| 1 | EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF FLOWFIELD STRUCTURE AROUND AN OGIVE-CYLINDER显示文摘The flowfield structure and their aerodynamic characteristics over an ogive cylinder were studied by means of flow visualization and surface pressure measurement in a water tunnel and a wind tunnel. The existence of multi asymmetric vortices over long slender bodies was experimentally confirmed at large angles of attack and in the subcritical Reynolds number range. The spatial 3 D characteristics of the multi vortices system were analyzed and a physical model was developed. The topological structure of different patterns in cross flow plane was studied and the mechanism governing the formation of asymmetric vortices and multi vortices was discussed from the viewpoint of stability of the topological structure. | 2 | Impact of alanyl-glutamine dipeptide on severe acute pancreatitis in early stage显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the therapeutic effect of alanyl- glutamine dipeptide (AGD) in the treatment of severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) in early and advanced stage. METHODS: Eighty patients with SAP were randomized and received 100 mL/d of 20% AGD intravenously for 10 d starting either on the day of (early treatment group) or 5 d after (late treatment group) admission. Groups had similar demographics, underlying diseases, Ranson score, Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation Ⅱ (APACHE Ⅱ) score, and Balthazar’s computed tomography (CT) score at the beginning of the study and underwent similar other medical and nutritional management. RESULTS: The duration of acute respiratory distress syndrome (2.7 ± 3.3 d vs 12.7 ± 21.0 d, P < 0.01), renal failure (1.3 ± 0.5 d vs 5.3 ± 7.3 d, P < 0.01), acute hepatitis (3.2 ± 2.3 d vs 7.0 ± 7.1 d, P < 0.01), shock (1.7 ± 0.4 d vs 4.8 ± 3.1 d, P < 0.05), encephalopathy (2.3 ± 1.9 d vs 9.5 ± 11.0 d, P < 0.01) and enteroparalysis (2.2 ± 1.4 d vs 3.5 ± 2.2 d, P < 0.01) and hospital stay (28.8 ± 9.4 d vs 45.2 ± 27.1 d, P < 0.01) were shorter in the early treatment group than in the late treatment group. The 15-d APACHE Ⅱ score was lower in the early treatment group than in the late treatment group (5.0 ± 2.4 vs 8.6 ± 3.6, P < 0.01). | 4 | Evaluation of the New Automatic Mycob.T Stainer andScanner for Detecting Acid-fast Bacilli in China显示文摘Objective To validate the performance of Mycob. T Stainer and Scanner(MTSS) for detecting acid-fast bacilli(AFB). Methods A total of 3,816 sputum samples from 1,515 tuberculosis(TB) suspects were tested at the Anhui Provincial Chest Hospital and the Linyi People's Hospital from April-August, 2016. Each specimen was placed on two smear slides. One slide was stained by the ziehl-neelsen(ZN) method to be read by conventional microscopy(CM). The other slide was stained and scanned by MTSS. All specimens were decontaminated with 4% NaO H, and then inoculated into solid culture. The performance of MTSS was assessed. Results MTSS produced higher average positivity rate(27.96%) as compared with the CM(26.83%). The overall sensitivity and specificity of MTSS were 78.9% and 93.9%, respectively. The sensitivity and specificity of CM was 77.4% and 95.0%, respectively. Conclusion MTSS exhibited a favorable performance in the detection of AFB. | 11 | Carbon Monoxide Releasing Molecule Accelerates Reendothelialization after Carotid Artery Balloon Injury in Rat显示文摘Objective This study was aimed to investigate the effects of carbon monoxide releasing molecule(CORM-2), a novel carbon monoxide carrier, on the reendothelialization of carotid artery in rat endothelial denudation model. Methods Male rats subjected to carotid artery balloon injury were treated with CORM-2, inactive CORM-2(i CORM-2) or dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO). The reendothelialization capacity was evaluated by Evans Blue dye and the immunostaining with anti-CD31 antibody. The number of circulating endothelial progenitor cells(EPCs) was detected by flow cytometry. The proliferation, migration, and adhesion of human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs) were assessed by using [3H]thymidine, Boyden chamber and human fibronectin respectively. The expressions of protein were detected by using western blot analysis. Results CORM-2 remarkably accelerated the re-endothelialization 5 d later and inhibited neointima formation 28 d later. In addition, the number of peripheral EPCs significantly increased in CORM-2-treated rats than that in i CORM-2 or DMSO-treated rats after 5 d later. In vitro experiments, CORM-2 significantly enhanced the proliferation, migration and adhesion of HUVECs. The levels of Akt, e NOS phosphorylation, and NO generation in HUVECs were also much higher in CORM-2 treated group. Blocking of PI3K/Akt/e NOS signaling pathway markedly suppressed the enhanced migration and adhesion of HUVECs induced by CORM-2.
