2Collagen scaffolds modified with collagen-binding bFGF promotes the neural regeneration in a rat hemisected spinal cord injury model显示文摘Nerve conduit is one of strategies for spine cord injury(SCI)treatment.Recently,studies showed that biomaterials could guide the neurite growth and promote axon regeneration at the injury site.However,the scaffold by itself was difficult to meet the need of SCI functional recovery.The basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF)administration significantly promotes functional recovery after organ injuries.Here,using a rat model of T9 hemisected SCI,we aimed at assessing the repair capacity of implantation of collagen scaffold(CS)modified by collagen binding bFGF(CBD-bFGF).The results showed that CS combined with CBD-bFGF treatment improved survival rates after the lateral hemisection SCI.The CS/CBD-bFGF group showed more significant improvements in motor than the simply CS-implanted and untreated control group,when evaluated by the 21-point Basso-Beattie-Bresnahan(BBB)score and footprint analysis.Both hematoxylin and eosin(H&E)and immunohistochemical staining of neurofilament(NF)and glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP)demonstrated that fibers were guided to grow through the implants.These findings indicated that administration of CS modified with CBD-bFGF could promote spinal cord regeneration and functional recovery.SHI Qin GAO Wei HAN XingLong ZHU XueSong SUN Jie XIE Fang HOU XiangLin YANG HuiLin DAI JianWu CHEN Liang 2014Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,2:23
3Blockade of Tim-3 Pathway Ameliorates Interferon-γ Production from Hepatic CD8^+ T Cells in a Mouse Model of Hepatitis B Virus Infection显示文摘T cell immunoglobulin-and mucin-domain-containing molecule-3(Tim-3) has been reported to participate in the pathogenesis of inflammatory diseases. However,whether Tim-3 is involved in hepatitis B virus(HBV) infection remains unknown. Here,we studied the expression and function of Tim-3 in a hydrodynamics-based mouse model of HBV infection. A significant increase of Tim-3 expression on hepatic T lymphocytes,especially on CD8+ T cells,was demonstrated in HBV model mice from day 7 to day 18. After Tim-3 knockdown by specific shRNAs,significantly increased IFN-γ production from hepatic CD8+ T cells in HBV model mice was observed. Very interestingly,we found Tim-3 expression on CD8+ T cells was higher in HBV model mice with higher serum anti-HBs production. Moreover,Tim-3 knockdown influenced anti-HBs production in vivo. 4Applications of HPLC/MS in the analysis of traditional Chinese medicines显示文摘In China,traditional Chinese medicines(TCMs)have been used in clinical applications for thousands of years.The successful hyphenation of high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)and mass spectrometry(MS)has been applied widely in TCMs and biological samples analysis.Undoubtedly,HPLC/MS technique has facilitated the understanding of the treatment mechanism of TCMs.We reviewed more than 350 published papers within the last 5 years on HPLC/MS in the analysis of TCMs.The present review focused on the applications of HPLC/MS in the component analysis,metabolites analysis,and pharmacokinetics of TCMs etc.50% of the literature is related to the component analysis of TCMs,which show that this field is the most popular type of research.In the metabolites analysis,HPLC coupled with electrospray ionization quadrupole time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometry has been demonstrated to be the powerful tool for the characterization of structural features and fragmentation behavior patterns.This paper presented a brief overview of the applications of HPLC/MS in the analysis of TCMs.HPLC/MS in the fingerprint analysis is reviewed elsewhere.Miao Li Xiao- Fang Hou Jie Zhang Si-Cen Wang Qiang Fu Lang- Chong He 2011Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2011,1,2:17

7Liver Enzymes Concentrations Are Closely Related to Pre-diabetes:Findings of the Shanghai Diabetes Study Ⅱ (SHDS Ⅱ)显示文摘Objective To investigate the relationship of liver enzymes with hyperglycemia in a large population in Shanghai and identify the association between liver enzymes and insulin resistance.Methods A total of 3 756 participants were enrolled.Each participant underwent an oral glucose tolerance test and completed a questionnaire.Anthropometric indices were recorded and serum samples were collected for measurement.Results Liver enzymes concentrations were independently associated with i-IGT,IFG+IGT,and diabetes.With the increase of ALT and GGT concentrations,ORs for i-IGT,IFG+IGT,and diabetes increased gradually.By comparing patients in the highest quartile of GGT concentrations or ALT concentrations with those in the lowest quartile (Q1),ORs for i-IGT,IFG+IGT,or diabetes was significant after adjustment.Both ALT and GGT concentrations were linearly correlated with HOMA-IR and independently associated with HOMA-IR [ALT OR (95% CI):2.56 (1.51-4.34) P=0.00;GGT OR (95% CI):2.66 (1.53-4.65) P=0.00].Conclusion Serum ALT and GGT concentrations were closely related to pre-diabetes and diabetes in the Shanghai population and positively associated with insulin resistance.GAO Fei PAN Jie Min HOU Xu Hong FANG Qi Chen LU Hui Juan TANG Jun Ling GU Hui Lin PAN Zhi Jian YAO You Hua SHEN Wei Zhen JIA Wei Ping 2012Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,1:15

9Predictors and reduction techniques for irreducible reverse intertrochanteric fractures显示文摘Background:Reverse intertrochanteric fractures are usually initially treated with closed reduction.However,sometimes these fractures are not amenable to closed reduction and require open reduction.To date,few studies have been conducted on predictors of and reduction techniques for irreducible reverse intertrochanteric fractures.Therefore,this study aimed to summarize the displacement patterns of irreducible reverse intertrochanteric fractures and corresponding reduction techniques,and explore predictors of irreducibility.Methods:We reviewed 1174 cases of trochanteric fractures treated in our hospital from January 2006 to October 2018,113 of which were reverse intertrochanteric fractures.An irreducible fracture was determined according to intra-operative fluoroscopy imaging after closed manipulation.Fractures were assessed for displacement patterns,radiographic features of irreducibility,and reduction techniques.Logistic regression analysis was performed on potential predictors for irreducibility,including gender,age,body mass index,AO Foundation/Orthopaedic Trauma Association(AO/OTA)classification,and radiographic features.Results:Seventy-six irreducible fractures were identified,accounting for 67%of reverse intertrochanteric fractures.Six patterns of fracture displacement after closed manipulation were identified;the most common pattern was medial displacement and posterior sagging of the femoral shaft relative to the head-neck fragment.Multivariate logistic regression analysis identified three predictors of irreducibility:a medially displaced femoral shaft relative to the head-neck fragment on the anteroposterior(AP)view(odds ratio[OR],8.00;95%confidence interval[CI],3.04–21.04;P<0.001),a displaced lesser trochanter(OR,3.61;95%CI,1.35–9.61;P=0.010),and a displaced lateral femoral wall(OR,2.92;95%CI,1.02–8.34;P=0.046).Conclusions:A high proportion of reverse intertrochanteric fractures are not amenable to closed reduction.Six patterns of fracture displacement after closed manipulation were identified.Different reduction techniques are required for different displacement patterns.Predictors of irreducibility include a medially displaced femoral shaft relative to the head-neck fragment on the AP view,a displaced lesser trochanter,and a displaced lateral femoral wall.These patients warrant special consideration in terms of recognition and management.You-Liang Hao Zhi-Shan Zhang Fang Zhou Hong-Quan Ji Yun Tian Yan Guo Yang Lyu Zhong-Wei Yang Guo-Jin Hou 2019Chinese Medical Journal2019,,21:11

11Ursolic acid reduces hepatocellular apoptosis and alleviates alcohol-induced liver injury via irreversible inhibition of CASP3 in vivo显示文摘Alcoholic liver disease (ALD) is one of the pathogenic factors of chronic liver disease with the highest clinical morbidity worldwide. Ursolic acid (UA), a pentacyclic terpenoid carboxylic acid, has shown many health benefits including antioxidative, anti- inflammatory, anticancer, and hepatoprotective activities. We previously found that UA was metabolized in vivo into epoxy- modified UA containing an epoxy electrophilic group and had the potential to react with nucleophilic groups. In this study we prepared an alkynyl-modified UA (AM-UA) probe for tracing and capturing the target protein of UA from liver in mice, then investigated the mode by which UA bound to its target in vivo. By conducting proteome identification and bioinformatics analysis, we identified caspase-3 (CASP3) as the primary target protein of UA associated with liver protection. Molecule docking analysis showed that the epoxy group of the UA metabolite reacted with Cys-163 of CASP3, forming a covalent bond with CASP3. The binding mode of the UA metabolites (UA, CM-UA, and EM-UA) was verified by biochemical evaluation, demonstrating that the epoxy group produced by metabolism played an important role in the inhibition of CASP3. In alcohol-treated HepG2 cells, pretreatment with the UA metabolite (10 μM) irreversibly inhibited CASP3 activities, and subsequently decreased the cleavage of PARP and cell apoptosis. Finally, pre-administration of UA (20–80 mg· kg−1 per day, ig, for 1 week) dose-dependently alleviated alcohol-induced liver injury in mice mainly via the inhibition of CASP3. 12Major advances in studies of the physical geography and living environment of China during the past 70 years and future prospects显示文摘The natural environment provides material essentials for human survival and development. The characteristics,processes, regional differentiation and forcing mechanisms of the elements of the natural environment(e.g. geomorphology,climate, hydrology, soil, etc.) are the main objects of research in physical geography. China has a complex natural environment and huge regional differentiation and therefore it provides outstanding reserach opportunities in physical geography. This review summarizes the most important developments and the main contributions of research in the physical geography and human living environment in China during the past 70 years. The major topics addressed are the uplift of the Tibetan Plateau and the evolution of its cryosphere, the development of fluvial systems, the acidification of the vast arid region of the Asian interior, variations in the monsoon and westerly climate systems on multiple timescales, the development of lakes and wetlands, the watershed system model, soil erosion, past human-environment interactions, biogeography, and physical geographic zonality. After briefly introducing international research developments, we review the history of research in physical geography in China, focusing on the major achievements and major academic debates, and finally we summarize the status of current research and the future prospects. 15Biodegradation,hemocompatibility and covalent bonding mechanism of electrografting polyethylacrylate coating on Mg alloy for cardiovascular stent显示文摘Organic coatings are the most widely employed approach for the promotion of corrosion resistance of magnesium(Mg)alloys.Unfortunately,traditional organic coatings are weakly bonded to Mg substrates due to physical adsorption.Herein,a polyethylacrylate(PEA)coating was fabricated on Mg-Zn-YNd alloy via electro-grafting.The surface structure and chemical composition were characterized by means of scanning electron microscope(SEM),energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS),atomic force microscope(AFM)and Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)as well as time of flight-secondary ion mass spectrometer(To F-SIMS).The results showed that the surface roughness of PEA coating was dominated by scan rate;while the coverage and integrity of PEA coating were mainly affected by the monomer concentration and sweep circles.To F-SIMS results indicated that PEA coating was wholly covered on Mg alloy,and the presence of C2H3Mg-fragment confirmed the covalent bond between PEA coating and Mg alloy.In addition,DFT calculation results of the adsorption of EA molecules with Mg substrate agree well with the experimental phenomena and observation,suggesting that the electrons in 3s orbit of Mg atoms and 2pz orbit of C1 atom participated in the formation of covalent bond between PEA coating and Mg substrate.Potentiodynamic polarization curves and immersion test demonstrated that the PEA coatings could effectively enhance the corrosion resistance of Mg alloy.The platelet adhesion results designated that platelets were barely visible on PEA coating,which implied that PEA coating could effectively prevent the thrombosis and coagulation of platelets.PEA coating might be a promising candidate coating of Mg alloy for cardiovascular stent.Yong-Xin Yang Zhe Fang Yi-Hao Liu Ya-Chen Hou Li-Guo Wang Yi-Fan Zhou Shi-Jie Zhu Rong-Chang Zeng Yu-Feng Zheng Shao-Kang Guan 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,42,11:9
16Gastrointestinal symptoms and associated factors in Chinese patients with functional dyspepsia显示文摘AIM:To study the evolution of gastrointestinal symptoms and associated factors in Chinese patients with functional dyspepsia(FD).METHODS:From June 2008 to November 2009,a total of 1049 patients with FD(65.3%female,mean age42.80±11.64 years)who visited the departments of gastroenterology in Wuhan,Beijing,Shanghai,Guangzhou,and Xi’an,China were referred for this study.All of the patients fulfilled the RomeⅢcriteria for FD.Baseline demographic data,dyspepsia symptoms,anxiety,depression,sleep disorder,and drug treatment were assessed using self-report questionnaires.Patients completed questionnaires at baseline and after1,3,6 and 12 mo follow-up.Comparison of dyspepsia symptoms between baseline and after follow-up was explored using multivariate analysis of variance of repeated measuring.Multiple linear regression was done to examine factors associated with outcome,both longitudinally and horizontally.RESULTS:Nine hundred and forty-three patients(89.9%of the original population)completed all four follow-ups.The average duration of follow-up was12.24±0.59 mo.During 1-year follow-up,the mean dyspeptic symptom score(DSS)in FD patients showed a significant gradually reduced trend(P<0.001),and similar differences were found for all individual symptoms(P<0.001).Multiple linear regression analysis showed that sex(P<0.001),anxiety(P=0.018),sleep disorder at 1-year follow-up(P=0.019),weight loss(P<0.001),consulting a physician(P<0.001),and prokinetic use during 1-year follow-up(P=0.035)were horizontally associated with DSS at 1-year followup.No relationship was found longitudinally between DSS at 1-year follow-up and patient characteristics at baseline.CONCLUSION:Female sex,anxiety,and sleep disorder,weight loss,consulting a physician and prokinetic use during 1-year follow-up were associated with outcome of FD.Jiao Yu Shi Liu Xiu-Cai Fang Jun Zhang Jun Gao Ying-Lian Xiao Li-Ming Zhu Fen-Rong Chen Zhao-Shen Li Pin-Jin Hu Mei-Yun Ke Xiao-Hua Hou 2013World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,32:9
17Exploring the driving factors and their mitigation potential in global energy-related CO2 emission显示文摘In order to quantify the contribution of the mitigation strategies,an extended Kaya identity has been proposed in this paper for decomposing the various factors that influence the CO2 emission.To this end,we provided a detailed decomposition of the carbon intensity and energy intensity,which enables the quantification of clean energy development and electrification.The logarithmic mean divisia index(LMDI)has been applied to the historical data to quantify the contributions of the various factors affecting the CO2 emissions.Further,the global energy interconnection(GEI)scenario has been introduced for providing a systematic solution to meet the 2℃goal of the Paris Agreement.By combining LMDI with the scenario analysis,the mitigation potential of the various factors for CO2 emission has been analyzed.Results from the historical data indicate that economic development and population growth contribute the most to the increase in CO2 emissions,whereas improvement in the power generation efficiency predominantly helps in emission reduction.A numerical analysis,performed for obtaining the projected future carbon emissions,suggests that clean energy development and electrification are the top two factors that can decrease CO2 emissions,thus showing their great potential for mitigation in the future.Moreover,the carbon capture and storage technology serves as an important supplementary mitigation method.Zhiyuan Ma Shining Zhang Fangxin Hou Xin Tan Fengying Zhang Fang Yang Fei Guo 2020Global Energy Interconnection2020,3,5:9
18Special AT-rich sequence-binding protein 1 promotes cell growth and metastasis in colorectal cancer显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the expression of special AT-rich sequence-binding protein 1 (SATB1 ) gene in colorectal cancer and its role in colorectal cancer cell proliferation and invasion.METHODS: Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the protein expression of SATB1 in 30 colorectal cancer (CRC) tissue samples and pair-matched adjacent nontumor samples. Cell growth was investigated after enhancing expression of SATB1. Wound-healing assay and Transwell assay were used to investigate the impact of SATB1 on migratory and invasive abilities of SW480 cells in vitro . Nude mice that received subcutaneous implantation or lateral tail vein were used to study the effects of SATB1 on tumor growth or metastasis in vivo . RESULTS: SATB1 was over-expressed in CRC tissues and CRC cell lines. SATB1 promotes cell proliferation and cell cycle progression in CRC SW480 cells. SATB1 over-expression could promote cell growth in vivo . In addition, SATB1 could significantly raise the ability of cell migration and invasion in vitro and promote the ability of tumor metastasis in vivo . SATB1 could up-regulate matrix metalloproteases 2, 9, cyclin D1 and vimentin, meanwhile SATB1 could down-regulate E-cadherin in CRC. CONCLUSION: SATB1 acts as a potential growth and metastasis promoter in CRC. 19Preparation of nano-TiO_2/diatomite-based porous ceramics and their photocatalytic kinetics for formaldehyde degradation显示文摘Diatomite-based porous ceramics were adopted as carriers to immobilize nano-TiO_2 via a hydrolysis-deposition technique. The thermal degradation of as-prepared composites was investigated using thermogravimetric–differential thermal analysis, and the phase and microstructure were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and transmission electron microscopy. The results indicated that the carriers were encapsulated by nano-TiO_2 with a thickness of 300–450 nm. The main crystalline phase of TiO_2 calcined at 650℃ was anatase, and the average grain size was 8.3 nm. The FT-IR absorption bands at 955.38 cm^(-1) suggested that new chemical bonds among Ti, O, and Si had formed in the composites. The photocatalytic(PC) activity of the composites was investigated under UV irradiation. Furthermore, the photodegradation kinetics of formaldehyde was investigated using the composites as the cores of an air cleaner. 20Atomic structures of Zr-based metallic glasses显示文摘The atomic structures of Zr-Ni and Zr-Ti-Al-Cu-Ni metallic glasses were investigated by using classical molecular dynamic (MD),reverse Monte Carlo (RMC),ab initio MD (AIMD) simulations and high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) techniques. We focused on the short-range order (SRO) and medium-range order (MRO) in the glassy structure. It is shown that there are icosahedral,FCC-and BCC-type SROs in the Zr-based metallic glasses. A structural model,characterized by imperfect ordered packing (IOP),was proposed based on the MD simulation and confirmed by the HRTEM observation. Furthermore,the evolution from IOP to nanocrystal during the crystallization of metallic glasses was also ex-plored. It is found that the growth from IOP to nanocrystal proceeds through three distinct stages: the formation of quasi-ordered structure with one-dimensional (1D) periodicity,then 2D periodicity,and finally the formation of 3D nanocrystals.
