| 3 | The Sunway TaihuLight supercomputer: system and applications显示文摘The Sunway Taihu Light supercomputer is the world's first system with a peak performance greater than 100 PFlops. In this paper, we provide a detailed introduction to the Taihu Light system. In contrast with other existing heterogeneous supercomputers, which include both CPU processors and PCIe-connected many-core accelerators(NVIDIA GPU or Intel Xeon Phi), the computing power of Taihu Light is provided by a homegrown many-core SW26010 CPU that includes both the management processing elements(MPEs)and computing processing elements(CPEs) in one chip. With 260 processing elements in one CPU, a single SW26010 provides a peak performance of over three TFlops. To alleviate the memory bandwidth bottleneck in most applications, each CPE comes with a scratch pad memory, which serves as a user-controlled cache. To support the parallelization of programs on the new many-core architecture, in addition to the basic C/C++and Fortran compilers, the system provides a customized Sunway Open ACC tool that supports the Open ACC2.0 syntax. | 4 | Effectiveness of 5-flurouracil-based neoadjuvant chemotherapy in locally-advanced gastric/gastroesophageal cancer:A meta-analysis显示文摘AIM:To investigate the effectiveness of 5-flurouracilbased neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NAC) for gastroesophageal and gastric cancer by meta-analysis.METHODS:MEDLINE and manual searches were performed to identify all published randomized controlled trials(RCTs) investigating the efficacy of the flurouracilbased NAC for gastroesophageal and gastric cancer,and RCTs of NAC for advanced gastroesophageal and gastric cancer vs no therapy before surgery.Studies that included patients with metastases at enrollment were excluded.Primary endpoint was the odds ratio(OR) for improving overall survival rate of patients with gastroesophageal and gastric cancer.Secondary endpoints were the OR of efficiency for down-staging tumor and increasing R0 resection in patients with gas-troesophageal and gastric cancer.Safety analyses were also performed.The OR was the principal measurement of effect,which was calculated as the treatment group(NAC plus surgery) vs control group(surgery alone) and was presented as a point estimate with 95% confidence intervals(CI).All calculations and statistical tests were performed using RevMan 5.1 software.RESULTS:Seven RCTs were included for the analysis.A total of 1249 patients with advanced gastroesophageal and gastric cancer enrolled in the seven trials were divided into treatment group(n = 620) and control group(n = 629).The quality scores of the RCTs were assessed according to the method of Jadad.The RCT quality scores ranged from 2 to 7(5-point scale),with a mean of 3.75.The median follow-up time in these studies was over 3 years.The meta-analysis showed that NAC improved the overall survival rate(OR 1.40,95%CI 1.11-1.76;P = 0.005),which was statistically significant.The 3-year progression-free survival rate was significantly higher in treatment group than in control group(37.7% vs 27.3%)(OR 1.62,95%CI 1.21-2.15;P = 0.001).The tumor down-stage rate was higher in treatment group than in control group(55.76% vs 41.38%)(OR 1.77,95%CI 1.27-2.49;P = 0.0009) and the R0 resection rate of the gastroesophageal and gastric cancer was higher in treatment group than in control group(75.11% vs 68.56%)(OR 1.38,95%CI 1.03-1.85;P = 0.03),with significant differences.No obvious safety concerns about mortality and complications were raised in these trials.There were no statistically significant differences in perioperative mortality(5.08% vs 4.86%)(OR 1.05,95%CI 0.57-1.94;P = 0.87 fixed-effect model) and in the complication rate between the two groups(13.25% vs 9.66%)(OR 1.40,95%CI 0.91-2.14;P = 0.12 fixed-effect model).Trials showed that patients from Western countries favored NAC compared with those from Asian countries(OR 1.40,95%CI 1.07-1.83).Monotherapy was inferior tomultiple chemotherapy(OR 1.40,95%CI 1.07-1.83).Intravenous administration of NAC was more advantageous than oral route(OR 1.41,95%CI 1.09-1.81).CONCLUSION:Flurouracil-based NAC can safely improve overall survival rate of patients with gastroesophageal/gastric cancer.Additionally,NAC can down the tumor stage and improve R0 resection. | Lei Ge Hai-Jiang Wang Dong Yin Cheng Lei Jin-Feng Zhu Xiao-Hui Cai Guo-Qing Zhang | 2012 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2012,18,48: | 19 |

| 6 | Rattle-Type Silica Colloidal Particles Prepared by a Surface- Protected Etching Process显示文摘This paper explores the capability of the“surface-protected etching”process for the creation of rattle-type SiO_(2)@void@SiO_(2) colloidal structures featuring a mesoporous silica shell and a mesoporous movable silica core.The surface-protected etching process involves stabilization of the particle surface using a polymer ligand,and then selective etching of the interior to form hollow structures.In this paper,this strategy has been extended to the formation of rattle-like structures by etching SiO_(2)@SiO_(2) core shell particles which are synthesized by a two-step sol gel process.The key is to introduce a protecting polymer of polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP)to the surface of both core and shell in order to tailor their relative stability against chemical etching.Upon reacting with NaOH,the outer layer silica becomes a hollow shell as only the surface layer is protected by PVP and the interior is removed,while the core remains its original size thanks to the protection of PVP on its surface.This process can be carried out at room temperature without the need of additional templates or complicated heterogeneous coating procedures.The etching process also results in the rattle-type colloids having mesoscale pores with two distinct average sizes.In our demonstration of a model drug delivery process,such mesoporous structures show an interesting two-step elution profile which is believed to be related to the unique porous rattle structures. | Qiao Zhang Jianping Ge James Goebl Yongxing Hu Zhenda Lu Yadong Yin | 2009 | Nano Research2009,2,7: | 18 |

| 10 | Effects of different mixing ratios on emissions from passenger cars fueled with methanol/gasoline blends显示文摘Regulated and unregulated emissions from four passenger cars fueled with methanol/gasoline blends at different mixing ratios (M15,M20,M30,M50,M85 and M100) were tested over the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC).Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) were sampled by Tenax TA and analyzed by thermal desorption-gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer (TD-GC/MS).Carbonyls were trapped on dinitrophenylhydrazine (DNPH) cartridges and analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).The results showed that total emissions of VOCs and BTEX (benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene,p,m,o-xylene) from all vehicles fueled with methanol/gasoline blends were lower than those from vehicles fueled with only gasoline.Compared to the baseline,the use of M85 decreased BTEX emissions by 97.4%,while the use of M15 decreased it by 19.7%.At low-to-middle mixing ratios (M15,M20,M30 and M50),formaldehyde emissions showed a slight increase while those of high mixing ratios (M85 and M100) were three times compared with the baseline gasoline only.When the vehicles were retrofitted with new three-way catalytic converters (TWC),emissions of carbon monoxide (CO),total hydrocarbon (THC),and nitrogen oxides (NOx) were decreased by 24%-50%,10%-35%,and 24%-58% respectively,compared with the cars using the original equipment manufacture (OEM) TWC.Using the new TWC,emissions of formaldehyde and BTEX were decreased,while those of other carbonyl increased.It is necessary that vehicles fueled with methanol/gasoline blends be retrofitted with a new TWC.In addition,the specific reactivity of emissions of vehicles fueled with M15 and retrofitted with the new TWC was reduced from 4.51 to 4.08 compared to the baseline vehicle.This indicates that the use of methanol/gasoline blend at a low mixing ratio may have lower effect on environment than gasoline. | Hong Zhao Yunshan Ge Jianwei Tan Hang Yin Jiadong Guo Wei Zhao Peipei Dai | 2011 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,11: | 12 |

For short-duration events, the mean intensity and peak intensity increased at most stations and the time to peak intensity decreased, which may be attributable to the higher thermal contrast between the warmer lower surface and cooler upper level. In the case of long-duration events, the total amount was significantly correlated with the East Asian summer monsoon index for the period 1961-2001 (correlation coefficient of 0.63). | 14 | Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. | 17 | Characteristics of the HIV/AIDS Epidemic in Women Aged 15-49 Years from 2005 to 2012 in China显示文摘Objective To describe the characteristics of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in women aged 15-49 years in China. Methods HIV/AIDS cases from 2005 to 2012 that fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria were identified on the Chinese HIV/AIDS case reporting system. Descriptive and spatial analyses were performed. Results A total of 103,559 female HIV/AIDS cases were included in our study. Based on the descriptive analysis, between 2005 and 2012, the proportion of heterosexually acquired HIV infection among women(15-49 years) increased rapidly from 35.8% to 87.4%. Approximately 60% of these cases were infected through non-marital heterosexual contact. Among older women(40-49 years), a slightly increasing trend was identified. The spatial analysis detected ‘hot spots' in the Xinjiang, Yunnan, Sichuan, Guangxi, and Chongqing provinces. The epidemic trends in these areas were predominately driven by heterosexual transmission. Conclusion Non-marital heterosexual contact is a very important factor in the HIV/AIDS epidemic in women aged 15-49 years, and the HIV infection rate in older women is increasing. Several epidemic hot spots were detected in northwestern and southwestern China. | 19 | Numerical Experiment of the Solid Particle Erosion of Bionic Configuration Blade of Centrifugal Fan显示文摘In this paper, a bionic method was presented to improve the erosion resistance of blade of the centrifugal fan. A numerical investigation of the solid particle erosion on the standard and bionic configuration blade of 4-72N10C centrifugal fan was presented. The numerical study employs computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software, based on a finite volume method, in which the discrete phase model was used to modele the solid particles flow, and the Eulerian conservation equation was adopt to simulate the continuous phase. Moreover, user-defined function was used to define wear equation. The various diameters of the particles were taken into account. The positions of collision of standard and bionic fan blades were discussed, and two kinds of centrifugal fan blade wear were compared. The results show that the particles from the incident source with different positions have different processes of turning and movement when enter into the impeller. The trajectories of flow in the fan channel are significantly different for the particles with different diameters. Bionic fan blade have lower erosion rate than the standard fan blade when the particle size is 20 μm.
