2Spatial and temporal distribution of MODIS and MISR aerosol optical depth over northern China and comparison with AERONET显示文摘Aerosol optical depths (AODs) from MODIS and MISR onboard the Terra satellite are assessed by comparison with measurements from four AERONET sites located in northern China for the period 2006-2009. The results show that MISR performs better than MODIS at the SACOL and Beijing sites. For the Xianghe and Xinglong sites, MODIS AOD retrievals are better than those of MISR. Overall, the relative error of the Angstrom exponent from MISR compared with AERONET is about 14%, but the MODIS error can reach 30%. Thus, it may be better to use the MISR Angstrom exponent to derive wavelength-dependent AOD values when calculating the aerosol radiative forcing in a radiative transfer model. Seasonal analysis of AOD over most of China shows two main areas with high aerosol loading: the Taklimakan Desert region and the southern part of North China and northern part of East China. The locations of these two areas of high aerosol loading do not change with season, but the AOD values have significant seasonal variation. The largest AOD value in the Taklimakan appears in spring when the Angstrom exponents are the lowest, which means the particle radii are relatively large. Over North and East China, the highest aerosol loading appears in summer. 3Rattle-Type Silica Colloidal Particles Prepared by a Surface- Protected Etching Process显示文摘This paper explores the capability of the“surface-protected etching”process for the creation of rattle-type SiO_(2)@void@SiO_(2) colloidal structures featuring a mesoporous silica shell and a mesoporous movable silica core.The surface-protected etching process involves stabilization of the particle surface using a polymer ligand,and then selective etching of the interior to form hollow structures.In this paper,this strategy has been extended to the formation of rattle-like structures by etching SiO_(2)@SiO_(2) core shell particles which are synthesized by a two-step sol gel process.The key is to introduce a protecting polymer of polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP)to the surface of both core and shell in order to tailor their relative stability against chemical etching.Upon reacting with NaOH,the outer layer silica becomes a hollow shell as only the surface layer is protected by PVP and the interior is removed,while the core remains its original size thanks to the protection of PVP on its surface.This process can be carried out at room temperature without the need of additional templates or complicated heterogeneous coating procedures.The etching process also results in the rattle-type colloids having mesoscale pores with two distinct average sizes.In our demonstration of a model drug delivery process,such mesoporous structures show an interesting two-step elution profile which is believed to be related to the unique porous rattle structures.Qiao Zhang Jianping Ge James Goebl Yongxing Hu Zhenda Lu Yadong Yin 2009Nano Research2009,2,7:18
42018 update of expert consensus statement on antiplatelet therapy in East Asian patients with ACS or undergoing PCI显示文摘East Asians are the most populous race in the world and their health status is an important global issue.Compared with Caucasian populations, East Asian patients have a different benefit/risk ratio when using antithrombotic treatment. Despite this observation, treatment strategies in East Asian patients are mostly based on the American and European guidelines. Despite a lower platelet inhibitory response to clopidogrel, East Asian patients show a similar or even a lower rate of ischemic event occurrence and higher bleeding risk compared with Caucasian patients. For potent P2Y_(12) inhibitors(ticagrelor and prasugrel),East Asian patients have shown less favorable net clinical benefits compared with Caucasian patients,which may be related to differences in pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic profiles and therapeutic zone of antiplatelet effect. This updated consensus mainly focuses on state-of-the-art and current controversies in the East Asian population. 7Spatial pattern of grassland aboveground biomass and its environmental controls in the Eurasian steppe显示文摘Vegetation biomass is an important component of terrestrial ecosystem carbon stocks. Grasslands are one of the most widespread biomes worldwideplaying an important role in global carbon cycling. Thereforestudying spatial patterns of biomass and their correlations to environment in grasslands is fundamental to quantifying terrestrial carbon budgets. The Eurasian steppean important part of global grasslandsis the largest and relatively well preserved grassland in the world. In this studywe analyzed the spatial pattern of aboveground biomass(AGB)and correlations of AGB to its environment in the Eurasian steppe by meta-analysis. AGB data used in this study were derived from the harvesting method and were obtained from three data sources(literatureglobal NPP database at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory Distributed Active Archive Center(ORNL)some data provided by other researchers). Our results demonstrated that:(1) as for the Eurasian steppe overallthe spatial variation in AGB exhibited significant horizontal and vertical zonality. In detailAGB showed an inverted parabola curve with the latitude and with the elevationwhile a parabola curve with the longitude. In additionthe spatial pattern of AGB had marked horizontal zonality in the Black Sea-Kazakhstan steppe subregion and the Mongolian Plateau steppe subregionwhile horizontal and vertical zonality in the Tibetan Plateau alpine steppe subregion.(2) Of the examined environmental variablesthe spatial variation of AGB was related to mean annual precipitation(MAP)mean annual temperature(MAT)mean annual solar radiation(MAR)soil Gravel contentsoil p H and soil organic content(SOC) at the depth of 0–30 cm. NeverthelessMAP dominated spatial patterns of AGB in the Eurasian steppe and its three subregions.(3) A Gaussian function was found between AGB and MAP in the Eurasian steppe overallwhich was primarily determined by unique patterns of grasslands and environment in the Tibetan Plateau. AGB was significantly positively related to MAP in the Black Sea-Kazakhstan steppe subregion(elevation < 3000 m)the Mongolian Plateau steppe subregion(elevation < 3000 m) and the surface(elevation ≥ 4800 m) of the Tibetan Plateau. Neverthelessthe spatial variation in AGB exhibited a Gaussian function curve with the increasing MAP in the east and southeast margins(elevation < 4800 m) of the Tibetan Plateau. 8Effect of Landform on Seasonal Temperature Structures across China in the Past 52 Years显示文摘The data of 160 national meteorological observatory stations including the long-term monthly temperature data in China were analyzed to study the seasonal variation of the spatial temperature structures across China in the past half century. It is found that temperature structures differ between seasons: a latitude temperature pattern in winter and a landform temperature pattern in summer, which indicate that the effect of landform on temperature structure is much stronger in summer than that in winter and the effect of latitudinal temperature is much stronger in winter than that in summer. 9Classification and origin of natural gases from Lishui Sag,the East China Sea Basin显示文摘Natural gases discovered up to now in Lishui Sag,the East China Sea Basin,differ greatly in gaseous compositions,of which hydrocarbon gases amount to 2%―94%while non-hydrocarbon gases are dominated by CO2.Their hydrocarbon gases,without exception,contain less than 90%of methane and over 10%of C2 + heavier hydrocarbons,indicating a wet gas.Carbon isotopic analyses on these hydrocarbon gases showed thatδ13C 1 ,δ13C 2 andδ13C 3 are basically lighter than-44‰,-29‰and-26‰, respectively.The difference in carbon isotopic values between methane and ethane is great,suggesting a biogenic oil-type gas produced by the mixed organic matter at peak generation.δ13C CO2 values of nonhydrocarbon gases are all heavier than-10‰,indicating a typical abiogenic gas.The simulation experiment on hydrocarbon generation of organic matter in a closed gold-tube system showed that the proportion of methane in natural gases produced by terrigenous organic matter in the Lingfeng Formation marine deposit is obviously higher than that in natural gases derived from the aquatic and terrigenous mixed organic matter in the Yueguifeng Formation lacustrine deposit,consequently the proportion of heavier hydrocarbons of the former is remarkably lower than that of the latter.Moreover, δ13C 1 values of natural gases produced by terrigenous organic matter in the Lingfeng Formation marine deposit are about 5‰heavier than those of natural gases derived from the aquatic and terrigenous mixed organic matter in the Yueguifeng Formation lacustrine deposit whileδ13C 2 andδ13C 3 values of the former are over 9‰heavier than those of the latter.Currently the LS36-1 oil-gas pool is the only commercial oil-gas reservoir in Lishui Sag,where carbon isotopic compositions of various hydrocarbon components differ greatly from those of natural gases produced by the Lingfeng Formation organic matter but are very similar to those of natural gases derived from the Yueguifeng Formation organic matter,therefore,natural gases in the LS36-1 oil-gas pool are mainly derived from the Yueguifeng Formation lacustrine source rock rather than the Lingfeng Formation marine or Mingyuefeng Formation coal-measures source rocks.CHEN JianPing 1,2 ,GE HePing 3 ,CHEN XiaoDong 3 ,DENG ChunPing 1,2 &LIANG DiGang 1,2 1 Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration&Development,PetroChina,Beijing 100083,China 2 Key Lab of Petroleum Geochemistry,CNPC,Beijing 100083,China 3 Shanghai Division,CNOOC,Shanghai 200030,China 2008Science China Earth Sciences2008,51,S1:5

11Estimating abundance and density of Amur tigers along the Sino- Russian border显示文摘As an apex predator the Amur tiger(Panthera tigris altaica)could play a pivotal role in maintaining the integ­rity of forest ecosystems in Northeast Asia.Due to habitat loss and harvest over the past century,tigers rapidly declined in China and are now restricted to the Russian Far East and bordering habitat in nearby China.To fa­cilitate restoration of the tiger in its historical range,reliable estimates of population size are essential to assess effectiveness of conservation interventions.Here we used camera trap data collected in Hunchun National Na­ture Reserve from April to June 2013 and 2014 to estimate tiger density and abundance using both maximum likelihood and Bayesian spatially explicit capture-recapture(SECR)methods.A minimum of 8 individuals were detected in both sample periods and the documentation of marking behavior and reproduction suggests the presence of a resident population.Using Bayesian SECR modeling within the 11400 km2 state space,den­sity estimates were 0.33 and 0.40 individuals/100 km^(2) in 2013 and 2014,respectively,corresponding to an es­timated abundance of 38 and 45 animals for this transboundary Sino-Russian population.In a maximum likeli­hood framework,we estimated densities of 0.30 and 0.24 individuals/100 km^(2) corresponding to abundances of 34 and 27,in 2013 and 2014,respectively.These density estimates are comparable to other published estimates for resident Amur tiger populations in the Russian Far East.This study reveals promising signs of tiger recovery in Northeast China,and demonstrates the importance of connectivity between the Russian and Chinese popula­tions for recovering tigers in Northeast China.Wenhong XIAO Limin FENG Pu MOU Dale GMIQUELLE Mark HEBBLEWHITE Joshua FGOLDBERG Hugh SROBINSON Xiaodan ZHAO Bo ZHOU Tianming WANG Jianping GE 2016Integrative Zoology2016,11,4:4
12Live cell imaging and proteomic profiling of endogenous NEAT1 lncRNA by CRISPR/ Cas9-mediated knock-in显示文摘In mammalian cells,long noncoding RNAs(lncRNAs)form complexes with proteins to execute various biological functions such as gene transcription,RNA processing and other signaling activities.However,methods to track endogenous lncRNA dynamics in live cells and screen for lncRNA interacting proteins are limited.Here,we report the development of CERTIS(CRISPR-mediated Endogenous lncRNA Tracking and Immunoprecipitation System)to visualize and isolate endogenous lncRNA,by precisely inserting a 24-repeat MS2 tag into the distal end of lncRNA locus through the CRISPR7Cas9 technology.In this study,we show that CERTIS effectively labeled the paraspeckle lncRNA NEAT1 without disturbing its physiological properties and could monitor the endogenous expression variation of NEAT1.In addition,CERTIS displayed superior performance on both short-and long-term tracking of NEAT1 dynamics in live cells.We found that NEAT1 and paraspeckles were sensitive to topoisomerase I specific inhibitors.Moreover,RNA Immunoprecipitation(RIP)of the MS2-tagged NEAT1 lncRNA successfully revealed several new protein components of paraspeckle.Our results support CERTIS as a tool suitable to track both spatial and temporal lncRNA regulation in live cells as well as study the lncRNA-protein interactomes.Bohong Chen Shengcheng Deng Tianyu Ge Miaoman Ye Jianping Yu Song Lin Wenbin Ma Zhou Songyang 2020Protein & Cell2020,11,9:4
13Elusive cats in our backyards:persistence of the North Chinese leopard(Panthera pardus japonensis)in a human-dominated landscape in central China显示文摘The North Chinese leopard(Panthera pardus japonensis),the least-known big cat,disappeared in most historical range for decades,following the development of modern civilization.Unfortunately,we have scarce knowledge about the status of this big cat so far,apart from anecdotal reports.In this study,we investigated density,distribution,and habitat use of the leopard,the apex predator,in a complex forest landscape in the Loess Plateau.We used a camera-trapping network to obtain population estimates for leopards over 2 years through spatially explicit capture-recapture models.Our results,based on maximum likelihood and Bayesian/MCMC methods,reveal that the largest wild population of the leopard was found widely distributed in remnant forests in central Loess plateau.The population is increasing in our study area,and the density of leopards(1.70(SE=0.48)−2.40(SE=0.67)/100 km^(2))is higher than other areas of China.According to the analysis of 2 seasonal occupancy models,prey species drive partially the leopard habitat use,predicting that the big cat thrives from the recovery of prey community.However,human disturbances,especially oil wells,seem to have negative impacts on the habitat use of leopards.Specifically,it is necessary to have joint efforts by the government and researchers to improve human disturbances management and prey species population density,as well as strengthen the investment in research on the North Chinese leopard,which could all further strengthen protection ability and ensure the long-term survival of this species.Haitao YANG Bing XIE Guojing ZHAO Yinan GONG Pu MOU Jianping GE Limin FENG 2021Integrative Zoology2021,16,1:3
14超高场MRI:脑部成像结果探讨(英文)显示文摘随着射频和线圈技术的提高,超高场磁共振近年来有了很大的发展。与常规的场强,超高场MR主要具有以下优势:(1)信噪比的显著增加保证了高分辨率和高质量的图像,从而大大提高了微小结构的检出;(2)由于磁敏感效应的增加,T2*或磁敏感技术有了更广泛的应用,尤其是对异常的铁沉积,微小出血点和小静脉血管的检测;(3)高场T1弛豫时间的增加可以提高ASL灌注成像技术的应用;(4)信号本身的增加也可提高fMRI和MRS的分辨率等。当然,目前超高场强磁共振技术也还有一些局限性:(1)SAR的明显增加限制了采集层数并影响采集时间;(2)高场下RF磁场(B1)的不均匀性造成图像信号的不均匀;(3)增加的磁敏感效应也在颅底增加了相应的伪影等。本文对高场7T在纽约大学医疗中心脑部MR的最初临床应用结果 进行了分析。Yulin Ge Robert I. 15Valency Study of Vanadium in Stone Coal of Southern China显示文摘Vanadium-bearing stone coal is a new resource of vanadium. V in stone coal mainly exists in three oxidation states: 7.84%V(Ⅲ), 72.08% Ⅴ(Ⅳ) and 20.08% Ⅴ(Ⅴ). The change and distribution of valency of Ⅴ during oxidizing roasting shows that organicmatter in the coal determines valency of Ⅴ at low temperature; at about 450℃, Ⅴ(Ⅲ) is completely oxidized to Ⅴ(Ⅳ); above500℃, temperature is the most important factor for the oxidation of Ⅴ. At 700~1000℃, 92% of Ⅴ in the coal has been oxidizedto Ⅴ(Ⅴ), at still higher temperature no more oxidation of Ⅴ takes place, an equilibrium being established. The roles of NaCl in therecovery of V2O5 from the coal were discussed. 16Evaluation of regeneration potential of Pinus koraiensis in mixed pine-hardwood forests in the Xiao Xing'an Mountains,China显示文摘Large scale harvest of Korean pine(Pinus koraiensis) seeds as a food product in the mixed Korean pine-hardwood forest of northeastern China poses a serious threat to the sustainability and restoration of this endangered regional ecosystem.Seed collection over past decades greatly reduced the seed bank and subsequent seedling and sapling recruitment,and impacting a wide array of granivorous animals that rely on the pine seeds.We surveyed Korean pine seeds,including solid seeds(SS),insect consumed seeds(ICS) and other(animal) consumed(OCS) kernels,of the seed bank(forest floor and the top 10 cm of mineral soil),the seedlings and saplings from 1 m 2 sample plots in five forest types in Liangshui Nature Reserve(LNR) of the southern Xiao Xing'an Mountains in northeastern China to provide accurate information for assessing the Korean pine regeneration potential.The average number of pine seeds in the seed bank were 11.2 seeds/m 2,9.1 seeds/m 2,4.6 seeds/m 2,1.1 seeds/m 2,and 0.2 seeds/m 2 in Korean pine-basswood forest,mixed Korean pine-hardwood forest,mixed conifer-hardwood forest,white birch forests,and oak forests,respectively.In the first three forest types,percentages of SS(potentially viable seeds) were 11.2%,3.5% and 27.8%,respectively.The percentages of ICS(not viable seeds) were consistent at around 35%.The higher but variable percentages of OCS(not viable seeds) indicated high seed predation in these forests.Compared with other studies,we recorded higher percentages of seed damage,probably due to our survey approach and the increased depth of seed bank sampled in our study.Depletion of pine seeds in the seed bank greatly reduced seedling and sapling recruitment.Densities of pine seedlings varied from about 180 trees/ha in the mixed Korean pine-hardwood forest to about 5,400 trees/ha in the mixed conifer-hardwood forests and showed a high degree of spatial variation.Saplings were rare in the mixed Korean pine-hardwood forest,but ranged in the thousands in other forests.Large scale pine seed harvest has seriously threatened the sustainability of the mixed Korean pine-hardwood forest ecosystem.Scaling down the seed harvest or supplemental planting of pine saplings are urgently needed to maintain the health of the existing Korean pine forests and to restore this endangered ecosystem.LI Yun-bin MOU Pu WANG Tian-ming GE Jianping 2012Journal of Forestry Research2012,23,4:2
