| 1 | BZR1 Family Transcription Factors Function Redundantly and Indispensably in BR Signaling but Exhibit BRI1-Independent Function in Regulating Anther Development in Arabidopsis显示文摘BRASSINAZOLE-RESISTANT 1 family proteins(BZRs)are central transcription factors that govern brassinosteroid(BR)-regulated gene expression and plant growth.However,it is unclear whether there exists a BZR-independent pathway that mediates BR signaling.In this study,we found that disruption of all BZRs in Arabidopsis generated a hextuple mutant(bzr-h)displaying vegetative growth phenotypes that were almost identical to those of the null mutant of three BR receptors,bri1brl1brl3(bri-t).By RNA sequencing,we found that global gene expression in bzr-h was unaffected by 2 h of BR treatment.The anthers of bzr-h plants were loculeless,but a similar phenotype was not observed in bri-t,suggesting that BZRs have a BR signaling-independent regulatory role in anther development.By real-time PCR and in situ hybridization,we found that the expression of SPOROCYTELESS(SPL),which encodes a transcription factor essential for anther locule development,was barely detectable in bzr-h,suggesting that BZRs regulate locule development by affecting SPL expression.Our findings reveal that BZRs are indispensable transcription factors required for both BR signaling and anther locule development,providing new insight into the molecular mechanisms underlying the microsporogenesis in Arabidopsis. | Lian-Ge Chen Zhihua Gao Zhiying Zhao Xinye Liu Yongpeng Li Yuxiang Zhang Xigang Liu Yu Sun Wenqiang Tang | 2019 | Molecular Plant2019,12,10: | 11 |
| 2 | IL-25 stimulates M2 macrophage polarization and thereby promotes mitochondrial respiratory capacity and lipolysis in adipose tissues against obesity显示文摘Obesity and associated metabolic diseases are characterized by a chronic low-grade inflammatory state with the infiltration of many inflammatory cells,especially macrophages.Immune molecules,including some cytokines,have a close relationship with metabolism.Interleukin(IL)-25 is a member of the IL-17 cytokine family that can regulate macrophages and alleviate some metabolic dysfunction;however,its role and mechanisms in lipid metabolism remain to be extensively clarified.Human serum and liver biopsy specimens,high-fat diet-induced obesity mice and DB/DB(Lepr−/−)animal models were used to examine IL-25 expression in obesity and nonalcoholic fatty liver diseases(NAFLD).To observe the role of IL-25 in lipid metabolism,model mice were administered with IL-25 or adoptively transferred with IL-25-educated macrophages in vivo,whereas bone marrow-derived macrophages,the macrophage cell line RAW264.7 and adipocytes differentiated from 3T3-L1 were used in vitro.IL-25 was decreased in NAFLD patients and obese mice.In addition,IL-25 reduced body weight gain and lipid accumulation,enhanced lipid uptake by macrophages and increased the expression of lipolysis andβ-oxidation enzymes via alternatively activating macrophages.IL-25 also promoted lipolysis and suppressed lipogenesis in adipocytes co-cultured with the IL-25-educated macrophages.Furthermore,IL-25 improved the mitochondrial respiratory capacity and oxygen consumption rate of macrophages and produced more NAD+/NADH and ATP.In conclusion,IL-25 can stimulate M2 macrophage polarization and thereby promote lipolysis and mitochondrial respiratory capacity,highlighting the potential for IL-25 to be used as a therapeutic agent against obesity and associated metabolic syndromes. | Juan Feng Lingyi Li Zhiying Ou Qiao Li Baoyong Gong Zhenxian Zhao Weiwei Qi Ti Zhou Jun Zhong Weibin Cai Xia Yang Aiping Zhao Guoquan Gao Zhonghan Yang | 2018 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2018,15,5: | 10 |

| 4 | Clinical diagnosis and treatment of alpha-fetoprotein-negative small hepatic lesions显示文摘Objective: We examined 103 cases over the last five years and discussed diagnosis and treatment of alpha- fetoprotein (AFP)-negative small hepatic lesions. Background: Small hepatic lesions (less than 2 cm in diameter) usually have no typical imaging characteristics and therefore are difficult to diagnose, especially when AFP tests provide a negative result. Methods: A total of 103 patients with AFP-negative small hepatic lesions from January 2003 to December 2008 were retrospectively reviewed. Differential diagnosis was performed by digital subtraction angiography (DSA), dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI), contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS), or positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) based on the multiplicity of lesions. Ninety-four patients with suspected cancers underwent partial hepatectomy. Clinical data were collected from hospital records and follow-up questionnaires. Results: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) diagnostic sensitivity of DSA, DCE-MRI, CEUS and PET-CT was 88.2%, 93.9%, 88.9% and 88.9%, respectively. The surgery-related complication rate was 6.4%. Prognosis was good, with 1- and 3-year survival rates of 98.8% and 76.1%, respectively. Conclusions: DSA, DCE-MRI, CEUS and PET-CT are valuable for diagnosis of small hepatic lesions. Partial hepatectomy is a preferred surgical procedure. | 5 | Experimental and modeling study of NO emission under high CO_2 concentration显示文摘An experimental and numerical study of the NOx formation and reduction process in a designed coal combustion furnace under both traditional air atmosphere and O2/CO2 atmosphere was conducted, in an attempt to explore the chemistry mechanism of the experimentally observed NOx suppression under high CO2 concentration atmospheres. A simplified ‘chemically oriented’ approach, computational fluid dynamics (CFD)-chemical kinetics modeling method, was validated and used to model the experimental process. The high CO2 concentration’s chemical effect on NO reduction has been studied, and the differences in NOx reaction behaviors between O2/CO2 atmosphere and air atmosphere were analyzed by detailed chemical kinetic model. On the basis of investigations through elementary chemical reactions, it can be concluded that high CO2 concentration plays an important role on NOx conversion process during oxy-fuel combustion. Moreover, the dominant reaction steps and the most important reactions for NO conversion under different atmospheres were discussed. | 8 | Capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducer as a resonant temperature sensor显示文摘Resonant temperature sensors have drawn considerable attention for their advantages such as high sensitivity,digitized signal output and high precision.This paper presents a new type of resonant temperature sensor,which uses capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducer(CMUT)as the sensing element.A lumped electro-mechanical-thermal model was established to show its working principle for temperature measurement.The theoretical model explicitly explains the thermally induced changes in the resonant frequency of the CMUT.Then,the finite element method was used to further investigate the sensing performance.The numerical results agree well with the established analytical model qualitatively.The numerical results show that the resonant frequency varies linearly with the temperature over the range of 20℃to 140℃ at the first four vibrating modes.However,the first order vibrating mode shows a higher sensitivity than the other three higher modes.When working at the first order vibrating mode,the temperature coefficient of the resonance frequency(TCf)can reach as high as-1114.3 ppm/℃ at a bias voltage equal to 90%of the collapse voltage of the MCUT.The corresponding nonlinear error was as low as 1.18%.It is discovered that the sensing sensitivity is dependent on the applied bias voltages.A higher sensitivity can be achieved by increasing the bias voltages. | LI Zhikang Rahman hebibul ZHAO Libo YE Zhiying ZHAO Yulong JIANG Zhuangde | 2014 | Instrumentation2014,1,3: | 3 |
| 9 | Variation of the Vaginal Microbiome During and After Pregnancy in Chinese Women显示文摘A comprehensive profiling of the vaginal microbial communities and their variability enables an accurate description of the microbiome in women.However,there is a lack of studies available on Chinese women.In the present study,the composition of the vaginal microbiota during pregnancy and the 6-week postpartum period of 454 Chinese women was characterized by sequencing the V3-V4 region of the 16S ribosomal RNA(rRNA)gene.The vaginal microbiome showed variations during pregnancy and the postpartum period based on the abortion history,hypertensive disorders,delivery mode,and maternal age.Co-variation of 22 bacterial taxa,including the Lactobacillus genus and two of its species,may account for the common characteristics of the vaginal microbiome under scenarios of different medical histories and pregnancy outcomes.In contrast,discriminant bacterial species were significantly different between women who had preterm birth(PTB)with and without premature rupture of membranes(PROM),and the community state type(CST)IV-A without any predominant Lactobacillus species in the microbiota was more prevalent during pregnancy in the PROM-PTB cases,suggesting that specific bacterial species could be considered to distinguish between different types of PTB.By providing data on Chinese women,this study will enrich the knowledge of the human microbiome and contribute to a better understanding of the association between the vaginal microbiome and reproductive health. | Xiaoai Zhang Qingzhi Zhai Jinfeng Wang Xiuling Ma Bo Xing Hang Fan Zhiying Gao Fangqing Zhao Wei Liu | 2022 | Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2022,20,2: | 2 |

| 11 | Establishment of Real-time Fluorescent RT-LAMP Detection Method for Grouper Nervous Necrosis Virus显示文摘Nervous necrosis virus( NNV) is the causative agent of fulminant infectious diseases in marine fishes such as grouper. Specific primers were designed based on the conserved sequence of capsid protein( CP) gene of red-spotted grouper nervous necrosis virus( NNV). By optimizing the reaction conditions,a rapid and simple reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification( RT-LAMP) method was established for NNV detection. After adding SYTO-9 fluorescent dye in the reaction system,the amplification curve was monitored in real time using a fluorescence detector,and the result was obviously easy to assess. Moreover,the specificity and sensitivity of the established method was analyzed. The results showed that the established RT-LAMP method has good specificity with a detection limit of 1. 3 pg/μl. The detection sensitivity of the established RT-LAMP method is 100 times that of the conventional RT-PCR method,and the detection duration is only 40 min. | 15 | Effects of Temperature and pH on Embryonic Development and Survival Rate of Newly Hatched Larvae of Epinephelus fuscoguttatus显示文摘The effects of temperature and pH on embryonic development and survival rate of newly hatched larvae of Epinephelus fuscoguttatus were discussed by single factor experiment method.Under a salinity of 31‰,fertilized eggs were incubated at different temperatures( 17,20,23,26,29( control),32,35 ℃) and different pH values( 5.5,6.0,6.5,7.0,7.5,8.0,8.4( control),8.5,9.0,9.5 and 10.0),the development rate of fertilized eggs,hatching rate,deformity rate,survival rate of newly hatched larvae,and optimum temperature and pH ranges for embryonic development were recorded and analyzed.The results showed that the incubation period y required by fertilized eggs was in remarkably negative correlation with temperature x,y = 4 017.3x^(-1.527 7),R^2= 0.971 3.At 29 ℃,the hatching rate was the highest,up to 92.00%; this temperature was corresponding to the lowest deformity rate of newly hatched larvae( 1.09%); corresponding effective accumulative temperature was also the lowest( 437.410 ℃·h),and significantly different from other experimental groups( P < 0.05); but on the contrary,corresponding survival rates at 24 and 48 h reached,respectively,88.03% and 82.97% which were significantly different from other experimental groups( P <0.05).At the pH of 8.4 in the CK group and the pH of 8.5 of one experimental group,the embryonic development rates were the highest; corresponding hatching rates of fertilized eggs were the highest,respectively,of 88.33% and 83.33% which were significantly different from other groups( P < 0.05); and corresponding survival rates at 24 and 48 h were the highest,and reached 90.84% and 85.03%,respectively.In the pH range of 8.0- 8.5,the deformity rate of newly hatched larvae was 0.It was indicating that for embryonic development of E.fuscoguttatus,the suitable water temperature value was in the range of 17- 29 ℃,the optimum value was in the range of 23- 29℃; and the suitable pH value was in the range of 6.5- 9.5,and the optimum value was in the range of 8.0- 8.5. | Lirong BAI Zhiying ZHAO | 2016 | Agricultural Biotechnology2016,5,5: | 1 |
| 16 | Evaluation of the antioxidant activity of blueberry ethanol extracts under microwave extraction显示文摘Blueberry extract contains diversiform monomers of anthocyanins, whose antioxidant activity determines the functionality of anthocyanidins and the efficacy of extraction technology. The evaluation of the antioxidant activity of anthocyanidins of blueberry ethanol extracts (BEE) was investigated by considering the monomers' identification and thermal degradation in microwave-assisted extraction (MAE). Thirteen monomers of anthocyanins were identified from the extracts of blueberry under MAE, where the highest content was for cyanidin glycosides, and the lowest content was for the malvidin glycosides. The onset temperatures of degradation for anthocyanidins monomers in BEE were 41.07°C-48.50°C, and the glycoside contents of delphinidin, cyanidin, petunidin, peonidin, peonidin, and malvidin, in turn, decreased obviously. The degradation of anthocyanidins with extraction temperature improved, other than weakened, its antioxidant activities in BEE under MAE. | 18 | Effect of Female Reproduction and Mate Choice on Sexual Size Dimorphism in the Northeast Treefrog Hyla ussuriensis (Anura:Hylidae) in China显示文摘Sexual size dimorphism(SSD) plays a significant role in understanding the evolution of life history and mating behavior. In this study,we analyzed the morphological data from a treefrog,Hyla ussuriensis,in northeastern China and found that there are significant differences between males and females. Females that are larger in body size increase fecundity as the total number of eggs is positively correlated to female body size. Males are smaller in body size due to the mate choice by females based on the size dimorphism index(SVL mean of female divided by that of male) for the population,which may be an evolutionary stable strategy(ESS). SSD can be influenced not only through mate choice,but also reproductive behavior by analyzing the female reproduction output in the field. Our data are consistent with many previous studies,indicating that fecundity selection and sexual selection may be the common cause for sexual dimorphism in this species. Furthermore,there are no significant morphological differences between mated and unmated frogs of both sexes,which suggests that any frog can obtain a breeding chance when it matures. It further indicates that males may not affect female choice except by their snout-vent length(SVL) and body mass. It is,of course,possible that females adopt a mating strategy to mate with males whose SVL and body mass are smaller than paired females.
