| 1 | The Prospective Two-Dimensional Graphene Nanosheets: Preparation, Functionalization, and Applications显示文摘Graphene, as an intermediate phase between fullerene and carbon nanotube, has aroused much interests among the scientific community due to its outstanding electronic, mechanical, and thermal properties.With excellent electrical conductivity of 6000 S/cm, which is independent on chirality, graphene is a promising material for high-performance nanoelectronics, transparent conductor, as well as polymer composites. On account of its Young's Modulus of 1 TPa and ultimate strength of 130 GPa, isolated graphene sheet is considered to be among the strongest materials ever measured. Comparable with the single-walled carbon nanotube bundle,graphene has a thermal conductivity of 5000 W/(m·K), which suggests a potential application of graphene in polymer matrix for improving thermal properties of the graphene/polymer composite. Furthermore, graphene exhibits a very high surface area, up to a value of 2630 m^2/g. All of these outstanding properties suggest a wide application for this nanometer-thick, two-dimensional carbon material. This review article presents an overview of the significant advancement in graphene research: preparation, functionalization as well as the properties of graphene will be discussed. | 2 | Controllable Synthesis of Fluorescent Carbon Dots and Their Detection Application as Nanoprobes显示文摘Carbon dots(CDs), as a new member of carbon nanomaterial family, have aroused great interest since their discovery in 2004. Because of their outstanding water solubility, high sensitivity and selectivity to target analytes, low toxicity, favorable biocompatibility, and excellent photostability, researchers from diverse disciplines have come together to further develop the fundamental properties of CDs. Many methods for the production of CDs have been reported, therein, hydrothermal and solvothermal technology needs simple equipments, and microwave synthesis needs less reaction time, hence these methods become current common synthesis methods, in which many precursors have been applied to produce CDs. Due to their excellent fluorescence, CDs have made impressive strides in sensitivity and selectivity to a diverse array of salt ions,organic/biological molecules and target gases. The development of CDs as nanoprobes is still in its infancy, but continued progress may lead to their integration into environmental and biological applications. | 5 | Regulation of phenylpropanoid biosynthesis by MdMYB88 and MdMYB124 contributes to pathogen and drought resistance in apple显示文摘MdMYB88 and MdMYB124 have been demonstrated to be responsible for lignin accumulation in apple under drought stress.In this study,using a metabolomic approach,we identified differentially accumulated phenylpropanoid and flavonoid metabolites in MdMYB88/124 transgenic RNAi plants under control and long-term drought stress conditions in apple roots.We confirmed the regulation of phenylalanine by MdMYB88 and MdMYB124 via UPLC-MS in apple roots under both control and drought conditions.Using Electrophoretic Mobility Shift Assay(EMSA)and ChIPquantitative PCR(qPCR)analyses,we found that MdMYB88 positively regulates the MdCM2 gene,which is responsible for phenylalanine biosynthesis,through binding to its promoter region.Under long-term drought conditions,MdMYB88/124 RNAi plants consistently accumulated increased amounts of H2O2 and MDA,while MdMYB88 and MdMYB124 overexpression plants accumulated decreased amounts of H2O2 and MDA.We also examined the accumulation of metabolites in the phenylpropanoid biosynthesis pathway in the leaves of MdMYB88 and MdMYB124 transgenic apple plants after long-term drought stress.We found that metabolites responsible for plant defense,including phenylpropanoids and flavonoids,accumulated less in the RNAi plants but more in the overexpression plants under both control and drought conditions.We further demonstrated that MdMYB88/124 RNAi plants were more sensitive to Alternaria alternata f.sp.mali and Valsa mali,two pathogens that currently severely threaten apple production.In contrast,MdMYB88 and MdMYB124 overexpression plants were more tolerant to these pathogens.The cumulative results of this study provided evidence for secondary metabolite regulation by MdMYB88 and MdMYB124,further explained the molecular roles of MdMYB88 and MdMYB124 in drought resistance,and provided information concerning molecular aspects of their roles in disease resistance. | Dali Geng Xiaoxia Shen Yinpeng Xie Yusen Yang Ruiling Bian Yuqi Gao Pengmin Li Liying Sun Hao Feng Fengwang Ma Qingmei Guan | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 5 |
| 6 | SNP-based QTL mapping for panicle traits in the japonica super rice cultivar Liaoxing 1显示文摘Panicle traits directly associated with yield are a target of selection in rice breeding.Although abundant QTL for panicle traits have been identified,there is little information about the genetic basis of panicle traits in japonica super rice(JSR)cultivars.In this study,we identified QTL for panicle traits in three environments using a population of recombinant inbred lines(RILs)derived from the JSR cultivar Liaoxing 1.A total of 197 RILs were genotyped with 285 polymorphic SNP markers.Phenotypic data and best linear unbiased prediction(BLUP)value of primary branch number(BNP),secondary branch number(BNS),grain number on primary branch(GNP),grain number on secondary branch(GNS),grain number per panicle(GN),panicle length(PL)and grain density(GD)were used for QTL mapping.A total of 105 QTL for seven panicle traits were detected in single environments using their BLUP values.Individual QTL explained 0.51%–52.22%of the phenotypic variation.Of the 105,49 were also detected by joint multi-environment analyses.Five stable QTL:qGD9,qPL9,qGNP9,qGN6,and qBNS6.2 were identified in multiple environments.qGD9,qGNP9,and qPL9,co-localizing on chromosome 9,likely correspond to the known gene DEP1.Importantly,qGN6 and qBNS6.2 in a co-localization region were identified as novel QTL,and their Liaoxing 1 alleles had a positive effect.Several RILs with the QTL allele combinations qGD9/qPL9/qGNP9 and qGN6/qBNS6.2 showed greater GN.Further investigation of the putative gene underlying qGN6/qBNS6.2 would shed light on the molecular mechanism of JSR. | Mingzhu Zhao Zuobin Ma Lili Wang Zhiqiang Tang Ting Mao Chuanbin Liang Hong Gao Liying Zhang Na He Liang Fu Changhua Wang Guomin Sui Wenjing Zheng | 2020 | The Crop Journal2020,8,5: | 4 |
| 7 | Effect of ultrasonic vibration on finished quality in ultrasonic vibration assisted micromilling of Inconel718显示文摘Inconel718 was machined with the traditional micromilling(TMM)and ultrasonic vibration assisted micromilling(UVAMM)with the different technology parameters,whose surface quality and burrs formation were studied.The results show that TMM often forms pits,bumps and gullies in the size effect range.UVAMM effectively improves the surface quality compared with TMM.The surface defects are significantly reduced with the increase of feed per tooth(fz).When fz exceeds 4 lm,the effect of ultrasonic vibration on the surface quality is no longer obvious.The minimum burr size on the down milling side and the up milling side are 50.23 lm and 36.57 lm,respectively.The feasibility of vibration cutting in improving surface quality and suppressing burr size was verified.UVAMM effectively suppresses the formation of built-up edge,which can significantly improve the micromilling process.The cutting force is obtained through simulation and experiment.They are agreement in the change trend.The finite element simulation can be used to predict the cutting force.Compared with TMM,feeding force(Fx),radial force(Fy)and axial force(Fz)of UVAMM decrease by 7.6%,11.5%and 1.3%,respectively. | Bin FANG Zhonghang YUAN Depeng LI Liying GAO | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,6: | 3 |

| 9 | Eff ect of polystyrene microplastics and temperature on growth,intestinal histology and immune responses of brine shrimp Artemia franciscana显示文摘Microplastics pollution and seawater temperature rise have been the major environmental issues,threatening the survival and biodiversity of marine organisms.This study evaluated the combined effect of temperature and polystyrene microplastics(MP)on Artemia,a filter-feeding crustacean that is widely used for environmental toxicology studies.Brine shrimp Artemia franciscana were exposed to three MP concentrations(0,0.2,and 2.0 mg/L)and three temperatures(22,26,and 30℃)for 14 d.In general,higher MP concentration and temperature led to a decreased survival rate and growth.Two-way ANOVA analysis indicated that the survival rate of Artemia was significantly impacted by both MP concentration and temperature(P<0.05),but there was no significant interaction between two factors(P>0.05).Growth of Artemia was significantly impacted by temperature(P<0.05),and with a significant interaction between two factors(P<0.05).Furthermore,the enzymatic activity,intestinal histological analyses,and immune gene expression were determined for Artemia reared at 30℃ with three MP concentrations(0,0.2,and 2.0 mg/L).The results showed that 2.0-mg/L MP resulted in reduced Artemia intestinal microvilli and exfoliated epithelia cells,significantly increased acid phosphatase(ACP)activity(P<0.05)and immunerelated gene ADRA1 B and CREB3 expression,revealing that higher MP concentration could induce oxidative and immunological stress on Artemia at 30℃.Overall,our study suggests that MP and temperature have combined adverse effect on Artemia,especially at relatively high temperature and polystyrene MP concentration.These findings are important to understand the potential ecological risks posed by these two factors on the organisms in marine environment. | Xuekai HAN Yuyu ZHENG Chaoling DAI Hu DUAN Meirong GAO Md Rayhan ALI Liying SUI | 2021 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2021,39,3: | 2 |
| 10 | Effect of carbon and nitrogen ratio control on Artemia growth, water quality, biofloc microbial diversity under high salinity and zero-water exchange culture condition显示文摘Biofloc technology has been applied successfully in the intensive aquaculture of several fish and shrimp species. The growth of heterotrophic microorganisms can be stimulated through adding extra carbon, which reduces the nitrogen level in the water and provides microbial protein to the animals. However, most of the studies and practical applications have been conducted in freshwater and marine environment. This paper focused on brine shrimp Artemia that lives in high salinity environment together with other halophilic or halotolerant microorganisms. The effect of carbon supplementation on Artemia growth, water quality, and microbial diversity of biofl ocs was studied in the closed culture condition without any water exchange. The salinity of the culture medium was 100. A 24-d culture trial was conducted through supplementing sucrose at carbon/nitrogen (C/N) ratio of 5, 15, and 30 (Su5, Su15, and Su30), respectively. The culture without adding sucrose was used as a control. Artemia was fed formulated feed at a feeding ration of 60% recommended feeding level. The results showed that sucrose supplementation at higher C/N ratio (15 and 30) signifi cantly improved the Artemia survival, growth and water quality ( P <0.05). Addition of sucrose at C/N ratio of 15 and 30 significantly increased biofloc volume (BFV)( P <0.05). The Illumina MiSeq sequencing analysis showed that supplementing carbon at C/N ratio of 15 had a better total bacterial diversity and richness, and shaped the microbial composition at genera level. | 11 | Effects of Y and Zn additions on electrical conductivity and electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of Mg-Y-Zn alloys显示文摘Microstructure, electrical conductivity, and electromagnetic interference(EMI) shielding effectiveness(SE) of cast Mg-x Zn-y Y(x = 2–5, y = 1–10) alloys were systematically investigated to understand the effects of Zn and Y additions on electrical conductivity and electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of the alloys.Experimental results indicate that the electrical conductivity and SE of the Mg-x Zn-y Y alloys decrease with Y/Zn ratio. Electrical conductivity is the main factor that affects the electromagnetic shielding properties and the variation tendency of electromagnetic shielding properties of the Mg-x Zn-y Y alloys is consistent with conductivity. Valence of Y and Zn atoms, configuration of extranuclear electron and volumetric difference are main reasons for the variations in the electrical conductivity. | 16 | Fabrication and characterization of Ba Ce_(0.8)Y_(0.2)O_(2.9)-Ce_(0.85)Sm_(0.15)O_(1.925) composite electrolytes for IT-SOFCs显示文摘The Ba Ce0.8Y0.2O2.9-Ce0.85Sm0.15O1.925 composite electrolytes were prepared with Ba Ce0.8Y0.2O2.9(BCY) and Ce0.85Sm0.15O1.925(SDC). The SDC and BCY powders were mixed in the weight ratio of 95:5, 85:15, and 75:25, respectively(named as BS95, BS85, and BS75). Because of the composite effect between the SDC and BCY phases, the BS95 and BS85 exhibit improved conductivity compared with the pure SDC and BCY. The conductivity of BS95 is higher than that of BS85, indicating that the composite effect of BS95 is greater than that of BS85. Nevertheless, the composite effect in BS75 does not exist. Hence, we conclude that the composite effect in the BCY-SDC composites will decrease with the increase of the amount of BCY and even disappear when the amount of BCY exceeds a certain value. In our case, the optimum composition of the composite electrolyte is 95 wt% SDC and 5 wt% BCY. The BS95 has the highest conductivity(σ1t=0.07808 S cm-1, at 800 °C) and the fuel cell based on the BS95 shows the best performance(the maximum power density reaches as high as 526 mw cm-2 at 750 °C).
