1Electron dynamics in collisionless magnetic reconnection显示文摘Magnetic reconnection provides a physical mechanism for fast energy conversion from magnetic energy to plasma kinetic energy. It is closely associated with many explosive phenomena in space plasma, usually collisionless in character. For this reason, researchers have become more interested in collisionless magnetic reconnection. In this paper, the various roles of electron dynamics in collisionless magnetic reconnection are reviewed. First, at the ion inertial length scale, ions and electrons are decoupled. The resulting Hall effect determines the reconnection electric field. Moreover, electron motions determine the current system inside the reconnection plane and the electron density cavity along the separatrices. The current system in this plane produces an out-of-plane magnetic field. Second, at the electron inertial length scale, the anisotropy of electron pressure determines the magnitude of the reconnection electric field in this region. The production of energetic electrons, which is an important characteristic during magnetic reconnection, is accelerated by the reconnection electric field. In addition, the different topologies, temporal evolution and spatial distribution of the magnetic field affect the accelerating process of electrons and determine the final energy of the accelerated electrons. Third, we discuss results from simulations and spacecraft observations on the secondary magnetic islands produced due to secondary instabilities around the X point, and the associated energetic electrons. Furthermore, progress in laboratory plasma studies is also discussed in regard to electron dynamics during magnetic reconnection. 2Characteristics and distribution of low molecular weight organic acids in the sediment porewaters in Bosten Lake, China显示文摘The composition and vertical profiles of low molecular-weight organic acids (LMWOAs) and the contribution of them to dissolved organic matter (DOM) in sediment porewaters in Bosten Lake, Xinjiang, China were investigated. The results showed that total concentration of LMWOAs was up to 94.5 μmol/L and their proportion in DOM was 5.6%, suggesting that LMWOAs were important chemical components in DOM in lake sediment porewaters. Among the seven LMWOAs, pyruvic and acetic acid had the highest concentrations with 26.30 and 8.31 μmol/L, accounting for 51.4% and 14.92% of LMWOAs, respectively. Trifluoroacetic and sorbic acid had the lowest concentrations, indicating that the compositions of LMWOAs in relative reducing environments were largely different from those reported in glacier, atmosphere and soils. The concentrations of lactic, acetic, formic, sorbic and oxalic acid decreased with increasing depth, probably relating to stronger microbial activities in the initial stage of early diagenesis. Trifluoroacetic acid was mainly anthropogenic with its concentration, showing a diusive trend from the surface to bottom sediments. The concentrations of lactic acid and nitrate generally showed a consistent profile. The increasing concentration of pyruvic acid in the vertical profile was just opposite to that of sulfate, revealing a significant negative relationship between them. Oxalic acid remained constant except for an obvious peak at 6 cm depth. 3Investigation of low-molecular weight organic acids and their spatiotemporal variation characteristics in Hongfeng Lake,China显示文摘The identities and concentrations of low-molecular-weight organic acids (LMWOAs) were determined by ion chromatography throughout a 20-m water column in Hongfeng Lake, China. The spatiotemporal variations of LMWOAs and their contributions to dissolved organic matter (DOM) in a research period of 24 hr were also investigated. The results demonstrated that five LMWOAs (lactic, acetic, pyruvic, sorbic, oxalic acid) were detected, and their total concentration and proportion in DOC were 6.55 μmol/L and 7.47%. Their average levels were 2.50, 0.65, 2.35, 0.96 and 0.09 μmol/L, respectively. LMWOAs were higher during daytime (10:00-18:00 on Jun 13, 2008) than nighttime (21:00-6:00 the next morning), in particular 4.99 μmol/L high in the epilimnion ( 1 m water depth), reflecting the fact that direct import from terrigenous sources and photochemical production from humic materials were dominant during LMWOAs' origin and accumulation. The same factors caused LMWOAs to be 0.63 μmol/L in the epilimnion higher than in the hypolimnion. The rapid decrease of total organic acid (TOA) up until 18:00 mainly resulted from bio-uptake and mineralization in the hypolimnion (>1 m water depth). Pyruvic acid increased with time in the epilimnion and decreased in the hypolimnion, largely related to the two contrary processes of continuous degradation and synthesis of macromolecular organic matter during life materials' cycle mediated by organisms. Simultaneously, plankton behavior and thermal stratification played a pivotal role in LMWOAs' behavior in the water column, causing decreasing and increasing profiles. 4Electron density hole and quadruple structure of B_y during collisionless magnetic reconnection显示文摘In collisionless reconnection,the magnetic field near the separatrix is stronger than that around the X-line,so an electron-beam can be formed and flows toward the X-line,which leads to a decrease of the electron density near the separatrix.Having been accelerated around the X-line,the electrons flow out along the magnetic field lines in the inner side of the separatrix.A quadruple structure of the Hall magnetic field By is formed by such a current system.A 2D particle-in-cell (PIC) simulation code is used in this paper to study the collisionless magnetic reconnection without an initial guide field.The current system described above is proved by the simulations.Furthermore,the position of the peak of the Hall magnetic field By is found to be between the separatrix and the center of the current sheet,which is verified by Cluster observations.HUANG Can WANG RongSheng LU QuanMing WANG Shui 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,8:4
5Temporal and spatial variations of low-molecular-weight organic acids in Dianchi Lake, China显示文摘Low-molecular-weight organic acids (LMWOAs) in eutrophic lake water of Dianchi, Southwestern China Plateau were investigated diurnally and vertically using ion chromatography. Two profiles (P1 and P2) were studied due to the difference of hydrochemical features. Lactic, formic, pyruvic and oxalic acid were detected as major components at P1 and P2 which were on average 7.98 and 6.53 μmol/L, respectively, corresponding to their proportions of 2.68% and 2.48% relative to DOC. Pyruvic acid was regarded as the uppermost species at P1 and P2, reaching up to 3.82 and 3.35 μmol/L and accounting for 47.9% and 51.3%, respectively, in individual TOA. Although humus were of biogenetic production at both sites, the significant negative correlation between diurnal variations of TOAs, fluorescence intensity (FI) of protein-like components and humic-like components at P1 indicated LMWOAs were greatly originated from bacterioplankton excretion and degradation. However, correlations between diurnal variations of humic-like FI and physicochemical parameters demonstrated algal origination of LMWOAs at P2. Although content of humus was high, TOA at P2 was 1.45 μmol/L lower than that at P1, due to the co-influence of more intense photo-oxidation and aggregation at P2. Therefore, TOAs exhibited quite opposite diurnal variation trends of increasing-decreasing and decreasing-increasing at P1 and P2, respectively. Except for impact of solar radiation, bacterial decomposition and assimilation rendered shifts of maximal LMWOAs along water column at P1. 6Post-traumatic stress disorder status in a rescue group after the Wenchuan earthquake relief显示文摘Previous studies have suggested that the incidence of post-traumatic stress disorder in earthquake rescue workers is relatively high. Risk factors for this disorder include demographic characteristics, earthquake-related high-risk factors, risk factors in the rescue process, personality, social support and coping style. This study examined the current status of a unit of 1 040 rescue workers who participated in earthquake relief for the Wenchuan earthquake that occurred on May 12th, 2008. Post-traumatic stress disorder was diagnosed primarily using the Clinician-Administered Post-traumatic Stress Disorder Scale during structured interviews. Univariate and multivariate sta-tistical analyses were used to examine major risk factors that contributed to the incidence of post-traumatic stress disorder. Results revealed that the incidence of this disorder in the rescue group was 5.96%. The impact factors in univariate analysis included death of family members, contact with corpses or witnessing of the deceased or seriously injured, near-death experience, severe injury or mental trauma in the rescue process and working at the epicenter of the earthquake. Correlation analysis suggested that post-traumatic stress disorder was positively correlated with psychotic and neurotic personalities, negative coping and low social support. Impact factors in mul-tivariate logistic regression analysis included near-death experience, severe injury or mental trauma, working in the epicenter of the rescue, neurotic personality, negative coping and low social support, among which low social support had the largest odds ratio of 20.42. 8Lycium barbarum polysaccharides ameliorate canine acute liver injury by reducing oxidative stress,protecting mitochondrial function,and regulating metabolic pathways显示文摘The development of acute liver injury can result in liver cirrhosis,liver failure,and even liver cancer,yet there is currently no effective therapy for it.The purpose of this study was to investigate the protective effect and therapeutic mechanism of Lycium barbarum polysaccharides(LBPs)on acute liver injury induced by carbon tetrachloride(CCl_(4)).To create a model of acute liver injury,experimental canines received an intraperitoneal injection of 1 mL/kg of CCl_(4)solution.The experimental canines in the therapy group were then fed LBPs(20 mg/kg).CCl_(4)-induced liver structural damage,excessive fibrosis,and reduced mitochondrial density were all improved by LBPs,according to microstructure data.By suppressing Kelch-like epichlorohydrin(ECH)-associated protein 1(Keap1),promoting the production of sequestosome 1(SQSTM1)/p62,nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2),and phaseⅡdetoxification genes and proteins downstream of Nrf2,and restoring the activity of anti-oxidant enzymes like catalase(CAT),LBPs can restore and increase the antioxidant capacity of liver.To lessen mitochondrial damage,LBPs can also enhance mitochondrial respiration,raise tissue adenosine triphosphate(ATP)levels,and reactivate the respiratory chain complexes I–V.According to serum metabolomics,the therapeutic impact of LBPs on acute liver damage is accomplished mostly by controlling the pathways to lipid metabolism.9-Hydroxyoctadecadienoic acid(9-HODE),lysophosphatidylcholine(Lyso PC/LPC),and phosphatidylethanolamine(PE)may be potential indicators of acute liver injury.This study confirmed that LBPs,an effective hepatoprotective drug,may cure acute liver injury by lowering oxidative stress,repairing mitochondrial damage,and regulating metabolic pathways.JIANJIA HUANG YUMAN BAI WENTING XIE RONGMEI WANG WENYUE QIU SHUILIAN ZHOU ZHAOXIN TANG JIANZHAO LIAO RONGSHENG SU 2023Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2023,24,2:2

10Identification of close relationship between atmospheric oxidation and ozone formation regimes in a photochemically active region显示文摘Understanding ozone(O_(3))formation regime is a prerequisite in formulating an effective O_(3)pollution control strategy.Photochemical indicator is a simple and direct method in identifying O_(3)formation regimes.Most used indicators are derived from observations,whereas the role of atmospheric oxidation is not in consideration,which is the core driver of O_(3)formation.Thus,it may impact accuracy in signaling O_(3)formation regimes.In this study,an advanced three-dimensional numerical modeling system was used to investigate the relationship between atmospheric oxidation and O_(3)formation regimes during a long-lasting O_(3)exceedance event in September 2017 over the Pearl River Delta(PRD)of China.We discovered a clear relationship between atmospheric oxidative capacity and O_(3)formation regime.Over eastern PRD,O_(3)formation was mainly in a NO x-limited regime when HO_(2)/OH ratio was higher than 11,while in a VOC-limited regime when the ratio was lower than 9.5.Over central and western PRD,an HO_(2)/OH ratio higher than 5 and lower than 2 was indicative of NO x-limited and VOC-limited regime,respectively.Physical contribution,including horizontal transport and vertical transport,may pose uncertainties on the indication of O_(3)formation regime by HO_(2)/OH ratio.In comparison with other commonly used photochemical indicators,HO_(2)/OH ratio had the best performance in differentiating O_(3)formation regimes.This study highlighted the necessities in using an atmospheric oxidative capacity-based indicator to infer O_(3)formation regime,and underscored the importance of characterizing behaviors of radicals to gain insight in atmospheric processes leading to O_(3)pollution over a photochemically active region.Kaihui Zhao Huihong Luo Zibing Yuan Danni Xu Yi Du Shu Zhang Yuqi Hao Yonghua Wu Jianping Huang Ying Wang Rongsheng Jiang 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,4:1

13On the ion distributions at the separatrices during symmetric magnetic reconnection显示文摘A particle-in-cell simulation of symmetric reconnection with zero guide field is carried out to understand the dynamics of ions along the separatrices.Through the investigation of ion velocity distributions at different moments and locations along the separatrices,a typical distribution is found:two counter-streaming populations in the perpendicular direction,with another two populations accelerated into distinct energy levels in the parallel direction.Backward tracing of ions reveals that the counter-streaming cores are mostly composed of ions initially located at the same side of the separatrix,while the other two accelerated populations in the parallel direction are composed of ions crossing through the neutral sheet.Through analysis of energy conversion of these populations,it is found that the ion energization along the separatrix is attributable primarily to the Hall electric field,while that in the region between the two separatrices is caused primarily by the induced reconnection electric field.For the counter-streaming population,the low-energy ions that cross the separatrix twice are affected by both Hall and reconnection electric fields,while the high-energy ions that directly enter the separatrix from the unperturbed plasma are energized mainly by the Hall electric field.For the two energized populations in the parallel direction,the ions with lower-energy are accelerated mainly by the in-plane electric field and the Hall electric field on the opposite side of the separatrix,whereas the ions with higher-energy not only experience the same energization process but also are constantly accelerated by the reconnection electric field.HongTao Huang YiQun Yu JinBin Cao Lei Dai RongSheng Wang 2021Earth and Planetary Physics2021,5,2:1
14Aggregation-induced emission enhancement of yellow photoluminescent carbon dots for highly selective detection of environmental and intracellular copper(Ⅱ) ions显示文摘Carbon dots (CDs) are prepared through a simple one-step hydrothermal treatment of o-phenylendiamine (OPD) and show yellow photoluminescent (PL) emission under the ultraviolet excitation, which can be further enhanced by Cu2+ ions owing to Cu2+ ions induced aggregation of OPD-CDs through the coordination of Cu2+ with amino groups on the surface of OPD-CDs. The aggregation induced emission enhancement (AIEE) property enables it feasible to develop a simple, sensitive and selective method to detect environmental and intracellular copper (Ⅱ) ions. The limit of detection as lowas 0.28 μmol/L (3σ/k) and a dynamic range from 0.5 μmol/L to 40 μmol/L make it veryeasy to detect the copper content inwater samples, such as river closure reservoir. 16Global hybrid simulations of soft X-ray emissions in the Earth’s magnetosheath显示文摘Earth’s magnetopause is a thin boundary separating the shocked solar wind plasma from the magnetospheric plasmas,and it is also the boundary of the solar wind energy transport to the magnetosphere.Soft X-ray imaging allows investigation of the large-scale magnetopause by providing a two-dimensional(2-D)global view from a satellite.By performing 3-D global hybrid-particle-in-cell(hybrid-PIC)simulations,we obtain soft X-ray images of Earth’s magnetopause under different solar wind conditions,such as different plasma densities and directions of the southward interplanetary magnetic field.In all cases,magnetic reconnection occurs at low latitude magnetopause.The soft X-ray images observed by a hypothetical satellite are shown,with all of the following identified:the boundary of the magnetopause,the cusps,and the magnetosheath.Local X-ray emissivity in the magnetosheath is characterized by large amplitude fluctuations(up to 160%);however,the maximum line-of-sight-integrated X-ray intensity matches the tangent directions of the magnetopause well,indicating that these fluctuations have limited impact on identifying the magnetopause boundary in the X-ray images.Moreover,the magnetopause boundary can be identified using multiple viewing geometries.We also find that solar wind conditions have little effect on the magnetopause identification.The Solar wind Magnetosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer(SMILE)mission will provide X-ray images of the magnetopause for the first time,and our global hybrid-PIC simulation results can help better understand the 2-D X-ray images of the magnetopause from a 3-D perspective,with particle kinetic effects considered.Jin Guo TianRan Sun San Lu QuanMing Lu Yu Lin XueYi Wang Chi Wang RongSheng Wang Kai Huang 2024Earth and Planetary Physics2024,8,1:1

18A modified forward and backward reaching inverse kinematics based incremental control for space manipulators显示文摘Forward and backward reaching inverse kinematics(FABRIK)is an efficient two-stage iterative solver for inverse kinematics of spherical-joint manipulator without the calculation of Jacobian matrix.Based on FABRIK,this paper presents an incremental control scheme for a free-floating space manipulator consists of revolute joints and rigid links with the consideration of joint constraints and dynamic coupling effect.Due to the characteristics of FABRIK,it can induce large angular movements on specific joints.Apart from that,FABRIK maps three dimensional(3D)problem into two dimensional(2D)problem by a simple geometric projection.This operation can cause infinite loops in some cases.In order to overcome these issues and apply FABRIK on space manipulators,an increments allocation method is developed to constrain the angular movements as well as to re-orient the end-effector.The manipulator is re-positioned based on the momentum conservation law.Instead of pure target position tracking,the orientation control of the end-effector is also considered.Numerical simulation is performed to testify and demonstrate the effectiveness and reliability of the proposed incremental control approach.Gangqi DONG Panfeng HUANG Yongjie WANG Rongsheng LI 2022Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2022,35,12:1
