| 1 | Cancer metabolism and tumor microenvironment:fostering each other?显示文摘The changes associated with malignancy are not only in cancer cells but also in environment in which cancer cells live.Metabolic reprogramming supports tumor cells’high demand of biogenesis for their rapid proliferation,and helps tumor cells to survive under certain genetic or environmental stresses.Emerging evidence suggests that metabolic alteration is ultimately and tightly associated with genetic changes,in particular the dysregulation of key oncogenic and tumor suppressive signaling pathways.Cancer cells activate HIF signaling even in the presence of oxygen and in the absence of growth factor stimulation.This cancer metabolic phenotype,described firstly by German physiologist Otto Warburg,ensures enhanced glycolytic metabolism for the biosynthesis of macromolecules.The conception of metabolite signaling,i.e.,metabolites are regulators of cell signaling,provides novel insights into how reactive oxygen species(ROS)and other metabolites deregulation may regulate redox homeostasis,epigenetics,and proliferation of cancer cells.Moreover,the unveiling of noncanonical functions of metabolic enzymes,such as the moonlighting functions of phosphoglycerate kinase 1(PGK1),reassures the importance of metabolism in cancer development.The metabolic,microRNAs,and ncRNAs alterations in cancer cells can be sorted and delivered either to intercellular matrix or to cancer adjacent cells to shape cancer microenvironment via media such as exosome.Among them,cancer microenvironmental cells are immune cells which exert profound effects on cancer cells.Understanding of all these processes is a prerequisite for the development of a more effective strategy to contain cancers. | Yiyuan Yuan Huimin Li Wang Pu Leilei Chen Dong Guo Hongfei Jiang Bo He Siyuan Qin Kui Wang Na Li Jingwei Feng Jing Wen Shipeng Cheng Yaguang Zhang Weiwei Yang Dan Ye Zhimin Lu Canhua Huang Jun Mei Hua-Feng Zhang Ping Gao Peng Jiang Shicheng Su Bing Sun Shi-Min Zhao | 2022 | Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,2: | 5 |

The results demonstrate that the study of the variation of EIS feature of the graphite electrode in the two-electrode button cell with electrode polarization potential decreasing in the first lithiation cannot be used to investigate the formation mechanism of the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) film. However, the formation and growth process of the SEI film can be acquired by investigating the variation of EIS features of the graphite electrode in the three-electrode glass cell with the decrease of electrode po-larization potential in the first lithiation. | 3 | Spatial Identification of Housing Vacancy in China显示文摘The housing vacancy rate(HVR)is an important index in assessing the healthiness of residential real estate market.In China,it is hardly to take advantage of the basic data of real estate information due to the opaque of those data.In this paper,the HVR is estimated to two scales.At the grid level,urban area ratio was calculated by nighttime images after eliminating outliers of nighttime images and night light intensity of non-residential pixels in mixed pixels by a proposed modified optimal threshold method,and built-up areas in each pixel were extracted from the land-cover data.Then,the HVR is calculated by comparing the light intensity of specific grid with the light intensity of full occupancy rate regions.At the administrative scale,the GCI(‘ghost city’index)is constructed by calculating the ratio of the total light radiation intensity of a city to the total construction land area of the city.The overall spatial differentiation pattern of the vacant houses in the national prefecture level administrative regions is analyzed.The following conclusions were drawn:vacant housing is rare in certain eastern coastal cities and regions in China with relatively fast economic development.Cities based on exhausted resources,some mountainous cities,and cities with relatively backward economic development more typically showed high levels of housing vacancy.The GCI of prefecture-level administrative units gradually declined from north to south,whereas the east-west distribution showed a parabolic shape.As city level decreased,the GCI registered a gradual upward trend.China’s urban housing vacancy can be divided into five categories:industry or resources driven,government planned,epitaxy expansionary,environmental constraint and speculative activate by combining the spatial distribution of housing vacancy with the factors of natural environment,social economic development level,and population density into consideration. | PAN Jinghu DONG Leilei | 2021 | Chinese Geographical Science2021,31,2: | 2 |

| 11 | A retrospective study of pegylated recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (PEG-rhG-CSF) in preventing neutropenia during definitive concurrent chemoradiotherapy in patients with esophageal squamous carcinoma显示文摘Objective:To compare the efficacy and safety of pegylated recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor(PEG-rhG-CSF)for preventive or delayed treatment in neutropenia,completion rate of concurrent chemoradiotherapy and hospitalization rate in patients with esophageal squamous carcinoma during definitive concurrent chemoradiotherapy.Methods:A total of 70 patients with esophageal squamous carcinoma in Peking University Cancer Hospital from January 2019 to December 2020,who received PEG-rhG-CSF during concurrent chemoradiotherapy,were enrolled in this retrospective analysis.There were 32 patients in the preventive group,and 38 patients in the delayed group.The incidence of neutropenia,completion rate of concurrent chemoradiotherapy and neutropeniarelated hospitalization rate were compared between PEG-rhG-CSF preventive group and delayed group.Results:The incidence of severe neutropenia(Grades 3–4)in all patients was 31.4%.Comparison between preventive group and delayed group showed that the incidence of severe neutropenia was 6.3%and 39.4%(χ^(2)=10.428,P=0.001),respectively.In preventive group,the incidence of severe neutropenia was 3.7%and 20.0%,respectively,for primary prevention and secondary prevention of PEG-rhG-CSF(χ^(2)=12.321,P=0.001).The completion rate of concurrent chemoradiotherapy was 93.8%in the preventive group and 63.2%in the delayed group(χ^(2)=9.220,P=0.002).The incidence of treatment interruption was 25.7%in the whole group,12.5%in the preventive group and 36.8%in the delayed group(χ^(2)=5.389,P=0.020).Seven patients(7/70,10.0%)were hospitalized and treated with intravenous antibiotics for neutropenia,including 1 in the preventive group and 6 in the delayed group(P=0.078).Conclusions:Prophylactic use of PEG-rhG-CSF during concurrent chemoradiotherapy for patients with esophageal squamous carcinoma can effectively reduce the incidence of neutropenia,ensure the safety of treatment,and improve the completion rate of concurrent chemoradiotherapy. | Xin Dong Wei Deng Leilei Jiang Dan Yang Huiming Yu Dongming Li Anhui Shi Rong Yu Weihu Wang | 2022 | Radiation Medicine and Protection2022,3,2: | 1 |
| 12 | Investigation of the block toppling evolution of a layered model slope by centrifuge test and discrete element modeling显示文摘Primary toppling usually occurs in layered rock slopes with large anti-dip angles.In this paper,the block toppling evolution was explored using a large-scale centrifuge system.Each block column in the layered model slope was made of cement mortar.Some artificial cracks perpendicular to the block column were prefabricated.Strain gages,displacement gages,and high-speed camera measurements were employed to monitor the deformation and failure processes of the model slope.The centrifuge test results show that the block toppling evolution can be divided into seven stages,i.e.layer compression,formation of major tensile crack,reverse bending of the block column,closure of major tensile crack,strong bending of the block column,formation of failure zone,and complete failure.Block toppling is characterized by sudden large deformation and occurs in stages.The wedge-shaped cracks in the model incline towards the slope.Experimental observations show that block toppling is mainly caused by bending failure rather than by shear failure.The tensile strength also plays a key factor in the evolution of block toppling.The simulation results from discrete element method(DEM)is in line with the testing results.Tensile stress exists at the backside of rock column during toppling deformation.Stress concentration results in the fragmented rock column and its degree is the most significant at the slope toe. | Leilei Jin Hongkai Dong Fei Ye Yufeng Wei Jianfeng Liu Changkui Wang | 2024 | Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2024,16,1: | 0 |

| 14 | miR-126 mitigates the osteogenic differentiation of human bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells by targeting the ERK1/2 and Bcl-2 pathways显示文摘Human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(hBMMSCs)are a promising cell source for bone engineering owing to their high potential to differentiate into osteoblasts.The objective of the present study is to assess microRNA-126(miR-126)and examine its effects on the osteogenic differentiation of hBMMSCs.In this study,we investigate the role of miR-126 in the progression of osteogenic differentiation(OD)as well as the apoptosis and inflammation of hBMMSCs during OD induction.OD is induced in hBMMSCs,and matrix mineralization along with other ODassociated markers are evaluated by Alizarin Red S(AR)staining and quantitative PCR(qPCR).Gain-and loss-offunction studies are performed to demonstrate the role of miR-126 in the OD of hBMMSCs.Flow cytometry and qPCR-based cytokine expression studies are performed to investigate the effect of miR-126 on the apoptosis and inflammation of hBMMSCs.The results indicate that miR-126 expression is downregulated during the OD of hBMMSCs.Gain-and loss-of function assays reveal that miR-126 upregulation inhibits the differentiation of hBMMSCs into osteoblasts,whereas the downregulation of miR-126 promotes hBMMSC differentiation,as assessed by the determination of osteogenic genes and alkaline phosphatase activity.Furthermore,the miR-126 level is positively correlated with the production of inflammatory cytokines and apoptotic cell death.Additionally,our results suggest that miR-126 negatively regulates not only B-cell lymphoma 2(Bcl-2)expression but also the phosphorylation of extracellular signal-regulated protein kinase(ERK)1/2.Moreover,restoring ERK1/2 activity and upregulating Bcl-2 expression counteract the miR-126-mediated suppression of OD in hBMMSCs by promoting inflammation and apoptosis,respectively.Overall,our findings suggest a novel molecular mechanism relevant to the differentiation of hBMMSCs into osteoblasts,which can potentially facilitate bone formation by counteracting miR-126-mediated suppression of ERK1/2 activity and Bcl-2 expression. | Ying Zhang Yiping Dong Qiushi Wei Zhikun Zhuang Youwen Liu Qiang Yuan Wei He Zhenhao Jing Jitian Li Peifeng Li Leilei Zhang Zhinan Hong Ning Zhang Haibin Wang Wuyin Li | 2023 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2023,55,3: | 0 |
| 15 | Geology,Geochemistry and Re-Os Age of the Qiaoxiahala Deposit in NW China:Evidence of an Overprinted Fe(-Cu/Au)Deposit显示文摘Overprinting of an earlier formed deposit may obscure the nature of the deposit and hinder our understanding of regional metallogeny.The Qiaoxiahala Fe(-Cu/Au)deposit in eastern Junggar,NW China,is characterized by magnetite mineralization later replaced by sulfide minerals such as chalcopyrite.To reveal the genesis of Qiaoxiahala,we conducted Re-Os dating on post-magnetite molybdenite separated from chalcopyrite and rare earth elements(REEs)for basal-tic volcanic rock,magnetite,chalcopyrite and diorite.An isochron age of 377±7 Ma was obtained together with a weighted mean age of 375±3 Ma,which is indistinguishable from mineralization ages determined in previous studies.Rare earth element(REE)data for basaltic volcanic rocks hosting the ore are comparable to that of the magnetite,while the REE signatures of chalcopyrite from the Cu ore and local intrusive diorite share a similar pattern.These suggest that two distinct fluid sources are responsible for the deposition of Fe and Cu in the Qiaoxiahala deposit.According to these experimental results,we consider that the iron mineralization in Qiaoxiahala is the result of fluid exsolution from basaltic volcanism which was further overprinted by fluids that deposited copper and gold,which may have been sourced from nearby dioritic intrusions. | Zhongjiang Zang Wei Liu Leilei Dong | 2021 | Journal of Earth Science2021,32,1: | 0 |

| 17 | The miR-21-5p enriched in the apoptotic bodies of M2 macrophage-derived extracellular vesicles alleviates osteoarthritis by changing macrophage phenotype显示文摘Macrophages (Mφs) play a crucial role in the pathological progression of osteoarthritis (OA) by regulating inflammation and tissue repair. Decreasing pro-inflammatory M1-Mφs and increasing anti-inflammatory M2-Mφs can alleviate OA-related inflammation and promote cartilage repair. Apoptosis is a natural process associated with tissue repair. A large number of apoptotic bodies (ABs), a type of extracellular vesicle, are produced during apoptosis, and this is associated with a reduction in inflammation. However, the functions of apoptotic bodies remain largely unknown. In this study, we investigated the role of M2-Mφs-derived apoptotic bodies (M2-ABs) in regulating the M1/M2 balance of macrophages in a mouse model of OA. Our data show that M2-ABs can be targeted for uptake by M1-Mφs, and this reprograms M1-to-M2 phenotypes within 24 h. The M2-ABs significantly ameliorated the severity of OA, alleviated the M1-mediated pro-inflammatory environment, and inhibited chondrocyte apoptosis in mice. RNA-seq revealed that M2-ABs were enriched with miR-21–5p, a microRNA that is negatively correlated with articular cartilage degeneration. Inhibiting the function of miR-21–5p in M1-Mφs significantly reduced M2-ABs-guided M1-to-M2 reprogramming following in vitro cell transfection. Together, these results suggest that M2-derived apoptotic bodies can prevent articular cartilage damage and improve gait abnormalities in OA mice by reversing the inflammatory response caused by M1 macrophages. The mechanism underlying these findings may be related to miR-21-5p-regulated inhibition of inflammatory factors. | 18 | Zfhx3 is essential for progesterone/progesterone receptor signaling to drive ductal side-branching and alveologenesis in mouse mammary glands显示文摘Progesterone(Pg)/progesterone receptor(PR) signaling drives mammary gland side-branching and alveologenesis, but the mechanisms through which Pg/PR signaling functions remain to be clarified.Using in vitro and in vivo models and histological and molecular analyses, we determined the role of Zfhx3 transcription factor in mammary gland development driven by Pg/PR signaling. Postnatal deletion of Zfhx3 in mouse mammary epithelial cells attenuated side-branching morphogenesis and alveologenesis. These effects were undetectable in the absence of Pg/PR signaling. During the estrus cycle, Zfhx3 expression corresponded to that of Pg, being at the highest level at the diestrus stage; Zfhx3 deletion inhibited mammary gland branching more potently at diestrus than estrus stage. Loss of Zfhx3 not only attenuated the expansion of stem/progenitor cells driven by Pg/PR signaling, but also impaired the function of Pg/PR signaling in the transcriptional activation of multiple genes. In addition, Pg/PR signaling significantly expanded PR-and Zfhx3-positive epithelial cells, and induced the physical association of ZFHX3 with PR. | 19 | Prolonged Mantle Modification beneath the North China Craton:Evidence from Contrasting Mafic Dykes in Jiaodong Peninsula显示文摘The nature of lithosphere mantle beneath North China Craton(NCC) has been changed during the Mesozoic.We investigated the mafic dykes in Jiaodong to put constraint on the origin of them and reveal the mantle evolution of the NCC.Zircons from Kunyushan and Nansu mafic dykes give concordia U-Pb ages of 114.9 and 52.8 Ma,respectively.The Kunyushan mafic dyke has high MgO(~8.0 wt.%) and Cr(>380 ppm) but lower FeO(<10 wt.%) contents.Large ion lithophile elements(LILE) are enriched compared to primitive mantle.The εHf(t) values of zircons are between-15.0 and-20.1.All these geochemical data imply an old and enriched lithosphere mantle source.In contrast,the Nansu mafic dyke has lower concentrations of Mg O(<7.0 wt.%) and Cr(200 ppm–230 ppm) but higher FeO(>11 wt.%) contents.The LILE and light rare earth elements(LREE) are not so strongly enriched relative to the mafic dyke from Kunyushan but display slight enrichment compared to the primitive mantle.Positive zircon εHf(t) values are obtained(from +11.7 to +19.5,with one outlier of +3.4).It is suggested that the Nansu dyke sourced from an enriched MORB mantle and was generated by fluid flux melting. | Leilei Dong Zhiming Yang Mingchun Song | 2023 | Journal of Earth Science2023,34,4: | 0 |
