1A distributed measurement method for in-situ soil moisture content by using carbon-fiber heated cable显示文摘Moisture content is a fundamental physical index that quantifies soil property and is closely associated with the hydrological,ecological and engineering behaviors of soil.To measure in-situ soil moisture contents,a distributed measurement system for in-situ soil moisture content(SM-DTS) is introduced.The system is based on carbon-fiber heated cable(CKHC) technology that has been developed to enhance the measuring accuracy of in-situ soil moisture content.Using CFHC technique,a temperature characteristic value(T_t) can be defined from temperature-time curves.A relationship among T_t,soil thermal impedance coefficient and soil moisture content is then established in laboratory.The feasibility of the SM-DTS technology to provide distributed measurements of in-situ soil moisture content is verified through field tests.The research reported herein indicates that the proposed SM-DTS is capable of measuring in-situ soil moisture content over long distances and large areas.Dingfeng Cao Bin Shi Honghu Zhu Guangqing Wei Shen-En Chen Junfan Yan 2015Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2015,7,6:10
2Tumor-expressed B7-H3 mediates the inhibition of antitumor T-cell functions in ovarian cancer insensitive to PD-1 blockade therapy显示文摘Although PD-L1/PD-1 blockade therapy has been approved to treat many types of cancers,the majority of patients with solid tumors do not respond well,but the underlying reason remains unclear.Here,we studied ovarian cancer(OvCa),a tumor type generally resistant to current immunotherapies,to investigate PD-1-independent immunosuppression.We found that PD-L1 was not highly expressed in the tumor microenvironment(TME)of human OvCa.Instead,B7-H3,another checkpoint molecule,was highly expressed by both tumor cells and tumor-infiltrating antigen-presenting cells(APCs),which correlated with T-cell exhaustion in patients.Using ID8 OvCa mouse models,we found that B7-H3 expressed on tumor cells,but not host cells,had a dominant role in suppressing antitumor immunity.Therapeutically,B7-H3 blockade,but not PD-1 blockade,prolonged the survival of ID8 tumorbearing mice.Collectively,our results demonstrate that tumor-expressed B7-H3 inhibits the function of CD8^(+)T cells and suggest that B7-H3 may be a target in patients who are not responsive to PD-L1/PD-1 inhibition,particularly OvCa patients.Dongli Cai Jiaming Li Dingfeng Liu Shanjuan Hong Qin Qiao Qinli Sun Pingping Li Nanan Lyu Tiantian Sun Shan Xie Li Guo Ling Ni Liping Jin Chen Dong 2020Cellular & Molecular Immunology2020,17,3:8
3Performance evaluation of two types of heated cables for distributedtemperature sensing-based measurement of soil moisture content显示文摘Distributed temperature sensing(DTS)using heated cables has been recently developed for distributed monitoring of in-situ soil moisture content.In this method,the thermal and electrical properties of heated cables have a significant influence on the measurement accuracy of soil moisture content.In this paper,the performances of two heated cables,i.e.the carbon-fiber heated cable(CFHC)and the metalnet heated cable(MNHC),are studied in the laboratory.Their structures,uniformity in the axial direction,measurement accuracy and suitability are evaluated.The test results indicate that the MNHC has a better uniformity in the axial direction than CFHC.Both CFHC and MNHC have high measurement accuracy.The CFHC is more suitable for short-distance measurement(500 m),while the MNHC can be used for longdistance measurement(>500 m).Dingfeng Cao Bin Shi Honghu Zhu Kun Zhu Guangqing Wei Kai Gu 2016Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2016,8,2:5

6Responses of calcareous sand foundations to variations of groundwater table and applied loads显示文摘The long-term settlement of calcareous sand foundations caused by daily periodic fluctuations has become a significant geological hazard,but effective monitoring tools to capture the deformation profiles are still rarely reported.In this study,a laboratory model test and an in situ monitoring test were conducted.An optical frequency domain reflectometer(OFDR)with high spatial resolution(1 mm)and high accuracy(10-6)was used to record the soil strain responses to groundwater table and varied loads.The results indicated that the fiber-optic measurements can accurately locate the swelling and compressive zones.During the loading process,the interlock between calcareous sand particles was detected,which increased the internal friction angle of soil.The foundation deformation above the sliding surface was dominated by compression,and the soil was continuously compressed beneath the sliding surface.After 26e48 h,calcareous sand swelling occurred gradually above the water table,which was primarily dependent on capillary water.The swelling of the soil beneath the groundwater table was completed rapidly within less than 2 h.When the groundwater table and load remain constant,the compression creep behavior can be described by the Yasong-Wang model with R2¼0.993.The daily periodically varying in situ deformation of calcareous sand primarily occurs between the highest and lowest groundwater tables,i.e.4.2e6.2 m deep.The tuff interlayers with poor water absorption capacity do not swell or compress,but they produce compressive strain under the influence of deformed calcareous sand layers.Dingfeng Cao Sanjay Kumar Shukla Linqing Yang Chengchao Guo Jinghong Wu Fuming Wang 2022Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2022,14,4:2

11Purifying chylous plasma by precluding triglyceride via carboxylated polyethersulfone microfiltration membrane显示文摘Precluding the excessive lipoproteins from plasma rapidly and effectively is highly needed for biomedical detection and reducing plasma product scrap in blood donation stations.The current centrifugation procedure is high-cost and time-consuming.Herein,we fabricated an anionic microfiltration polyethersulfone(PES)membrane modified by interface swelling and implanting of acrylic acid(AA)for screening out large particle lipoprotein chylomicron(CM)and adsorbing cationic very low-density lipoproteins(VLDL).To improve the separation efficiency,a two-stage filtration through carboxylated polyethersulfone microfiltration membranes with the mean pore size of 0.45 and 0.22μm respectively were conducted.Attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared technique(ATR-FTIR),water contact angle(WCA),Zeta potential and scanning electron microscope(SEM)were employed to characterize the modified membrane.To test the effectiveness of this membrane,plasma flux and concentration variation of plasma components were examined to study the purification effectiveness.Furthermore,the hemocompatibility of modified membranes was tested to confirm its practicability on bloodcontacting materials.The carboxylated polyethersulfone microfiltration membrane shows its promising potential application to purify chylous plasma.Yang Liu Qiu Han Guiliang Li Haibo Lin Fu Liu Gang Deng Dingfeng Lv Weijie Sun 2022Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,9:1

16Analytical optimization for field emission of carbon nanotube array显示文摘To optimize field emission (FE) property of carbon nanotube (CNT) array on a planar cathode surface, the Fowler-Nordheim formula has been used to discuss the maximum of the emission current density with the floating sphere model in this paper. The emission current density is dominating as the analytical Fowler-Nordheim function of the intertube distance, and the maximum of the emission current density is deduced and discussed. The results indicate that the intertube distance in CNT array critically affects the field enhancement factor and the emission current density, whose maximum occurs at the intertube distance approximating a tenth of the tube height.
