| 4 | PdAg bimetallic electrocatalyst for highly selective reduction of CO2 with low COOH^* formation energy and facile CO desorption显示文摘For electrocatalytic reduction of CO2 to CO,the stabilization of intermediate COOH^* and the desorption of CO^* are two key steps.Pd can easily stabilize COOH^*,whereas the strong CO^* binding to Pd surface results in severe poisoning,thus lowering catalytic activity and stability for CO2 reduction.On Ag surface,CO^* desorbs readily,while COOH^* requires a relatively high formation energy,leading to a high overpotential.In light of the above issues,we successfully designed the PdAg bimetallic catalyst to circumvent the drawbacks of sole Pd and Ag.The PdAg catalyst with Ag-terminated surface not only shows a much lower overpotential(-0.55 V with CO current density of 1 mA/cm^2)than Ag(−0.76 V),but also delivers a CO/H2 ratio 18 times as high as that for Pd at the potential of-0.75 V vs.RHE.The issue of CO poisoning is significantly alleviated on Ag-terminated PdAg surface,with the stability well retained after 4h electrolysis at-0.75 V vs.RHE.Density functional theory(DFT)calculations reveal that the Ag-terminated PdAg surface features a lowered formation energy for COOH^* and weakened adsorption for CO^*,which both contribute to the enhanced performance for CO2 reduction. | Rui Lin Xuelu Ma Weng-Chon Cheong Chao Zhang Wei Zhu Jiajing Pei Kaiyue Zhang Bin Wang Shiyou Liang Yuxi Liu Zhongbin Zhuang Rong Yu Hai Xiao Jun Li Dingsheng Wang Qing Peng Chen Chen Yadong Li | 2019 | Nano Research2019,12,11: | 7 |

| 6 | Electrochemical property of LiFePO4/C composite cathode with different carbon sources显示文摘To improve the performance of battery cathode materials that consist of carbonaceous organic material,carbon coatings on lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO_4/C)materials were synthesized by different carbon sources.LiFePO_4/C was synthesized by a combination method of sol-gel and gas-phase diffused permeation. LiFeO_4/C materials were prepared by coating different carbon contents. High-performance composite materials were prepared by combining carbon with element doped by two modified methods. The elements of Fe and C came from Fe3+and sucrose, glucose, citric acid. Thermogravimetrydifferential thermal analysis (TG-DTA), X-ray diffractometer (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM),cycle voltammetry (CV), and charge-discharge test were used to characterize and test the surface morphology,structure, and electrochemical performance. The results show that LiFePO_4/C synthesized with sucrose has higher specific discharge capacity than the other materials. The specific discharge capacity of this material is 84.27 mAh·g^(-1). | 9 | Herpes Simplex Virus Type 2 Risks in Female Sex Workers in the China-vietnam Border County of Hekou显示文摘Objective To survey the prevalence and risk factors of HSV-2 among Chinese and Vietnamese female sex workers (FSW) in the border county of Hekou, Yunnan Province, China. Methods A cross-sectional survey was conducted on demographics, sexual behavior, medical history, and drug use among FSWs. Laboratory samples were obtained to test for HSV-2 and other STIs such as HIV, Syphilis, Trichomonas vaginalis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Chlamydia trachomatis, Bacterial vaginosis, and Yeast infections. Cervicitis and genital warts were also diagnosed. Results Of the 345 FSWs who participated in this study, 112 (32.5%) were ethnic Chinese and 233 (67.5) were Vietnamese. Among FSWs in Hekou, the prevalence rates were 58.3% for HSV-2, 5.5% for HIV, and 4.1% for bacterial vaginosis (BV). Age <21 (OR: 0.5; 95% CI: 0.3, 0.8), duration of commercial sex work ≤3 months (OR: 0.5; 95% CI: 0.3, 0.8), oral and vaginal sex with the last client (as opposed to only vaginal sex) (OR: 1.6; 95% CI: 1.0, 2.7), HIV (OR: 11.4; 95% CI: 1.5, 87.2), and bacterial vaginosis (BV) (OR: 5.6; 95% CI: 1.2, 26.9) were significantly correlated with HSV-2 infection. Conclusion Multivariate analysis showed that several factors were significantly correlated with the high prevalence of HSV-2 in FSWs in the border area between China and Vietnam. | 13 | Optics and Spectral Investigation in Dy^(3+)-Doped Borate Glasses显示文摘Dy 3+ -doped borate glasses (LBLB) with high effective visible fluorescence emission were synthesized. The absorption spectrum and fluorescence spectrum of this glass were measured and analyzed. By using J-O theory, the oscillator strengths for some absorption transitions were calculated according to the absorption spectra. The intensity parameters Ω_t (t=2, 4, 6) of Dy 3+ were determined by using a least-squares fitting approach, and the values are 4.04×10 -20 , 1.30×10 -20 and 1.82×10 -20 cm, respectively. The root-mean-square deviation δ_ rms was calculated. Under UV light excitation, Dy 3+ -doped borate glasses (LBLB) emit intense yellowish white lights.
