1Special Section:SARS-CoV-2 Preliminary evidence from a multicenter prospective observational study of the safety and efficacy of chloroquine for the treatment of COVID-19显示文摘Effective therapies are urgently needed for the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.Chloroquine has been proved to have antiviral effect against coronavirus in vitro.In this study,we aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of chloroquine with different doses in COVID-19.In this multicenter prospective observational study,we enrolled patients older than 18 years old with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection excluding critical cases from 12 hospitals in Guangdong and Hubei Provinces.Eligible patients received chloroquinephosphate s00 mg,orally,once(half dose)or twice(full dose)daily.Patients treated with non-chloroquine therapy were included as historical controls.The primary endpoint is the time to undetectable viral RNA.Secondary outcomes include the proportion of patients with undetectable viral RNA by day 10 and 14,hospitalization time,duration of fever,and adverse events.A total of 197 patients completed chloroquine treatment,and 176patients were included as historical controls.The median time to achieve an undetectable viral RNA was shorter in chloroquine than in non-chloroquine(absolute difference in medians-6.0 days;95%CI-6.0 to—4.0).The duration of fever is shorter in chloroquine(geometric mean ratio 0.6;95%CIO.5 to 0.8).No serious adverse events were observed in the chloroquine group.Patients treated with half dose experienced lower rate of adverse events than with full dose.Although randomized trials are needed for further evaluation,this study provides evidence for safety and efficacy of chloroquine in COVID-19 and suggests that chloroquine can be a cost-effective therapy for combating the COVID-19 pandemic.Mingxing Huang Man Li Fei Xiao Pengfei Pang Jiabi Liang Tiantian Tang Shaoxuan Liu Binghui Chen Jingxian Shu Yingying You Yang Li Meiwen Tang Jianhui Zhou Guanmin Jiang Jingfen Xiang Wenxin Hong Songmei He Zhaoqin Wang Jianhua Feng Changqing Lin Yinong Ye Zhilong Wu Yaocai Li Bei Zhong Ruilin Sun Zhongsi Hong Jing Liu Huili Chen Xiaohua Wang Zhonghe Li Duanqing Pei Lin Tian Jinyu Xia Shanping Jiang Nanshan Zhong Hong Shan 2020National Science Review2020,7,9:20
2Developing Agroforestry in Slopelands to Combat Non-point Pollution in China显示文摘The status of agricultural non-point source (NPS) pollution in China is quite austere owing to lots of factors, the characteristics of which include severe N, P eutrophications in water bodies, unsuitable structure of agriculture and the lack of reasonable management. It was well known that forest could play an important role to control soil & water erosion, uptake extra soil nutrients as well. However forest coverage is rather low in the headwaters region. The research on the causes of NSP pollution and the significance by developing agroforestry to deal with the problem is presented in the paper, as well as the function of agroforestry and the related measures of pollution controlling, e.g., riparian forest buffer zones building. As a conclusion, controlling the loss of soil and water is regarded as an important crucial action and major research direction in the field. 3Effects of Different Electrolytes on Stress Corrosion Properties of 2A12 Aluminum Alloy显示文摘The stress corrosion cracking(SCC)behaviors of 2A12 aluminum alloy after annealing treatment were studied by slow strain rate testing(SSRT),electrochemical polarization measurement,scanning electron microscope(SEM),energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).Various concentrations of NaCl,H_(2)SO_(4)and HCl aqueous solution were prepared to act as the corrosive solution.The experimental results show that regarding the SCC,2A12 alloy performs best in NaCl solution but worst in HCl solution and intermediately between the above mentioned two cases in H_(2)SO_(4)solution.For the SSRT carried out in room temperature,there is a higher decrease in elongation without large strength loss for the alloy immersed in NaCl solution.With the test conducted in H_(2)SO_(4)solution,there is a higher strength loss and a relatively less loss of elongation compared to the one immersed in NaCl solution.With the test conducted in HCl solution,there is a relativel level loss of strength and elongation compared to either result carried out in NaCl solution or H_(2)SO_(4)solution.姜根 柏振海 LUO Binghui WANG Shuai HE Chuan 2021Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2021,36,3:3
4Root tensile strength of terrace hedgerow plants in the karst trough valleys of SW China:Relation with root morphology and fiber content显示文摘Root tensile strength is commonly affected by root morphology and fiber content,which combinedly affect the effectiveness of terrace hedgerow on controlling soil erosion in sloping farmland.However,the relationships between these root characteristics are still elusive.This study aimed to compare the root tensile strength,root morphologies,and root fiber contents,and quantify their differences among different plant species.Complete root systems of three terrace hedgerow plant species,i.e.,O.bodinieri,V.villosa,and D.lablab L.were sampled for detecting root morphologies and fiber contents at different slope positions on a representative hillslope in karst trough valley.Single root specimens were collected to measure root tensile properties for these three plant species.Results showed that most root morphological parameters were the highest in O.bodinieri,followed by D.lablab L.Three plant species presented the same dominant diameter class as<1.0 mm,and root volumes as<1.50 cm3.Cellulose with contents closing to 50%was the main fiber type,and increased significantly linearly with the increasing root diameter in both O.bodinieri and V.villosa.The highest tensile strength and Young's modulus were found in D.lablab L.,while the best ultimate tensile force and ultimate elongation were displayed in O.bodinieri.Root diameter showed negative power relationships with tensile strength and Young's modulus,a positive power relationship with ultimate tensile force,and a positive linear relationship with ultimate elongation.Our results will deepen the understanding of the terrace hedgerow functions for controlling soil erosion worldwide.Yun Chen Han Tang Binghui He Zhehao Yan Xiaohong Liu Jiaojiao Qiang 2022International Soil and Water Conservation Research2022,10,4:3

9Periodically hydrologic alterations decouple the relationships between physicochemical variables and chlorophyll-a in a dam-induced urban lake显示文摘Periodically hydrologic alterations driven by seasonal change and water storage capacity management strongly modify physicochemical properties and chlorophyll-a(Chl-a)and their interactions in dam-induced lakes.However,the extent and magnitude of these changes still remain unclear.This study aimed to determine the effects of periodically hydrologic alterations on physicochemical variables and Chl-a in the dam-induced urban Hanfeng Lake,upstream of Three Gorges Reservoir.Shifts in Chl-a and 13 physicochemical variables were recorded monthly in the lake from January 2013 to December 2014.Chl-a was neither seasonal nor inter-annual differences while a few physical variables such as flow velocity(V)exhibited significantly seasonal variabilities,and chemical variables like total nitrogen(TN),nitrate-nitrogen(NO3-N),total phosphorus(TP),dissolved silica(DSi)were markedly inter-annual differences.Higher TN:TP(40:1)and lower NO3-N:DSi(0.8:1)relative to balanced stoichiometric ratios suggested changes in composition of phytoplankton communities and potentially increased proportion of diatom in Hanfeng Lake.Chl-a was predicable by combination of dissolved oxygen(DO),TN and DSi in dry season,and by V alone in wet season.During the whole study period,Chl-a was solely negatively correlated with TN:TP,indicating decline in N concentration and increase in P could therefore increase Chl-a.Our results highlight pronounced decoupling of linkages between Chl-a and physicochemical variables affected by periodically hydrologic alterations in dam-induced aquatic systems.Tianyang Li Yuqi Zhang Binghui He Bing Yang Qi Huang 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,1:1
10Fabrication and photoluminescence of Er-doped ZnO thin films on SiO_2/Si substrate by pulsed laser deposition显示文摘Er doped ZnO thin films were grown on Si substrates using SiO2 buffer layer by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) method. The obtained films crystallize well and show high c-axis orientation. The Er content was evidently detected by the energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). Upon annealing in O2 ambience at different temperatures, the films show different photoluminescence properties at 1.54 μm. The samples annealed at 700 and 850 ℃ show intense photoluminescence peaks which enhance with the annealing temperature, while no obvious luminescence peaks are observed for the as-grown samples or annealed at 500 ℃.
