1Rates of litter decomposition in terrestrial ecosystems:global patterns and controlling factors显示文摘Aims We aim to construct a comprehensive global database of litter decomposition rate(k value)estimated by surface floor litterbags,and investigate the direct and indirect effects of impact factors such as geographic factors(latitude and altitude),climatic factors(mean annual tempePlrature,MAT;mean annual precipitation,MAP)and litter quality factors(the contents of N,P,K,Ca,Mg and C:N ratio,lignin:N ratio)on litter decomposition.Methods We compiled a large data set of litter decomposition rates(k values)from 110 research sites and conducted simple,multiple regression and path analyses to explore the relationship between the k values and impact factors at the global scale.Important findings The k values tended to decrease with latitude(LAT)and lignin content(LIGN)of litter but increased with temperature,precipitation and nutrient concentrations at the large spatial scale.Single factor such as climate,litter quality and geographic variable could not explain litter decomposition rates well.However,the combination of total nutrient(TN)elements and C:N accounted for 70.2%of the variation in the litter decomposition rates.The combination of LAT,MAT,C:N and TN accounted for 87.54%of the variation in the litter decomposition rates.These results indicate that litter quality is the most important direct regulator of litter decomposition at the global scale.This data synthesis revealed significant relationships between litter decomposition rates and the combination of climatic factor(MAT)and litter quality(C:N,TN).The global-scale empirical relationships developed here are useful for a better understanding and modeling of the effects of litter quality and climatic factors on litter decomposition rates.Deqiang Zhang Dafeng Hui Yiqi Luo Guoyi Zhou 2008Journal of Plant Ecology2008,1,2:99
2Soil temperature and moisture sensitivities of soil CO_2 efflux before and after tillage in a wheat field of Loess Plateau,China显示文摘As a conventional farming practice,tillage has lasted for thousands of years in Loess Plateau,China.Although recent studies show that tillage is a prominent culprit to soil carbon loss in croplands,few studies have investigated the influences of tillage on the responses of soil CO2 efflux(SCE) to soil temperature and moisture.Using a multi-channel automated CO2 efflux chamber system,we measured SCE in situ continuously before and after the conventional tillage in a rain fed wheat field of Loess Plateau,China.The changes in soil temperature and moisture sensitivities of SCE,denoted by the Q10 value and linear regression slope respectively,were compared in the same range of soil temperature and moisture before and after the tillage.The results showed that,after the tillage,SCE increased by 1.2-2.2 times;the soil temperature sensitivity increased by 36.1%-37.5%;and the soil moisture sensitivity increased by 140%-166%.Thus,the tillage-induced increase in SCE might partially be attributed to the increases in temperature and moisture sensitivity of SCE.Hongxing Zhang Xiaoke Wang Zongwei Feng Junzhu Pang Fei Lu Zhiyun Ouyang Hua Zheng Wenzhao Liu Dafeng Hui 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,1:7

4Engineering Cu_(1.96)S/Co_(9)S_(8) with sulfur vacancy and heterostructure as an efficient bifunctional electrocatalyst for water splitting显示文摘Defect and interface engineering have been recognized as efficient strategies for developing high-performance electrocatalysts.However,it is still challenging to couple defect and interface engineering in transition metal sulfides and understand their dynamic evolution process during electrocatalysis.Herein,we developed one-step pyrolysis of bimetallic sulfide to construct S vacancy-rich Cu_(1.96)S/Co_(9)S_(8) heterostructure by controlling the critical decomposition temperature.The as-synthesized Cu_(1.96)S/Co_(9)S_(8) exhibits excellent bifunctional electrocatalytic performance,with a low overpotential of 99 and 200 mV at 10 mA cm−2 towards hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)in 1.0 mol/L KOH electrolyte,respectively.A symmetric two-electrode cell with Cu_(1.96)S/Co_(9)S_(8) delivered a current density of 10 mA cm^(−2) at a low voltage of 1.43 V and showed long-term stability for 200 h.A series of in/ex-situ techniques revealed that the electrochemical reconfiguration only appeared in the OER process,resulting in the CoOOH/CuO and SO42−species promoting OER performance.Meanwhile,the S vacancy and heterostructure interface in Cu_(1.96)S/Co_(9)S_(8) were proved to optimize the electronic structure and the adsorption of intermediates for HER by density function theory(DFT)simulations.This work provides a promising strategy to construct metal sulfides with rich defects and heterogeneous interfaces and understand their dynamic evolution process for electrochemical storage and conversion devices.Yuanhua Xiao Ya Shen Dangcheng Su Shiwei Zhang Jinlin Yang Dafeng Yan Shaoming Fang Xuezhao Wang 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,23:1
5Antimicrobial power of biosynthesized Ag nanoparticles using refined Ginkgo biloba leaf extracts显示文摘Silver nanoparticles(Ag NPs),relative to existing antibacterial agents,are more effective,less toxic and more economical,and have shown enormous potential for the nanomedicine application.In this work,we report a‘green’method for the rapid and efficient synthesis of Ag NPs using Ginkgo biloba extracts as reducing agent and capping agent.The properties of Ag NPs against fungi and bacteria were investigated.The results showed that the Ginkgo biloba extracts are crucial for the preparation of uniform and monodispersed Ag NPs.The prepared Ag NPs exhibited remarkable antibacterial activities.The minimum inhibitory concentrations of Ag NPs for Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were 0.044 and 0.088μg·mL−1,respectively.Moreover,Ag NPs exhibited excellent bactericidal performance against MDR-Pseudomonas aeruginosa.It was found that the effect of the antibacterial activity of Ag NPs on Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus was tightly related to the reactive oxygen species accumulation.This research provides guidelines for the efficient green synthesis of Ag NPs and its antibacterial applications.Wenbo ZHUANG Dafeng HU Xudong ZHANG Kai XIONG Xiao DING Jian LU Yong MAO Peng YANG Chao LIU Yanfen WAN 2022Frontiers of Materials Science2022,16,2:1

9Occupational cancer surveillance in China显示文摘Occupational cancer causes a large number of deaths every year,posing a great threat to public health in China and abroad.Occupational cancer surveillance can help to dynamically monitor and predict the trend of cancer occurrence and provide basic reference for the formulation of occupational cancer prevention and treatment measures.Occupational cancer surveillance started late in China relative to developed western countries,but formed its own characteristics through years of development of legislation and institutional reform,and large-scale epidemiological investigations and laboratory research.Occupational cancer surveillance is currently a part of cancer surveillance system of the National Cancer Center,as well as an integral part of occupational disease surveillance in China.It generally includes not only cancer incidence surveillance,but also cancer-related occupational risk factor surveillance,and surveillance of e ects of occupational cancer prevention,treatment,and intervention.The methods of occupational cancer surveillance in China include passive monitoring,active monitoring,and sentinel monitoring.These methods have their respective advantages and disadvantages and would be best to be combined in practice.The rapid development of economy and technology,and continuous advancement of hospital informatization,especially the establishment and application of big data on occupational cancer,may point out directions for the development of occupational cancer surveillance in the future.Occupational cancer prevention and control in China still has a long way to go and the destination is to achieve primary prevention for occupational cancer.Dafeng Lin Yanfang Zhang Xianqing Huang 2018Global Health Journal2018,2,2:0
10SnFe_(2)O_(4)/ZnIn_(2)S_(4)/PVDF piezophotocatalyst with improved photocatalytic hydrogen production by synergetic effects of heterojunction and piezoelectricity显示文摘The polarized electric field inside piezoelectric materials has been proven to be a promising technique to boost photogenerated charge separation.Herein,a novel flexible SnFe_(2)O_(4)/ZnIn_(2)S_(4)/polyvinylidene fluoride((CH2CF2)_(n),PVDF)(P-SZ)film piezophotocatalyst was successfully synthesized by combining PVDF,an organic piezoelectric material,with a SnFe_(2)O_(4)/ZnIn_(2)S_(4)(SFO/ZIS)type II heterojunction photocatalyst.The hydrogen evolution rate of SFO/ZIS heterojunction with a SFO content of 5%is about 846.79μmol·h^(−1)·g^(−1),which is 3.6 times that of pristine ZIS.Furthermore,after being combined with PVDF,the optimum hydrogen evolution rate of P-SZ is about 1652.7μmol·h^(−1)·g^(−1)in the presence of ultrasound,which exceeds that of 5%SFO/ZIS by an approximate factor of 2.0.Based on experimental results,the mechanism of the improved photocatalytic performance of P-SZ was proposed on the basis of the piezoelectric field in PVDF and the formed heterojunction between SFO and ZIS,which effectively boosted the separation of photoinduced charges.This work provides an efficient strategy for multi-path collection and utilization of natural solar and vibrational energy to enhance photoactivity.Ping Su Dezhi Kong Huaihao Zhao Shangkun Li Dafeng Zhang Xipeng Pu Changhua Su Peiqing Cai 2023Journal of Advanced Ceramics2023,12,9:0
11Plant carbon substrate supply regulated soil nitrogen dynamics in a tallgrass prairie in the Great Plains, USA: results of a clipping and shading experiment显示文摘Land use management affects plant carbon(C)supply and soil environments and hence alters soil nitrogen(N)dynamics,with consequent feedbacks to terrestrial ecosystem productivity.The objective of this study was to better identify mechanisms by which land-use management(clipping and shading)regulates soil N in a tallgrass prairie,OK,USA.Methods We conducted 1-year clipping and shading experiment to investigate the effects of changes in land-use management(soil microclimates,plant C substrate supply and microbial activity)on soil inorganic N(NH_(4)^(+)-N and NO_(3)^(-)-N),net N mineralization and nitrification in a tallgrass prairie.Important Findings Land-use management through clipping and/or shading significantly increased annual mean inorganic N,possibly due to lowered plant N uptake and decreased microbial N immobilization into biomass growth.Shading significantly increased annual mean mineralization rates(P<0.05).Clipping slightly decreased annual mean N nitrification rates whereas shading significantly increased annual mean N nitrification rates.Soil microclimate significantly explained 36%of the variation in NO_(3)^(-)-N concentrations(P=0.004).However,soil respiration,a predictor of plant C substrate supply and microbial activity,was negatively correlated with NH_(4)^(+)-N concentrations(P=0.0009),net N mineralization(P=0.0037)and nitrification rates(P=0.0028)across treatments.Our results suggest that change in C substrate supply andmicrobial activity under clipping and/or shading is a critical control on NH_(4)^(+)-N,net N mineralization and nitrification rates,whereas clipping and shading-induced soil microclimate change can be important for NO_(3)^(-)-N variation in the tallgrass prairie.Xiaoli Cheng Yiqi Luo Bo Su Shiqiang Wan Dafeng Hui Quanfa Zhang 2011Journal of Plant Ecology2011,4,4:0
12Response of organic aerosol characteristics to emission reduction in Yangtze River Delta region显示文摘Organic aerosol(OA)is a major component of atmospheric particulate matter(PM)with complex composition and formation processes influenced by various factors.Emission reduction can alter both precursors and oxidants which further affects secondary OA formation.Here we provide an observational analysis of secondary OA(SOA)variation properties in Yangtze River Delta(YRD)of eastern China in response to large scale of emission reduction during Chinese New Year(CNY)holidays from 2015 to 2020,and the COVID-19 pandemic period from January to March,2020.We found a 17%increase of SOA proportion during the COVID lockdown.The relative enrichment of SOA is also found during multi-year CNY holidays with dramatic reduction of anthropogenic emissions.Two types of oxygenated OA(OOA)influenced by mixed emissions and SOA formation were found to be the dominant components during the lockdown in YRD region.Our results highlight that these emission-reduction-induced changes in organic aerosol need to be considered in the future to optimize air pollution control measures.Jinbo Wang Jiaping Wang Wei Nie Xuguang Chi Dafeng Ge Caijun Zhu Lei Wang Yuanyuan Li Xin Huang Ximeng Qi Yuxuan Zhang Tengyu Liu Aijun Ding 2023Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2023,17,9:0
