1Therapeutic effect of electroacupuncture,massage,and blocking therapy on external humeral epicondylitis显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To compare two therapeutic methods:electroacupuncture + massage + blocking therapy,and blocking therapy alone in the treatment of external humeral epicondylitis.METHODS:Eighty-six patients were randomized into two groups with 43 in each. The treatment group received electroacupuncture + massage +blocking therapy, while the control group received blocking therapy only. A course of electroacupuncture treatment included therapy once a day for 10days. There were 10 treatments in a massage course and massage was given once a day, with a1-week interval given before the next course. A course of blocking treatment included therapy once a week, for twototaltreatments,andgenerallyno more than three times. The therapeutic effects were evaluated with the visual analog scale(VAS),grip strength index(GSI) score, and Mayo elbow performance score(MEPS) before treatment and at0, 6, 12, and 24 months after treatment to observe thetotaleffectiverate.RESULTS: In the treatment and control groups before treatment and at 0, 6, 12, and 24 months after treatment, the VAS scores were: 6.5±1.9 and 6.4±1.6; 4.6±1.3 and 4.6±1.7; 4.8±1.3 and 4.8±1.2; 4.6±1.2 and 6.6±1.6; and 6.5±1.6 and 6.5±1.3, respectively. The GSI scores were 63±8 and 63±8; 84±6and82±7;82±7and82±6;84±6and62±8;and64±6 and 64±7, respectively.The MEPS of both groups were65±7and66±8;85±6and84±7;84±5and84±7;80±7and66±6;and65±6and65±7,respectively.The total effective rates of the treatment and control groups at 0, 6, 12, and 24 months after treatment were 87.5% and 85.0%; 85.0% and 82.5%;80.0% and 12.5%; and 2.5% and 5.0%, respectively.Compared with the treatment group, the control group had greater joint function, better the rapeutic effect, and lower pain intensity(P<0.01), indicating a high recurrence rate in the 12th month after treatment.There were no differences inVAS, GSI, or MEPS at 0, 6, and 24 months after treatment(P>0.05)betweenthetwogroups.CONCLUSION: We found that both methods were effective for external humeral epicondylitis. After 6months of treatment,the effects were good in both groups. However, in the 12th month, the control group had a relatively severe relapse. After 24months, both groups relapsed. 2Prediction of blasting mean fragment size using support vector regression combined with five optimization algorithms显示文摘The main purpose of blasting operation is to produce desired and optimum mean size rock fragments.Smaller or fine fragments cause the loss of ore during loading and transportation,whereas large or coarser fragments need to be further processed,which enhances production cost.Therefore,accurate prediction of rock fragmentation is crucial in blasting operations.Mean fragment size(MFS) is a crucial index that measures the goodness of blasting designs.Over the past decades,various models have been proposed to evaluate and predict blasting fragmentation.Among these models,artificial intelligence(AI)-based models are becoming more popular due to their outstanding prediction results for multiinfluential factors.In this study,support vector regression(SVR) techniques are adopted as the basic prediction tools,and five types of optimization algorithms,i.e.grid search(GS),grey wolf optimization(GWO),particle swarm optimization(PSO),genetic algorithm(GA) and salp swarm algorithm(SSA),are implemented to improve the prediction performance and optimize the hyper-parameters.The prediction model involves 19 influential factors that constitute a comprehensive blasting MFS evaluation system based on AI techniques.Among all the models,the GWO-v-SVR-based model shows the best comprehensive performance in predicting MFS in blasting operation.Three types of mathematical indices,i.e.mean square error(MSE),coefficient of determination(R^(2)) and variance accounted for(VAF),are utilized for evaluating the performance of different prediction models.The R^(2),MSE and VAF values for the training set are 0.8355,0.00138 and 80.98,respectively,whereas 0.8353,0.00348 and 82.41,respectively for the testing set.Finally,sensitivity analysis is performed to understand the influence of input parameters on MFS.It shows that the most sensitive factor in blasting MFS is the uniaxial compressive strength.Enming Li Fenghao Yang Meiheng Ren Xiliang Zhang Jian Zhou Manoj Khandelwal 2021Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2021,13,6:3

10Widely Untargeted Metabolome Profiling Provides Insight into Browning and Nutritional Quality Changes in Short-Term Stored Fresh-Cut Potato(Solanum tuberosum L.)Shreds显示文摘Potato(Solanum tuberosum L.)is susceptible to enzymatic browning after fresh processing,resulting in color change and potential alteration in the nutritional quality.In this study,a popular potato cultivar,Feiwuruita,was used to profile the metabolites involved in color and nutritional quality changes in fresh shreds stored at 0 and 4 h at 25°C(designated CK and CK4H,respectively).The shreds turned brown within 4 h of storage.In all,723 metabolites consisting 12 classes of compounds were detected in the samples,largely lipids,phenolic acids,alkaloids,amino acids and derivatives,flavonoids,organic acids,nucleotides and derivatives.Of these,163 metabolites accumulated differentially between CK and CK4H shreds.Polyphenolic compounds(phenolic acids and flavonoids)mostly increased in the shreds after 4 h storage.Conversely,the short-term storage drastically reduced lipid compounds(25 LysoPC and 19 LysoPE),while essential alkaloids and terpenoid compounds that are beneficial to human health increased in accumulation.The findings present global metabolome and nutritional composition changes in short-term stored shreds of Feiwuruita.This study provides important foundation for future studies on browning prevention/reduction and for better utilization of Feiwuruita.Liping Hong Enming He Wenhui Zhang Mingqiong Zheng Jingwen Wu Wenhua Wang 2023Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2023,92,10:0
11Compressive strength prediction and optimization design of sustainable concrete based on squirrel search algorithm-extreme gradient boosting technique显示文摘Concrete is the most commonly used construction material.However,its production leads to high carbon dioxide(CO_(2))emissions and energy consumption.Therefore,developing waste-substitutable concrete components is necessary.Improving the sustainability and greenness of concrete is the focus of this research.In this regard,899 data points were collected from existing studies where cement,slag,fly ash,superplasticizer,coarse aggregate,and fine aggregate were considered potential influential factors.The complex relationship between influential factors and concrete compressive strength makes the prediction and estimation of compressive strength difficult.Instead of the traditional compressive strength test,this study combines five novel metaheuristic algorithms with extreme gradient boosting(XGB)to predict the compressive strength of green concrete based on fly ash and blast furnace slag.The intelligent prediction models were assessed using the root mean square error(RMSE),coefficient of determination(R^(2)),mean absolute error(MAE),and variance accounted for(VAF).The results indicated that the squirrel search algorithm-extreme gradient boosting(SSA-XGB)yielded the best overall prediction performance with R^(2) values of 0.9930 and 0.9576,VAF values of 99.30 and 95.79,MAE values of 0.52 and 2.50,RMSE of 1.34 and 3.31 for the training and testing sets,respectively.The remaining five prediction methods yield promising results.Therefore,the developed hybrid XGB model can be introduced as an accurate and fast technique for the performance prediction of green concrete.Finally,the developed SSA-XGB considered the effects of all the input factors on the compressive strength.The ability of the model to predict the performance of concrete with unknown proportions can play a significant role in accelerating the development and application of sustainable concrete and furthering a sustainable economy.Enming LI Ning ZHANG Bin XI Jian ZHOU Xiaofeng GAO 2023Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2023,17,9:0
12Local solids flow structure in a countercurrent liquid-upward and solids-downward fluidized bed(CCLSFB)system显示文摘The local solids holdup and local particle velocity in a Countercurrent Liquid-upward and Solids-downward Fluidized Bed(CCLSFB)were investigated in details using optical fiber probes with two different models in a Plexiglas column of 1.5 m in height and 7.0 cm in inner diameter.A new flow regime map including fluidized bed,transition,and flooding regimes was established.The axial solids holdup distribution is almost uniform at low liquid velocity and/or solids flowrate and becomes less uniform with higher solids holdup at the top of the column after the operating liquid velocity is reaching the flooding velocity.The radial solids holdup profile is also nearly flat with a slightly lower solids holdup in the near-wall region at low liquid velocity and solids flowrate but becomes nonuniform as the operating liquid velocity approaches the flooding velocity.Two equations were also proposed to correlate radial local solids holdups.The descending particle velocity in CCLSFB increases with the decrease of the liquid velocity and the increase of the solids flowrate.A generally uniform particle velocity distribution was found in the axial direction,as well as in the radial direction except for a small decrease near the wall.These results on the local solids flow structure would provide basic information and theoretical supports for the design and industrial application of CCLSFB.Enming Zhang Keying Ma Yuanyuan Shao Jesse Zhu 2023Particuology2023,,5:0
13Characterization of countercurrent liquid-upward and solid-downward fluidized system显示文摘Acting as an operating mode of fluidization,the flow characteristics of a countercurrent liquid–solid fluidized bed(CCLSFB)were experimentally investigated using a Plexiglas column of 1.5 m in height.Countercurrent liquid-upward and solid-downward fluidization was achieved under a limited solid flowrate before flooding occurred.The“flooding”phenomena and the flooding velocity were identified by measuring the variations in pressure drop in the axial direction of the column.Two different methods were used to quantify the flooding point that led to the instability of the system.Axial solids holdup profiles were also obtained from the pressure drop data along the column and the influences of device structure and operating conditions on the solids holdup were also studied.Seven types of particles with different diameters and densities were used.An agreement was found between the experimental results and the mathematic prediction derived from the Richardson–Zaki equation on the data of the solids holdup.Enming Zhang Keying Ma Yuanyuan Shao Jesse Zhu Tian Nan 2022Particuology2022,,11:0
