1Mechanism-based anti-anxiety effects of polysaccharides extracted from Shudihuang (Radix Rehmanniae Preparata) by two-dimensional electrophoresis analysis in rat hippocampus proteins显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate mechanism-based anti-anxiety effects of Shudihuang (Radix Rehmanniae Preparata) polysaccharides (RRPPs) through two-dimensional electrophoresis (2-DE) analysis with mass spectrometry (MS) of hippocampus proteins in rats treated with monosodium L-glutamate (MSG).METHODS: MSG (4 g/kg) or normal saline (NS) was injected subcutaneously into infant male rats on days 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 after birth. MSG-treated rats at 8 weeks old were given NS, diazepam, or RRPPs daily for seven consecutive days by intragastric administration, while NS-treated rats given the same volume of NS. Elevated plus maze (EPM) and light/ dark transition (LDT) tests were used to observe anti-anxiety effects of RRPPs at 1 h after the last administration. After EPM and LDT tests, hippocampus tissues were excised on ice rapidly from the brains of rats. Thereafter, 2-DE and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF/MS) were used for detecting differential proteins in hippocampus of rats so as to explore the potential mechanisms. RESULTS: RRPPs (200, 400 mg/kg) could significantly inhibit MSG-induced decrease of time and entries percentages in open zones in EPM test and numbers of light-dark transition in LDT test. Further analysis of 2-DE and MALDI-TOF/MS indicated that β-synuclein, protein DJ-1, peroxiredoxin-2, peroxiredoxin-6, dimethylarginine dimethylaminohydrolase 1 (DDAH-1) and iron-sulfur proteins were all found to be down-regulated significantly in MSG-treated rats, while such down-regulation was significantly inhibited after treatment with RRPPs. 2Profiling of seed fatty acid composition in 1025 Chinese soybean accessions from diverse ecoregions显示文摘The stability of soybean(Glycine max L.Merrill)oil is determined mainly by its fatty acid(FA)composition.We evaluated the FA composition of 1025 Chinese soybean accessions collected from diverse ecoregions and grown in multiple locations and years.We observed highly significant differences(P<0.001)between accessions in palmitic acid(PA),stearic acid(SA),oleic acid(OA),linoleic acid(LA),and linolenic acid(LNA)contents.Growth year affected(P<0.001)the abundance of all FAs except PA.The mean PA,SA,OA,LA,and LNA contents were 12.2%,3.8%,21.5%,54.2%,and 8.3%,respectively.The geographical origin of the accession influenced seed FA composition,indicating that accessions originating in each ecoregion tend to have distinct FA composition.We observed significant positive correlations among the three locations and between the two years,suggesting the high heritability and stability of individual accessions across contrasting environments.We also observed a relatively high negative correlation between the contents of OA and both LA and LNA(r=-0.90 and-0.59,respectively,each significant at P<0.001),providing a potential entry point for developing strains producing oil with higher OA and lower LA and LNA levels.These would be appropriate for specialized use in the food industry.Our results will be useful in breeding soybean with improved quality to meet human nutritional and industrial needs.Ahmed M.Abdelghany Shengrui Zhang Muhammad Azam Abdulwahab S.Shaibu Yue Feng Yanfei Li Yu Tian Huilong Hong Bin Li Junming Sun 2020The Crop Journal2020,8,4:4
3Enhanced damping capacity of ferromagnetic Fe-Ga alloys by introducing structural defects显示文摘The irreversible motion of magnetic domain walls in ferromagnets can dissipate a large portion of the elastic energy,and the associated damping capacity is proportional to the magnetostriction constant.In contrast,here we found that the damping capacity of the large magnetostriction Fe-Ga alloys can be enhanced by 2-3 times through introducing structural defects including interfacial dislocations and stacking faults,despite that these defects deteriorate the magnetostriction.These structural defects were introduced by aging the BCC(body-centered-cubic)solution-treated precursor,for which the formation of mechanically harder FCT(face-centered-tetragonal)and/or FCC(face-centered-cubic)phases can result in high-density partial dislocations at the semi-coherent phase interfaces and quasi-periodically stacked nano-layer substructure inside the FCC variants.The structural defects act as extra damping sources besides the magnetic domain walls because the structural accommodation of the semi-coherent phase interfaces between BCC and FCT/FCC nanoprecipitates with different elastic moduli and the nano-layer substructure towards long-range ordered periodical stacking can dissipate a large portion of mechanical energy.These findings suggest that introducing structural defects provides fresh freedom to design high damping ferromagnetic materials.Ruihua Qiao Junming Gou Tianzi Yang Yiqun Zhang Feng Liu Shanshan Hu Tianyu Ma 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,25:3
4BmCH25H,a vertebrate interferon-stimulated gene(ISG)homolog,inhibits BmNPV infection dependent on its hydroxylase activity in Bombyx mori显示文摘Cholesterol-25-hydroxylase(CH25H)has been identified as an interferon-stimulated gene(ISG)in mammals that exerts its antiviral effects by catalyzing the conversion of cholesterol to 25-hydroxycholesterol(25HC).However,invertebrates lack an antiviral system homologous to vertebrate interferons(IFNs)because the genomes of invertebrates do not encode IFN-like cytokines.Nevertheless,CH25H is present in insect genomes and it therefore deserves further study of whether and by which mechanism it could exert an antiviral effect in invertebrates.In this study,the Bombyx mori CH25H(BmCH25H)gene,of which the encoded protein has high homology with other lepidopteran species,was identified and located on chromosome 9.Interestingly,we found that the expression of BmCH25H was significantly upregulated in B.mori nucleopolyhedrovirus(BmNPV)-infected BmN cells and silkworm(B.mori)larvae at the early infection stage.The inhibitory effect of BmCH25H on BmNPV replication was further demonstrated to depend on its catalytic residues to convert cholesterol to 25HC.More importantly,we demonstrated that during BmNPV infection,BmCH25H expression was increased through the Janus kinase–signal transducer and activator of transcription(JAK–STAT)pathway,similar to the induction of ISGs following virus infection in vertebrates.This is the first report that CH25H has antiviral effects in insects;the study also elucidates the regulation of its expression and its mechanism of action.Hongyun Wu Junming Xia Shigang Fei Yeyuan Wang Mengmeng Zhang Yiyao Guo Xian Li Luc Swevers Jingchen Sun Min Feng 2023Insect Science2023,30,2:2
5Yizhi Xingnao prescription improves the cognitive function of patients after a transient ischemic attack显示文摘Patients with mild cognitive impairment after a transient ischemic attack were included in this study. They were treated with Yizhi Xingnao prescription, ergoloid mesylates or aspirin for 60 days. Evaluation using the Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale showed that cognitive function was significantly improved in all patients, especially after the combined treatment of Yizhi Xingnao and aspirin. The scores from the Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale were improved overall and the effective treatment rate was as high as 79%, which was higher than patients treated with a combination of ergoloid mesylates and aspirin, or aspirin alone. 6Analog study of near-field focusing and subwavelength imaging with nonlinear transmission-line metamaterial显示文摘In this paper,we report an analog study of realizing near-field focusing and near-perfect imaging at harmonic frequencies using a two-dimensional(2D)left-handed nonlinear transmission line(LH NLTL)metamaterial.Firstly,we give a detailed procedure of designing LH NLTL and right-handed(RH)transmission line media that match with each other at harmonics.Then,through microwave circuit simulations,we observe strong surface waves at the boundaries between RH and LH NLTL metamaterials,which are consistent with the theoretical analysis of an LH linear superlens.Finally,we show that the LH NLTL metamaterial can act as a flat nonlinear lens that can create,with a subwavelength resolution,an image of harmonic fields of the source which is opaque at the fundamental frequency.WANG ZhengBin FENG YiJun ZHAO JunMing JIANG Tian 2013Science China(Information Sciences)2013,56,12:2

9Dual-functional marigold-like Zn_(x)Cd_(1-x)S homojunction for selective glucose photoreforming with remarkable H_(2)coproduction显示文摘The global commitment to pivoting to sustainable energy and products calls for technology development to utilize solar energy for hydrogen(H_(2))and value-added chemicals production by biomass photoreforming.Herein,a novel dual-functional marigold-like Zn_(x)Cd_(1-x)S homojunction has been the production of lactic acid with high-yield and H_(2)with high-efficiency by selective glucose photoreforming.The optimized Zn_(0.3)Cd_(0.7)S exhibits outstanding H_(2)generation(13.64 mmol h^(-1)g^(-1)),glucose conversion(96.40%),and lactic acid yield(76.80%),over 272.80 and 19.21 times higher than that of bare ZnS(0.05 mmol h^(-1)g^(-1))and CdS(0.71 mmol h^(-1)g^(-1))in H_(2)generation,respectively.The marigold-like morphology provides abundant active sites and sufficient substrates accessibility for the photocatalyst,while the specific role of the homojunction formed by hexagonal wurtzite(WZ)and cubic zinc blende(ZB)in photoreforming biomass has been demonstrated by density functional theory(DFT)calculations.Glucose is converted to lactic acid on the WZ surface of Zn_(0.3)Cd_(0.7)S via the photoactive species·O_(2)^(-),while the H_(2)is evolved from protons(H^(+))in H_(2)O on the ZB surface of Zn_(0.3)Cd_(0.7)S.This work paves a promising road for the production of sustainable energy and products by integrating photocatalysis and biorefine.Fuyan Kang Cai Shi Yeling Zhu Malin Eqi Junming Shi Min Teng Zhanhua Huang Chuanling Si Feng Jiang Jinguang Hu 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,4:1

13OBV(obscure vein),a C_(2)H_(2)zinc finger transcription factor,positively regulates chloroplast development and bundle sheath extension formation in tomato(Solanum lycopersicum)leaf veins显示文摘Leaf veins play an important role in plant growth and development,and the bundle sheath(BS)is believed to greatly improve the photosynthetic efficiency of C_(4) plants.The OBV mutation in tomato(Solanum lycopersicum)results in dark veins and has been used widely in processing tomato varieties.However,physiological performance has difficulty explaining fitness in production.In this study,we confirmed that this mutation was caused by both the increased chlorophyll content and the absence of bundle sheath extension(BSE)in the veins.Using genome-wide association analysis and map-based cloning,we revealed that OBV encoded a C_(2)H_(2) L domain class transcription factor.It was localized in the nucleus and presented cell type-specific gene expression in the leaf veins.Furthermore,we verified the gene function by generating CRISPR/Cas9 knockout and overexpression mutants of the tomato gene.RNA sequencing analysis revealed that OBV was involved in regulating chloroplast development and photosynthesis,which greatly supported the change in chlorophyll content by mutation.Taken together,these findings demonstrated that OBV affected the growth and development of tomato by regulating chloroplast development in leaf veins.This study also provides a solid foundation to further decipher the mechanism of BSEs and to understand the evolution of photosynthesis in land plants.Jinghua Lu Chunyang Pan Xin Li Zejun Huang Jinshuai Shu Xiaoxuan Wang Xiaoxiao Lu Feng Pan Junling Hu Hui Zhang Wenyue Su Min Zhang Yongchen Du Lei Liu Yanmei Guo Junming Li 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:1

16Effects of vitamin C deficiency or excess on growth performance, anti-oxidative response and fatty acid composition of juvenile abalone Haliotis discus hannai Ino显示文摘A 240-day feeding trial was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary vitamin C on growth performance,anti-oxidative response,and fatty acid composition of juvenile abalone Haliotis discus hannai Ino(initial body weight:0.93±0.00 g).Three semi-purified experimental diets were formulated containing 0.00,94.52,and 9649.58 mg/kg of vitamin C supplied as L-ascorbyl-2-monophosphate.The results show that there was no significant difference in weight gain ratio,daily increment in shell length,and survival rate among the three treatments.Adding dietary vitamin C(9649.58 mg/kg)significantly increased the activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD),glutathine peroxidase(GPX),glitathione-S-transferase(GST),glutathione reductase(GR),alkaline phosphatase(AKP),and lysozyme in viscera(P<0.05).In muscle,activities of phenoloxidase,catalase,SOD,GST,GR,and AKP were increased in the treatment with 9649.58 mg/kg of dietary vitamin C(P<0.05).The highest concentrations of ascorbic acid in viscera and muscle were found in the group with 9649.58 mg/kg of dietary vitamin C(P<0.05).The contents of crude protein and crude lipid in the soft body were significantly increased in the 9649.58 mg/kg group(P<0.05).Dietary vitamin C supplementation significantly decreased the contents of saturated fatty acids(14:0,16:0,and 18:0),and increased the composition of 18:2n-6 and 22:6n-3 in the soft body of abalone(P<0.05).Therefore,although there were no significant effects on the growth performance,dietary vitamin C supplementation improved the anti-oxidation and immune responses,increased specific unsaturated fatty acid(i.e.,16:1,18:1n-7,18:1n-9,18:2n-6 and 22:6n-3),and decreased specific saturated fatty acid(i.e.,14:0,16:0 and 18:0)contents in the soft body of abalone.LI Xinxin FENG Xiuni LUO Kai MA Shuoli DENG Junming ZHANG Wenbing MAI Kangsen 2020Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,6:0

18Profiling seed soluble sugar compositions in 1164 Chinese soybean accessions from major growing ecoregions显示文摘Soluble sugar is a key quality trait of soybean seeds.We developed rapid and economic extraction and quantification methods for seed soluble sugars using an ultra-high performance liquid chromatography system with a refractive index detector.We evaluated the soluble sugar compositions of 1164 soybean accessions collected from diverse ecoregions and grown in multiple locations and years.Total soluble sugar(TSS)content was influenced by accession type,year of cultivation,and ecoregion.The mean contents of fructose,glucose,sucrose,raffinose,stachyose and TSS were 3.31,5.21,55.60,6.60,35.47,and 106.19 mg g^(-1),respectively.The highest mean TSS content(108.71 mg g^(-1)) was observed in accessions from Northern Region of China.Cultivars contained higher contents of sucrose,raffinose,and TSS,whereas landraces had a higher content of stachyose.Fourteen accessions with mean TSS contents>130 mg g^(-1) were identified as elite soybean resources.TSS was correlated with sucrose,raffinose,stachyose,protein,oil and total tocopherol.The main soluble sugar components were correlated with latitude and longitude,indicating that the geographical origin of the accessions affected their seed soluble sugar compositions.The developed methods and elite identified accessions can be used in the food and feed industry and in soybean breeding programs aimed at improving soybean seed nutrition.Jie Qi Shengrui Zhang Muhammad AzamAbdul wahab S.Shaibu Ahmed M.Abdelghany Yue Feng Yuanyuan HuaiHuoyi Feng Yitian Liu Caiyou Ma Berhane S.Gebregziabher Suprio Ghosh Jing Li Deyue Yu Bin Li Lijuan Qiu Junming Sun 2022The Crop Journal2022,10,6:0

20An electromechanically reconfigurable intelligent surface for enhancing sub-6G wireless communication signal显示文摘Reconfigurable intelligent surface(RIS)is emerged as a promising technique to solve the challenges faced by future wireless communication networks.Although the most commonly used electrically-controlled RISs can achieve millisecond-scale speed of dynamic switch,they have a large number of microwave circuit elements(such as PIN diodes or varactors)which will bring non-negligible insertion loss,and the complicity of the bias network to electrically addressing each element will increase with the expansion of the RIS aperture.Aiming at further reducing the fabrication cost and power consumption,herein an electromechanical RIS used for sub-6G wireless communication is proposed.The electromechanical RIS is designed with a passive metasurface and step-motor driver modules,providing simultaneous high-efficiency reflection(over 80%)and continuous reflection phase coverage of 360.Through electromechanical control,the RIS system can realize different reflective wavefront shaping,and has been employed in the indoor sub-6G wireless environment demonstrating a maximum signal improvement of 8.3 dB.The proposed electromechanical RIS is particularly useful for wireless signal enhancement in static blind area,and has the obvious advantage of not requiring continuous power supply after the RIS being regulated.Therefore,it greatly reduces the overall cost and power consumption which may have potentials in indoor application scenarios for improving wireless communication performance.Kai Qu Ke Chen Jianmin Zhao Na Zhang Qi Hu Junming Zhao Tian Jiang Yijun Feng 2023Journal of Information and Intelligence2023,1,3:0
