| 2 | Precision orchard sprayer based on automatically infrared target detecting and electrostatic spraying techniques显示文摘There is an urgent need for new chemical application techniques and sprayers in Chinese orchard spraying.A new tractor-mounted automatic target detecting electrostatics,and air-assisted orchard sprayer was designed and developed to meet the demand of chemical pest control in orchards.This sprayer light weighted,highly efficient,reduces pesticide use and is friendly to the environment.The techniques of automatic target detecting,electrostatics,and air-assisted spraying were combined in this system.The electrostatically charged droplets are projected toward the target by the assistance of an air stream that increases the droplets penetration within canopy.Experimental results show that the new automatic target detecting orchard sprayer with an infrared sensor can save more than 50%to 75%of pesticides,improve the utilization rate(over 55%),control efficiency,and significantly reduce environmental pollution caused by the pesticide application.At the same time the key technological problems related to air-assisted low volume and electrostatic spraying were solved. | He Xiongkui Zeng Aijun Liu Yajia Song Jianli | 2011 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2011,4,1: | 17 |
| 3 | MiR-30a Positively Regulates the Inflammatory Response of Microglia in Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis显示文摘Multiple sclerosis(MS) is a classical inflammatory demyelinating disease of the central nervous system(CNS). Microglia are the main resident immune cells in the CNS and are closely associated with the pathogenesis of MS.In the present study, we found that mi R-30 a was highly expressed in jellyfish-like microglia in chronic active lesions of MS patients, as well as in the microglia of mice with experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis(EAE) at the chronic phase. In vitro, the conditioned supernatant of mouse microglia overexpressing miR-30 a promoted the apoptosis of oligodendrocyte precursor cells(OPCs), and inhibited OPC differentiation. In vivo, overexpressing miR-30 a in transplanted microglia exacerbated the progression of EAE.Overexpression and knock-down experiments in primary cultured mouse microglia showed that mi R-30 a increased the expression of IL-1 b and i NOS, which are pro-inflammatory, while inhibiting the expression of Ym-1 and CD206.Mechanistically, mi R-30 a inhibited the expression of Ppargc1 b, which is the co-activator of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma, resulting in pro-inflammatory effects. | 5 | Single Pt atom decorated graphitic carbon nitride as an efficient photocatalyst for the hydrogenation of nitrobenzene into aniline显示文摘The hydrogenation of nitrobenzene into aniline is one of industrially important reactions, but still remains great challenge due to the lack of highly active, chemo-selective and eco-friendly catalyst. By using extensive density functional theory (DFT) calculations, herein we predict that single Pt atom decorated g-C3N4 (Pt@g-C3N4) exhibits excellent catalytic activity and selectivity for the conversion of nitrobenzene into aniline under visible light. The overall activation energy barrier for the hydrogenation of nitrobenzene on single atom Pt@g-C3N4 catalyst is even lower than that of the bare Pt(111) surface. The dissociation of N-0 bonds on single Pt atom is triggered by single hydrogen atom rather than double hydrogen atoms on the Pt(111) surface. Moreover, the Pt@g-C3N4 catalyst exhibits outstanding chemoselectivity towards the common reducible substituents, such as phenyl,-C=C,-C = C and -CHO groups during the hydrogenation. In addition, the doped single Pt atom can significantly enhance the photoconversion efficiency by broadening the light absorption of the pristine g-C3N4 to visible light region. | 6 | Design and experiment of variable rate orchard sprayer based on laser scanning sensor显示文摘During different growth periods,canopy size and density in orchards are variable,which need application conditions(flow rate and air flow)to be adjusted to match the canopy’s characteristics.In order to improve orchard sprayer’s automatic operating performance,an automatic variable-rate orchard sprayer(VARS)fixed with 40 electromagnetic valves and 8 brushless fans was developed based on the canopy’s spatial dimensions.Each solenoid valve and brushless motor can be individually adjusted in real-time through pulse width modulation(PWM)signals emitted by a control system to adjust each nozzle’s spout and fan rotation speed.A high-precision laser scanning sensor(light detecting and ranging,LIDAR)was adopted as the detector to measure the canopy volume using the variable rate algorithm principle.Field experiments were conducted in an apple orchard,and conventional air blast sprayer(CABS)and directed air-jet sprayer(DAJS)were tested as a comparison.Results showed that on average,46%less spraying solution was applied compared to conventional applications,while penetration rate was similar to DAJS.Normalized deposition in the canopy with variable application was higher than that of conventional applications,indicating that electronic sprayers are more efficient than conventional sprayers.It was also observed that VARS could significantly reduce off-target loss.The field experiment showed that the newly developed variable-rate sprayer can greatly reduce pesticide use and protect the environment for the orchard fruit production,and also provide a reference for design and performance optimization for plant protection machinery. | Longlong Li Xiongkui He Jianli Song Yajia Liu Aijun Zeng Liu Yang Chaohui Liu Zhixiong Liu | 2018 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,1: | 8 |
| 7 | Multifractal mass exponent spectrum of complex physiological time series显示文摘Physiological signal belongs to the kind of nonstationary and time-variant ones.Thus,the nonlinear analysis methods may be better to disclose its characteristics and mechanisms.There have been plenty of evidences that physiological signal generated by complex self-regulated system may have a fractal structure.In this work,we introduce a new measure to characterize multifractality,the mass exponent spectrum curvature,which can disclose the complexity of fractal structure from total bending degree of the spectrum.This parameter represents the nonlinear superpositions of the discrepancies of fractal dimension from all adjacent points in the curve and therefore solves the problem of original parameters for not fully reflecting the information of entire subsets in the fractal structure.The evaluations of deterministic fractal system Cantor measure validate that it is completely effective in exploring the complexity of chaotic series,and is also not affected by nonstability of the signal as well as disturbances of the noises.We then apply it to the analysis of human heart rate variability(HRV) signals and sleep electroencephalogram(EEG) signals.The experimental results show that this method can be better to discriminate cohorts under different physiological and pathological conditions.Compared with the indicator of singularity spectrum width,there are some improvements both on the computing efficiency and accuracy.Such conclusion may provide some valuable information for clinical diagnoses. | YANG XiaoDong HE AiJun ZHOU Yong NING XinBao | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,19: | 7 |
| 8 | Regional Characteristics and Causes of Haze Events in Northeast China显示文摘Northeast China experiences severe atmospheric pollution, with an increasing occurrence of heavy haze episodes. However, the underlying forces driving haze formation during different seasons are poorly understood. In this study, we explored the spatio-temporal characteristics and causes of haze events in Northeast China by combining a range of data sources(i.e., ground monitoring, satellite-based products, and meteorological products). It was found that the ‘Shenyang-Changchun-Harbin(SCH)'city belt was the most polluted area in the region on an annual scale. The spatial distribution of air quality index(AQI) values had a clear seasonality, with the worst pollution occurring in winter, an approximately oval-shaped polluted area around western Jilin Province in spring, and the best air quality occurring in summer and most of the autumn. The three periods that typically experienced intense haze events were Period I from mid-October to mid-November(i.e., late autumn and early winter), Period II from late-December to February(i.e., the coldest time in winter), and Period III from April to mid-May(i.e., spring). During Period I, strong PM_(2.5) emissions from seasonal crop residue burning and coal burning for winter heating were the dominant reasons for the occurrence of extreme haze events(AQI > 300). Period II had frequent heavy haze events(200 < AQI < 300) in the coldest months of January and February, which were due to high PM_(2.5) emissions from coal burning and vehicle fuel consumption, a lower atmospheric boundary layer, and stagnant atmospheric conditions. Haze events in Period III, with high PM_(10) concentrations, were primarily caused by the regional transportation of windblown dust from degraded grassland in central Inner Mongolia and bare soil in western Jilin Province. Local agricultural tilling could also release PM_(10) and enhance the levels of windblown dust from tilled soil. | 9 | Myt1L Promotes Differentiation of Oligodendrocyte Precursor Cells and is Necessary for Remyelination After Lysolecithin-Induced Demyelination显示文摘The differentiation and maturation of oligodendrocyte precursor cells(OPCs) is essential for myelination and remyelination in the CNS. The failure of OPCs to achieve terminal differentiation in demyelinating lesions often results in unsuccessful remyelination in a variety of human demyelinating diseases. However, the molecular mechanisms controlling OPC differentiation under pathological conditions remain largely unknown. Myt1 L(myelin transcription factor 1-like), mainly expressed in neurons,has been associated with intellectual disability, schizophrenia, and depression. In the present study, we found that Myt1 L was expressed in oligodendrocyte lineage cells during myelination and remyelination. The expression level of Myt1 L in neuron/glia antigen 2-positive(NG^(2+))OPCs was significantly higher than that in mature CC1^+ oligodendrocytes. In primary cultured OPCs,overexpression of Myt1 L promoted, while knockdown inhibited OPC differentiation. Moreover, Myt1 L was potently involved in promoting remyelination after lysolecithin-induced demyelination in vivo. Ch IP assays showed that Myt1 L bound to the promoter of Olig1 and transcriptionally regulated Olig1 expression. | 11 | Cyclin-dependent Kinase 18 Promotes Oligodendrocyte Precursor Cell Differentiation through Activating the Extracellular Signal-Regulated Kinase Signaling Pathway显示文摘The correct differentiation of oligodendrocyte precursor cells(OPCs) is essential for the myelination and remyelination processes in the central nervous system.Determining the regulatory mechanism is fundamental to the treatment of demyelinating diseases. By analyzing the RNA sequencing data of different neural cells, we found that cyclin-dependent kinase 18(CDK18) is exclusively expressed in oligodendrocytes. In vivo studies showed that the expression level of CDK18 gradually increased along with myelin formation during development and in the remyelination phase in a lysophosphatidylcholine-induced demyelination model, and was distinctively highly expressed in oligodendrocytes. In vitro overexpression and interference experiments revealed that CDK18 directly promotes the differentiation of OPCs, without affecting their proliferation or apoptosis. Mechanistically, CDK18 activated the RAS/mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase1/extracellular signal-regulated kinase pathway, thus promoting OPC differentiation. | 12 | Leaf-inspired design of mesoporous Sb_(2)S_(3)/N-doped Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) composite towards fast sodium storage显示文摘Owing to excellent conductivity and abundant surface terminals,MXene-based heterostructures have been intensively investigated as energy storage materials.However,elaborate design of the structure and composition of MXene-based hybrids towards superior electrochemical performance is still challenging.Herein,we present an ingenious leaf-inspired design for preparing a unique Sb_(2)S_(3)/nitrogen-doped Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)MXene(L-Sb_(2)S_(3)/Ti_(3)C_(2))hybrid.In-situ TEM observations reveal that the leaflike Sb_(2)S_(3)nanoparticles with numerous mesopores can well relieve the large volume changes via an inward pore filling mechanism with only 20%outward expansion,whereas highly conductive N-doped Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)nanosheets can serve as the robust mechanical support to reinforce the structural integrity of the hybrid.Benefiting from the structural and constituent merits,the L-Sb_(2)S_(3)/Ti_(3)C_(2)anode fabricated exhibits a fast sodium storage behavior in terms of outstanding rate capability(339.5 mA h g^(-1)at 2,000 mA g^(-1))and high reversible capacity at high current density(358.2 mA h g^(-1)at 1,000 mA g^(-1)after 100 cycles).Electrochemical kinetic tests and theoretical simulation further manifest that the boosted electrochemical performance mainly arises from such a unique leaf-like Sb_(2)S_(3)mesoporous nanostructure with abundant active sites,and enhanced Na^(+)adsorption energy on the heterojunction formed between Sb_(2)S_(3)nanoparticles and Ti_(3)C_2)matrix. | Fengyi He Cheng Tang Guanjia Zhu Yadong Liu Aijun Du Qiaobao Zhang Minghong Wu Haijiao Zhang | 2021 | Science China Chemistry2021,64,6: | 3 |
| 13 | Spray drift characteristics test of unmanned aerial vehicle spray unit under wind tunnel conditions显示文摘Since the 2010s,unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)sprayer was applied more and more widely for low-volume aerial pesticides spraying operations in China.However,droplets from the UAV sprayer have a higher drift risk due to more fine droplets sprayed and a higher flight height than ground sprayers.Study on UAV spray drift has been a new hot spot within the field of pesticide application technology.Most of previous studies used direct field methods for spray drift,but the meteorological conditions in field were unstable and uncontrollable,and drift research under an actual operation state in wind tunnel has not been reported.Therefore,25 treatments of wind tunnel measurements and droplets spectrum tests of 10 models of nozzles were conducted to explore the influence factor on spray drift characteristics of UAV chemicals application in this study.A spray unit with a rotor of UAV was innovatively installed in wind tunnel,and the airstream from the wind tunnel was regarded as the relative moving natural wind to simulate the flight status.The airborne and the sediment spray drift was measured to study the effects of the nozzle type and size(flat fan,hollow cone and air-inclusion nozzles),flight speed,adjuvant(DRS-60,Y-20079,MF and G-611)and meteorological parameters(20°C&40%,20°C&80%,30°C&40%and 30°C&60%).The drift potential(DP)and the drift potential reduction percentage(DPRP)in vertical and horizontal directions were obtained for each test.Both nozzle type and size had an impact on the spray drift potential obviously by affecting the droplet size and the ratio of fine droplets,and the regression linear models between DPRPV/DPRPH and DV50,V75 were established(R2=0.934/0.925).Flight speed also had a significant effect on the spray drift characteristics,and reducing the flight speed could increase the DP effectively.Adding spray adjuvants could affect the DP under experimental meteorological parameters,and the anti-drift performance ranked in the order of DRS-60>MF>Y-20079>G-611.Recommendations were proposed in order to reduce the spray drift for UAV sprayer’s operation.These findings can contribute to provide guidelines and technical support for the wind tunnel spray drift tests of UAV and the field operation regulation of unmanned aerial PPP application. | Changling Wang Aijun Zeng Xiongkui He Jianli Song Andreas Herbst Wanlin Gao | 2020 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2020,13,3: | 3 |
| 14 | Species richness and composition of shrub-encroached grasslands in relation to environmental factors in northern China显示文摘Aims Shrub encroachment has taken place in many of China’s northern grasslands.This study attempts to answer the following questions:which plant communities are present in these shrub-encroached grasslands(SEGs)?What are the species richness and composition of these communities?Which environmental factors determine the spatial distribution thereof?Methods We investigated the community characteristics of 255 SEG plots with a size of 20 m×20 m at 69 locations across grasslands in northern China.In each plot,paired 1-m^(2) quadrats were estab-lished within shrub patches and the neighbouring grassy matrix to record herb species composition.The quantitative character-istics(abundance,coverage and height)of herbs were meas-ured in 0.25-m2 subquadrats,and soil samples were collected in the quadrats.Two-way indicator species analysis(TWINSPAN),detrended canonical analysis(DCA)and canonical correspond-ence analysis(CCA)were used for community clustering and ordination.Important Findings The DCA and TWINSPAN results suggested that the SEGs in northern China can be divided into six community types:Potentilla fruticosa+Carex atrofusca,Spiraea hypericifolia+Festuca ovina,Caragana acanthophylla+Stipa sareptana,Caragana microphylla+Leymus chinensis,Caragana microphylla+Stipa klemenzii and Caragana tibetica+Cleistogenes songorica.At a regional scale,climate and soil nutrients controlled the spatial patterns of species richness and community composition of the SEGs in northern China.Temperature exerted a negative impact,whereas precipitation and nutrients had positive effects on species richness.Among the environmental factors used,climate was the major controller of the variations in commu-nity structure.These results provide new insights into the community composition of SEGs in China and enrich the global dataset of SEGs. | Luhong Zhou Haihua Shen Leiyi Chen He Li Pujin Zhang Xia Zhao Taoyu Liu Shangshi Liu Aijun Xing Huifeng Hu Jingyun Fang | 2019 | Journal of Plant Ecology2019,12,1: | 3 |

| 16 | Clonal isolation of endothelial colony-forming cells from early gestation chorionic villi of human placenta for fetal tissue regeneration显示文摘BACKGROUND Endothelial colony-forming cells(ECFCs)have been implicated in the process of vascularization,which includes vasculogenesis and angiogenesis.Vasculogenesis is a de novo formation of blood vessels,and is an essential physiological process that occurs during embryonic development and tissue regeneration.Angiogenesis is the growth of new capillaries from pre-existing blood vessels,which is observed both prenatally and postnatally.The placenta is an organ composed of a variety of fetal-derived cells,including ECFCs,and therefore has significant potential as a source of fetal ECFCs for tissue engineering.AIM To investigate the possibility of isolating clonal ECFCs from human early gestation chorionic villi(CV-ECFCs)of the placenta,and assess their potential for tissue engineering.METHODS The early gestation chorionic villus tissue was dissociated by enzyme digestion.Cells expressing CD31 were selected using magnetic-activated cell sorting,and plated in endothelial-specific growth medium.After 2-3 wks in culture,colonies displaying cobblestone-like morphology were manually picked using cloning cylinders.We characterized CV-ECFCs by flow cytometry,immunophenotyping,tube formation assay,and Dil-Ac-LDL uptake assay.Viral transduction of CVECFCs was performed using a Luciferase/tdTomato-containing lentiviral vector,and transduction efficiency was tested by fluorescent microscopy and flow cytometry.Compatibility of CV-ECFCs with a delivery vehicle was determined using an FDA approved,small intestinal submucosa extracellular matrix scaffold.RESULTS After four passages in 6-8 wks of culture,we obtained a total number of 1.8×107 CV-ECFCs using 100 mg of early gestational chorionic villus tissue.Immunophenotypic analyses by flow cytometry demonstrated that CV-ECFCs highly expressed the endothelial markers CD31,CD144,CD146,CD105,CD309,only partially expressed CD34,and did not express CD45 and CD90.CV-ECFCs were capable of acetylated low-density lipoprotein uptake and tube formation,similar to cord blood-derived ECFCs(CB-ECFCs).CV-ECFCs can be transduced with a Luciferase/tdTomato-containing lentiviral vector at a transduction efficiency of 85.1%.Seeding CV-ECFCs on a small intestinal submucosa extracellular matrix scaffold confirmed that CV-ECFCs were compatible with the biomaterial scaffold.CONCLUSION In summary,we established a magnetic sorting-assisted clonal isolation approach to derive CV-ECFCs.A substantial number of CV-ECFCs can be obtained within a short time frame,representing a promising novel source of ECFCs for fetal treatments. | Kewa Gao Siqi He Priyadarsini Kumar Diana Farmer Jianda Zhou Aijun Wang | 2020 | World Journal of Stem Cells2020,12,2: | 2 |
| 17 | Bioactive extracellular matrix scaffolds engineered with proangiogenic proteoglycan mimetics and loaded with endothelial progenitor cells promote neovascularization and diabetic wound healing显示文摘Diabetic ischemic wound treatment remains a critical clinical challenge.Neovascularization plays a significant role in wound healing during all stages of the tissue repair process.Strategies that enhance angiogenesis and neovascularization and improve ischemic pathology may promote the healing of poor wounds,particularly diabetic wounds in highly ischemic conditions.We previously identified a cyclic peptide LXW7 that specifically binds to integrinαvβ3 on endothelial progenitor cells(EPCs)and endothelial cells(ECs),activates vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)receptors,and promotes EC growth and maturation.In this study,we designed and synthesized a multi-functional pro-angiogenic molecule by grafting LXW7 and collagen-binding peptides(SILY)to a dermatan sulfate(DS)glycosaminoglycan backbone,named LXW7-DS-SILY,and further employed this multi-functional molecule to functionalize collagen-based extracellular matrix(ECM)scaffolds.We confirmed that LXW7-DS-SILY modification significantly promoted EPC attachment and growth on the ECM scaffolds in vitro and supported EPC survival in vivo in the ischemic environment.When applied in an established Zucker Diabetic Fatty(ZDF)rat ischemic skin flap model,LXW7-DS-SILY-functionalized ECM scaffolds loaded with EPCs significantly improved wound healing,enhanced neovascularization and modulated collagen fibrillogenesis in the ischemic environment.Altogether,this study provides a promising novel treatment to accelerate diabetic ischemic wound healing,thereby reducing limb amputation and mortality of diabetic patients. | Siqi He Tanaya Walimbe Hongyuan Chen Kewa Gao Priyadarsini Kumar Yifan Wei Dake Hao Ruiwu Liu Diana L.Farmer Kit S.Lam Jianda Zhou Alyssa Panitch Aijun Wang | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,4: | 2 |

[Method]In the cyanophyte enrichment area of northern Dianchi Lake,phytoplankton community,chlorophyll a,total nitrogen (TN) and total phosphorus (TP) concentration had been monitored monthly from January 2007 to December 2011,and the temporal and spatial variation of phytoplankton community and main pollution indicators were analyzed. [Result]From January 2007 to December 2011,algal diversity in the area increased slightly,and algal diversity in the alongshore region was less than that in the offshore region; chlorophyll a,TN and TP concentration decreased in the alongshore region,but it was otherwise in the offshore region; chlorophyll a,TN and TP concentration in the alongshore region were higher than those in the offshore region.
