1Main seagrass beds and threats to their habitats in the coastal sea of South China显示文摘The distribution, species, biomass,productivity of main seagrasses and their sufferedmain threats are introduced and discussed in thispaper based on the field surveys in the offshore areas of Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan provinces.The seagrass beds distributed mainly in Liusha Bay,Donghai Island and Hailing Island of GuangdongProvince; Hepu and Pearl Bay of Guangxi ZhuangAutonomous Region; Li’an Bay, Xincun Bay, Longwan Bay and Sanya Bay of Hainan Province and soon. The total area of seagrass beds in the coastal seaof South China is about 2400 ha. There are about 8species, such as Halophila ovalis, Halodule uninervisHalophila beccarii, Zostera japonica, Enhalus acoroides, Thalassia hemperichii, Ruppia martime andCymodocea rotundata. These seagrasses have highbiomass and productivity. 2Efficiency of active barriers attaching biofilm as sediment capping to eliminate the internal nitrogen in eutrophic lake and canal显示文摘Three active barrier materials (zeolite, ceramicite and light porous media) were applied for preventing nitrogen (N) release from eutrophic lake sediments. Long term experiment of two different lake sediments were carried out and the effect of zeolite dose was evaluated. The results indicated that about 90%-100% of total N in overlying water was eliminated by using zeolite. While the N removal efficiency by ceramic was lower than that by zeolite, and light porous media present the lowest efficiency of 59%. Long term sediment incubation experiments indicated that two eutrophic sediments were both effective in preventing N release in spite of different release characteristics. 3Effect of irrigation regime on grain yield,water productivity,and methane emissions in dry direct-seeded rice grown in raised beds with wheat straw incorporation显示文摘Dry direct-seeded rice grown in raised beds is becoming an important practice in the wheat–rice rotation system in China.However,little information has been available on the effect of various irrigation regimes on grain yield,water productivity(WP),nitrogen use efficiency(NUE),and greenhouse gas emission in this practice.This study investigated the question using two rice cultivars in 2015 and 2016 grown in soil with wheat straw incorporated into it.Rice seeds were directly seeded into raised beds,which were maintained under aerobic conditions during the early seedling period.Three irrigation regimes:continuous flooding(CF),alternate wetting and drying(AWD),and furrow irrigation(FI),were applied from 4.5-leaf-stage to maturity.Compared with CF,both AWD and FI significantly increased grain yield,WP,and internal NUE,with greater increases under the FI regime.The two cultivars showed the same tendency in both years.Both AWD and FI markedly increased soil redox potential,root and shoot biomass,root oxidation activity,leaf photosynthetic NUE,and harvest index and markedly decreased global warming potential,owing to substantial reduction in seasonalThe results demonstrate that adoption of either AWD or FI could increase grain yield and resource-use efficiency and reduce environmental risks in dry direct-seeded rice grown on raised beds with wheat straw incorporation in the wheat–rice rotation system.Zhiqin Wang Daojian Gu Sarah S.Beebout Hao Zhang Lijun Liu Jianchang Yang Jianhua Zhang 2018The Crop Journal2018,6,5:6
4Adversarial Learning for Distant Supervised Relation Extraction显示文摘Recently,many researchers have concentrated on using neural networks to learn features for Distant Supervised Relation Extraction(DSRE).These approaches generally use a softmax classifier with cross-entropy loss,which inevitably brings the noise of artificial class NA into classification process.To address the shortcoming,the classifier with ranking loss is employed to DSRE.Uniformly randomly selecting a relation or heuristically selecting the highest score among all incorrect relations are two common methods for generating a negative class in the ranking loss function.However,the majority of the generated negative class can be easily discriminated from positive class and will contribute little towards the training.Inspired by Generative Adversarial Networks(GANs),we use a neural network as the negative class generator to assist the training of our desired model,which acts as the discriminator in GANs.Through the alternating optimization of generator and discriminator,the generator is learning to produce more and more discriminable negative classes and the discriminator has to become better as well.This framework is independent of the concrete form of generator and discriminator.In this paper,we use a two layers fully-connected neural network as the generator and the Piecewise Convolutional Neural Networks(PCNNs)as the discriminator.Experiment results show that our proposed GAN-based method is effective and performs better than state-of-the-art methods.Daojian Zeng Yuan Dai Feng Li R.Simon Sherratt Jin Wang 2018Computers, Materials & Continua2018,,4:4
5Impacts of Typhoons Tianying and Dawei on seagrass distribution in Xincun Bay,Hainan Province,China显示文摘More than 50% of the typhoons landing in China have landed on the southeast coast,where they have caused great pressure on the coastal environment.Seagrass,one of the most important constituents of coastal ecosystems,is also greatly affected by typhoons.In order to clarify how seagrass distribution variation is affected by typhoons in coastal areas in southeast China,data of Typhoons Dawei and Tianying (category 4 and category 2 respectively,which just ran through the southern part of Hainan province) have been studied.In situ observation and satellite remote sensing data (CBERS-China Brazil Earth Resources Satellite) in 2004 and 2006 were used to retrieve seagrass distribution in Xincun Bay,Hainan province.In situ observations showed that leaf length,stem biomass and above ground biomass on average showed evidence of reduction after Typhoons Tianying and Dawei.However,seagrass density showed no evidence of reduction after typhoon Tianying and Dawei passed by and increased rapidly in January 2006.From results of satellite remote sensing data,seagrass distribution can be detected with high accuracy,and the area of seagrass distribution on the south coast of Xincun Bay in 2006 after the typhoon passed by was smaller than that in 2004 in region A and B.However,in region C,area of seagrass coverage under 20% increased.These results demonstrated that typhoons Tianying and Dawei damaged seagrass bed and helped seagrass to get rid of aged and dead leaves,and this correspondingly facilitated seagrass growth.YANG Dingtian HUANG Daojian 2011Acta Oceanologica Sinica2011,30,1:3
6Boosting multi-hole water oxidation catalysis on hematite photoanodes under low bias显示文摘The accumulation of multiple surface holes is considered to be the key to efficient photoelectrochemical(PEC)water oxidation.Previous PEC water oxidation studies commonly apply high potentials(>1.2 VRHE)to achieve this key.But how to complete multi-hole transfer under low bias(<1.2 VRHE)remains unknown.Herein,we find that,on a typical visible-light photoanode,hematite(α-Fe_(2)O_(3)),UV excitation plays a indispensable role in driving multi-hole water oxidation under low bias.Compared with the visible-light excitation,the UV excitation promotes the formation of adjacent surface-trapped holes onα-Fe_(2)O_(3) at 0.9VRHE,thereby increasing the reaction order of surface holes from~1 to~2 and improving the PEC water oxidation activity by one order of magnitude.The UV irradiation reduces the formation probability of self-trapped excitons and results in~3 to 5-fold increase of surface holes.These advantages enable the UV excitation to contribute about 40%to the total photocurrent under 1 solar illumination,even though its energy only occupies 6%of the incident light.This mechanism is also applicable to boost selective two-hole oxidation of thioether at 0.1 VFc/Fc+and nitrite at 0.9 VRHE.Lei Wu Daojian Tang Jing Xue Shuobo Wang Hongwei Ji Chuncheng Chen Yuchao Zhang Jincai Zhao 2023Science China Chemistry2023,66,3:2

9Strigolactone and gibberellin signaling coordinately regulate metabolic adaptations to changes in nitrogen availability in rice显示文摘Modern semi-dwarf rice varieties of the“Green Revolution”require a high supply of nitrogen(N)fertilizer to produce high yields.A better understanding of the interplay between N metabolism and plant developmental processes is required for improved N-use efficiency and agricultural sustainability.Here,we show that strigolactones(SLs)modulate root metabolic and developmental adaptations to low N availability for ensuring efficient uptake and translocation of available N.The key repressor DWARF 53(D53)of the SL signaling pathway interacts with the transcription factor GROWTH-REGULATING FACTOR 4(GRF4)and prevents GRF4 from binding to its target gene promoters.N limitation induces the accumulation of SLs,which in turn promotes SL-mediated degradation of D53,leading to the release of GRF4 and thus promoting the expression of genes associated with N metabolism.N limitation also induces degradation of the DELLA protein SLENDER RICE 1(SLR1)in an D14-and D53-dependent manner,effectively releasing GRF4 from competitive inhibition caused by SLR1.Collectively,our findings reveal a previously unrecognized mechanism underlying SL and gibberellin crosstalk in response to N availability,advancing our understanding of plant growth–metabolic coordination and facilitating the design of the strategies for improving N-use efficiency in high-yield crops.Huwei Sun Xiaoli Guo Xiuli Zhu Pengyuan Gu Wei Zhang Wenqing Tao Daojian Wang Yunzhe Wu Quanzhi Zhao Guohua Xu Xiangdong Fu Yali Zhang 2023Molecular Plant2023,16,3:1

12Giant enhancement and anomalous temperature dependence of magnetism in monodispersed NiPt2 nanoparticles显示文摘A simple yet general one-step solvothermal method is applied to synthesizesub-7 nm monodispersed single-crystal NiPt2 nanoparticles (NPs) with themorphology of truncated octahedrons in the alloying state of disordered atomicarrangements. The effective magnetic moments of these NPs exhibit an anomaloustemperature dependency, increasing from approximately 0.9 μB/atom at 15 K to1.9 μB/atom at 300 K. This is an increase by a factor of more than three comparedwith bulk Ni. 14Carbonization fabrication of a piezoresistive sensor with improved sensitivity via Ni decoration of carbonized cotton fibers显示文摘The development of wearable electronics urgently requires the cost-effective and scalable fabrication of high-performance pressure sensors.This work aims to develop a simple carbonization strategy to facilitate sensor sensitivity by decorating discrete nickel nanoparticles on carbonized cotton fibers(CCFs).The increased air gap between the fibers at the unloading state,as well as the enlargement of the deformation distance and the contact area between the conductive materials at the loading state,contribute to a more significant resistance change.Therefore,the sensitivity of the piezoresistive sensor is improved more than 5 times within 1 N by introducing Ni nanoparticles,and it is characterized by a rapid response(~160 ms)and recovery(~100 ms),wide detection range(~20 N/~130 kPa),and good durability(~4000 cycles).The flexible sensor has been successfully demonstrated to monitor human movements,physical stimuli,and pressure distribution.Furthermore,the proposed device can control temperature accurately as a uniform and large-scale heater.This work reveals that the Ni@CCFs-based sensor is prospective in wearable electronics,artificial intelligence,health monitoring,medical diagnosis and treatment.HE Xiang WANG FengMing LIANG YiYing WU JiaWei LIANG JiongHong SHEN GengZhe LI BaiJun SU DaoJian ZHANG Chi SONG WeiDong HE Xin 2022Science China(Technological Sciences)2022,65,12:0
15Joint Event Extraction Based on Global Event-Type Guidance and Attention Enhancement显示文摘Event extraction is one of the most challenging tasks in information extraction.It is a common phenomenon where multiple events exist in the same sentence.However,extracting multiple events is more difficult than extracting a single event.Existing event extraction methods based on sequence models ignore the interrelated information between events because the sequence is too long.In addition,the current argument extraction relies on the results of syntactic dependency analysis,which is complicated and prone to error trans-mission.In order to solve the above problems,a joint event extraction method based on global event-type guidance and attention enhancement was proposed in this work.Specifically,for multiple event detection,we propose a global-type guidance method that can detect event types in the candidate sequence in advance to enhance the correlation information between events.For argument extraction,we converted it into a table-flling problem,and proposed a table-flling method of the attention mechanism,that is simple and can enhance the correlation between trigger words and arguments.The experimental results based on the ACE 2005 dataset showed that the proposed method achieved 1.6%improvement in the task of event detection,and obtained state-of-the-art results in the argument extraction task,which proved the effectiveness of the method.Daojian Zeng Jian Tian Ruoyao Peng Jianhua Dai Hui Gao Peng Peng 2021Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,9:0

17Oxygen-Reconstituted Active Species of Single-Atom Cu Catalysts for Oxygen Reduction Reaction显示文摘Identification of an active center of catalysts under realistic working conditions of oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)still remains a great challenge and unclear.Herein,we synthesize the Cu single atom embedded on nitrogen-doped graphene-like matrix electrocatalyst(abbreviated as SA-Cu/NG).The results show that SA-Cu/NG possesses a higher ORR capability than 20%Pt/C at alkaline solution while the inferior activity to 20%Pt/C at acidic medium.Based on the experiment and simulation calculation,we identify the atomic structure of Cu-N_(2)C_(2) in SA-Cu/NG and for the first time unravels that the oxygenreconstituted Cu-N_(2)C_(2)-O structure is really the active species of alkaline ORR,while the oxygen reconstitution does not happen at acidic medium.The finding of oxygen-reconstituted active species of SA-Cu/NG at alkaline media successfully unveils the bottleneck puzzle of why the performance of ORR catalysts at alkaline solution is better than that at acidic media,which provides new physical insight into the development of new ORR catalysts.Liu Yang Haoxiang Xu Huibing Liu Xiaofei Zeng Daojian Cheng Yan Huang Lirong Zheng Rui Cao Dapeng Cao 2020Research2020,,1:0
18High-throughput synthesis of size-controlled Pt-based catalysts显示文摘Pt catalysts are commonly used for chemical reaction processes due to its high catalytic activity and selectivity.Notably,the size of metal particles often has a significant impact on the performance of the metal-loaded catalysts.Therefore,developing highly efficiently synthesis method for the size control of Pt catalysts has great development prospects and research value.In this study,high-throughput size tuning of Pt-based catalysts was achieved by carbonizing the carriers.The experimental and characterization results showed that the size of the loaded Pt nanoparticles varied with different concentrations of glucose solution during carriers carbonization process.The reduction of 4-nitrophenol as a template reaction indicated that the reaction rate constant of the catalyst is approximately linear with the size of Pt particles.Importantly,a laboratory-built high-throughput synthesis system was applied for the catalyst synthesis,which enhances the automation of the laboratory exploratory experiments and makes it possible to synthesize catalysts with controllable size in batches.Zhuoran Deng Liqiang Zhao Daojian Cheng 2023Particuology2023,,12:0
19Solar-driven green synthesis of epoxides显示文摘Epoxides are one of the most important intermediates used in the production of valuable chemicals. Traditional preparation methods often rely on hazardous oxidants or extensive fossil fuel-powered thermal catalytic systems, resulting in significant waste production and CO_(2) emissions. Solar-driven photo(electro)chemistry is an emerging option for achieving the environmentally-friendly synthesis of epoxides. In this review, we firstly summarize the fundamental understanding of epoxidation reactions among various systems, including molecular catalysis, heterogeneous thermal catalysis and electrocatalysis. Then, we focus on the recent advances in the synthesis of epoxides achieved by photo(electro)chemical approaches.
