1CodeHop: physical layer error correction and encryption with LDPC-based code hopping显示文摘This paper proposes a novel scheme named Code Hop, which provides both information reliability and security using code hopping based on low-density parity-check(LDPC) codes. In contrast to traditional systems that perform error correction and encryption at different layers, Code Hop combines these two operations into a single step at physical layer, such that each plaintext message is jointly encoded and encrypted by a hopping parity-check matrix. According to a pseudo-random number generator(PRNG), the hopping matrix may rapidly switch among a sequence of LDPC parity-check matrices, which is randomly generated by a structured-random protograph expanding technique. Simulations show that reliable communication can be achieved by Code Hop with good error-correcting performance. In the meantime, Code Hop may improve the security of traditional systems such as GSM. Taking the A5/1 stream cipher used in GSM as the PRNG, it is shown that Code Hop is resistant to existing chosen-plaintext attacks that break A5/1 cipher already. 2Quantum-safe cryptography:crossroads of coding theory and cryptography显示文摘We present an overview of quantum-safe cryptography(QSC)with a focus on post-quantum cryptography(PQC)and information-theoretic security.From a cryptographic point of view,lattice and code-based schemes are among the most promising PQC solutions.Both approaches are based on the hardness of decoding problems of linear codes with different metrics.From an information-theoretic point of view,lattices and linear codes can be constructed to achieve certain secrecy quantities for wiretap channels as is intrinsically classical-and quantum-safe.Historically,coding theory and cryptography are intimately connected since Shannon’s pioneering studies but have somehow diverged later.QSC offers an opportunity to rebuild the synergy of the two areas,hopefully leading to further development beyond the NIST PQC standardization process.In this paper,we provide a survey of lattice and code designs that are believed to be quantum-safe in the area of cryptography or coding theory.The interplay and similarities between the two areas are discussed.We also conclude our understandings and prospects of future research after NIST PQC standardisation.Jiabo WANG Ling LIU Shanxiang LYU Zheng WANG Mengfan ZHENG Fuchun LIN Zhao CHEN Liuguo YIN Xiaofu WU Cong LING 2022Science China(Information Sciences)2022,65,1:1

13Generalized sparse codes for non-Gaussian channels:Code design,algorithms,and applications显示文摘In this paper,generalized sparse(GS)codes are proposed to support reliable and efficient transmission over non-Gaussian channels.Specifically,by expanding the single-parity check(SPC)code constraints with powerful algebraic codes,GS codes generalize conventional sparse codes with enhanced error-correcting capability,as well as better code design flexibility by covering a wide range of block-lengths and coding rates with reduced encoding/decoding complexity.Moreover,by introducing a universal communication channel model,a general framework for performance analysis and code design of GS codes is formulated,by which the coding parameters can be optimized for different target channel conditions.Finally,example codes are constructed for several critical application scenarios with non-Gaussian channels.Numerical simulations are performed to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed GS coding scheme to traditional channel coding schemes.Zhao Chen Zhen Sun Yukui Pei Liuguo Yin 2022Fundamental Research2022,2,2:0
14A NEW UEP SCHEME FOR ROBUST VIDEO TRANSMISSION IN LDPC CODED MIMO-OFDM SYSTEM显示文摘In order to improve the video transmission performance in Multiple-Input Multiple-Output Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) system,a new scheme,which integrates Multiple Description Coding (MDC),Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) coding and hybrid space time coding,is proposed in this letter. In particular,a hybrid space time coding algorithm is combined with LDPC codes to perform Unequal Error Protection (UEP) of MDC encoded video streams.
