1A complete sequence and comparative analysis of a SARS-associated virus(Isolate BJ01)显示文摘The genome sequence of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)-associated virus provides essential information for the identification of pathogen(s), exploration of etiology and evolution, interpretation of transmission and pathogenesis, development of diagnostics, prevention by future vaccination, and treatment by developing new drugs. We report the complete genome sequence and comparative analysis of an isolate (BJ01) of the coronavirus that has been recognized as a pathogen for SARS. The genome is 29725 nt in size and has 11 ORFs (Open Reading Frames). It is composed of a stable region encoding an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (composed of 2 ORFs) and a variable region representing 4 CDSs (coding sequences) for viral structural genes (the S, E, M, N proteins) and 5 PUPs (putative uncharacterized proteins). Its gene order is identical to that of other known coronaviruses. The sequence alignment with all known RNA viruses places this virus as a member in the family of Coronaviridae. Thirty putative substitutions have been identified by comparative analysis of the 5 SARS- associated virus genome sequences in GenBank. Fifteen of them lead to possible amino acid changes (non-synonymous mutations) in the proteins. Three amino acid changes, with predicted alteration of physical and chemical features, have been detected in the S protein that is postulated to beinvolved in the immunoreactions between the virus and its host. Two amino acid changes have been detected in the Mprotein, which could be related to viral envelope formation. Phylogenetic analysis suggests the possibility of non-human origin of the SARS-associated viruses but provides noevidence that they are man-made. 2Phylogenetic and genetic characterization of a 2017 clinical isolate of H7N9 virus in Guangzhou,China during the fifth epidemic wave显示文摘Pathogenic H7N9 influenza viruses continue to pose a public health concern. The H7N9 virus has caused five outbreak waves of human infections in China since 2013. In the present study, a novel H7N9 strain(A/Guangdong/8 H324/2017) was isolated from a female patient with severe respiratory illness during the fifth wave of the 2017 H7N9 epidemic. Phylogenetic analysis showed that the H7N9 viruses collected during the fifth wave belong to two different lineages: the Pearl River Delta lineage and the Yangtze River Delta lineage. The novel isolate is closely related to the Pearl River Delta H7N9 viruses, which were isolated from patients in Guangdong Province. The novel H7N9 isolate has an insertion of three basic amino acids in the cleavage site of hemagglutinin(HA), which may enhance virulence in poultry. The 2017 isolate also possesses an R292 K substitution in the neuraminidase(NA)protein, which confers oseltamivir resistance. 4Study on Biogenic Amines in Various Dry Salted Fish Consumed in China显示文摘This study was carried out to investigate the biogenic amines(BAs), physicochemical property and microorganisms in dry salted fish, a traditional aquatic food consumed in China. Forty three samples of dry salted fish were gathered from retail and wholesale markets and manufacturers, which had been produced in various regions in China. Cadaverine(CAD) and putrescine(PUT) were quantitatively the most common biogenic amines. About 14% of the samples exceeded the histamine content standards established by the FDA and/or EU. The highest histamine content was found in Silver pomfret(Pampus argenteus)(347.79 mg kg^(-1)). Five of forty three samples exceeded the acceptable content of TYR(100 mg kg^(-1)), and 23.26% of dried-salted fish contained high contents of biogenic amines(above 600 mg kg^(-1)). In addition, species, regions, pickling processes and drying methods made the physicochemical property, microorganisms and biogenic amines in dry salted fish to be different to some extents. The total plate count(TPC) was much higher than that of total halophilic bacteria in all samples. The biogenic amines, physicochemical property and microbiological counts exhibited large variations among samples. Furthermore, no significant correlation between biogenic amines and physicochemical property and TPC was observed. 6A study on JA-and BTH-induced resistance of Rosa rugosa‘Plena’to powdery mildew(Sphaerotheca pannosa)显示文摘Different concentrations of jasmonic acid(JA)and benzothiadiazole(BTH) were sprayed on 2-year-old Rosa rugosa‘Plena’ seedlings. The induced resistance of JA and BTH to Sphaerotheca pannosa(Wallr.) and the changes of their related physiological indices were investigated. Results showed that JA and BTH treatments had inhibitory impacts on S. pannosa infection. The optimal concentration of JA and BTH was 0.5 mmol/L for the disease-resistance induction of the leaves, its inductive effect was up to 66.36% for BTH and 54.49% for JA. Our results confirmed that exogenous JA and BTH significantly improved R. rugose ‘Plena’ resistance to S. pannosa. When treated with JA and BTH, activities of the three defense enzymes(POD, PPO, and PAL) increased significantly.Contents of total phenolics, flavonoids, and lignin also increased significantly. 8Prediction of nitrogen and phosphorus contents in citrus leaves based on hyperspectral imaging显示文摘The nutritional status of citrus leaves is very important to the determining of fertilization plans.The spectrum technique is a quick,un-injured method and is becoming widely used for plant nutrient estimation.The possibility and method of using spectrum technique to estimate the nutrient of citrus leaf was explored in this study.A total amount of 135 leaves from the mature spring shoots of navel orange trees(C.sinensis Osbeck,“Newhall”)were collected and randomly grouped into two sets of samples:100 leaves for the calibration set and 35 leaves for the prediction set.The hyperspectral images were scanned upper and lower side of each leaf and then the total nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P)contents of each leaf were measured.The raw spectra data were extracted to generate average spectra curves,preprocessed with five different methods,and was used to build N and P content prediction models.The performances of the five preprocessing methods,i.e.,Savitzky-Golay smoothing(SGS),standard normal variate(SNV),multiplicative scatter correction(MSC),first-derivative(1-Der)and second-derivative(2-Der),were tested with linear partial least squares(PLS)models and nonlinear least squares-support vector machine(LS-SVM)models.The results showed that the SG-PLS and PLS were the best for the N predicting(Rp=0.9049,RMSEP=0.1041)and P(Rp=0.9235,RMSEP=0.0514)in citrus leaves,respectively;the hyperspectral image data from leaf‟s upper side predicting better for the contents of N and P.The study suggested that the hyperspectral image data from the upper side of the citrus leaves are suitable for nondestructive estimation of nutrient content.Liu Yanli Lyu Qiang He Shaolan Yi Shilai Liu Xuefeng Xie Rangjin Zheng Yongqiang Deng Lie 2015International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2015,8,2:5

10Spherical Headed Silicone Intubation in the Treatment of 26 Cases (31 eyes) of Chronic Dacryocystitis under Nasal Endoscopy显示文摘Purpose:To observe the clinical efficacy of spherical headed silicone implantation in the treatment of chronic dacryocystitis under nasal endoscopy.Methods:Twenty-six patients (31 eyes) with chronic dacryocystitis were subjected to spherical headed silicone implantation under topical anesthesia (lacrimal passage and nasal mucosal surface).Lacrimal passage irrigation was performed daily throughout the first postoperative week,and once each month thereafter.Results:All spherical headed silicone tube placements were successfully performed.The operative time ranged from 6 to 11 minutes.Symptoms of epiphora were immediately ameliorated post-operatively,and irrigation demonstrated patency of the lacrimal system in all patients.All patients were followed from 7 to 24 months,during which symptoms of tearing were improved.The lacrimal ducts of 27 eyes (87.7%) were normal.The lacrimal ducts of 4 others.(12.3%).were still blocked.Lacrimal passage irrigation was open and secretion disappeared in 28 eyes(90.3%).Tearing was observed in 3 eyes (9.68%).Conclusion:Spherical headed silicone tube implantation under nasal endoscopy is successful in relieving symptoms of tearing.Wanhong Liang Yongqiang Liang Xingyun Deng Hongzhi Yuan 2011Eye Science2011,26,4:5
11Detection of Huanglongbing(citrus greening) based on hyperspectral image analysis and PCR显示文摘Huanglongbing (HLB, citrus greening) is one of the most serious quarantine diseases of citrus worldwide. To monitor in real-time, recognize diseased trees, and efficiently prevent and control HLB disease in citrus, it is necessary to develop a rapid diagnostic method to detect HLB infected plants without symptoms. This study used Newhall navel orange plants as the research subject, and collected normal color leaf samples and chlorotic leaf samples from a healthy orchard and an HLB-infected orchard, respectively. First, hyperspectral data of the upper and lower leaf surfaces were obtained, and then the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was used to detect the HLB bacterium in each leaf. The PCR test results showed that all samples from the healthy orchard were negative, and a portion of the samples from the infected orchard were positive. According to these results, the leaf samples from the orchards were divided into disease-free leaves and HLB-positive leaves, and the least squares support vector machine recognition model was established based on the leaf hyperspectral reflectance. The effect on the model of the spectra obtained from the upper and lower leaf surfaces was investigated and different pretreatment methods were compared and analyzed. It was observed that the HLB recognition rate values of the calibration and validation sets based on upper leaf surface spectra under 9-point smoothing pretreatment were 100% and 92.5%, respectively. The recognition rate values based on lower leaf surface spectra under the second-order derivative pretreatment were also 100% and 92.5%, respectively. Both upper and lower leaf surface spectra were available for recognition of HLB-infected leaves, and the HLB PCR-positive leaves could be distinguished from the healthy by the hyperspectral modeling analysis. 13Estimation of carbon and nitrogen contents in citrus canopy by low-altitude remote sensing显示文摘The study aimed to investigate the fast and nondestructive method for detecting carbon and nitrogen content in citrus canopy.The multispectral imagery of Tarocco blood orange(Citrus sinensis L.Osbeck)plant canopy was obtained by a multispectral camera array mounted at an eight-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)flying at an altitude of 100 m above the canopy in Wanzhou District of Chongqing Municipality,China.Average spectral reflectance data of the whole canopy,mature leaf areas and young leaves areas were extracted from the imagery.Two spectral pre-processing methods,multiplicative scatter correction(MSC)and standard normal variable(SNV),and two modeling methods,the partial least squares(PLS)and the least squares support vector machine(LS-SVM),were adopted and compared for their prediction accuracy of total content of nitrogen,soluble sugar and starch in the leaves.The results showed that,based on the spectral data extracted from the mature leaves in the multispectral imagery,the PLS model based on the original spectrum obtained a Rp(correlation coefficient)of 0.6469 and RMSEP(root mean squares error of prediction)of 0.1296,suggested that it was the best for the prediction of total nitrogen content;the PLS model based on MSC(multiplicative scatter correction)spectrum pre-processing was the best for predicting total soluble sugar content(Rp=0.6398 and RMSEP=8.8891);and the LS-SVM model based on MSC was the best for the starch content prediction(Rp=0.6822 and RMSEP=14.9303).The prediction accuracy for carbon and nitrogen contents based on the spectral data extracted from the whole canopy and the young leaves were lower than that from the mature leaves.The results indicate that it is feasible to estimate the carbon and nitrogen contents by low-altitude airborne multispectral images.Liu Xuefeng Lyu Qiang He Shaolan Yi Shilai Hu Deyu Wang Zhitao Xie Rangjin Zheng Yongqiang Deng Lie 2016International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,5:2

In this study,we have designed and synthesized the ScF_(3)@Cu core-shell composites through a general electroless plating method to coat Cu on the surface of negative thermal expansion particles of ScF_(3). A spatially continuous copper network structure is formed in the present core-shell structure composites to achieve high thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion simultaneously, which is different from the conventional mixed composites. Notably, a high thermal conductivity(136.3 W m^(-1) K^(-1)) has been achieved in the ScF_(3)@Cu-40 core-shell composite with a low thermal expansion property(4.3×10^(-6) K^(-1)). The mechanism of thermal property and microstructure of the present core-shell composites are systematically studied based on different models. 20An antibody cocktail with broadened mutational resistance and effective protection against SARS-CoV-2显示文摘Neutralizing antibodies have been proven to be highly effective in treating mild and moderate COVID-19 patients,but continuous emergence of SARS-CoV-2 variants poses significant challenges.Antibody cocktail treatments reduce the risk of escape mutants and resistance.In this study,a new cocktail composed of two highly potent neutralizing antibodies(HB27 and H89Y)was developed,whose binding epitope is different from those cocktails that received emergency use authorization.This cocktail showed more potent and balanced neutralizing activities(IC_(50)0.9–11.3 ng mL^(-1))against a broad spectrum of SARS-CoV-2 variants over individual HB27 or H89Y antibodies.Furthermore,the cocktail conferred more effective protection against the SARS-CoV-2 Beta variant in an aged murine model than monotherapy.It was shown to prevent SARS-CoV-2 mutational escape in vitro and effectively neutralize 61 types of pseudoviruses harbouring single amino acid mutation originated from variants and escape strains of Bamlanivimab,Casirivimab and Imdevimab with IC_(50)of 0.6–65 ng mL^(-1).Despite its breadth of variant neutralization,the HB27+H89Y combo and EUA cocktails lost their potencies against Omicron variant.Our results provide important insights that new antibody cocktails covering different epitopes are valuable tools to counter virus mutation and escape,highlighting the need to search for more conserved epitopes to combat Omicron.Chunyun Sun Hang Chi Fei Yuan Jing Li Ji Yang Aihua Zheng Fei Wang Lingling Sun Yanjing Zhang Ping Hu Lihua Jiao Yongqiang Deng Liangzhi Xie 2023Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,1:0
