Stability improvement under high efficiency—next stage development of perovskite solar cells显示文摘With efficiency of perovskite solar cells(PSCs) overpassing 23%, to realize their commercialization, the biggest challenge now is to boost the stability to the same level as conventional solar cells. Thus, tremendous effort has been directed over the past few years toward improving the stability of these cells. Various methods were used to improve the stability of bulk perovskites, including compositional engineering, interface adjustment, dimensional manipulation, crystal engineering, and grain boundary decoration. Diverse device configurations, carrier transporting layers, and counter electrodes are investigated. To compare the stability of PSCs and clarify the degradation mechanism, diverse characterization methods were developed. Overall stability of PSCs has become one central topic for the development of PSCs. In this review, we summarize the state-of-the-art progress on the improvement of device stability and discuss the directions for future research, hoping it provides an overview of the current status of the research on the stability of PSCs and guidelines for future research. | Danni Yu Yue Hu Jiangjian Shi Haoying Tang Wenhao Zhang Qingbo Meng Hongwei Han Zhijun Ning He Tian | 2019 | Science China Chemistry2019,62,6: | 7
Modulating the photoelectrons of g-C3N4 via coupling MgTi2O5 as appropriate platform for visible-light-driven photocatalytic solar energy conversion显示文摘Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) has become an attractive visible-light-responsive photocatalyst because of its semiconductor polymer compositions and easy-modulated band structure. However, the bulk g-C3N4 photocatalyst has the low separation efficiency of photogenerated carriers and unsatisfied surface catalytic performance, which leads to poor photocatalytic performance. As for this, MgTi2O5 with high chemical stability, wide band gap and negative conduction band was used as a suitable platform for coupling with g-C3N4 to enhance charge separation and promoted the photoactivity. Different from common approaches, here, we propose an innovative method to construct g-C3N4/MgTi2O5 nanocomposites featuring “0 + 1 >1' magnification effect to improve g-C3N4 photocatalytic performance under visible light irradiation. Additionally, compositing metal oxides of MgTi2O5 with g-C3N4 has proven to be a proper strategy to accelerate surface catalytic reactions in g-C3N4, and the photoinduced carriers were modulated to maintain thermodynamic equilibrium, which convincingly promotes the photocatalytic activity. The photocatalytic performance of the nanocomposites was measured by hydrogen production and CO2 reduction under visible light. The developed g-C3N4/MgTi2O5 nanocomposites with a 5 wt.% MgTi2O5 exhibits the highest H2 and CO yield under visible light and excellent stability compare to the other MgTi2O5 contents in composites. According to surface photo-voltage spectra, electrochemical CO2 reduction, photoluminescence, etc. The superior performance can be related to an enhanced electron lifetime, the promoted charge transfer and the increased electronic separation property of g-C3N4. Our work provides an approach to overcome the defect of pure g-C3N4, which accesses to composite with the second component matched well. | Jiaxin Shen Yanzhen Li Haoying Zhao Kai Pan Xue Li Yang Qu Guofeng Wang Dingsheng Wang | 2019 | Nano Research2019,12,8: | 6
Mesenchymal stem cell treatment improves outcome of COVID-19 patients via multiple immunomodulatory mechanisms显示文摘The infusion of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)patients with mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)potentially improves clinical symptoms, but the underlying mechanism remains unclear. We conducted a randomized,single-blind,placebo-controlled(29 patients/group)phase II clinical trial to validate previous findings and explore the potential mechanisms.Patients treated with umbilical cord-derived MSCs exhibited a shorter hospital stay(P=0.0198)and less time required for symptoms remission(P=0.0194)than those who received placebo.Based on chest images, both severe and critical patients treated with MSCs showed improvement by day 7(P=0.0099)and day 21(P=0.0084).MSC-treated patients had fewer adverse events.MSC infusion reduced the levels of C-reactive protein, proinflammatory cytokines, and neutrophil extracellular traps(NETs)and promoted the maintenance of SARS-CoV-2-specific antibodies. To explore how MSCs modulate the immune system,we employed single-cell RNA sequencing analysis on peripheral blood. Our analysis identified a novel subpopulation of VNN2+hematopoietic stem/progenitorlike(HSPC-like)cells expressing CSF3R and PTPRE that were mobilized following MSC infusion.Genes encoding chemotaxis factors—CX3CR1 and L-selectin—were upregulated in various immune cells.MSC treatment also regulated B cell subsets and increased the expression of costimulatory CD28 in T cells in vivo and in vitro. In addition,an in vivo mouse study confirmed that MSCs suppressed NET release and reduced venous thrombosis by upregulating kindlin-3 signaling.Together, our results underscore the role of MSCs in improving COVID-19 patient outcomes via maintenance of immune homeostasis. | Rongjia Zhu Tingdong Yan Yingmei Feng Yan Liu Hongcui Cao Gongxin Peng Yanlei Yang Zhen Xu Jingqi Liu Wei Hou Xiaoyue Wang Zhe Li Luchan Deng Shihua Wang Jing Li Qin Han Hongling Li Guangliang Shan Yinghao Cao Xingyan An Jianshe Yan Zhonghui Zhang Huafei Li Xuebin Qu Jiaqi Zhu Shumin Zhou Jiao Wang Fengchun Zhang Jinming Gao Ronghua Jin Dayong Xu Yan-Qing Ma Tao Huang Shuang Peng Zhi Zheng Ilia Stambler Eric Gilson Lee Wei Lim Alexey Moskalev Antonio Cano Sasanka Chakrabarti Brun Ulfhake Huanxing Su Haoying Xu Sihuan Xu Feng Wei Holly MBrown-Borg Kyung-Jin Min Georgina Ellison-Hughes Calogero Caruso Kunlin Jin Robert Chunhua Zhao | 2021 | Cell Research2021,31,12: | 5
Cloning and characterization of a mouse liver-specific gene mfrep-1,up-regulated in liver regeneration显示文摘Human fibrinogen-related protein-1/liver fibrinogen-related protein-1 (HFREP-1/LFIRE-1), a liver-specificprotein, is a member of fibrinogen superfamily that exerts various biological activities. However, the func-tion of HFREP-1/LFIRE-1 in liver remains unknown. Here we isolated its mouse ortholog gene-mousefibrinogen-related protein-1 (mfrep-1), which encoded 314 amino acids, exhibiting 80.4% similarity toHFREP-1/LFIRE-1. Northern blot analysis revealed that 1.2-kb mfrep-1 mRNA was detected selectivelyin mouse liver. To explore the function of MFREP-1, we examined the levels of mfrep-1 mRNA duringregeneration after 70% partial hepatectomy (PHx) in mice. mfrep-1 mRNA increased in the regeneratingliver and reached the first shoulder peak at 2-4 h after PHx. Cycloheximide pretreatment could suppress theinduction of mfrep-1, indicating the up-regulation of this gene need de novo protein synthesis. Its mRNAcontinued to elevate at 6 h thereafter and reached the second peak at 24 h. The enhanced expression ofmfrep-1 maintained high until 72 h and then declined slowly to the basal level. Immunohistochemistryassessment confirmed the up-regulated expression of MFREP-1 protein in parenchymal cells during liverregeneration. These data suggested that MFREP-1 might play an important role in liver regeneration andbe involved in the regulation of cell growth. | JUNYAN HAOYING FEIGU JINHE YuLILI HuIMINLIU YONGHUAXU | 2002 | Cell Research2002,12,5: | 5
Supersaturation controlled growth of MAFAPbI3 perovskite film for high efficiency solar cells显示文摘Controlling the nucleation and growth of organic-inorganic hybrids perovskite is of key importance to improve the morphology and crystallinity of perovskite films. However, the growth mechanism of perovskite films based on classical crystallization theory is not fully understood. Here, we develop a supersaturation controlled strategy(SCS) to balance the nucleation and crystal growth speeds. By this strategy, we are able to find an ideal supersaturation region to realize a balance of nucleation and crystal growth, which yields highly crystallized perovskite films with micrometer-scale grains. Besides, we provide a thoughtful analysis of nucleation and growth based on the fabrication of the perovskite films. As a result, the highest photovoltaic power conversion efficiencies(PCE) of 19.70% and 20.31% are obtained for the planar and the meso-superstructured devices, respectively. This strategy sheds some light for understanding the film growth mechanism of high quality perovskite film, and it provides a facile strategy to fabricate high efficiency perovskite solar cells. | Dong Liu Wenjia Zhou Haoying Tang Pengfei Fu Zhijun Ning | 2018 | Science China Chemistry2018,61,10: | 4

Radical induced quartet photosensitizers with high ^(1)O_(2) production for in vivo cancer photodynamic therapy显示文摘Singlet oxygen(^(1)O_(2)) is a strong oxidant which plays important roles in photodynamic therapy(PDT). The exploitation of photosensitizers with high ^(1)O_(2) production is crucial to improve PDT efficiency. In this study, a radical labeled quartet photosensitizer Cy-DENT is reported with high singlet oxygen quantum yield(Φ_(Δ)=32.3%) due to a radical enhanced inter-system crossing(ISC) process. After the introduction of 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidinyloxy(TEMPO) radical, quartet state ^(4)[R,T] of CyDENT could be formed to give an over 20-fold enhancement of singlet oxygen quantum yield compared to Cy-DEN(without TEMPO radical) under irradiation of near infrared(NIR) light. In addition, the ^(1)O_(2 )production is well controlled by varying the electron-donating ability of the terminal substituent group. Cy-DENT possesses good cell permeability and is localized in mitochondria. Under the irradiation of 700 nm light, Cy-DENT can produce high levels of ROS to destroy the mitochondria membrane potential and induce cell apoptosis. Through the encapsulation of PEG-SS-PCL micelle, Cy-DENT can be effectively delivered to tumors and suppresses the tumor growth after PDT treatment. | Feng Xu Haoying Ge Ning Xu Cheng Yang Qichao Yao Saran Long Wen Sun Jiangli Fan Xinsheng Xu Xiaojun Peng | 2021 | Science China Chemistry2021,64,3: | 2
