2DNA image cytometry test for primary screening of esophageal cancer: a population-based multi-center study in high-risk areas in China显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the feasibility of DNA image cytometry(DNA-ICM) as a primary screening method for esophageal squamous cell cancer(ESCC).Methods: A total of 5,382 local residents aged 40–69 years from three high-risk areas in China(Linzhou in Henan province, Feicheng in Shandong province and Cixian in Hebei province) from 2008 to 2011 were recruited in this population-based screening study. And 2,526 subjects declined to receive endoscopic biopsy examination with Lugol's iodine staining, while 9 and 815 subjects were excluded from liquid-based cytology and DNA-ICM test respectively due to slide quality. Finally, 2,856, 5,373 and 4,567 subjects were enrolled in the analysis for endoscopic biopsy examination, liquid-based cytology and DNA-ICM test, respectively. Sensitivity(SE), specificity(SP), negative predictive values(NPV) and positive predictive values(PPV) as well as their 95% confidence intervals(95% CI) for DNA-ICM, liquid-based cytology and the combination of the two methods were calculated. Receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curves were applied to determine the cutoff point of DNA-ICM for esophageal cancer.Results: DNA-ICM results were significantly correlative with esophageal cancer and precancer lesions(χ~2=18.016, P<0.001). The cutoff points were 5,802, 5,803 and 8,002 based on dissimilar pathological types of low grade intraepithelial neoplasia(LGIN), high grade intraepithelial neoplasia(HGIN), and ESCC, respectively, and 5,803 was chosen in this study considering the SE and SP. The SE, SP, PPV, NPV of DNA-ICM test(cutoff point 5,803) combined with liquid-based cytology [threshold atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance(ASCUS)] were separately 72.1%(95% CI: 70.3%-73.9%), 43.3%(95% CI: 41.3%-45.3%), 22.8%(95% CI: 21.1%-24.5%) and 87.0%(95% CI: 85.7%-88.3%) for LGIN, 85.7%(95% CI: 84.3%-87.1%), 41.3%(95% CI: 39.3%-43.3%), 4.6%(95% CI: 3.8%-5.4%) and 98.9%(95% CI: 98.5%-99.3%) for HGIN, and 96.0%(95% CI: 95.2%-96.8%), 40.8%(95% CI: 38.8%-42.8%), 1.7%(95% CI: 1.2%-2.2%) and 99.9%(95% CI: 99.8%-100.0%) for ESCC.Conclusions: It is possible to use DNA-ICM test as a primary screening method before endoscopic screening for esophageal cancer.Meng Wang Changqing Hao Qing Ma Guohui Song Shanrui Ma Deli Zhao Lin Zhao Xinqing Li Wenqiang Wei 2016Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2016,28,4:15
3Outcomes in refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma:results fromamulticenter real-world study in China显示文摘Background:Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(DLBCL)patients refractory to rituximab-based immunochemotherapy have a dismal prognosis.However,the definition of refractory DLBCL remains inconsistent and no large cohort study data is available from Asian countries.To validate the definition and outcomes of refractory DLBCL in China,we conducted a multicenter,retrospective cohort study.Methods:The REtrospective AnaLysis of Treatment REspoNse of refractory DLBCL(REAL-TREND)study was performed using real-world data from 8 centers in China.DLBCL patients with curative intent were included in the REAL-TREND dataset.Overall survival(OS)was estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method and compared by the log-rank test.Due to heterogeneity in response rates among different centers,the response rates of refractory patients were pooled using random-effect models.Multivariate survival analysis was performed using the Cox regression model.Results:A total of 2778 DLBCL patients diagnosed between January,2010 and December,2015 were enrolled to this study.After validating previous definitions,the SCHOLAR-1 study was most suitable to define refractory DLBCL.The estimated 5-year cumulative incidence of refractory patients was 20%(95% confidence Interval[CI]=18%-22%).After the determination of refractory disease,overall response rate and complete remission rate were 30%(95%CI=22%-38%)and 9%(95%CI=4%-15%),respectively.Patients with either no response to immunochemotherapy or relapse within 12 months after stem-cell transplantation had inferior survival with a median OS of 5.9 months(95%CI=5.5-7.1 months)and 2-year OS rate of 16%(95%CI=12%-20%).International prognostic index score 4-5(hazard ratio[HR]=2.22;95%CI=1.47-3.35),central nervous systemrelapse(HR=1.43;95%CI=1.04-1.97),and best response status(HR=2.68;95%CI=1.42-5.03 for partial remission.HR=5.97,95%CI=3.21-11.11 for stable disease/progressive disease)were independent unfavorable prognostic factors.Conclusions:This is the first large-scale Asian cohort study focusing on outcomes of refractory DLBCL.The definition of the SCHOLAR-1 study identifies patients with homogenously inferior survival,thus is appropriate to select refractory DLBCL.Due to poor clinical outcomes in the rituximab era,patients with refractory DLBCL may be potential candidates for novel treatment modalities.Shuo Wang Li Wang Jianda Hu Wenbin Qian Xi Zhang Yu Hu Qi Zhu Bobin Chen Depei Wu Chung-Chou H.Chang Pengpeng Xu Xiaoyun Zheng Juying Wei Yao Liu Guohui Cui Yong Tang Yan Ma Haiwen Huang Hongmei Yi Weili Zhao 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,3:10
4Therapeutic evaluation of lumbar tender point deep massage for chronic non-specific low back pain显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To observe the therapeutic effect of lumbar tender point deep tissue massage plus lumbar traction on chronic non-specific low back pain using change in pressure pain threshold,muscle hardness and pain intensity as indices.METHODS:We randomly divided 64 patients into a treatment group(32 cases) and a control group(32 cases).Two drop-outs occurred in each group.Patients in the treatment group received tender point deep tissue massage plus lumbar traction and patients in the control group received lumbar traction,alone.We used a tissue hardness meter/algometer and visual analog scale(VAS) to assess the pressure pain threshold,muscle hardness and pain intensity.RESULTS:Following treatment,we obtained the following results in the treatment and control groups,respectively:the pressure pain threshold difference was 1.5±0.8 and 1.1±0.7;the muscle hardness difference was 4.2±1.6 and 3.5±1.3;and the VAS score difference was 1.9±0.9 and 1.4±0.8.Compared to the control group,the treatment group had higher pressure pain threshold(t=2.09,P<0.05),and lower muscle hardness(t=2.05,P<0.05) and pain intensity(t=2.46,P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Lumbar tender point deep tissue massage combined with lumbar traction produced better improvement in pressure pain threshold,muscle hardness and pain intensity in patients with chronic non-specific low back pain than with lumbar traction alone.Zhixin Zheng Jun Wang Qian Gao Jingshan Hou Ling Ma Congbo Jiang Guohui Chen 2012Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2012,32,4:10
5Prevalence and risk factors of HIV and syphilis,and knowledge and risk behaviors related to HIV/AIDS among men who have sex with men in Chongqing,China显示文摘High HIV prevalence and incidence burdens have been reported in men who have sex with men(MSM)in Chongqing,China.We aimed to estimate the prevalence of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections(STIs),to appraise the knowledge and risk behaviors related to HIV/AIDS among MSM,and to analyze the possible causes of deviation between behavior and knowledge to make better strategies.We recruited 617 MSM from February to July in 2008 by using a respondent-driven sampling(RDS) method in Chongqing,China.Through the collection of questionnaire-based data and biological testing results from all objects,we launched a crosssectional survey.STATA/SE was used for data analysis by frequency,ANOVA,rank sum test and logistic regression models.MSM with syphilis(OR=4.16,95%CI:2.35-7.33,P<0.0001) were more likely to be HIV infected.Being a company employee(OR=3.64,95%CI:1.22-10.08,P<0.0001) and having bought male for sex(OR=3.52,95%CI:1.10-11.32,P<0.034) were associated with a higher probability of syphilis.MSM with younger age,higher education and greater monthly income had a higher mean knowledge score.MSM who had HIV testing had a higher mean knowledge score than those who never had.Students,venues for finding sex partners by Internet and homosexuals in MSM had a higher mean knowledge score compared to other occupations,venues for finding sex partners and sexual orientation.There is an urgent need for delivery of barrier and biomedical interventions with coordinated behavioral and structural strategies to improve the effect of HIV interventions among MSM.Wenzhe Ma Guohui Wu Hui Zheng Wenjuan Zhang Zhihang Peng Rongbin Yu NingWang 2016The Journal of Biomedical Research2016,30,2:9
6Adaptive Proportional-Derivative Sliding Mode Control Law With Improved Transient Performance for Underactuated Overhead Crane Systems显示文摘In this paper, an adaptive proportional-derivative sliding mode control(APD-SMC) law, is proposed for 2D underactuated overhead crane systems. The proposed controller has the advantages of simple structure, easy to implement of PD control, strong robustness of SMC with respect to external disturbances and uncertain system parameters, and adaptation for unknown system dynamics associated with the feedforward parts. In the proposed APD-SMC law, the PD control part is used to stabilize the controlled system, the SMC part is used to compensate the external disturbances and system uncertainties,and the adaptive control part is utilized to estimate the unknown system parameters. The coupling behavior between the trolley movement and the payload swing is enhanced and, therefore, the transient performance of the proposed controller is improved.The Lyapunov techniques and the La Salle's invariance theorem are employed in to support the theoretical derivations. 7Recent advances in anisotropic two-dimensional materials and device applications显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D)materials,such as transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs),black phosphorus(BP),MXene and borophene,have aroused extensive attention since the discovery of graphene in 2004.They have wide range of applications in many research fields,such as optoelectronic devices,energy storage,catalysis,owing to their striking physical and chemical properties.Among them,anisotropic 2D material is one kind of 2D materials that possess different properties along different directions caused by the intrinsic anisotropic atoms5 arrangement of the 2D materials,mainly including BP,borophene,low-symmetry TMDs(ReSe2 and ReSa)and group IV monochalcogenides(SnS,SnSe,GeS,and GeSe).Recently,a series of new devices has been fabricated based on these anisotropic 2D materials.In this review,we start from a brief introduction of the classifications,crystal structures,preparation techniques,stability,as well as the strategy to discriminate the anisotropic characteristics of 2D materials.Then,the recent advanced applications including electronic devices,optoelectronic devices,thermoelectric devices and nanomechanical devices based on the anisotropic 2D materials both in experiment and theory have been summarized.Finally,the current challenges and prospects in device designs,integration,mechanical analysis,and micro-/nano-fabrication techniques related to anisotropic 2D materials have been discussed.This review is aimed to give a generalized knowledge of anisotropic 2D materials and their current devices applications,and thus inspiring the exploration and development of other kinds of new anisotropic 2D materials and various novel device applications.Jinlai Zhao Dingtao Ma Cong Wang Zhinan Guo Bin Zhang Jianqing Li Guohui Nie Ni Xie Han Zhang 2021Nano Research2021,14,4:4
8Rapid growth of a large-scale(600 mm aperture) KDP crystal and its optical quality显示文摘Potassium dihydrogen phosphate(KDP) single crystals are the only nonlinear crystals currently used for electro-optic switches and frequency converters in inertial confinement fusion research, due to their large dimension and exclusive physical properties. Based on the traditional solution-growth process, large bulk KDP crystals, usually with sizes up to600 × 600 mm2 so as to make a frequency doubler for the facility requirement loading highly flux of power laser, can be grown in standard Holden-type crystallizers, without spontaneous nucleation and visible defects, one to two orders of magnitude faster than by conventional methods. Pure water and KDP raw material with a few ion impurities such as Fe,Cr, and Al(less than 0.1 ppm) were used. The rapid-growth method includes extreme conditions such as temperature range from 60 to 35℃ , overcooling up to 5℃ , growth rates exceeding 10 mm/day, and crystal size up to 600 mm. The optical parameters of KDP crystals were determined. 12Genes in the serotonin pathway are associated with bipolar affective disorder in a Han Chinese population显示文摘Serotonin plays an important role in mood regulation, but the involvement of serotonin pathway genes in the development of bipolar I disorder (BP-I), a mood disorder, is not clear. We selected 21 singlenucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) within the HTR2A gene, 8 within the SLC6A4 gene and 23 within the TPH2 gene for genotyping using the GoldenGate genotyping assay. A total of 375 patients with BP-I and 475 normal controls were recruited. Two out of 21 SNPs (rs1475196 and rs9567747) in the HTR2A gene and 1/23 SNPs (rs17110566) in the TPH2 gene were significantly associated with BP-I, both genotype-wise and allele-wise. Furthermore, a specific haplotype in the HTR2A gene showed a significant association with BP-I. 14B cell-derived anti-beta 2 glycoprotein I antibody mediates hyperhomocysteinemia-aggravated hypertensive glomerular lesions by triggering ferroptosis显示文摘Hyperhomocysteinemia(HHcy)is a risk factor for chronic kidney diseases(CKDs)that affects about 85%CKD patients.HHcy stimulates B cells to secrete pathological antibodies,although it is unknown whether this pathway mediates kidney injury.In HHcytreated 2-kidney,1-clip(2K1C)hypertensive murine model,HHcy-activated B cells secreted anti-beta 2 glycoprotein I(β2GPI)antibodies that deposited in glomerular endothelial cells(GECs),exacerbating glomerulosclerosis and reducing renal function.Mechanistically,HHcy 2K1C mice increased phosphatidylethanolamine(PE)(18:0/20:4,18:0/22:6,16:0/20:4)in kidney tissue,as determined by lipidomics.GECs oxidative lipidomics validated the increase of oxidized phospholipids upon Hcy-activated B cells culture medium(Hcy-B CM)treatment,including PE(18:0/20:4+3[O],PE(18:0a/22:4+1[O],PE(18:0/22:4+2[O]and PE(18:0/22:4+3[O]).PE synthases ethanolamine kinase 2(etnk2)and ethanolamine-phosphate cytidylyltransferase 2(pcyt2)were increased in the kidney GECs of HHcy 2K1C mice and facilitated polyunsaturated PE synthesis to act as lipid peroxidation substrates.In HHcy 2K1C mice and Hcy-B CM-treated GECs,the oxidative environment induced by iron accumulation and the insufficient clearance of lipid peroxides caused by transferrin receptor(TFR)elevation and down-regulation of SLC7A11/glutathione peroxidase 4(GPX4)contributed to GECs ferroptosis of the kidneys.In vivo,pharmacological depletion of B cells or inhibition of ferroptosis mitigated the HHcy-aggravated hypertensive renal injury.Consequently,our findings uncovered a novel mechanism by which B cell-derived pathogenic anti-β2GPI IgG generated by HHcy exacerbated hypertensive kidney damage by inducing GECs ferroptosis.Targeting B cells or ferroptosis may be viable therapeutic strategies for ameliorating lipid peroxidative renal injury in HHcy patients with hypertensive nephropathy.Xing Du Xiaolong Ma Ying Tan Fangyu Shao Chun Li Yang Zhao Yutong Miao Lulu Han Guohui Dang Yuwei Song Dongmin Yang Zhenling Deng Yue Wang Changtao Jiang Wei Kong Juan Feng Xian Wang 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,4:2

19Tuning the crystallite size of monoclinic ZrO_(2) to reveal critical roles of surface defects on m–ZrO_(2) catalyst for direct synthesis of isobutene from syngas显示文摘The effects of crystallite size on the physicochemical properties and surface defects of pure monoclinic ZrO_(2) catalysts for isobutene synthesis were studied.We prepared a series of monoclinic ZrO_(2) catalysts with different crystallite size by changing calcination temperature and evaluated their catalytic performance for isobutene synthesis from syngas.ZrO_(2) with small crystalline size showed higher CO conversion and isobutene selectivity,while samples with large crystalline size preferred to form dimethyl ether(DME)instead of hydrocarbons,much less to isobutene.Oxygen defects(ODefects)analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)provided evidence that more ODefectsoccupied on the surface of ZrO_(2) catalysts with smaller crystalline size.Electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)and ultraviolet–visible diffuse reflectance(UV–vis DRS)confirmed the presence of high concentration of surface defects and Zr3+on mZrO_(2)-5.9 sample,respectively.In situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy(in situ DRIFTS)analysis indicated that the adsorption strength of formed formate species on catalyst reduced as the crystalline size decreased.These results suggested that surface defects were responsible for CO activation and further influenced the adsorption strength of surface species,and thus the products distribution changed.This study provides an in-depth insight for active sites regulation of ZrO_(2) catalyst in CO hydrogenation reaction.Xuemei Wu Minghui Tan Bing Xu Shengying Zhao Qingxiang Ma Yingluo He Chunyang Zeng Guohui Yang Noritatsu Tsubaki Yisheng Tan 2021Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,7:1
