1A reactive oxygen species-responsive dendrimer with low cytotoxicity for efficient and targeted gene delivery显示文摘Nonviral vectors have been attracting more attention for several advantages in gene delivery and the development of nonviral gene ca rriers with high delivery efficiency and low cytotoxicity has long been a key project.Starburst polyamidoamine dendrimers are a class of synthetic polymers with unique structural and physical characteristics.However,when they are used as gene carrier,the gene transfection efficiency is not satisfactory.Herein,a novel thioketal-core polyamidoamine dendrimer(i.e.,ROS-PAMAM)was synthesized and characterized.Compared to ethylenediamine-core dendrimers or widely used cationic polymers of polyetherimide,ROS-PAMAM showed lower cytotoxicity.Moreover,ROS-PAMAM demonstrated reactive oxygen species responsive characteristics,which can facilitate the release of siRNA in the tumor microenvironment.In vitro gene transfection experiments based on A549 cells confirmed that siRNA/ROS-PAMAM exhibits high gene transfection efficiency.It is concluded that ROS-PAMAM shows great potential as a generalizable vehicle for gene therapy applications.Yueqi Wang Changjian Li Libo Du Yang Liu 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,1:5
2Optimizing interfacial electronic coupling with metal oxide to activate inert polyaniline for superior electrocatalytic hydrogen generation显示文摘Tuning and optimization of electronic structures and related reaction energetics are critical toward the rational design of efficient electrocatalysts.Herein,experimental and theoretical calculation demonstrate the originally inert N site within polyaniline(PANI)can be activated for hydrogen evolution by proper d-πinterfacial electronic coupling with metal oxide.As a result,the assynthesized WO3 assemblies@PANI via a facile redox-induced assembly and in situ polymerization,exhibits the electrocatalytic production of hydrogen better than other control samples including W18O49@PANI and most of the reported nobel-metal-free electrocatalysts,with low overpotential of 74 mV at 10 mA·cm−2 and small Tafel slope of 46 mV·dec−1 in 0.5M H2SO4(comparable to commercial Pt/C).The general efficacy of this methodology is also validated by extension to other metal oxides such as MoO3 with similar improvements.Zhen-Feng Huang Jiajia Song Yonghua Du Shuo Dou Libo Sun Wei Chen Kaidi Yuan Zhengfei Dai Xin Wang 2019Carbon Energy2019,1,1:5
3The enhanced protective effects of salvianic acid A: A functionalized nanoparticles against ischemic stroke through increasing the permeability of the blood-brain barrier显示文摘Ischemic stroke is the leading cause of disability and death worldwide. Currently, the only proven treatment for ischemic stroke is restoring the cerebral blood supply. In addition, some of the tissue is damaged during the subsequent reperfusion because of the overproduction of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Furthermore, antioxidant therapies have shown promise in preclinical studies for the treatment of ischemia-reperfusion injury. However, their therapeutic efficacy has been limited because of their low bioavailability in brain. To resolve this issue, we synthesized ROS-responsive, fan-shaped dendrimer nanoparticles (NPs) and conjugated them with a blood-brain barrier (BBB)-targeting peptide, COG1410, and salvianic acid A (SA), which is an effective antioxidant in ischemic stroke. The BBB targeting peptide acts as a ligand of the nanocarrier system and penetrates the BBB through the endocytosis of the ligand receptor. The results showed that T-SA-NPs not only target and accumulate in the infarct area, they also reduce over 2 times of the infarct area and reverse the behavioral deficits in MCAO mice, which illustrates that these NPs have an effective therapeutic effect on the ischemic stroke. In addition, these NPs had no toxicity in any organs of the body. 11Toxicological Effects of Secondary Air Pollutants显示文摘Secondary air pollutants,originating from gaseous pollutants and primary particulate matter emitted by natural sources and human activities,undergo complex atmospheric chemical reactions and multiphase processes.Secondary gaseous pollutants represented by ozone and secondary particulate matter,including sulfates,nitrates,ammonium salts,and secondary organic aerosols,are formed in the atmosphere,affecting air quality and human health.This paper summarizes the formation pathways and mechanisms of important atmospheric secondary pollutants.Meanwhile,different secondary pollutants’toxicological effects and corresponding health risks are evaluated.Studies have shown that secondary pollutants are generally more toxic than primary ones.However,due to their diverse source and complex generation mechanism,the study of the toxicological effects of secondary pollutants is still in its early stages.Therefore,this paper first introduces the formation mechanism of secondary gaseous pollutants and focuses mainly on ozone’s toxicological effects.In terms of particulate matter,secondary inorganic and organic particulate matters are summarized separately,then the contribution and toxicological effects of secondary components formed from primary carbonaceous aerosols are discussed.Finally,secondary pollutants generated in the indoor environment are briefly introduced.Overall,a comprehensive review of secondary air pollutants may shed light on the future toxicological and health effects research of secondary air pollutants.XIANG Wang WANG Weigang DU Libo ZHAO Bin LIU Xingyang ZHANG Xiaojie YAO Li GE Maofa 2023Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2023,39,3:1

15Ciprofloxacin stress changes key enzymes and intracellular metabolites of Lactobacillus plantarum DNZ-4显示文摘Ciprofloxacin(CIP)is an antibiotic used to treat infections caused by bacteria.In this experiment,key enzymes and intracellular metabolites of Lactobacillus plantarum DNZ-4 was researched under CIP stress.The results showed that the activities of hexokinase,pyruvate kinase,β-galactosidase and Na^(+),K^(+)-ATPase after 1/2 minimum bacteriostatic concentration(MIC)CIP treatment were significantly decreased(P<0.01).Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry was used to analysis the changes of main metabolites in the cells and principal component analysis and partial least square model were constructed.The results indicated that CIP could cause changes in intracellular fatty acids,carbohydrates and amino acids,and the mechanism of amino acid metabolism under CIP stress was significantly inhibited.L.plantarum DNZ-4 made stress response to CIP by regulating the ratio of saturated fatty acids and unsaturated fats.This experiment revealed the changes of growth and metabolism mechanism of L.plantarum DNZ-4 under CIP stress,which help to provide technical means for the development of effective probiotics preparation products.Pin Chen Xiaoqian Chen Wei Yu Bo Zhou Lihua Liu Yuzhuo Yang Peng Du Libo Liu Chun Li 2022Food Science and Human Wellness2022,11,2:0
16Jinyinqingre Oral Liquid alleviates LPS-induced acute lung injury by inhibiting the NF-κB/NLRP3/GSDMD pathway显示文摘Acute lung injury(ALI)is a prevalent and severe clinical condition characterized by inflammatory damage to the lung endothelial and epithelial barriers,resulting in high incidence and mortality rates.Currently,there is a lack of safe and effective drugs for the treatment of ALI.In a previous clinical study,we observed that Jinyinqingre oral liquid(JYQR),a Traditional Chinese Medicine formulation prepared by the Taihe Hospital,Affiliated Hospital of Hubei University of Medicine,exhibited notable efficacy in treating inflammation-related hepatitis and cholecystitis in clinical settings.However,the potential role of JYQR in ALI/acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS)and its anti-inflammatory mechanism remains unexplored.Thus,the present study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects and underlying molecular mechanisms of JYQR in ALI using a mouse model of lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced ALI and an in vitro RAW264.7 cell model.JYQR yielded substantial improvements in LPS-induced histological alterations in lung tissues.Additionally,JYQR administration led to a noteworthy reduction in total protein levels within the BALF,a decrease in MPAP,and attenuation of pleural thickness.These findings collectively highlight the remarkable efficacy of JYQR in mitigating the deleterious effects of LPS-induced ALI.Mechanistic investigations revealed that JYQR pretreatment significantly inhibited NF-κB activation and downregulated the expressions of the downstream proteins,namely NLRP3 and GSDMD,as well as proinflammatory cytokine levels in mice and RAW2647 cells.Consequently,JYQR alleviated LPS-induced ALI by inhibiting the NF-κB/NLRP3/GSDMD pathway.JYQR exerts a protective effect against LPS-induced ALI in mice,and its mechanism of action involves the downregulation of the NF-κB/NLRP3/GSDMD inflammatory pathway.WANG Shuhui LEI Pan FENG Ying JIANG Mingzhu LIU Zegan SHEN Ting MA Shinan WANG Libo GUO Xingrong DU Shiming 2023Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2023,21,6:0
