1Isoliquiritigenin inhibits TGF-β1-induced fibrogenesis through activating autophagy via PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway in MRC-5 cells显示文摘Isoliquiritigenin(ISL),a natural flavonoid derived from the root of liquorice,has been reported to possess anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities.Previous studies have found that ISL plays a crucial role in anti-fibrosis of adipose tissue and renal tissue;however,its effect on pulmonary fibrogenesis has not been demonstrated.In this study,we aimed to explore the roles and the underlying mechanisms of ISL in TGF-β1-induced fibrogenesis using human lung fibroblast-derived MRC-5 cells.Cell proliferation and migration were determined by MTT and wound healing assay,respectively.The expression levels of alpha-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA),collagen type I alpha 1(COLIA1)and fibronectin(FN),microtubule-associated protein light chain 3(LC3)and related signaling molecules were detected by quantitative real-time PCR,western blot and immunofluorescence assay,correspondingly.EGFP-LC3 transfection was used for autophagy analysis.The results showed that ISL inhibited the TGF-β1-induced proliferation and migration,and down-regulated the expressions ofα-SMA,COLIA1 and FN.ISL treatment led to up-regulation of LC3 in TGF-β1-treated MRC-5 cells,accompanied by significant decrease in the phosphorylation levels of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase(PI3K),protein kinase B(AKT),and mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR).In addition,the inhibitory effects of ISL on TGF-β1-induced fibrogenic features in MRC-5 cells were enhanced by pretreatment with autophagy activator Rapmycin and PI3K/AKT inhibitor LY294002 and reversed by autophagy inhibitor 3-methyladenine and PI3K/AKT activator IGF-1.Taken together,our results demonstrated that ISL could attenuate the fibrogenesis of TGF-β1-treated MRC-5 cells by activating autophagy via suppressing the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway.Therefore,ISL holds a great potential to be developed as a novel therapeutic agent for the treatment of pulmonary fibrosis.Jinjuan He Hao Peng Meifang Wang Ying Liu Xingrong Guo Bin Wang Longjun Dai Xueqin Cheng Zhongji Meng Leyong Yuan Fenglin Cai Yijun Tang 2020Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,8:16
2Molecular characters and morphological genetics of CAL gene in Chinese cabbage显示文摘BcpCAL, the homologous gene of CAL, was isolated from Chinese cabbage. Unlike bobcat of cauliflower, BcpCAL did not hold the terminating mutation in the fifth e-con. After crosses of cauliflower with Chinese cabbage, the resultant hybrids failed to form curd, which implicates the genetic complement of BcpCAL to the mutated Bob- CAL in the function of curd formation. One of CAL gene isolated from the hybrid apparently comes from the female parent (Chinese cabbage) even though there are a few of the biases substituted and deleted. 3The influence of volcanism on paleoclimate in the northeast of China:Insights from Jinchuan peat,Jilin Province,China显示文摘Just like contemporary sediments, peat itself is a good repository of information about climate change, the effects of volcanic activity on climate change have been truly recorded in peat, since it is a major archive of volcanic eruption incidents. A section of sand was identified as tephra from the Jinchuan peat, Jilin Province, China, for the grains look like slag with surface bubbles and pits, characterized by high porosity, and loose structure with irregular edges and corners. According to the peat characteristics of uniform deposition, the tephra was dated at 2002-1976 a B.P. by way of linear interpolation, so the time of volcanic eruption was 15 B.C.-26 A.D. (the calibrated age). While the geochemical characteristics of tephra in this study are quite the same as those of tephra from the Jinlongdingzi volcano at Longgang and from alkaline basaltic magma, with the contents of SiO2<55%, and the similar contents to Al2O3 and Fe, but the contents of Na2O>K2O. We speculated that the tephra in this study came from the Longgang volcano group. Compared with 11 recorded volcanic eruption events as shown on the carbon and oxygen isotope curves of the Jinchuan peat cellulose, it is obviously seen that adjacent or large-scale volcanic eruptions are precisely corresponding to the minimum temperature and humidity. It seems that these volcanic eruptions indeed affected the local climate, leading to the drop of regional temperature and humidity. As a result, there was prevailing a cold and dry climate there, and all these changes can be well recorded in peat. 4Transfer function-based 2D/3D interactive spatiotemporal visualizations of mesoscale eddies显示文摘In this paper,we present a transfer function-based approach to developing an interactive visualization algorithm for ocean mesoscale eddies.Spatiotemporal coherence and viewport coherence are achieved.Evenly spaced streamlines are only integrated for visible portions of the datasets that maintain a relatively stable visual pattern resolution.The interactive transfer function is introduced to extract 2D and 3D eddy features,such as the Okubo-Weiss parameter,from background ocean currents,and a highly efficient GPU-based framework with an outputsensitive performance is utilized.Using the high-resolution 2D/3D ocean current datasets Maps of Sea Level Anomalies(MSLA)and Hybrid Coordinate Ocean Model(HYCOM),the feasibility and efficiency of our framework are demonstrated.Fenglin Tian Lingqi Cheng Ge Chen 2020International Journal of Digital Earth2020,13,5:4

7Sulfur Vacancies Tune the Charge Distribution of NiCo_(2)S_(4) for Boosting the Energy Density of Stretchable Yarn‑Based Zn Ion Batteries显示文摘Yarn-based batteries with the dual functions of wearable and energy storage have demonstrated promising potential in wearable energy textiles.However,it is still an urgent problem to construct efficient and flexible electrodes while optimize the configuration of yarn-based batteries to maintain excellent electrochemical performance under different mechanical deformations.Herein,NiCo_(2)S_(4-x) nanotube arrays with tunable S-vacancies are constructed on carbon yarn(CY)(NiCo_(2)S_(4-x)@CY)by a facile hydrothermal strategy.The aqueous zinc-ion batteries(ZIBs)with NiCo_(2)S_(4-x)@CY as cathodes exhibit exceptional discharge capacity(271.7 mAh g^(-1))and outstanding rate performance(70.9%capacity retention at 5 A g^(-1)),and reveal a maximum power density of 6,059.5 W kg^(-1) and a maximum energy density of 432.2 Wh kg^(-1).It is worth noting that the tunable S-vacancies promote the surface reconfiguration and phase transitions of NiCo_(2)S_(4-x),thereby enhancing the conductivity and charge storage kinetics.The high reactivity and cycling stability of NiCo_(2)S_(4-x)@CY can be related to the discharge products of S-doped NiO and CoO.Furthermore,flexible stretchable yarn-based ZIBs with wrapped yarn structures are constructed and exhibit excellent tensile stability and durability under a variety of mechanical deformations.As a proof of concept,the ZIBs integrated into the fabric show excellent electrochemical performance even in response to simultaneous stretching and bending mechanical deformations.The proposed strategy provides novel inspiration for the development of highly efficient and economical yarn-based ZIBs and wearable energy textiles.Xinyue Cheng Xu Yang Yanan Zhang Pengfei Lv Jixing Yang Fenglin Huang Qufu Wei 2023Advanced Fiber Materials2023,5,2:1

12Sequentially releasing self-healing hydrogel fabricated with TGFβ3-microspheres and bFGF to facilitate rat alveolar bone defect repair显示文摘Resorption and loss of alveolar bone leads to oral dysfunction and loss of natural or implant teeth. Biomimetic delivery of growth factors based on stem cell recruitment and osteogenic differentiation, as the key steps in natural alveolar bone regenerative process, has been an area of intense research in recent years. A mesoporous self-healing hydrogel(DFH) with basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF) entrapment and transforming growth factor β3(TGFβ3)-loaded chitosan microspheres(CMs) was developed. The formulation was optimized by multiple tests of self-healing, in-bottle inversion, SEM, rheological, swelling rate and in vitro degradation. In vitro tubule formation assays, cell migration assays, and osteogenic differentiation assays confirmed the ability of DFH to promote blood vessels, recruit stem cells, and promote osteogenic differentiation. The optimum DFH formula is 0.05 ml 4ArmPEG-DF(20%) added to 1 ml CsGlu(2%) containing bFGF(80 ng) and TGFβ3-microspheres(5 mg). The results of in vitro release studied by Elisa kit, indicated an 95% release of b FGF in7 d and long-term sustained release of TGFβ3. For alveolar defects rat models, the expression levels of CD29 and CD45, the bone volume fraction, trabecular number, and trabecular thickness of new bone monitored by Micro-CT in DFH treatment groups were significantly higher than others(*P < 0.05, vs Model). HE and Masson staining show the same results.In conclusion, DFH is a design of bionic alveolar remodelling microenvironment, that is in early time microvessels formed by b FGF provide nutritious to recruited endogenous stem cells, then TGFβ3 slowly released speed up the process of new bones formation to common facilitate rat alveolar defect repair. 16Ectopic expression of poplar gene PsnERF138 in tobacco confers salt stress tolerance and growth advantages显示文摘The AP2/ERF family is one of the largest plant-specific transcription factors and plays a vital role in plant growth and stress response.In this study,PsnERF138 was cloned from Populus alba×Populus glandulosa and transformed into tobacco using the Agrobacterium-mediated transformation method.PsnERF138 was localized in the nucleus through subcellular localization assay in tobacco.Under normal conditions,the root lengths of PsnERF138 transgenic lines were much longer than those of wild type.Under salt stress,the transgenic tobacco lines over-expressing PsnERF138 showed a significant increase in seed germination rate,plant height,and root length,compared to control plants.In addition,the transgenic tobacco lines displayed some advantages at the physiological level,such as higher superoxide dismutase(SOD)activity,peroxidase(POD)activity,proline content,and lower malondialdehyde(MDA)content,as compared to those in the control plants.Histochemical staining also showed that the transgenic tobacco lines had lower reactive oxygen species(ROS)accumulation,compared to control plants under salt stress.The combined results indicate that poplar PsnERF138 plays a contributing role in augmenting salt tolerance and conferring multiple growth advantages as being overexpressed in tobacco.Lin Liu Zihan Cheng Wenjing Yao Xueyi Wang Fenglin Jia Boru Zhou Tingbo Jiang 2021Forestry Research2021,1,1:0
17Effect of Soil on the Growth and Quality of Pepper during Different Durations of Continuous Planting显示文摘With the greenhouse soil that had been planted with cucumber as the control,the greenhouse soil that had been planted with pepper for 3,7,10 and 15 consecutive years was collected,and the effects of continuous cropping on plant height,stem diameter,leaf area,yield,photosynthetic pigment content and fruit quality of pepper were investigated by pot experiment. The results showed that with the extension of continuous cropping duration,the plant height,stem diameter and yield of pepper decreased significantly compared with the control; and the mass fraction of photosynthetic pigments declined,and the mass fractions of chlorophyll a and total chlorophyll were significantly lower than those of the control.
