1Risk assessment and validation of flood disaster based on fuzzy mathematics显示文摘Floods often take place around rivers and plains,which indicates a higher risk of flooding in these areas.This paper adopts fuzzy comprehensive assessment(FCA),simple fuzzy classification(SFC),and the fuzzy similarity method(FSM) to assess flood disaster risk in Kelantan,Malaysia.Validation data,such as the flooded area,paddy area,urban area,residential area,and refuges,were overlaid to validate and analyze the accuracy of flood disaster risk.The results show that(1) 70-75% of flooded areas lie within the higher and high-est risk zones,which shows an effective assessment accuracy;(2) paddy,built-up,and residential areas concentrated in the higher and highest risk zones are more likely to be destroyed by flood disasters;(3) 200-225 refuges in the higher and highest risk zones account for around 50% of all refuges,which means that more refuges should be built in the higher and highest risk zones to meet the accommodation requirement;(4) three methods proved to be feasible and effective in evaluating flood disaster risk,among which FCA is more suitable for the study area than the two other methods.Weiguo Jiang Lei Deng Luyao Chen Jianjun Wu Jing Li 2009Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2009,19,10:35

6中医药治疗高血压作用机制的研究进展显示文摘高血压是一种以体循环动脉压升高为主要临床表现的疾病,其发病机制复杂。随着近年来中医药事业的发展,中医药治疗高血压不仅能够控制血压,在改善症状、提高患者生活质量等方面也起到良好作用。其作用机制主要有:(1)对肾素血管紧张素醛固酮系统(RAAS)的作用:中医药主要通过抑制肾素的作用、抑制血管紧张素转换酶的活性、拮抗血管紧张素Ⅱ(AngⅡ)受体3个关键点,下调心脏糜蛋白酶信号通路,下调AngⅡ1型受体(AT1R)的mRNA表达而控制血压水平;(2)抑制血管运动中枢和抑制交感神经或阻断神经节的作用,从而抑制交感神经活动;(3)内皮功能障碍是高血压发生发展的重要原因之一,保护血管内皮是防治高血压的关键。中医药能够通过磷脂酰肌醇3激酶(PI3K)/蛋白激酶B(Akt)/哺乳动物雷帕霉素靶蛋白(mTOR)/缺氧诱导因子(HIF)信号通路上调内皮型一氧化氮合酶(eNOS)的表达,增加Krüppel样因子4(KLF4)磷酸化促进内皮细胞增殖,从而改善血管内皮功能,具有减少血管内皮细胞黏附分子(CD54、CD62P)的表达,抑制白细胞和内皮细胞黏附及抑制血管壁炎症等作用;(4)中医药可以上调PI3Kp85mRNA和胰岛素受体底物1(IRS1)蛋白,从而改善胰岛素抵抗进而稳定血压;(5)中医药干预高血压与细胞膜离子通道的作用主要通过开放ATP敏感性钾通道(KATP)、内向整流钾通道(Kir)和电压门控钾通道(Kv)等诱导血管舒张功能、参与Ca^(2+)/一氧化氮/环磷酸鸟苷(cGMP)通路引起血管内皮舒张从而控制血压。Rongzhong Xu Weiguo Chen 2017中华高血压杂志2017,25,2:15
7Effects of Nogo-neutralizing antibody and neurotrophin-3 on axonal regeneration following spinal cord injury in rats显示文摘BACKGROUND: Recent studies have suggested that regeneration of the central nerve fiber following spinal cord injury occurs under specific conditions. OBJECTIVE: To study the effects of Nogo-neutralizing antibody (IN-1), in combination with neurotrophin-3 (NT-3), on axonal regeneration and motor function following spinal cord injury in the rat. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A randomized, controlled, animal study combining immunohistochemistry was performed at the Laboratory of Neuroanatomy of Xiangya Medical College, and Central Laboratory of Xiangya the Third Hospital, Central South University from January 2006 to December 2007. MATERIALS: Eighteen healthy, Sprague Dawley rats were randomly divided into three groups, with six rats per group: control, IN-1, and IN-1/NT-3. Hemisectioned spinal cord injury models were established by cutting the posterior 2/3 of spinal cord, which is equivalent to the T8 level. METHODS: A polyethylene tubing was inserted through into subarachnoid cavity, equivalent to the superior margin at the T8 level. Saline, IN-1, and IN-1/NT-3 were respectively injected into control, IN-1, and IN-1/NT-3 groups, three times/day for seven consecutive days. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: At 2 weeks post-surgery, biotin dextran amine (10%) was injected into the right sensorimotor cortex area. At day 28 post-surgery, spinal cord tissue was prepared for frozen sections. Positive astrocytic expression was observed with glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) immunohistochemical staining whose proliferation level was represented by gray value, i.e. the higher the gray value was, the less the positive cells were, and growth of positive fibers was observed with a biotin dextran amine histological reaction. Motor function was measured according to BBB scores pre-operatively, as well as at days 1, 7, 14, 21, and 28 post-operatively. RESULTS: Three rats died during experimentation. By random supplement, a total of 18 rats were included. GFAP-positive astrocytes were observed in all the three groups. In the control group, astrocytes were characterized according to active function, hyperplasia, proliferation, hypertrophy, and increasing processes as compared to IN-1 group and IN-1/IN-3 group. Astrocyte hyperplasia represented by gray value in the IN-1 group was less than the control group. Gray value of GFAP-positive products in the IN-1/IN-3 group was higher than other two groups (P < 0.05). Biotin dextran amine tracing demonstrated no corticospinal tract fiber outgrowth following spinal cord injury; the fibers were incapable of passing through the glial scar in the control group. Several fibers were distributed in the proximal scar tissue region in the IN-1 group, and the regenerated fibers were disarranged. Many nerve fibers were distributed throughout the scar tissue, and even several biotin dextran amine-positive fibers were observed at the distal end of the injured segment. Post-operative Basso, Beattie, Bresnahan scores were greater than pre-operative ones, while Basso, Beattie, Bresnahan scores in the IN-1/NT-3 group were significantly greater than the other two groups at days 14, 21, and 28 post-surgery (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: IN-1, in combination with NT-3, promoted axonal regeneration following spinal cord injury, inhibited the colloidal effect, and enhanced the correlation between proximal and distal processes to recover motor function. 8Longitudinal non-vascular transport pathways originating from acupuncture points in extremities visualised in human body显示文摘A subcutaneous transport pathway in humans has been previously visualised by injection of a paramagnetic tracer into the specific region of skin.In the current study,we further investigated the behaviours of imaging tracers in the transport pathways using imaging techniques.Three types of imaging tracers,including Gd-DTPA,iodised oil,and fluorescein sodium,were hypodermically injected into different acupuncture points of healthy volunteers to visualise the transport pathways by magnetic resonance imaging(MRI),X-ray,CT,and a digital fluorescein camera.Several longitudinal transport pathways in the arms and feet,which represent venous vessels and subcutaneous transport pathways(STPs) without well-defined boundaries,were visualised by MRI.Among the visualised veins,the partial walls of a few veins were enhanced by Gd-DTPA.The fluorescent images further indicated that STPs likely represent boundless pathways.The findings in this study suggested that specific anatomical structures within the subcutaneous tissues or the partial walls of certain veins werenot vascular conduits but rather represented unique transport pathways in humans that warrant extensive future studies.Hongyi Li Jiabin Tong Weiguo Cao Min Chen Hua Li Hong Dai Liang Xu Xiaoliang Chen 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,35:10
9Branched tetraether lipids in Chinese soils:Evaluating the fidelity of MBT/CBT proxies as paleoenvironmental proxies显示文摘The ubiquitous occurrence of branched glycerol dialkyl glycerol tetraethers(br GDGTs) in soils has allowed development of new proxies for reconstruction of past climate and environment. The methylation and cyclization degrees of br GDGTs, expressed as MBT and CBT, respectively, are reported to be mainly controlled by mean annual air temperature(MAAT) and soil p H. However, the br GDGT-derived temperatures and soil p H scatter widely when data from different environmental conditions are considered. In this study, we collected over 300 soil samples from China, which are representative of humid(Xishuangbanna, Guangzhou, and Shanghai), semi-arid(Dongying) and semi-arid/arid(Lanzhou, Tibetan Plateau) regions. Collectively we have the most extensive dataset that broadly characterizes the distribution of br GDGTs according to climate zones in China. The overall data demonstrate that the MBT/CBT derived temperatures better match the measured MAATs in humid and non-alkaline regions than those from regions of low MAP(<400 mm/yr) and above neutral soil p H(>7.0–7.5). Similarly, CBT describes soil p H much better in humid and non-alkaline soils than in semi-arid/arid and alkaline soils; the semi-arid/arid and alkaline soils tend to show a positive correlation between soil p H and CBT, which contradicts that in the humid and non-alkaline soils. While soil p H, MAAT and mean annual precipitation(MAP) are dominating factors controlling the br GDGT distribution across all climate zones, conductivity, total organic carbon and total nitrogen, as well as soil water content can also play an important role locally. Removing br GDGT-II resulted in a revised CBT index that provides more accurate estimation of p H, especially in semi-arid/arid and alkaline soils. 10Economic Value Evaluation of Wetland Service in Yeyahu Wetland Nature Reserve,Beijing显示文摘Based on multi-source data,this paper evaluated the economic value of ecological services in the Yeyahu Wetland Nature Reserve,Beijing,China.The ecological services of wetland included gas regulation,water quality im-provement,biodiversity maintenance,erosion control,water supply,recreational opportunity,raw material supply and existence value.Multiple conventional evaluation methods were used to calculate the value of eight wetland services.The results showed that significant values came from biodiversity maintenance and recreational opportunity.The main reasons were as follows.Firstly,Yeyahu Wetland Nature Reserve was the habitat for migrant birds,and government had payed more efforts to protect precious birds.Secondly,the population is large in Beijing.People enjoyed going outside and enjoyed the natural and artificial wetland scenes.At the same time,most people were prepared to pay for wetland conservation.The decline of vegetation cover made the economic value of erosion control the lowest.While the shrink of water resource and the deteriorative water quality caused the economic value of water supply lower.The evaluation results could help decision-makers understand the present status of the Yeyahu Wetland Nature Reserve and provide a scientific basis for strategic decision.ZHU Lin CHEN Yun GONG Huili JIANG Weiguo ZHAO Wenji XIAO Yanfang 2011Chinese Geographical Science2011,21,6:7
11Relay-intercropping soybean with maize maintains soil fertility and increases nitrogen recovery efficiency by reducing nitrogen input显示文摘Optimized nitrogen(N)management can increase N-use efficiency in intercropping systems.Legume-nonlegume intercropping systems can reduce N input by exploiting biological N fixation by legumes.Measurement of N utilization can help in dissecting the mechanisms underlying N uptake and utilization in legume-nonlegume intercropping systems.An experiment was performed with three planting patterns:monoculture maize(MM),monoculture soybean(SS),and maize-soybean relay intercropping(IMS),and three N application levels:zero N(NN),reduced N(RN),and conventional N(CN)to investigate crop N uptake and utilization characteristics.N recovery efficiency and 15N recovery rate of crops were higher under RN than under CN,and those under RN were higher under intercropping than under the corresponding monocultures.Compared with MM,IMS showed a lower soil N-dependent rate(SNDR)in 2012.However,the SNDR of MM rapidly declined from 86.8%in 2012 to 49.4%in 2014,whereas that of IMS declined slowly from 75.4%in 2012 to 69.4%in 2014.The interspecific N competition rate(NCRms)was higher under RN than under CN,and increased yearly.Soybean nodule dry weight and nitrogenase activities were respectively 34.2%and 12.5%higher under intercropping than in monoculture at the beginning seed stage.The amount(Ndfa)and ratio(%Ndfa)of soybean N2 fixation were significantly greater under IS than under SS.In conclusion,N fertilizer was more efficiently used under RN than under CN;in particular,the relay intercropping system promoted N fertilizer utilization in comparison with the corresponding monocultures.An intercropping system helps to maintain soil fertility because interspecific N competition promotes biological N fixation by soybean by reducing N input.Thus,a maize-soybean relay intercropping system with reduced N application is sustainable and environmentally friendly.Qing Du Li Zhou Ping Chen Xiaoming Liu Chun Song Feng Yang Xiaochun Wang Weiguo Liu Xin Sun Junbo Du Jiang Liu Kai Shu Wenyu Yang Taiwen Yong 2020The Crop Journal2020,8,1:7
12Microbial diversity accumulates in a downstream direction in the Three Gorges Reservoir显示文摘Organic and inorganic materials migrate downstream and have important roles in regulating environmental health in the river networks.However,it remains unclear whether and how a mixture of materials(i.e.,microbial species)from various upstream habitats contribute to microbial community coalescence upstream of a dam.Here we track the spatial variation in microbial abundance and diversity in the Three Gorges Reservoir based on quantitative PCR and 16 S rRNA gene high-throughput sequencing data.We further quantitatively assess the relative contributions of microbial species from mainstem,its tributaries,and the surrounding riverbank soils to the area immediately upstream of the Three Gorges Dam(TGD).We found an increase of microbial diversity and the convergent microbial distribution pattern in areas immediately upstream of TGD,suggesting this area become a new confluence for microbial diversity immigrating from upstream.Indeed,the number of shared species increased from upstream to TGD but unique species decreased,indicating immigration of various sources of microbial species overwhelms local environmental conditions in structuring microbial community close to TGD.By quantifying the sources of microbial species close to TGD,we found little contribution from soils as compared to tributaries,especially for sites closer to TGD,suggesting tributary microbes have greater influence on microbial diversity and environmental health in the Three Gorges Reservoir.Collectively,our results suggest that tracking microbial geographic origin and evaluating accumulating effects of microbial diversity shed light on the ecological processes in microbial communities and provide information for regulating aquatic ecological health.Shang Wang Weiguo Hou Hongchen Jiang Liuqin Huang Hailiang Dong Shu Chen Bin Wang Yongcan Chen Binliang Lin Ye Deng 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,3:7
13Synergistically Enhanced Mucoadhesive and Penetrable Polypeptide Nanogel for Efficient Drug Delivery to Orthotopic Bladder Cancer显示文摘Intravesical chemotherapy has been recommended after the gold standard of transurethral resection of the bladder tumor to prevent bladder cancer(BC)from local recurrence in the clinic.However,due to rapid urine excretion and barrier protection of the bladder wall,the clinical performances of chemotherapeutic drugs are severely compromised.In the present work,a smart positively charged disulfide-crosslinked nanogel of oligoarginine-poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(L-phenylalanine-co-L-cystine)(R_(9)-PEG-P(LP-co-LC))was prepared to prolong the retention period and enhance the penetration capability of chemotherapeutic agent toward the bladder wall.PEG significantly improved the aqueous dispersibility of the 10-hydroxycamptothecin(HCPT)-loaded R_(9)-PEG-P(LP-co-LC)(i.e.,R_(9)NG/HCPT)and enhanced the mucoadhesive capability by the nonspecific interaction between PEG chain and the bladder mucosa accompanied with the electrostatic interaction between the cationic R_(9)and negatively charged bladder mucosa.Besides,R_(9),as a cell-penetrating peptide,efficiently penetrated through the cell membrane and delivered carried cargo.The disulfide bond endowed the selective release behavior of HCPT triggered by the intracellular reductive microenvironment.As an advanced chemotherapeutic nanoformulation,the smart R_(9)NG/HCPT demonstrated superior cytotoxicity against human BC 5637 cells in vitro and remarkably enhanced tumor suppression activity toward orthotopic BC models of mouse and rat in vivo,indicating its great potential in the clinical intravesical BC chemotherapy.Hui Guo Faping Li Heping Qiu Weiguo Xu Pengqiang Li Yuchuan Hou Jianxun Ding Xuesi Chen 2020Research2020,,1:7
14African Swine Fever Virus Protein E199L Promotes Cell Autophagy through the Interaction of PYCR2显示文摘African swine fever virus(ASFV),as a member of the large DNA viruses,may regulate autophagy and apoptosis by inhibiting programmed cell death.However,the function of ASFV proteins has not been fully elucidated,especially the role of autophagy in ASFV infection.One of three Pyrroline-5-carboxylate reductases(PYCR),is primarily involved in conversion of glutamate to proline.Previous studies have shown that depletion of PYCR2 was related to the induction of autophagy.In the present study,we found for the first time that ASFV E199 L protein induced a complete autophagy process in Vero and HEK-293 T cells.Through co-immunoprecipitation coupled with mass spectrometry(Co IP-MS)analysis,we firstly identified that E199 L interact with PYCR2 in vitro.Importantly,our work provides evidence that E199 L down-regulated the expression of PYCR2,resulting in autophagy activation.Overall,our results demonstrate that ASFV E199 L protein induces complete autophagy through interaction with PYCR2 and down-regulate the expression level of PYCR2,which provide a valuable reference for the role of autophagy during ASFV infection and contribute to the functional clues of PYCR2.Sheng Chen Xinheng Zhang Yu Nie Hongxin Li Weiguo Chen Wencheng Lin Feng Chen Qingmei Xie 2021Virologica Sinica2021,36,2:7
15Multistring analysis of wellhead movement and uncemented casing strength in offshore oil and gas wells显示文摘This paper presents a theoretical method and a finite element method to describe wellhead movement and uncemented casing strength in offshore oil and gas wells. Parameters considered in the theoretical method include operating load during drilling and completion and the temperature field, pressure field and the end effect of pressure during gas production. The finite element method for multistring analysis is developed to simulate random contact between casings. The relevant finite element analysis scheme is also presented according to the actual procedures of drilling, completion and gas production. Finally, field cases are presented and analyzed using the proposed methods. These are four offshore wells in the South China Sea. The calculated wellhead growths during gas production are compared with measured values. The results show that the wellhead subsides during drilling and completion and grows up during gas production. The theoretical and finite element solutions for wellhead growth are in good agreement with measured values and the deviations of calculation are within 10%. The maximum von Mises stress on the uncemented intermediate casing occurs during the running of the oil tube. The maximum von Mises stress on the uncemented production casing, calculated with the theoretical method occurs at removing the blow-out-preventer(BOP) while that calculated with the finite element method occurs at gas production. 16Response of winter cohort abundance of Japanese common squid Todarodes pacificus to the ENSO events显示文摘The Japanese common squid Todarodes pacificus is an economically important species with one year lifespan,which is significantly influenced by climatic and environmental variability. According to the fishery data of the winter cohort of T. pacificus from 2003 to 2012, as well as environmental data and the Oceanic Ni?o index(ONI,which was defined by the sea surface temperature(SST) anomaly in the Ni?o 3.4 region), variations in the SST,chlorophyll a(Chl a) concentration, suitable spawning area(SSA) and sea surface height anomaly(SSHA) on the spawning ground of T. pacificus were examined under the El Ni?o and La Ni?a conditions. Their influences on squid abundance(defined by catch per unit effort, CPUE) were further assessed. The results showed that seasonal changes were found in SST, Chl a and SSA on the spawning ground of T. pacificus. Correlation analysis suggested that annual CPUE was significantly positively correlated with Chl a and SSA(p<0.05), but had insignificant relationship with SST(p>0.05). Moreover, the El Ni?o and La Ni?a events tended to dominate the changes of SSA and Chl a concentration in the key area between 25°–29°N and 122.5°–130.5°E, driving the variability of squid abundance. However, this influence varied with the intensity of each anomalous climatic event: the weak El Ni?o event occurred, the spawning ground was occupied by waters with enlarged SSA but with extremely low Chl a concentration, leading to low squid recruitment, the CPUE then decreased; the moderate intensity of El Ni?o event resulted in shrunk SSA but with high Chl a concentration on the spawning ground, the squid recruitment and CPUE increased; the moderate intensity of La Ni?a events yielded elevated SSA and high Chl a concentration on the spawning ground, the squid recruitment and CPUE dramatically increased.
