| 1 | Crustal stress field in Yunnan: implication for crust-mantle coupling显示文摘We applied the g CAP algorithm to determine239 focal mechanism solutions 3:0 M We 6:0T with records of dense Chin Array stations deployed in Yunnan,and then inverted 686 focal mechanisms(including 447 previous results) for the regional crustal stress field with a damped linear inversion. The results indicate dominantly strike-slip environment in Yunnan as both the maximum(r1) and minimum(r3) principal stress axes are sub-horizontal. We further calculated the horizontal stress orientations(i.e., maximum and minimum horizontal compressive stress axes: S H and S h, respectively) accordingly and found an abrupt change near *26°N. To the north, S H aligns NW-SE to nearly E-W while S h aligns nearly N-S. In contrast, to the south, both S H and S h rotate laterally and show dominantly fan-shaped patterns. The minimum horizontal stress(i.e., maximum strain axis) S h rotates from NW-SE to the west of Tengchong volcano gradually to nearly E-W in west Yunnan, and further toNE-SW in the South China block in the east. The crustal strain field is consistent with the upper mantle strain field indicated by shear-wave splitting observations in Yunnan but not in other regions. | 2 | Numerical study on Rayleigh-Taylor effect on cylindrically converging Richtmyer-Meshkov instability显示文摘Evolution of a two-dimensional air/SF6 single-mode interface is numerically investigated by an upwind CE/SE method under a cylindrically converging circumstance. The Rayleigh-Taylor effect caused by the flow deceleration on the phase inversion(RTPI)is highlighted. The RTPI was firstly observed in our previous experiment, but the related mechanism remains unclear. By isolating the three-dimensional effect, it is found here that the initial amplitude(a0), the azimuthal mode number(k0) and the re-shocking moment are the three major parameters which determine the RTPI occurrence. In the variable space of(k0, a0), a critical a0 for the RTPI occurrence is solved for each k0, and there exists a threshold value of k0 below which the RTPI will not occur no matter what a0 is. There exists a special k0 corresponding to the largest critical a0, and the reduction rule of critical a0 with k0 can be well described by an exponential decay function. The results show that the occurrence of the RTPI requires a small a0 which should be less than a critical value, a large k0 which should exceed a threshold, and a right impinging moment of the re-shock which should be later than the RTPI occurrence. Finally, the effects of the incident shock strength, the density ratio and the initial position of the interface on the threshold value of k0 and on the maximum critical a0 are examined. | 3 | Enhancing the strain hardening and ductility of Mg-Y alloy by introducing stacking faults显示文摘Due to the insufficient slip systems,Mg and its alloys exhibit poor ductility during plastic deformation at room temperature.To solve this problem,alloying is considered as a most effective method to improve the ductility of Mg alloys,which attracts wide attentions of industries.However,it is still a challenge to understand the ductilization mechanism,because of the complicated alloying elements and their interactions with Mg matrix.In this work,pure Mg and Mg-Y alloys were comparatively studied to investigate the effect of Y addition on microstructure evolution and mechanical properties.A huge increase of uniform elongation,from 5.3%to 20.7%,was achieved via only 3 wt%addition of yttrium.TEM results revealed that the only activated slip system in pure Mg was basalslip,led to its poor ductility at room temperature.In contrast,a large number of stacking faults and non-basal dislocations withcomponent were observed in the deformed Mg-Y alloy,which was proposed as the main reason for significant improvement of strain hardening and ductility.High resolution TEM indicated that most of the stacking faults were II and 12 intrinsic faults,which played a critical role in improving the ductility of Mg-Y alloy.Addition of Y into Mg alloy decreased the stacking fault energy,which induced high density stacking faults in the grain interior. | Kang Wei Lirong Xiao Bo Gao Lei Li Yi Liu Zhigang Ding Wei Liu Hao Zhou Yonghao Zhao | 2020 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2020,8,4: | 8 |
| 4 | Frequent and prolonged nocturnal occupation of port areas by Yangtze finless porpoises (Neophocaena asiaeorientalis): Forced choice for feeding?显示文摘During the Yangtze Freshwater Dolphin Expedition 2012,Yangtze finless porpoises(Neophocaena asiaeorientalis)were acoustically monitored in 9 port areas at night.During 6566 min of nocturnal monitoring,porpoise sonar was detected for 488 min(7.43%of the total time).Of all 81 encounters,the longest echolocation span obtained was 102.9 min,suggesting frequent and prolonged porpoise occupation of the port areas.A combined total of 2091 click trains were recorded,with 129(6.2%)containing minimum inter-click intervals(ICIs)below 10 ms(termed a buzz).Buzzes with a decrease in ICIs and search and approach phases that resembled feeding echolocation signals accounted for 44.2%(N=52)of all buzzes.Buzzes with an increase in ICIs,suggesting a mirrored prey capture phase,accounted for 20.2%(N=26)and could reflect attempts to locate escaped prey because they were followed by approach-phase feeding buzzes.Anecdotal evidence of porpoises fleeing the proximity of vessels was observed.The recordings indicating clusters of porpoises feeding near the port areas suggest a forced choice for feeding due to the relatively higher prey availability in the port areas compared to other areas in the Yangtze River that are probably overfished. | Zhitao WANG Tomonari AKAMATSU Zhigang MEI Lijun DONG Tomohito IMAIZUMI Kexiong WANG Ding WANG | 2015 | Integrative Zoology2015,10,1: | 6 |
| 5 | Facile grafting strategy synthesis of single-atom electrocatalyst with enhanced ORR performance显示文摘Single-atom catalysts(SACs)have become one of the most considered research directions today,owing to their maximum atom utilization and simple structures,to investigate structure-activity relationships.In the field of non-precious-metal electrocatalysts,atomically dispersed Fe-N4 active sites have been proven to possess the best oxygen reduction activity.Yet the majority of preparation methods remains complex and costly with unsatisfying controllability.Herein,we have designed a surface-grafting strategy to directly synthesize an atomically dispersed Fe-NVC electrocatalyst applied to the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).Through an esterification process in organic solution,metal-containing precursors were anchored on the surface of carbon substrates.The covalent bonding effect could suppress the formation of aggregated particles during heat treatment.Melamine was further introduced as both a cost-effective nitrogen resource and blocking agent retarding the migration of metal atoms.The optimized catalyst has proven to have abundant atomically dispersed Fe-N4 active sites with enhanced ORR catalytic performance in acid condition.This method has provided new feasible ideas for the synthesis of SACs. | Rui Ding Yide Liu Zhiyan Rui Jia Li Jianguo Liu Zhigang Zou | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,6: | 6 |
| 6 | Assessment of blood and oxygen delivery to flaps of rhesus using near infrared steady-state spectroscopy显示文摘Near infrared spectroscopy has been considered as a potentially ideal noninvasive technique for the postoperative monitoring of plastic surgery. In this study, 6 flaps were raised on rhesus monkeys’ forearms. Blood and oxygen delivery to these flaps was monitored following vascular occlusions and inhalation of pure oxygen. Optical fibers were adopted in the probe of the oximeter so that the cutaneous detection could be performed in reflectance mode. Different and repeatable patterns of changes were measured following vascular occlusions on flaps. It is clear that the near infrared spectroscopy is capable of postoperatively monitoring vascular problems in flaps, especially the venous problem. Near infrared spectroscopy showed high sensitivity to detect the dynamic changes in flaps induced by inhalation of pure oxygen in this study. | 7 | A multi-institutional retrospective study of hyperthermic plus intravesical chemotherapy versus intravesical chemotherapy treatment alone in intermediate and high risk nonmuscle-invasive bladder cancer显示文摘Objective:To compare the efficacy and safety of hyperthermic intravesical chemotherapy(HIVEC)and intravesical chemotherapy(IVEC)in patients with intermediate and high risk nonmuscle-invasive bladder cancer(NMIBC)after transurethral resection.Methods:We included 560 patients diagnosed with primary or recurrent NMIBC between April 2009 and December 2015 at 1 of 6 tertiary centers.We matched 364 intermediate or high risk cases and divided them into 2 groups:the HIVEC+IVEC group[chemohyperthermia(CHT)composed of 3 consecutive sessions followed by intravesical instillation without hyperthermia]and the IVEC group(intravesical instillation without hyperthermia).The data were recorded in the database.The primary endpoint was 2-year recurrence-free survival(RFS)in all NMIBC patients(n=364),whereas the secondary endpoints were the assessment of radical cystectomy(RC)and 5-year overall survival(OS).Results:There was a significant difference in the 2-year RFS between the two groups in all patients(n=364;HIVEC+IVEC:82.42%vs.IVEC:74.18%,P=0.038).Compared with the IVEC group,the HIVEC+IVEC group had a lower incidence of RC(P=0.0274).However,the 5-year OS was the same between the 2 groups(P=0.1434).Adverse events(AEs)occurred in 32.7%of all patients,but none of the events was serious(grades 3–4).No difference in the incidence or severity of AEs between each treatment modality was observed.Conclusions:This retrospective study showed that HIVEC+IVEC had a higher 2-year RFS and a lower incidence of RC than IVEC therapy in intermediate and high risk NMIBC patients.Both treatments were well-tolerated in a similar manner. | Qiang Ruan Degang Ding Bin Wang Chaohong He Xuequn Ren Zhenhua Feng Zhigang Pang Jin Wang Xiangliang Zhang Hongsheng Tang Jiahong Wang Qingjun He Ziying Lei Quanxing Liao Jiali Luo Shuzhong Cui | 2021 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,1: | 4 |

| 11 | Characterization of different-Al-content AlGaN/GaN heterostructures on sapphire显示文摘Al x Ga 1-x N/GaN high-electron-mobility transistor (HEMT) structures with Al composition ranging from x = 0.13 to 0.36 are grown on sapphire substrates by low-pressure metalorganic chemical vapor deposition (LP-MOCVD). The effects of Al content on crystal quality, surface morphology, optical and electrical characteristics of the AlGaN/GaN heterostructures have been analyzed. Although high Al-content (36%) heterostructure exhibits a distinguished photoluminescence peak related to recombination between the two-dimensional electron gas and photoexcited holes (2DEG-h), its crystal quality and rough surface morphology are poor. 2DEG mobility increases with the Al content up to 26% and then it apparently decreases for high Al-content (36%) AlGaN/GaN heterostructure. The increase of sheet carrier density with the increase of Al content has been observed. A high mobility at room temperature of 2105 cm 2 /V s with a sheet carrier density of n s = 1.10 × 10 13 cm -2 , for a 26% Al-content AlGaN/GaN heterostructure has been obtained, which is approaching state-of-the-art for HEMT grown on SiC. | 14 | The direct and gut microbiota-mediated effects of dietary bile acids on the improvement of gut barriers in largemouth bass(Micropterus salmoides)显示文摘Fish gut barrier damage under intensive culture model is a significant concern for aquaculture industry.This study aimed to investigate the effects of bile acids(BAs)on gut barriers in Micropterus salmoides.A germ-free(GF)zebrafish model was employed to elucidate the effects of the direct stimulation of BAs and the indirect regulations mediated by the gut microbiota on gut barrier functions.Four diets were formulated with BAs supplemented at 0,150,300 and 450 mg/kg,and these 4 diets were defined as control,BA150,BA300 and BA450,respectively.After 5 weeks of feeding experiment,the survival rate of fish fed with BA300 diet was increased(P<0.05).Histological analysis revealed an improvement of gut structural integrity in the BA150 and BA300 groups.Compared with the control group,the expression of genes related to chemical barrier(mucin,lysozyme and complement 1)and physical barrier(occludin and claudin-4)was increased in the BA150 and BA300 groups(P<0.05),and the expression of genes related to immunological barrier(interleukin[IL]-6,tumor growth factorβ,IL-10,macrophage galactosetype lectin and immunoglobulin M[Ig M])was significantly increased in the BA300 group(P<0.05),but the expression of genes related to chemical barrier(hepcidin)and immunological barrier(IL-1β,tumor necrosis factor-a,IL-6 and arginase)was significantly decreased in the BA450 group(P<0.05).Gut microbiota composition analysis revealed that the abundance of Firmicutes was augmented prominently in the BA150 and BA300 groups(P<0.05),while that of Actinobacteriota and Proteobacteria showed a downward trend in the BA150 and BA300 groups(P>0.05).The results of the gut microbiota transferring experiment demonstrated an upregulation of gut barrier-related genes,including immunoglobulin Z/T(Ig Z/T),IL-6,IL-1βand IL-10,by the gut microbiota transferred from the BA300 group compared with the control(P<0.05).Feeding the BA300 diet directly to GF zebrafish resulted in enhanced expression of Ig M,Ig Z/T,lysozyme,occludin-2,IL-6 and IL-10(P<0.05).In conclusion,BAs can improve the gut barriers of fish through both direct and indirect effects mediated by the gut microbiota. | Rui Xia Qingshuang Zhang Dongmei Xia Qiang Hao Qianwen Ding Chao Ran Yalin Yang Aizhi Cao Zhen Zhang Zhigang Zhou | 2023 | Animal Nutrition2023,,3: | 2 |

| 20 | PIK3CA mutation in Chinese patients with lung squamous cell carcinoma显示文摘Objective: To investigate PIK3CA mutation in Chinese patients with lung squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) and explore their relationship with clinicopathological profiles. Methods: Tumor samples from 123 cases of LSCC were included in this study. PIK3CA mutations in exon 9 and 20 were screened by pyrosequencing and confirmed by clone sequencing or amplification refractory mutation system (ARMS). Denaturing performance liquid chromatography (DHPLC) was employed for evaluation of EGFR mutation in exon 19, 21 and KRAS mutation. Results: PIK3CA mutations were found in 3 (2.4%) patients. The mutation type included E545K, E452Q and H1047R. Of these three patients, one coupled with EGFR mutation, and the other two coupled with PIK3CA amplification. All the three patients shared the same clinicopathologic characteristics: male, less than 60 years old, had smoke history, stage III and carried wild-type KRAS. Conclusions: The frequency of PIK3CA mutation is low in Chinese patients with LSCC.
