1Staged carotid artery angioplasty and stenting for patients with high-grade carotid stenosis with high risk of developing hyperperfusion injury:a retrospective analysis of 44 cases显示文摘Background:Hyperperfusion syndrome(HPS)is a rare but potentially a life-threatening complication after carotid artery angioplasty and stenting(CAS).Staged CAS has been an alternative to prevent HPS.Materials and methods:44 of 908 patients with high-grade internal carotid artery stenosis or near occlusion were at risk of HPS because of poor collateral flow and impaired cerebral blood flow(CBF).They were treated with first(stage 1),followed by a full CAS(stage 2)1 month later.Their 30-day outcomes were tabulated and analysed.Results:During follow-up,1 of the 44(2.2%)patients developed HPS immediately,3(7%)had postprocedural HPS(ie,transcranial Doppler(TCD)>120%)without clinical symptoms and 3(7%)required stenting at stage 1 for carotid dissections.After stage 1,there were significant improvement between the preprocedural and postprocedural CBF(0.98±0.06 vs 0.85±0.05,p<0.05),mean transit time(MTT;1.05±0.05 vs 1.15±0.05,p<0.05),time to peak(TTP;1.04±0.06 vs 1.20±0.06,p<0.05)on CT perfusion(CTP),and CBF(66.41±7.41 vs 44.44±6.43,p<0.05)on TCD.After stage 2,improvement was seen in CBF(1.01±0.07 vs 0.98±0.06,p<0.05),MTT(1.01±0.05 vs 1.05±0.05,p<0.05),TTP(0.99±0.06 vs 1.04±0.06,p<0.05)on CTP and CBF(66.41±7.41 vs 93.78±18.81,p<0.05)on TCD.2 had postoperative increase of middle cerebral artery mean flow velocity of 120%after stage 2 without clinical symptoms.Conclusion:Staged carotid artery stenting probably decreased the chance of developing HPS in this group of selected patients.Although requiring a 2-step intervention,staged CAS may be a safe and effective alternative.Dapeng Mo Gang Luo Bo Wang Ning Ma Feng Gao Xuan Sun Xiaotong Xu Zhongrong Miao 2016Stroke & Vascular Neurology2016,1,4:14

6The discovery of surface runoff in the megadunes of Badain Jaran Desert,China,and its significance显示文摘The Badain Jaran Desert exhibits the greatest difference in altitude of all of the world's deserts.On the slopes of megadunes in the desert,there are physical and chemical deposits produced by surface runoff.In addition,we have observed rarely-seen infiltration-excess surface runoff in the megadune depressions as well as spring streams at the base of megadunes.We used electron microscopy,energy spectrum analysis,infiltration experiments,moisture content determinations and grain-size analysis to study the mineral and chemical composition of the runoff precipitates,and grain-size of the deposits associated with the runoff,together with the hydrological balance in the megadune area,and the atmospheric precipitation mechanism responsible for groundwater recharge and for supplying water to lakes.The observations of shallow runoff and infiltration-excess surface runoff indicate the occurrence of strong and effective precipitation in summer,which would provide an important source for groundwater recharge.Several lines of evidence,such as the physical and chemical deposits resulting from shallow subsurface runoff,spring streams,infiltration-excess runoff,and gravity capillary water with a moisture content of 3-6%,demonstrate that precipitation reaches the base of the megadunes through infiltration and subsequently becomes groundwater.The chemical deposits,such as newly-formed calcite and gypsum,and gray-black physical deposits,as well as different stages in the development of fan-shaped landforms resulting from shallow subsurface runoff,indicate that groundwater recharge in the area is the result of long-term precipitation,rather than intermittent individual major rainfall events.Fine sand layers with a low infiltration capacity lead to subsurface runoff emerging at the ground surface.Five factors play an important role in maintaining a positive water balance and in replenishing groundwater via rainfall:effective rainfall as a water source,the high infiltration capacity of the sands enabling rainfall to rapidly become capillary water in the dunes,low evapotranspiration rates due to the sparse vegetation,the fact that the depth of the sand layer influenced by evaporation is shallow enough to maximize the deep infiltration of rainfall,and rapidly-moving gravity capillary water in the sandy dunes.These five factors together constitute a mechanism for groundwater recharge from rainfall,and explain the origin of the groundwater and lakes in the area.Our findings represent a significant advance in research on the hydrological cycle,including groundwater recharge conditions and recharge mechanisms,in this desert region.ZHAO JingBo MA YanDong LUO XiaoQing YUE DaPeng SHAO TianJie DONG ZhiBao 2017Science China Earth Sciences2017,60,4:3

8Catalyst-Free In Situ Carbon Nanotube Growth in Confined Space via High Temperature Gradient显示文摘Carbonaceous materials,such as graphite,carbon nanotubes(CNTs),and graphene,are in high demand for a broad range of applications,including batteries,capacitors,and composite materials.Studies on the transformation between diferent types of carbon,especially from abundant and low-cost carbon to high-end carbon allotropes,have received surging interest.Here,we report that,without a catalyst or an external carbon source,biomass-derived amorphous carbon and defective reduced graphene oxide(RGO)can be quickly transformed into CNTs in highly confned spaces by high temperature Joule heating.Combined with experimental measurements and molecular dynamics simulations,we propose that Joule heating induces a high local temperature at defect sites due to the corresponding high local resistance.Te resultant temperature gradient in amorphous carbon or RGO drives the migration of carbon atoms and promotes the growth of CNTs without using a catalyst or external carbon source.Our fndings on the growth of CNTs in confned spaces by fast high temperature Joule heating shed light on the controlled transition between diferent carbon allotropes,which can be extended to the growth of other high aspect ratio nanomaterials.Chaoji Chen Yanan Chen Shuze Zhu Jiaqi Dai Glenn Pastel Yonggang Yao Dapeng Liu Yanbin Wang Jiayu Wan Teng Li Wei Luo Liangbing Hu 2018Research2018,,1:2

12A facile strategy of in-situ anchoring of Co_(3)O_(4) on N doped carbon cloth for an ultrahigh electrochemical performance显示文摘Enhancement of supercapacitors(SCs)with high-energy density and high-power density is still a great challenge.In this paper,a facile strategy for in situ anchoring of Co_(3)O_(4) particles on N doped carbon cloth(pCoNCC)is reported.Due to the interaction of the doped N and Co_(3)O_(4),the electrochemical performance improves significantly,reaching 1,940.13 mF·cm^(−2) at 1 mA·cm^(−2) and energy density of 172.46μWh·cm^(−2) at the power density of 400μW·cm^(−2),much larger than that without N doping electrode of 28.5 mF·cm^(−2).An aqueous symmetric supercapacitor(ASSC)assembled by two pCoNCC electrodes achieves a maximum energy density of 447.42μWh·cm^(−2) and a highest power density of 8,000μW·cm^(−2).Utilizing such a high-energy storage ASSC,a digital watch and a temperature-humidity detector are powered for nearly 1 and 2 h,respectively.Moreover,the ASSC displays a superb electrochemical stability of 87.7%retention after 10,000 cycles at 40 mA·cm^(−2).This work would provide a new sight to enhance active materials performance and be beneficial for the future energy storage and supply systems.Junlin Lu Jien Li Jing Wan Xiangyu Han Peiyuan Ji Shuang Luo Mingxin Gu Dapeng Wei Chenguo Hu 2021Nano Research2021,14,7:0
13Selection of Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes According to Both Their Diameter and Chirality via Nanotweezers显示文摘Diameter- and chirality-dependent interactions between aromatic molecule-based nanotweezers and single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) are revealed by density functional theory calculations. We found that the threshold diameter of selected SWNTs is determined by the end-to-end distance of the nanotweezer. Large-diameter SWNTs are preferred by a nanotweezer with an obtuse folding angle, whereas small-diameter SWNTs are favored by a nanotweezer with an acute folding angle. The adsorption can be further stabilized by the orientational alignment of the hexagonal rings of the nanotweezer and the SWNT sidewall. 16Screening and Identification of a Bacterial Strain Antagonistic to Vibrio parahaemolyticus显示文摘In the present study,bacterial strains were isolated from the shrimp(Penaeus orientalis)ponds in different regions of Hainan Province,and tested for their antagonistic activity against Vibrio species on 2216E plates,using V.parahaemolyticus,V.harveyi and V.anguillarum as the indicator bacteria.As a result,an antagonistic strain was screened out and numbered 20160522Z-10(referred to as Z-10).Then,the antibacterial activity and minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC)of Z-10 against the indicator bacteria,and its antibacterial effect against other six Vibrio species were determined.The results proved that Z-10 was antagonistic to all the three indicator bacteria,and its MIC against V.parahaemolyticus,V.harveyi and V.anguillarum was 2.5×10~4,2.5×10~5 and 2.5×10~5 CFU/ml.Additionally,Z-10 had a certain antibacterial effect against other Vibrio species.Finally,the strain was identified as a Pseudoalteromonas sp.by 16S rDNA sequence analysis.The bacterium as a new probiotic,is expected to be used in disease prevention and control in marine aquaculture.Lirong BAI Zhiying ZHAO Dapeng LUO 2017Agricultural Biotechnology2017,6,4:0
17UTM:A trajectory privacy evaluating model for online health monitoring显示文摘A huge amount of sensitive personal data is being collected by various online health monitoring applications.Although the data is anonymous,the personal trajectories(e.g.,the chronological access records of small cells)could become the anchor of linkage attacks to re-identify the users.Focusing on trajectory privacy in online health monitoring,we propose the User Trajectory Model(UTM),a generic trajectory re-identification risk predicting model to reveal the underlying relationship between trajectory uniqueness and aggregated data(e.g.,number of individuals covered by each small cell),and using the parameter combination of aggregated data to further mathematically derive the statistical characteristics of uniqueness(i.e.,the expectation and the variance).Eventually,exhaustive simulations validate the effectiveness of the UTM in privacy risk evaluation,confirm our theoretical deductions and present counter-intuitive insights.Zhigang Yang Ruyan Wang Dapeng Wu Daizhong Luo 2021Digital Communications and Networks2021,7,3:0
