1Three-dimensional bioprinting of multicell-laden scaffolds containing bone morphogenic protein-4 for promoting M2 macrophage polarization and accelerating bone defect repair in diabetes mellitus显示文摘Critical-sized bone defect repair in patients with diabetes mellitus remains a challenge in clinical treatment because of dysfunction of macrophage polarization and the inflammatory microenvironment in the bone defect region.Three-dimensional(3D)bioprinted scaffolds loaded with live cells and bioactive factors can improve cell viability and the inflammatory microenvironment and further accelerating bone repair.Here,we used modified bioinks comprising gelatin,gelatin methacryloyl(GelMA),and 4-arm poly(ethylene glycol)acrylate(PEG)to fabricate 3D bioprinted scaffolds containing BMSCs,RAW264.7 macrophages,and BMP-4-loaded mesoporous silica nanoparticles(MSNs).Addition of MSNs effectively improved the mechanical strength of GelMA/gelatin/PEG scaffolds.Moreover,MSNs sustainably released BMP-4 for long-term effectiveness.In 3D bioprinted scaffolds,BMP-4 promoted the polarization of RAW264.7 to M2 macrophages,which secrete anti-inflammatory factors and thereby reduce the levels of pro-inflammatory factors.BMP-4 released from MSNs and BMP-2 secreted from M2 macrophages collectively stimulated the osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs in the 3D bioprinted scaffolds.Furthermore,in calvarial critical-size defect models of diabetic rats,3D bioprinted scaffolds loaded with MSNs/BMP-4 induced M2 macrophage polarization and improved the inflammatory microenvironment.And 3D bioprinted scaffolds with MSNs/BMP-4,BMSCs,and RAW264.7 cells significantly accelerated bone repair.In conclusion,our results indicated that implanting 3D bioprinted scaffolds containing MSNs/BMP-4,BMSCs,and RAW264.7 cells in bone defects may be an effective method for improving diabetic bone repair,owing to the direct effects of BMP-4 on promoting osteogenesis of BMSCs and regulating M2 type macrophage polarization to improve the inflammatory microenvironment and secrete BMP-2.Xin Sun Zhenjiang Ma Xue Zhao Wenjie Jin Chenyu Zhang Jie Ma Lei Qiang Wenhao Wang Qian Deng Han Yang Jinzhong Zhao Qianqian Liang Xiaojun Zhou Tao Li Jinwu Wang 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,3:12

3Preconditioned deconvolution method for high-resolution ghost imaging显示文摘Ghost imaging(GI)can nonlocally image objects by exploiting the fluctuation characteristics of light fields,where the spatial resolution is determined by the normalized second-order correlation function g^(2) .However,the spatial shift-invariant property of g^(2) is distorted when the number of samples is limited,which hinders the deconvolution methods from improving the spatial resolution of GI.In this paper,based on prior imaging systems,we propose a preconditioned deconvolution method to improve the imaging resolution of GI by refining the mutual coherence of a sampling matrix in GI.Our theoretical analysis shows that the preconditioned deconvolution method actually extends the deconvolution technique to GI and regresses into the classical deconvolution technique for the conventional imaging system.The imaging resolution of GI after preconditioning is restricted to the detection noise.Both simulation and experimental results show that the spatial resolution of the reconstructed image is obviously enhanced by using the preconditioned deconvolution method.In the experiment,1.4-fold resolution enhancement over Rayleigh criterion is achieved via the preconditioned deconvolution.Our results extend the deconvolution technique that is only applicable to spatial shift-invariant imaging systems to all linear imaging systems,and will promote their applications in biological imaging and remote sensing for high-resolution imaging demands.ZHISHEN TONG ZHENTAO LIU CHENYU HU JIAN WANG SHENSHENG HAN 2021Photonics Research2021,9,6:5
4Hybrid Dirac semimetal-based photodetector with efficient low-energy photon harvesting显示文摘Despite the considerable effort,fast and highly sensitive photodetection is not widely available at the low-photon-energy range(~meV)of the electromagnetic spectrum,owing to the challenging light funneling into small active areas with efficient conversion into an electrical signal.Here,we provide an alternative strategy by efficiently integrating and manipulating at the nanoscale the optoelectronic properties of topological Dirac semimetal PtSe_(2)and its van der Waals heterostructures.Explicitly,we realize strong plasmonic antenna coupling to semimetal states near the skin-depth regime(λ/10^(4)),featuring colossal photoresponse by in-plane symmetry breaking.The observed spontaneous and polarization-sensitive photocurrent are correlated to strong coupling with the nonequilibrium states in PtSe_(2)Dirac semimetal,yielding efficient light absorption in the photon range below 1.24 meV with responsivity exceeding∼0.2 A/W and noise-equivalent power(NEP)less than~38 pW/Hz^(0.5),as well as superb ambient stability.Present results pave the way to efficient engineering of a topological semimetal for high-speed and low-energy photon harvesting in areas such as biomedical imaging,remote sensing or security applications.Lin Wang Li Han Wanlong Guo Libo Zhang Chenyu Yao Zhiqingzi Chen Yulu Chen Cheng Guo Kaixuan Zhang Chia-Nung Kuo Chin Shan Lue Antonio Politano Huaizhong Xing Mengjie Jiang Xianbin Yu Xiaoshuang Chen Wei Lu 2022Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,3:2

7Temporal Unfolding of Racial Ingroup Bias in Neural Responses to Perceived Dynamic Pain in Others显示文摘In this study,we investigated how empathic neural responses unfold over time in different empathy networks when viewing same-race and other-race individuals in dynamic painful conditions.We recorded magnetoencephalography signals from Chinese adults when viewing video clips showing a dynamic painful(or non-painful)stimulation to Asian and White models’faces to trigger painful(or neutral)expressions.We found that perceived dynamic pain in Asian models modulated neural activities in the visual cortex at 100 ms–200 ms,in the orbitofrontal and subgenual anterior cingulate cortices at 150 ms–200 ms,in the anterior cingulate cortex around 250 ms–350 ms,and in the temporoparietal junction and middle temporal gyrus around 600 ms after video onset.Perceived dynamic pain in White models modulated activities in the visual,anterior cingulate,and primary sensory cortices after 500 ms.Our findings unraveled earlier dynamic activities in multiple neural circuits in response to same-race(vs other-race)individuals in dynamic painful situations.Chenyu Pang Yuqing Zhou Shihui Han 2024Neuroscience Bulletin2024,40,2:0
8Development of Oligo-GISH kits for efficient detection of chromosomal variants in peanut显示文摘Oligo probe staining is a low-cost and efficient chromosome identification technique.In this study,oligo genomic in situ hybridization(Oligo-GISH)technology was established in peanut.Peanut A and B subgenome-specific interspersed repeat(IR)oligo probe sets were developed based on clustering and electronic localization of tandem repeat sequences in the reference genome of Tifrunner.The OligoGISH kit was then used to perform staining of 15 Arachis species.The A-subgenome probe set stained the chromosomes of A-and E-genome Arachis species,the B-subgenome probe set stained those of B-,F-,K-,and E-genome species,and neither set stained those of H-genome species.These results indicate the relationships among the genomes of these Arachis species.The Oligo-GISH kit was also used for batch staining of the chromosomes of 389 seedlings from the irradiated M1generation,allowing 67 translocation and deletion lines to be identified.Subsequent Oligo-FISH karyotyping,FISH using single-copy probe libraries,and trait investigation identified seven homozygous chromosomal variants from the M3generation and suggested that there may be genes on chromosome 4B controlling seed number per pod.These findings demonstrate that the IR probe sets and method developed in this study can facilitate research on distant hybridization and genetic improvement in peanut.Pei Du Liuyang Fu Qian Wang Tao Lang Hua Liu Suoyi Han Chenyu Li Bingyan Huang Li Qin Xiaodong Dai Wenzhao Dong Xinyou Zhang 2023The Crop Journal2023,11,1:0

11Application of Novel Design Bone Grafting for Treatment of Segmental Acetabular Rim Defects During Revision Total Hip Arthroplasty显示文摘The study aimed to develop efficient techniques with different novel graft structures to enhance the treatment of acetabular bone deficiency.The inhomogeneous material properties Finite Element Analysis(FEA)model was reconstructed according to computed tomography images based on a healthy patient without any peri-acetabular bony defect according to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons(AAOS).The FEA model of acetabular bone deficiency was performed to simulate and evaluate the mechanical performances of the grafts in different geometric structures,with the use of fixation implants(screws),along with the stress distribution and the relative micromotion of graft models.The stress distribution mainly concentrated on the region of contact of the screws and superolateral bone.Among the different structures,the mortise-tenone structure provided better relative micromotion,with suitable biomechanical property even without the use of screws.The novel grafting structures could provide sufficient biomechanical stability and bone remodeling,and the mortise-tenone structure is the optimal treatment option for acetabulum reconstruction.Xin Zhao Haowen Xue Yang Sun Aobo Zhang Yang Liu Hao Chen Qian Wan Jiangbo Zhang Jianlin Xiao Chenyu Wang Qing Han Jincheng Wang 2021Journal of Bionic Engineering2021,18,6:0

13Subtle Side Chain Triggers Unexpected Two-Channel Charge Transport Property Enabling 80%Fill Factors and Efficient Thick-Film Organic Photovoltaics显示文摘To clearly show how important the impact of side chains on organic solar cells(OSCs)is,we designed three acceptors IDIC-CxPh(x=4,5,or 6)via subtle side-chain regulation.Despite this small change,significant distinctions were detected.IDIC-C4Ph devices achieve an optimal efficiency of 13.94%under thermal annealing,but thermal-assistant solvent-vapor annealing hugely suppresses the efficiencies to 10%.However,the C6Ph side chain endows extremely disordered stacking orientations,generating moderate efficiencies of~12.50%.Excitingly,the IDIC-C5Ph affords an unexpected two-channel p-p charge transport(TCCT)property,boosting the fill factor(FF)by up to 80.02%and efficiency to 14.56%,ranking the best among five-ring fused-ladder-type acceptors.Impressively,the special TCCT behavior of IDIC-C5Ph enables 470 nm thick-film OSC with a high FF of up to 70.12%and efficiency of 13.01%,demonstrating the great promise in fabricating largescale OSCs.Yonghai Li Lu Yu Liangliang Chen Chenyu Han Huanxiang Jiang Zitong Liu Nan Zheng Jiuxing Wang Mingliang Sun Renqiang Yang Xichang Bao 2021The Innovation2021,2,1:0
