Two-dimensional materials:From mechanical properties to flexible mechanical sensors显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D)materials have great potential in the fields of flexible electronics and photoelectronic devices due to their unique properties derived by special structures. The study of the mechanical properties of 2D materials plays an important role in next-generation flexible mechanical electronic device applications.Unfortunately, traditional experiment models and measurement methods are not suitable for 2D materials due to their atomically ultrathin thickness, which limits both the theoretical research and practical value of the 2D materials. In this review,we briefly summarize the characterization of mechanical properties of 2D materials by in situ probe nanoindentation experiments, and discuss the effect of thickness, grain boundary, and interlayer interactions. We introduce the strain-induced effect on electrical properties and optical properties of 2D materials. Then,we generalize the mechanical sensors based on various 2D materials and their future potential applications in flexible and wearable electronic devices. Finally,we discuss the state of the art for the mechanical properties of 2D materials and their opportunities and challenges in both basic research and practical applications. | Hanjun Jiang Lu Zheng Zheng Liu Xuewen Wang | 2020 | InfoMat2020,2,6: | 10
Fe5C2 nanoparticles as low-cost HER electrocatalyst:the importance of Co substitution显示文摘Constructing and understanding the doping effect of secondary metal in transition metal carbide(TMC)catalysts is pivotal for the design of low-cost hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) electrocatalysts. In this work, we developed a wet-chemistry strategy for synthesizing Co-modified Fe_5C_2 nanoparticles((Fe_(1-x)Cox)_5C_2 NPs) as highly active HER electrocatalysts in basic solution. The structure of(Fe_(1-x)Cox)_5C_2 NPs was characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), extended X-ray absorption fine structure spectra(EXAFS) and scanning/transmission electron microscopy(S/TEM), indicating that the isomorphous substitution of cobalt in the lattice of Fe_5C_2.(Fe_(0.75) Co_(0.25))_5C_2 exhibited the best HER activity(174 mV for j = -10 mA/cm^2). Computational calculation results indicate that Co provides the most active site for HER. X-ray adsorption spectra(XAS) studies further suggested that the electron transfer in Fe–C bonds are enhanced by the substitution of Co, which modulates the hydrogen adsorption on the adjacent electronic-enriched carbon, and therefore promotes HER activity. Our results affirm the design of lowcost bimetallic TMCs based HER catalysts. | Siwei Li Pengju Ren Ce Yang Xi Liu Zhen Yin Weizhen Li Hanjun Yang Jian Li Xiaoping Wang Yi Wang Ruochen Cao Lili Lin Siyu Yao Xiaodong Wen Ding Ma | 2018 | Science Bulletin2018,63,20: | 6
Effects of flexibility and strength training on peak hamstring musculotendinous strains during sprinting显示文摘Background:Hamstring injury is one of the most common injuries in sports involving sprinting.Hamstring flexibility and strength are often considered to be modifiable risk factors in hamstring injury.Understanding the effects of hamstring flexibility or strength training on the biomechanics of the hamstring muscles during sprinting could assist in improving prevention strategies and rehabilitation related to these injuries. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of altering hamstring flexibility or strength on peak hamstring musculotendinous strain during sprinting. Methods:A total of 20 male college students(aged 18-24 years)participated and were randomly assigned to either a flexibility intervention group or a strength intervention group. Each participant executed exercise training 3 times a week for 8 weeks.Flexibility, sprinting, and isokinetic strength testing were performed before and after the 2 interventions.Paired t tests were performed to determine hamstring flexibility or strength intervention effects on optimal hamstring musculotendinous lengths and peak hamstring musculotendinous strains during sprinting. Results:Participants in the flexibility intervention group significantly increased the optimal musculotendinous lengths of the semimembranosus and biceps long head(p<0.026)and decreased peak musculotendinous strains in all 3 bi-articulate hamstring muscles(p<0.004).Participants in the strength-intervention group significantly increased the optimal musculotendinous lengths of all 3 hamstring muscles(p<0.041)and significantly decreased their peak musculotendinous strain during sprinting(p<0.017).Conclusion:Increasing hamstring flexibility or strength through exercise training may assist in reducing the risk of hamstring injury during sprinting for recreational male athletes. | Xianglin Wan Shangxiao Li Thomas M.Best Hui Liu Hanjun Li Bing Yu | 2021 | Journal of Sport and Health Science2021,10,2: | 6

Synthesis and transformation of zero-dimensional Cs3BiX6(X=Cl,Br)perovskite-analogue nanocrystals显示文摘The unique structure of zero-dimensional(0D)perovskite-analogues has attracted a great amount of research interest in recent years. To date, the current compositional library of 0D perovskites is largely limited to the lead-based Cs4PbX6(X=Cl,Br,and I)systems. In this work,we report a new synthesis of lead-free 0D Cs3BiX6(X=Cl,Br)perovskite-analogue nanocrystals(NCs)with a uniform cubic shape. We observe a broad photoluminescence peak centered at 390 nm for the 0D Cs3BiCl6 NCs at low temperatures. This feature originates from a self-trapped exciton mechanism. In situ thermal stability studies show that Cs3BiX6 NCs remain stable upon heating up to 200°C without crystal structural degradation. Moreover,we demonstrate that the Cs3BiX6 NCs can transform into other bismuth-based perovskite-analogues via facile anion exchange or metal ion insertion reactions. Our study presented here offers the opportunity for further understanding of the structure-property relationship of 0D perovskite-analogue materials, leading toward their future optoelectronic applications. | Hanjun Yang Tong Cai Exian Liu Katie Hills-Kimball Jianbo Gao Ou Chen | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,1: | 4
Staged angioplasty versus regular carotid artery stenting in patients with carotid artery stenosis at high risk of hyperperfusion:a randomised clinical trial显示文摘Background and purpose Hyperperfusion(HP)is a devastating complication associated with carotid artery stenting(CAS)or endarterectomy. The efficacy and safety of staged angioplasty(SAP)in patients with CAS at high risk of HP remains unclear. We sought to determine whether SAP is superior to regular CAS in patients with high risk of HP.Methods A randomised, multicentre open-label clinical trial with blinded outcome assessment(STEP)was conducted.Patients with severe carotid stenosis at high risk of HP were randomly assigned(1:1)to the SAP or regular CAS group. The primary endpoint was hyperperfusion syndrome(HPS)and intracerebral haemorrhage(ICH)within 30 days after the procedure. Results From November 2014 to January 2017,a total of 64 patients were enrolled in 11 centres.33 patients were allocated to the SAP group and 31 to the regular CAS group. At 30 days, the rate of primary endpoint was 0.0%(0/33)in the SAP group and 9.7%(3/31)in the regular CAS group(absolute risk reduction(ARR),9.7%;95%CI−20.1% to 0.7%;p=0.11).As one of the secondary endpoints, the incidence of HP phenomenon(HPP)was lower in the SAP group than the regular CAS group(0.0%vs 22.6%,ARR,−22.6%;95% CI−36.8%to−10.2%;p=0.04).Conclusion The rate of HPS and ICH was not significantly lower in SAP group;the extended secondary endpoint of HPP,however, significantly reduced, which suggested that SAP may be a safe and effective carotid revascularisation procedure to prevent HP. | Dapeng Mo Baixue Jia Huaizhang Shi Yaxuan Sun Qingan Liu Chengzhe Fan Jianping Deng Jinglin Yuan Wei Wu Changchun Jiang Guilian Zhang Hanjun Du Ning Ma Feng Gao Xuan Sun Ligang Song Lian Liu Guangge Peng Yongjun Wang Yilong Wang Zhongrong Miao the STEP Study Group | 2021 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,1: | 3
A 3D-bioprinted scaffold with doxycycline-controlled BMP2-expressing cells for inducing bone regeneration and inhibiting bacterial infection显示文摘Large bone defects face a high risk of pathogen exposure due to open wounds, which leads to high infection rates and delayed bone union. To promote successful repair of infectious bone defects, fabrication of a scaffold with dual functions of osteo-induction and bacterial inhibition is required. This study describes creation of an engineered progenitor cell line(C3H10T1/2)capable of doxycycline(DOX)-mediated release of bone morphogenetic protein-2(BMP2).Three-dimensional bioprinting technology enabled creation of scaffolds, comprising polycaprolactone/mesoporous bioactive glass/DOX and bioink, containing these engineered cells. In vivo and in vitro experiments confirmed that the scaffold could actively secrete BMP2 to significantly promote osteoblast differentiation and induce ectopic bone formation.Additionally, the scaffold exhibited broad-spectrum antibacterial capacity, thereby ensuring the survival of embedded engineered cells when facing high risk of infection. These findings demonstrated the efficacy of this bioprinted scaffold to release BMP2 in a controlled manner and prevent the occurrence of infection;thus, showing its potential for repairing infectious bone defects. | Minqi Wang Hanjun Li Yiqi Yang Kai Yuan Feng Zhou Haibei Liu Qinghui Zhou Shengbing Yang Tingting Tang | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,5: | 3

Effects of dynamic ultra-high pressure homogenization on the structure and functional properties of casein显示文摘Dynamic ultra-high pressure homogenization(UHPH)is a novel high-pressure processing technique. In this study, the effects of dynamic UHPH on the structure and functional properties of casein were systematically investigated. It was found that the functional properties of casein changed with dynamic UHPH treatment, and the treatment at 150 MPa could significantly improve casein aqueous solubility, foaming and emulsifying properties. These functional improvements could be attributed to its structural changes, since the dynamic UHPH treatment could change the secondary structure, promote the interchange reaction between the disulfide bond and the sulfhydryl group, and increase the surface hydrophobicity. The obtained results could broaden the application of casein and provide ideas for the non-thermal processing of proteins. | Chunyan Wang Yaping Ma Benguo Liu Zhuangli Kang Sheng Geng Jianan Wang Lipeng Wei Hanjun Ma | 2019 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,1: | 1

Modulating Pd e_(g) orbital occupancy in Pd-Au metallic aerogels for efficient carbon dioxide reduction显示文摘The electronic structure of electrocatalysts plays a critical role in energy conversion, whereas for an efficient catalyst,it is challenging to modulate the orbitals.Herein,we present a new strategy to modulate the e_(g) orbital occupancy of Pd by constructing composition-controllable Pd-Au metallic aerogels(MAs),optimizing the d-band center of Pd to achieve excellent performance for electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR).Specifically,Pd_(1)Au_(2) MAs achieve almost 100% Faraday efficiency(FE) of CO in the range of-0.40 to-0.80 V vs.reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE),as well as the long-term stability, being one of the best Pd-based materials for CO_(2)RR.The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) results and density functional theory(DFT) calculations demonstrate that the introduction of Au modulates the Pd e_(g) orbital occupancy, which significantly weakens *CO adsorption on Pd,reduces the CO_(2)RR energy barrier and consequently improves the electrocatalytic activity and stability for long-term applications. Our work highlights a new strategy for designing efficient electrocatalysts for CO_(2)RR and beyond. | Yao Chen Juan Wang Tingjie Mao Cun Chen Hanjun Li Honggang Huang Hui Fu Feili Lai Jiadong Chen Nan Zhang Tianxi Liu | 2023 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,12: | 0
Bioresorbable Multilayer Photonic Cavities as Temporary Implants for Tether-Free Measurements of Regional Tissue Temperatures显示文摘Objective and Impact Statement.Real-time monitoring of the temperatures of regional tissue microenvironments can serve as the diagnostic basis for treating various health conditions and diseases.Introduction.Traditional thermal sensors allow measurements at surfaces or at near-surface regions of the skin or of certain body cavities.Evaluations at depth require implanted devices connected to external readout electronics via physical interfaces that lead to risks for infection and movement constraints for the patient. Also, surgical extraction procedures after a period of need can introduce additional risks and costs.Methods.Here,we report a wireless, bioresorbable class of temperature sensor that exploits multilayer photonic cavities, for continuous optical measurements of regional,deep-tissue microenvironments over a timeframe of interest followed by complete clearance via natural body processes.Results.The designs decouple the influence of detection angle from temperature on the reflection spectra,to enable high accuracy in sensing,as supported by in vitro experiments and optical simulations.Studies with devices implanted into subcutaneous tissues of both awake, freely moving and asleep animal models illustrate the applicability of this technology for in vivo measurements.Conclusion.The results demonstrate the use of bioresorbable materials in advanced photonic structures with unique capabilities in tracking of thermal signatures of tissue microenvironments, with potential relevance to human healthcare. | Wubin Bai Masahiro Irie Zhonghe Liu Haiwen Luan Daniel Franklin Khizar Nandoliya Hexia Guo Hao Zang Yang Weng Di Lu Di Wu Yixin Wu Joseph Song Mengdi Han Enming Song Yiyuan Yang Xuexian Chen Hangbo Zhao Wei Lu Giuditta Monti Iwona Stepien Irawati Kandela Chad R.Haney Changsheng Wu Sang Min Won Hanjun Ryu Alina Rwei Haixu Shen Jihye Kim Hong-Joon Yoon Wei Ouyang Yihan Liu Emily Suen Huang-yu Chen Jerry Okina Jushen Liang Yonggang Huang Guillermo A.Ameer Weidong Zhou John A.Rogers | 2021 | Biomedical Engineering Frontiers2021,2,1: | 0

d-d Orbital coupling induced by crystal-phase engineering assists acetonitrile electroreduction to ethylamine显示文摘The d-d orbital coupling induced by crystal-phase engineering can effectively adjust the electronic structure of electrocatalysts, thus showing significant catalytic performance, while it has been rarely explored in electrochemical acetonitrile reduction reaction(ARR)to date.Herein,we successfully realize the structural transformation of Pd Cu metallic aerogels(MAs)from face-centered cubic(FCC)to body-centered cubic(BCC)through annealing treatment.Specifically, the BCC Pd Cu MAs exhibit excellent ARR performance with high ethylamine selectivity of 90.91%,Faradaic efficiency of 88.60%,yield rate of 316.0 mmol h^(-1)g^(-1)_(Pd+Cu)and long-term stability for consecutive electrolysis within 20 h at-0.55 V vs.reversible hydrogen electrode, outperforming than those of FCC Pd Cu MAs.Under the membrane electrode assembly system,BCC Pd Cu MAs also demonstrate excellent ethylamine yield rate of 389.5 mmol h^(-1)g^(-1)_(Pd+Cu).Density functional theory calculation reveals that the d-d orbital coupling in BCC Pd Cu MAs results in an evident correlation effect for the interaction of Pd and Cu sites, which boosts up the Cu sites electronic activities to enhance ARR performance. Our work opens a new route to develop efficient ARR electrocatalysts from the perspective of crystalline structure transformation. | Honggang Huang Yao Chen Hui Fu Cun Chen Hanjun Li Zhe Zhang Feili Lai Shuxing Bai Nan Zhang Tianxi Liu | 2024 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2024,89,2: | 0

The gut microbiome and microbial metabolites in acute myocardial infarction显示文摘Emerging evidence has highlighted the role of gut microbiome in human health. However, the integrative role of gut microbiome and microbial metabolites in acute myocardial infarction(AMI)remains unclear. The current study profiles the microbial community through 16S rRNA gene sequencing and shotgun metagenomic sequencing and measures fecal short-chain fatty acids and circulating choline pathway metabolites among 117 new-onset AMI cases and 78 controls.Significant microbial alternations are observed in AMI patients compared with controls(P=0.001).The abundances of nine species(e.g.,Streptococcus salivarius and Klebsiella pneumoniae)are positively associated, and one species(Roseburia hominis)is inversely associated with AMI status and severity.A gut microbial score at disease onset is associated with the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events in 3.2 years(hazard ratio[95%CI]:2.01[1.04-4.24])in AMI patients. The molar proportions of fecal acetate and butyrate are higher, and the circulating levels of choline and carnitine are lower in AMI patients than in controls. In addition, disease classifiers show that AMI cases and controls have a more distinct pattern in taxonomical composition than in pathways or metabolites. Our findings suggest that microbial composition and functional potentials are associated with AMI status and severity. | Chenglin Liu Zhonghan Sun Shalaimaiti Shali Zhendong Mei Shufu Chang Hanjun Mo Lili Xu Yanni Pu Huihui Guan Guo-Chong Chen Qibin Qi Zhexue Quan Ji Qi Kang Yao Yuxiang Dai Yan Zheng Junbo Ge | 2022 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2022,49,6: | 0
