1Transition metal carbides in electrocatalytic oxygen evolution reaction显示文摘Oxygen evolution reaction(OER) is admitted to an important half reaction in water splitting for sustainable hydrogen production.The sluggish four-electron process is known to be the bottleneck for enhancing the efficiency of OER.In this regard,tremendous efforts have been devoted to developing effective catalysts for OER.In addition to Ir-or Ru-based oxides taken as the benchmark,transition metal carbides have attracted ever-increasing interest due to the high activity and stability as low-cost OER electrocatalysts.In this review,the transition metal carbides for water oxidation electrocatalysis concerning design strategies and synthesis are briefly summarized.Some typical applications for various carbides are also highlighted.Besides,the development trends and outlook are also discussed.Huaping Wang Sheng Zhu Jiwei Deng Wenchao Zhang Yuezhan Feng Jianmin Ma 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,1:5
2Autotoxicity of Phthalate Esters in Tobacco Root Exudates:Effects on Seed Germination and Seedling Growth显示文摘Autotoxicity is one of the major factors that impede continuous cropping.It is defined as the toxic influence of chemicals released from one plant species on the germination and growth of individuals of the same species.Here, in order to exam the autotoxicity of tobacco root exudates, root exudates were collected from tobacco plants grown both in cultural solution and on natural soil.Using ultraperformance liquid chromatography coupled with triple-quadrupole tandem mass spectrometry, main autotoxic chemical substances in the root exudates were identified.The autotoxic effects of suspected autotoxins on seed germination(including germination rate,germination potential, germination index, and vigor index) and seedling growth were analyzed.Dibutyl phthalate(or diisobutyl phthalate), dioctyl phthalate, and diisooctyl phthalate were identified in tobacco root exudates.It was observed that high concentrations(greater than 0.5 mmol L^(-1)) of each identified phthalate ester caused significant(P < 0.05) inhibition of tobacco seed germination and seedling growth.It can be concluded that phthalate esters such as dibutyl phthalate, diisobutyl phthalate, and diisooctyl phthalate in tobacco root exudates may play an important role in tobacco autotoxicity.DENG Jiajun ZHANG Yanling HU Jiwei JIAO Jiaguo HU Feng LI Huixin ZHANG Shixiang 2017Pedosphere2017,27,6:5
3Electrospun Sb2Se3@C nanofibers with excellent lithium storage properties显示文摘Antimony-based materials have become promising anodes within lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)due to their low cost and the high theoretical capacity.However,there is a potential to further enhance the electrochemical performance of such antimony-based materials.Herein,Sb2Se3@C nanofibers(Sb2Se3@CNFs)are designed and obtained via a novel electrospinning method.Upon electrochemically testing as an anode within LIBs,the Sb2Se3@CNFs(annealed at 600℃)delivers a remarkably good cycling performance of 625 mAh/g at 100 mA/g after 100 cycles.Moreover,it still remains at 490 mAh/g after 500 cycles with an applied current density of 1.0 A/g.The excellent performance of the Sb2 Se3@CNFs can be attributed to the fact that the N-doped C matrices not only remit the volume expansion of materials,but also enhance the electrical and ionic conductivity thusly increasing the lithium-ion diffusion.The obtained Sb2Se3@CNFs are promising anode for LIBs in the future.Yan Dong Yuezhan Feng Jiwei Deng Pengbin He Jianmin Ma 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,3:4
4Carbon inputs regulate the temperature sensitivity of soil respiration in temperate forests显示文摘Litter and root activities may alter the temperature sensitivity(Q_(10))of soil respiration.However,existing studies have not provided a comprehensive understanding of the effects of litter and root carbon inputs on the Q_(10)of soil respiration in different seasons.In this study,we used the trench method under in situ conditions to measure the total soil respiration(R_(total)),litter-removed soil respiration(R_(no-litter)),root-removed soil respiration(R_(no-root)),and the decomposition of soil organic matter(i.e.,both litter and root removal;R_(SOM))in different seasons of pioneer(Populus davidiana Dode)and climax(Quercus liaotungensis Mary)forests on the Loess Plateau,China.Soil temperature,soil moisture,litter biomass,fine root biomass,litter carbon,and root carbon were analyzed to obtain the drive mechanism of the Q_(10)of soil respiration in the two forests.The results showed that the Q_(10)of soil respiration exhibited seasonality,and the Q_(10)of soil respiration was higher in summer.The litter enhanced the Q_(10)of soil respiration considerably more than the root did.Soil temperature,soil moisture,fine root biomass,and litter carbon were the main factors used to predict the Q_(10)of different soil respiration components.These findings indicated that factors affecting the Q_(10)of soil respiration highly depended on soil temperature and soil moisture as well as related litter and root traits in the two forests,which can improve our understanding of soil carbon–climate feedback in global warming.The results of this study can provide reference for exploring soil respiration under temperate forest restoration.LIU Yulin LI Jiwei HAI Xuying WU Jianzhao DONG Lingbo PAN Yingjie SHANGGUAN Zhouping WANG Kaibo DENG Lei 2022Journal of Arid Land2022,14,9:3
5DOA estimation of incoherently distributed sources using importance sampling maximum likelihood显示文摘In this paper, an importance sampling maximum likelihood(ISML) estimator for direction-of-arrival(DOA) of incoherently distributed(ID) sources is proposed. Starting from the maximum likelihood estimation description of the uniform linear array(ULA), a decoupled concentrated likelihood function(CLF) is presented. A new objective function based on CLF which can obtain a closed-form solution of global maximum is constructed according to Pincus theorem. To obtain the optimal value of the objective function which is a complex high-dimensional integral,we propose an importance sampling approach based on Monte Carlo random calculation. Next, an importance function is derived, which can simplify the problem of generating random vector from a high-dimensional probability density function(PDF) to generate random variable from a one-dimensional PDF. Compared with the existing maximum likelihood(ML) algorithms for DOA estimation of ID sources, the proposed algorithm does not require initial estimates, and its performance is closer to CramerRao lower bound(CRLB). 12Manipulated precipitation regulated carbon and phosphorus limitations of microbial metabolisms in a temperate grassland on the Loess Plateau,China显示文摘Manipulated precipitation patterns can profoundly influence the metabolism of soil microorganisms.However,the responses of soil organic carbon(SOC)and nutrient turnover to microbial metabolic limitation under changing precipitation conditions remain unclear in semi-arid ecosystems.This study measured the potential activities of enzymes associated with carbon(C:β-1,4-glucosidase(BG)andβ-D-cellobiosidase(CBH)),nitrogen(N:β-1,4-N-acetylglucosaminidase(NAG)and L-leucine aminopeptidase(LAP))and phosphorus(P:alkaline phosphatase(AP))acquisition,to quantify soil microbial metabolic limitations using enzymatic stoichiometry,and then identify the implications for soil microbial metabolic limitations and carbon use efficiency(CUE)under decreased precipitation by 50%(DP)and increased precipitation by 50%(IP)in a temperate grassland.The results showed that soil C and P were the major elements limiting soil microbial metabolism in temperate grasslands.There was a strong positive dependence between microbial C and P limitations under manipulated precipitation.Microbial metabolism limitation was promoted by DP treatment but reversed by IP treatment.Moreover,CUE was inhibited by DP treatment but promoted by IP treatment.Soil microbial metabolism limitation was mainly regulated by soil moisture and soil C,N,and P stoichiometry,followed by available nutrients(i.e.,NO^(-)_(3),NH^(+)_(4),and dissolved organic C)and microbial biomass(i.e.,MBC and MBN).Overall,these findings highlight the potential role of changing precipitation in regulating ecosystem C turnover by limiting microbial metabolism and CUE in temperate grassland ecosystems.HAI Xuying LI Jiwei LIU Yulin WU Jianzhao LI Jianping SHANGGUAN Zhouping DENG Lei 2022Journal of Arid Land2022,14,10:0

14Soil microbial respiration is regulated by stoichiometric imbalances: Evidence from a humidity gradient case显示文摘Humidity not only affects soil microbial respiration(SMR) directly, but, indirectly by regulating the availability of soil water and nutrients. However,the patterns of direct and indirect effects of humidity on SMR over large precipitation gradients remain unclear, limiting our understanding of the effects of precipitation changes on soil C cycle. Here, we investigated the relationships among humidity, soil nutrients, and SMR by identifying stoichiometric imbalances, microbial elemental homeostasis, and microbial C use efficiency along a precipitation gradient at a continental scale. The relationship between SMR and humidity index(HI) corresponded to a Richard’s curve with an inflection point threshold value of approximately 0.7. Soil microbial respiration increased with increasing humidity in drier areas(HI < 0.7), but tended to balance above this threshold. Increasing humidity exacerbated C:P and N:P imbalances across the selected gradient. Severe N and P limitations in soil microbial communities were observed in drier areas, while soil microbes suffered from aggravated P limitation as the humidity increased in wetter areas(HI > 0.7). Soil microbial communities regulated their enzyme production to maintain a strong stoichiometric homeostasis in drier areas;enzyme production, microbial biomass, and threshold elemental ratios were non-homeostatic under P limitation in wetter areas, which further contributed to the increase in SMR. Our results identified a moisture constraint on SMR in drier areas and highlighted the importance of nutrient(especially for P) limitations induced by humidity in regulating SMR in wetter areas.
