2ELE restrains empty glumes from developing into lemmas显示文摘Although there is evident homology among reproductive organs when comparing Poaceae (grass) and eudicots, the identity of grass specific organs, such as lodicules, palea, lemma, and glumes has been the subject of a vast and largely inconclusive discussion. Here we provide some direct evidence to support the idea that the empty glumes of rice (Oryza sativa) are counterparts of lemmas. We show that the development of empty glumes is regulated by ELE (elongated empty glume), which belongs to a plant specific novel gene family. Mutations at the ELE locus cause elongated empty glumes, which mimic the lemmas and have the epidermal morphology of lemmas with four or five vascular bundles. As a nuclear-localized gene, ELE is specifically expressed at the empty glumes of immature spikelets, and its ectopic expression causes many floral development defects, including lemma-like palea, extra palea-like structures, elongated lodicules, extra stamens and stigmas. 4Recent progress in Chinese polar upper-atmospheric physics research: review of research advances supported by the Chinese Arctic and Antarctic expeditions显示文摘It has been more than 30 years since the first Chinese Antarctic Expedition took place. Polar upper atmospheric observations started at this time. First began at Great Wall Station and then at Zhongshan Station in Antarctica, and later in the Arctic at Yellow River Station, Kjell Henriksen Observatory on Svalbard, and at the China-Iceland Joint Aurora Observatory in Iceland. In this paper, we reviewed the advances in polar upper atmosphere physics(UAP) based on the Chinese national Arctic and Antarctic research over the last five years. These included newly deployed observatories and research instruments in the Arctic and Antarctic; and new research findings, from ground-based observations, about polar ionosphere dynamics, aurora and particle precipitation, polar plasma convection, geomagnetic pulsations and space plasma waves, space weather in the polar regions, simulations of the polar ionosphere-magnetosphere. 5Blind reconnaissance of the pseudo-random sequence in DS/SS signal with negative SNR显示文摘This paper introduces a new theory and algorithm that can be used in blind detection of the carrier wave signal and the pseudo-random sequence of the direct sequence spread spectrum (DS/SS) signal with negative SNR. First, without any a priori knowledge of the DS/SS signal, the carrier wave signal can be detected from DS/SS signal with negative SNR by using stochastic differential equations and energy detection method. Based on this, the pseudo-random sequence can also be blindly detected in DS/SS signal with negative SNR by reducing noise of the nonlinear signal and the algorithm of wavelet multiscale decomposition algorithm. 6Fabrication of Ti/Al/Mg laminated composites by hot roll bonding and their microstructures and mechanical properties显示文摘Ti/Al/Mg laminated composites were successfully fabricated by hot roll bonding.The effects of the rolling reduction on the microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of the composites were explored.The results show that Ti/Al/Mg laminated sheets exhibit good interfacial bonding.The rolling reduction has a significant effect on the deformation inhomogeneity through the thickness of the Al layer.The initial grains of the Al layer near the Ti/Al interface are fragmented into fine equiaxed grains,and the grains at the center and near the Al/Mg interface are elongated.The R-cube shear texture of the Al layer forms near the Ti/Al interface and permeates into the center layer in the samples with greater rolling reductions.The b-fiber rolling texture of the Al layer is observed near the Al/Mg interface and increases with the increase of rolling reduction.The stress–strain curves indicate that the fracture appears first in the Mg layer.With the increasing rolling reduction,the ultimate tensile and yield strength values increase,and the elongation up to the Mg layer fracture decreases.Pengju WANG Zejun CHEN Hongtao HUANG Jianshu LIN Boxin LI Qing LIU 2021Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,8:4

8A putative bHLH transcription factor is a candidate gene for male sterile 32,a locus affecting pollen and tapetum development in tomato显示文摘The tomato(Solanum lycopersicum)male sterile 32(ms32)mutant has been used in hybrid seed breeding programs largely because it produces no pollen and has exserted stigmas.In this study,histological examination of anthers revealed dysfunctional pollen and tapetum development in the ms32 mutant.The ms32 locus was fine mapped to a 28.5 kb interval that encoded four putative genes.Solyc01g081100,a homolog of Arabidopsis bHLH10/89/90 and rice EAT1,was proposed to be the candidate gene of MS32 because it contained a single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)that led to the formation of a premature stop codon.A codominant derived cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence(dCAPS)marker,MS32D,was developed based on the SNP.Real-time quantitative reverse-transcription PCR showed that most of the genes,which were proposed to be involved in pollen and tapetum development in tomato,were downregulated in the ms32 mutant.These findings may aid in marker-assisted selection of ms32 in hybrid breeding programs and facilitate studies on the regulatory mechanisms of pollen and tapetum development in tomato.Xiaoyan Liu Mengxia Yang Xiaolin Liu Kai Wei Xue Cao Xiaotian Wang Xiaoxuan Wang Yanmei Guo Yongchen Du Junming Li Lei Liu Jinshuai Shu Yong Qin Zejun Huang 2019Horticulture Research2019,6,1:3
9An improved YOLOv3-tiny algorithm for vehicle detection in natural scenes显示文摘YOLO(You Only Look Once),as a target detection algorithm with good speed and precision,is widely used in the industry.In the process of driving,the vehicle image captured by the driving camera is detected and it extracts the license plate and the front part of the vehicle.Compared with the network structure of YOLOv3-tiny algorithm,the acquisition method of anchor box is improved by combining the Birch algorithm.In order to improve the real-time performance,the original two-scale detection is added to the multi-scale prediction of three-scale detection to ensure its accuracy.Finally,the experimental results show that the improved YOLOv3-tiny network structure proposed in this study can improve the performance of mean-average-precision,intersection over union and speed by 5.99%,17.52%and 48.4%,respectively,and the algorithm has certain robustness.Bingqiang Huang Haiping Lin Zejun Hu Xinjian Xiang Jiana Yao 2021IET Cyber-Systems and Robotics2021,3,3:2
