| 1 | Effect of Sc and Zr additions on microstructures and corrosion behavior of Al-Cu-Mg-Sc-Zr alloys显示文摘The effects of adding the alloy element Sc to Al alloys on strengthening, recrystallization and modification of the grain microstructure have been investigated. The combination of Sc and Zr alloying not only produces a remarkable synergistic effect of inhibition of recrystallization and refinement of grain size but also substantially reduce the amount of high-cost additional Sc. In this work, the microstructures and corrosion behavior of a new type of Al-Cu-Mg-Sc-Zr alloy with Sc/Zr ratio of 1/2 were investigated.The experimental results showed that the Sc and Zr additions to Al-Cu-Mg alloy could strongly inhibit recrystallization, refine grain size, impede the segregation of Cu element along the grain boundary and increase the spacing of grain boundary precipitates. In addition, adding Sc and Zr to Al-Cu-Mg alloy effectively restricts the corrosion mechanism conversion associated with Al2 Cu Mg particles, which resulted in the change of the cross-section morphology of inter-granular corrosion from an undercutting to an elliptical shape. The susceptibility to inter-granular corrosion was significantly decreased with increasing Sc and Zr additions to the Al-Cu-Mg alloy. | 3 | Methane formation route in the conversion of methanol to hydrocarbons显示文摘The influence factors and paths of methane formation during methanol to hydrocarbons(MTH) reaction were studied experimentally and thermodynamically. The fixed-bed reaction results show that the formation of methane was favored by not only high temperature, but also high feed velocity, low pressure, as well as weak acid sites dominated on deactivated catalyst. The thermodynamic analysis results indicate that methane would be formed via the decomposition reactions of methanol and DME, and the hydrogenolysis reactions of methanol and DME. The decomposition reactions are thermal chemistry processes and easily occurred at high temperature. However, they are influenced by catalyst and reaction conditions through DME intermediate. By contrast, the hydrogenolysis reactions belong to catalytic processes. Parallel experiments suggest that, in real MTH reactions, the hydrogenolysis reactions should be mainly enabled by surface active H atom which might come from hydrogen transfer reactions such as aromatization. | 4 | Recursive formulations for the method of reverberation-ray matrix and the application显示文摘A recursive formulation is proposed for the method of reverberation-ray matrix (MRRM) to exactly analyze the free vibration of a multi-span continuous rectangular Kirchhoff plate, which has two oppo- site simply-supported edges. In contrast to the traditional MRRM, numerical stability is achieved by using the present new formulation for high-order frequencies or/and for plates with large span-to-width ratios. The heavy computational cost of storage and memory are also cut down. An improved recursive formulation is further proposed by modifying the iterative formula to reduce the matrix inversion op- erations. | 5 | Prion Protein Protects Cancer Cells against Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress Induced Apoptosis显示文摘Unfolded protein response(UPR) is an adaptive reaction for cells to reduce endoplasmic reticulum(ER) stress. In many types of cancers, such as lung cancer and pancreatic cancer, cancer cells may harness ER stress to facilitate their survival and growth. Prion protein(PrP) is a glycosylated cell surface protein that has been shown to be up-regulated in many cancer cells. Since PrP is a protein prone to misfolding, ER stress can result in under-glycosylated PrP, which in turn may activate ER stress. To assess whether ER stress leads to the production of under-glycosylated PrP and whether underglycosylated PrP may contribute to ER stress thus leading to cancer cell apoptosis, we treated different cancer cells with brefeldin A(BFA), thapsigargin(Thps), and tunicamycin(TM). We found that although BFA, Thps, and TM treatment activated UPR, only ATF4 was consistently activated by these reagents, but not other branches of ER stress. However, the canonical PERK-eIF2α-ATF4 did not account for the observed activation of ATF4 in lung cancer cells. In addition, BFA,but neither Thps nor TM, significantly stimulated the expression of cytosolic PrP. Finally, we found that the levels of PrP contributed to anti-apoptosis activity of BFA-induced cancer cell death. | 13 | Luteolin attenuates neuronal apoptosis in the hippocampi of diabetic encephalopathy rats显示文摘Luteolin (3',4',5,7-tetrahydroxyflavone) has powerful anti-apoptotic and antioxidant properties. This study aimed to investigate the effects of luteolin on hyperglycemia-mediated apoptosis in the hippocampi of rats with streptozotocin-induced diabetic encephalopathy after injection into the tail veins, and the molecular mechanisms involved. Biochemistry and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase mediated dUTP nick end labelling detection results showed that luteolin treatment (given twice daily for 15 days) significantly inhibited hyperglycemia-mediated apoptosis, decreased malondialdehyde levels and increased glutathione levels in the hippocampi of streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. Western blot analysis revealed that luteolin also inhibited the expression of apoptosis-related factors and cytochrome c release from mitochondria. Luteolin also improved the learning and memory abilities of rats with diabetic encephalopathy in a water maze test. Further western blot analysis revealed that luteolin treatment facilitated neuronal cell survival through activation of the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/Akt signaling pathway, an extracellular signal pathway involved in the suppression of cell apoptosis and promotion of cell survival. | 20 | Thin buffer layer assist carbon-modifying separator for long-life lithium metal anodes显示文摘The guided Li dendrite growth by carbon-modifying separator is believed to be an effective strategy for enhancing life of lithium metal batteries(LMBs).However,the weak adhesions,as well as the large interface impedance between the smooth separator and the carbon functional layer(CFL) lead to an easily peeling of the CFL after repetitive cycles.Herein,we propose a promising solution by an inserting thin buffer layer(TBL) to strengthen the adhesion between CFL and separator as a double modifying layer(C-TBL) of the LMBs separator,which greatly improves the stability of the CFL and provides an effective Li metal anode protection.Owing to the sufficient ionic conductivity,chemical stability and strong adhesion to the separator of the TBL,it can avoid the failure of the CFL functionality with small interface impedance.Moreover,the CFL effectively reduces localized flux of Li+ through its abundant pores.The Li/Li cell with C-TBL separator displays the Li dendrite-free and stable cycling performance for at least 1500 h.When LiFePO_(4)(LFP) is employed as the cathode electrode,the assembled full cell with C-TBL separator shows the excellent rate performance and outstanding cycling capability.Our study builds a stable Li+conducting 'bridge' between the functional layer and the separator in stabilizing Li metal anode,and provides a fresh idea of the artificial separator of LMBs. | Jiaqi Li Hongsheng Jia Haibo Li Xing Zhao Guiru Sun Zhiyong Chang Lei Li Ming Jin Zhao Wang Ming Feng | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,6: | 0 |
