1Cardamonin from a medicinal herb protects against LPS-induced septic shock by suppressing NLRP3 inflammasome显示文摘Aberrant activation of NLRP3 inflammasome has been implicated in the pathogenesis of diverse inflammation-related diseases, and pharmacological molecules targeting NLRP3 inflammasome are of considerable value to identifying potential therapeutic interventions. Cardamonin(CDN), the major active ingredient of the traditional Chinese medicinal herb Alpinia katsumadai, has exerted an excellent anti-inflammatory activity, but the mechanism underlying this role is not fully understood. Here, we show that CDN blocks canonical and noncanonical NLRP3 inflammasome activation triggered by multiple stimuli. Moreover, the suppression of CDN on inflammasome activation is specific to NLRP3, not to NLRC4 or AIM2 inflammasome. Besides, the inhibitory effect is not dependent on the expression of NF-κB-mediated inflammasome precursor proteins. We also demonstrate that CDN suppresses the NLRP3 inflammasome through blocking ASC oligomerization and speckle formation in a dose-dependent manner.Importantly, CDN improves the survival of mice suffering from lethal septic shock and attenuates IL-1βproduction induced by LPS in vivo, which is shown to be NLRP3 dependent. 2Bavachin enhances NLRP3 inflammasome activation induced by ATP or nigericin and causes idiosyncratic hepatotoxicity显示文摘Psoraleae Fructus(PF)is a well-known traditional herbal medicine in China,and it is widely used for osteoporosis,vitiligo,and other diseases in clinical settings.However,liver injury caused by PF and its preparations has been frequently reported in recent years.Our previous studies have demonstrated that PF could cause idiosyncratic drug-induced liver injury(IDILI),but the mechanism underlying its hepatotoxicity remains unclear.This paper reports that bavachin isolated from PF enhances the specific stimuli-induced activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome and leads to hepatotoxicity.Bavachin boosts the secretion of IL-ip and caspase-1 caused by ATP or nigericin but not those induced by poly(I:C),monosodium urate crystal,or intracellular lipopolysaccharide.Bavachin does not affect AIM2 or NLRC4 inflammasome activation.Mechanistically,bavachin specifically increases the production of nigericin-induced mitochondrial reactive oxygen species among the most important upstream events in the activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome.Bavachin increases the levels of aspartate transaminase and alanine aminotransferase in serum and hepatocyte injury accompanied by the secretion of IL-ip via a mouse model of lipopolysaccharide-mediated susceptibility to IDILI.These results suggest that bavachin specifically enhances the ATP-or nigericin-induced activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome.Bavachin also potentially contributes to PF-induced idiosyncratic hepatotoxicity.Moreover,bavachin and PF should be evaded among patients with diseases linked to the ATP-or nigericin-mediated activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome,which may be a dangerous factor for liver injury.Nan Qin Guang Xu Yan Wang Xiaoyan Zhan Yuan Gao Zhilei Wang Shubin Fu Wei Shi Xiaorong Hou Chunyu Wang Ruisheng Li Yan Liu Jiabo Wang Haiping Zhao Xiaohe Xiao Zhaofang Bai 2021Frontiers of Medicine2021,15,4:9
3A high precision time-to-digital converter based on multi-phase clock implemented within Field-Programmable-Gate-Array显示文摘In this paper, the design of a coarse-fine interpolation Time-to-Digital Converter (TDC) is implemented in an ALTERA’s Cyclone FPGA. The carry-select chain performs as the tapped delay line. The Logic Array Block (LAB) having a propagation delay of 165 ps in the chain is synthesized as delay cell. Coarse counters triggered by the global clock count the more significant bits of the time data. This clock is also fed through the delay line, and LABs create the copies. The replicas are latched by the tested event signal, and the less significant bits are encoded from the latched binary bits. Single-shot resolution of the TDC can be 60 ps. The worst Differential Nonlinearity (DNL) is about 0.2 Least Significant Bit (LSB, 165 ps in this TDC module), and the Integral Nonlinearity (INL) is 0.6 LSB. 4Nanotechnology-based strategies for treatment of ocular disease显示文摘Ocular diseases include various anterior and posterior segment diseases. Due to the unique anatomy and physiology of the eye, efficient ocular drug delivery is a great challenge to researchers and pharmacologists. Although there are conventional noninvasive and invasive treatments, such as eye drops,injections and implants, the current treatments either suffer from low bioavailability or severe adverse ocular effects. Alternatively, the emerging nanoscience and nanotechnology are playing an important role in the development of novel strategies for ocular disease therapy. Various active molecules have been designed to associate with nanocarriers to overcome ocular barriers and intimately interact with specific ocular tissues. In this review, we highlight the recent attempts of nanotechnology-based systems for imaging and treating ocular diseases, such as corneal d iseases, glaucoma, retina diseases, and choroid diseases. 5A low dead time vernier delay line TDC implemented in an actel flash-based FPGA显示文摘In this paper,a high precision vernier delay line(VDL) TDC(Time-to-Digital Convertor) in an actel flash-based Field-Programmable-Gate-Arrays A3PE1500 is implemented,achieving a resolution of 16.4-ps root mean square value or 42-ps averaged bin size.The TDC has a dead time of about 200 ns while the dynamic range is 655.36 μs.The double delay lines method is employed to cut the dead time in half to improve its performance.As the bin size of the TDC is dependent on temperature,a compensation algorithm is adopted as temperature drift correction,and the TDC shows satisfying performance in a temperature range from –5℃ to +55℃.QIN Xi FENG Changqing ZHANG Deliang ZHAO Lei LIU Shubin AN Qi 2013Nuclear Science and Techniques2013,24,4:4
6Review of local mean decomposition and its application in fault diagnosis of rotating machinery显示文摘Rotating machinery is widely used in the industry.They are vulnerable to many kinds of damages especially for those working under tough and time-varying operation conditions.Early detection of these damages is important,otherwise,they may lead to large economic loss even a catastrophe.Many signal processing methods have been developed for fault diagnosis of the rotating machinery.Local mean decomposition(LMD)is an adaptive mode decomposition method that can decompose a complicated signal into a series of mono-components,namely product functions(PFs).In recent years,many researchers have adopted LMD in fault detection and diagnosis of rotating machines.We give a comprehensive review of LMD in fault detection and diagnosis of rotating machines.First,the LMD is described.The advantages,disadvantages and some improved LMD methods are presented.Then,a comprehensive review on applications of LMD in fault diagnosis of the rotating machinery is given.The review is divided into four parts:fault diagnosis of gears,fault diagnosis of rotors,fault diagnosis of bearings,and other LMD applications.In each of these four parts,a review is given to applications applying the LMD,improved LMD,and LMD-based combination methods,respectively.We give a summary of this review and some future potential topics at the end.LI Yongbo SI Shubin LIU Zhiliang LIANG Xihui 2019Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2019,30,4:4

8A time-over-threshold technique for PMT signals processing显示文摘A novel front-end circuit designed for PMT signals processing considering the solution of 'Time Walk' correction is discussed in this paper. We are trying to apply the TOT (Time over Threshold) technique to our research. Different from traditional ways, where amplitude is measured, time width is measured for slew correction here, which takes the advantage of TDC. Expensive fast ADCs are abandoned and the whole time measurement electronics design becomes more effective and economical. Test boards have been developed and a convenient method is introduced to evaluate our TOT technique. 9Generation of tooth-like structures from integration-free human urine induced pluripotent stem cells显示文摘Background:Tooth is vital not only for a good smile,but also good health.Yet,we lose tooth regularly due to accidents or diseases.An ideal solution to this problem is to regenerate tooth with patients’own cells.Here we describe the generation of tooth-like structures from integration-free human urine induced pluripotent stem cells(ifhU-iPSCs).Results:We first differentiated ifhU-iPSCs to epithelial sheets,which were then recombined with E14.5 mouse dental mesenchymes.Tooth-like structures were recovered from these recombinants in 3 weeks with success rate up to 30%for 8 different iPSC lines,comparable to H1 hESC.We further detected that ifhU-iPSC derived epithelial sheets differentiated into enamel-secreting ameloblasts in the tooth-like structures,possessing physical properties such as elastic modulus and hardness found in the regular human tooth.Conclusion:Our results demonstrate that ifhU-iPSCs can be used to regenerate patient specific dental tissues or even tooth for further drug screening or regenerative therapies.Jinglei Cai Yanmei Zhang Pengfei Liu Shubin Chen Xuan Wu Yuhua Sun Ang Li Ke Huang Rongping Luo Lihui Wang Ying Liu Ting Zhou Shicheng Wei Guangjin Pan Duanqing Pei 2013Cell Regeneration2013,2,1:4
10Characterizing optical dipole trap via fluorescence of trapped cesium atoms显示文摘Optical dipole trap (ODT) is becoming an important tool of manipulating neu- tral atoms. In this paper ODT is realized with a far-off resonant laser beam strongly fo- cused in the magneto-optical trap (MOT) of cesium atoms. The light shift is measured by simply monitoring the fluorescence of the atoms in the magneto-optical trap and the opti- cal dipole trap simultaneously. 11A beam position measurement system of fully digital signal processing at SSRF显示文摘This fully digital beam position measurement instrument is designed for beam position monitoring and machine research in Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility. The signals received from four position-sensitive detectors are narrow pulses with a repetition rate up to 499.654 MHz and a pulse width of around 100 ps, and their dynamic range could vary over more than 40 dB in machine research. By the employment of the under-sampling technique based on high-speed high-resolution A/D conversion, all the processing procedure is performed fully by the digital signal processing algorithms integrated in one single Field Programmable Gate Array. 12The clock system for LHAASO WCDA based on reduced White Rabbit显示文摘Due to the large scale of Water Cherenkov Detector Array in Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory, the frontend digitization is imperative.Thus a clock distribution system is desired,which broadcasts the synchronous clock signals with low jitter to the frontend electronics distributed in the field of 90 000 m^2.The White Rabbit protocol provides an option,which has been approved to achieve sub-ns accuracy and ps jitter in the synchronization of around 1 000 nodes in the order of 10 km.But the hierarchy of the original is too complex for Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory application.Thus we proposed a reduced scheme based on the White Rabbit protocol.The validation circuit shows that the clock skew due to the fiber length difference can be adjusted to less than 25 ps and the clock jitter is less than 62 ps.LI Cheng LIU Shubin SHANG Linfeng CAO Ping AN Qi 2012Nuclear Science and Techniques2012,23,4:3
13Identification of micro RNAs in six solanaceous plants and their potential link with phosphate and mycorrhizal signalings显示文摘To date, only a limited number of solanaceous miRNAs have been deposited in the miRNA database. Here,Rgenome-wide bioinformatic identification of miRNAs was performed in six solanaceous plants(potato, tomato, tobacco,eggplant, pepper, and petunia). A total of 2,239 miRNAs were identified following a range of criteria, of which 982 were from potato, 496 from tomato, 655 from tobacco, 46 from eggplant,45 were from pepper, and 15 from petunia. The sizes of miRNA families and miRNA precursor length differ in all the species.Accordingly, 620 targets were predicted, which could be functionally classified as transcription factors, metabolic enzymes, RNA and protein processing proteins, and other proteins for plant growth and development. We also showed evidence for miRNA clusters and sense and antisense miR NAs.Additionally, five Pi starvation- and one arbuscular mycorrhiza(AM)-related cis-elements were found widely distributed in the putative promoter regions of the miRNA genes. Selected miRNAs were classified into three groups based on the presence or absence of P1BS and MYCScis-elements, and their expression in response to Pi starvation and AM symbiosis was validated by quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR). 15Neural progenitor cells from human induced pluripotent stem cells generated less autogenous immune response显示文摘The breakthrough development of induced pluripotent stem cells(iPSCs)raises the prospect of patient-specific treatment for many diseases through the replacement of affected cells.However,whether iPSC-derived functional cell lineages generate a deleterious immune response upon auto-transplantation remains unclear.In this study,we differentiated five human iPSC lines from skin fibroblasts and urine cells into neural progenitor cells(NPCs)and analyzed their immunogenicity.Through co-culture with autogenous peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs),we showed that both somatic cells and iPSC-derived NPCs do not stimulate significant autogenous PBMC proliferation.However,a significant immune reaction was detected when these cells were co-cultured with allogenous PBMCs.Furthermore,no significant expression of perforin or granzyme B was detected following stimulation of autogenous immune effector cells(CD3+CD8 T cells,CD3+CD8+T cells or CD3 CD56+NK cells)by NPCs in both PBMC and T cell co-culture systems.These results suggest that human iPSC-derived NPCs may not initiate an immune response in autogenous transplants,and thus set a base for further preclinical evaluation of human iPSCs.HUANG Ke LIU PengFei LI Xiang CHEN ShuBin WANG LiHui QIN Li SU ZhengHui HUANG WenHao LIU JuLi JIA Bei LIU Jie CAI JingLei PEI DuanQing PAN GuangJin 2014Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,2:3

18Boron-doping induced lithophilic transition of graphene for dendrite-free lithium growth显示文摘Li metal,possessing advantages of high theoretical specific capacity and low electrochemical potential,is regarded as the most promising anode material for next-generation batteries.However,despite decades of intensive research,its practical application is still hindered by safety hazard and low Coulombic efficiency,which is primarily caused by dendritic Li deposition.To address this issue,restraining dendrite growth at the nucleation stage is deemed as the most effective method.By utilizing the difference of electronegativity between boron atoms and carbon atoms,carbon atoms around boron atoms in boron-doped graphene(BG)turn into lithiophilic sites,which can enhance the adsorption capacity to Li^(+)at the nucleation stage.Consequently,an ultralow overpotential of 10 mV at a current density of 0.5 mA/cm^(2) and a high average Coulombic efficiency of 98.54%over more than 140 cycles with an areal capacity of 2 mAh/cm^(2) at a current density of 1 m A/cm^(2) were achieved.BG-Li|LiFePO_(4) full cells delivered a long lifespan of480 cycles at 0.5 C and excellent rate capability.This work provides a novel method for rational design of dendrite-free Li metal batteries by regulating nucleation process.Wei Liu Pengbo Zhai Shengjian Qin Jing Xiao Yi Wei Weiwei Yang Shiqiang Cui Qian Chen Chunqiao Jin Shubin Yang Yongji Gong 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,5:2
