regulating the m6A modification of pri‑miR‑141. Methods: MRC‑5 cells were transfected via METTL14 overexpression lentivirus to increase METTL14 expression. Levels of METTL14 and ZEB1 were measured by qPCR and western blot. The effect of METTL14 on MRC‑5 proliferation and apoptosis was determined by CCK‑8 and flow cytometry, respectively. The ELISA kits of IL‑2, IL6 and TNF‑α were used to detect the effect of METTL14 on MRC‑5 inflammatory secretion. m6A modification site on pri‑miR‑141 was detected by meRIP. The binding site between pri‑miR‑141 and METTL14 was determined by RIP. Results: We successfully upregulated METTL14 expression in MRC‑5 cells. Elevated METTL14 promoted MRC‑5 cell proliferation, suppressed its apoptosis and promoted inflammatory factors secretion in MRC‑5 cells. pri‑miR‑141 had m6A modification sites. pri‑miR‑141 can directly bind to METTL14. METTL14 upregulation increased miR‑141 while suppressed ZEB1 expression.
