1SDF-1/CXCR4 axis modulates bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell apoptosis, migration and cytokine secretion显示文摘Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)are considered as a promising cell source to treat the acute myocardial infarction.However,over 90%of the stem cells usually die in the first three days of transplantation.Survival potential,migration ability and paracrine capacity have been considered as the most important three factors for cell transplantation in the ischemic cardiac treatment.We hypothesized that stromal-derived factor-1(SDF-1)/CXCR4 axis plays a critical role in the regulation of these processes.In this study,apoptosis was induced by exposure of MSCs to H2O2 for 2 h.After re-oxygenation,the SDF-1 pretreated MSCs demonstrated a significant increase in survival and proliferation.SDF-1 pretreatment also enhanced the migration and increased the secretion of pro-survival and angiogenic cytokines including basic fibroblast growth factor and vascular endothelial growth factor.Western blot and RT-PCR demonstrated that SDF-1 pretreatment significantly activated the pro-survival Akt and Erk signaling pathways and up-regulated Bcl-2/Bax ratio.These protective effects were partially inhibited by AMD3100,an antagonist of CXCR4.We conclude that the SDF-1/CXCR4 axis is critical for MSC survival,migration and cytokine secretion.Xiaolei Liu Biyan Duan Zhaokang Cheng Xiaohua Jia Lina Mao Hao Fu Yongzhe Che Lailiang Ou Lin Liu Deling Kong 2011Protein & Cell2011,2,10:53
2Differences in Organic C Mineralization Between Aerobic and Submerged Conditions in Paddy Soils of Southern Jiangsu Province,China显示文摘Moisture regime plays a crucial role in the mineralization of soil organic carbon(SOC).In this paper,the dynamics of SOC mineralization in typical paddy soils of Changshu,Jiangsu Province,China,was investigated by incubation test in laboratory.The differences in SOC mineralization under aerobic and submerged conditions of paddy soils were also studied.Results showed that the daily mineralization of SOC under different moisture regimes was significantly different in the whole incubation period,at the beginning of the incubation,it decreased quickly under aerobic condition,but increased rapidly under submerged condition,and both remained constant after 10 d of incubation.The differences in SOC mineralization were found to be mainly at the beginning period of the incubation and decreased along with the incubation time.Thus,the difference was not significantly different at the later incubation period.The respiration intensity,daily and cumulative mineralization of SOC under aerobic condition was 2.26-19.11,0.96-2.41,and 0.96-2.41 times than those under submerged condition,respectively.Statistic analyses showed that the higher the contents of microbial biomass carbon and nitrogen,the more significant difference in respiration intensity between aerobic and submerged conditions,but the higher the contents of microbial biomass nitrogen and dissolved organic carbon,the more significant difference in daily mineralization of SOC between the two conditions.The decrease in soil microbial activity under submerged condition was the main reason leading to the decrease in respiration intensity,but the decrease in SOC mineralization was also correlated with the changes in dissolved organic carbon over the whole incubation period.HAO Rui-jun LI Zhong-pei CHE Yu-ping 2011Agricultural Sciences in China2011,10,9:13

4Gasdermin E-derived caspase-3 inhibitors effectively protect mice from acute hepatic failure显示文摘Programmed cell death(PCD),including apoptosis,apoptotic necrosis,and pyroptosis,is involved in various organ dysfunction syndromes.Recent studies have revealed that a substrate of caspase-3,gasdermin E(GSDME),functions as an effector for pyroptosis;however,few inhibitors have been reported to prevent pyroptosis mediated by GSDME.Here,we developed a class of GSDME-derived inhibitors containing the core structure of DMPD or DMLD.Ac-DMPD-CMK and Ac-DMLD-CMK could directly bind to the catalytic domains of caspase-3 and specifically inhibit caspase-3 activity,exhibiting a lower IC50 than that of Z-DEVD-FMK.Functionally,Ac-DMPD/DMLD-CMK substantially inhibited both GSDME and PARP cleavage by caspase-3,preventing apoptotic and pyroptotic events in hepatocytes and macrophages.Furthermore,in a mouse model of bile duct ligation that mimics intrahepatic cholestasis-related acute hepatic failure,Ac-DMPD/DMLD-CMK significantly alleviated liver injury.Together,this study not only identified two specific inhibitors of caspase-3 for investigating PCD but also,more importantly,shed light on novel lead compounds for treating liver failure and organ dysfunctions caused by PCD.Wan-feng Xu Quan Zhang Chu-jie Ding Hui-yong Sun Yuan Che Hai Huang Yun Wang Jia-wei Wu Hai-ping Hao Li-juan Cao 2021Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2021,42,1:7
5Intelligent metasurface imager and recognizer显示文摘There is an increasing need to remotely monitor people in daily life using radio-frequency probe signals.However,conventional systems can hardly be deployed in real-world settings since they typically require objects to either deliberately cooperate or carry a wireless active device or identification tag.To accomplish complicated successive tasks using a single device in real time,we propose the simultaneous use of a smart metasurface imager and recognizer,empowered by a network of artificial neural networks(ANNs)for adaptively controlling data flow.Here,three ANNs are employed in an integrated hierarchy,transforming measured microwave data into images of the whole human body,classifying specifically designated spots(hand and chest)within the whole image,and recognizing human hand signs instantly at a Wi-Fi frequency of 2.4 GHz.Instantaneous in situ full-scene imaging and adaptive recognition of hand signs and vital signs of multiple non-cooperative people were experimentally demonstrated.We also show that the proposed intelligent metasurface system works well even when it is passively excited by stray Wi-Fi signals that ubiquitously exist in our daily lives.The reported strategy could open up a new avenue for future smart cities,smart homes,human-device interaction interfaces,health monitoring,and safety screening free of visual privacy issues.Lianlin Li Ya Shuang Qian Ma Haoyang Li Hanting Zhao Menglin Wei Che Liu Chenglong Hao Cheng-Wei Qiu Tie Jun Cui 2019Light(Science & Applications)2019,8,1:5
6Effects of dietary valine supplementation during late gestation on the reproductive performance and mammary gland development of gilts显示文摘Background:Mammary gland development during late gestation in gilts is a major factor that alters the composition of colostrum and growth performance of piglets.Plasma valine is taken up and metabolized extensively by the mammary gland;however,the effects of valine on mammary gland development during late gestation are still unclear.Thirty primiparous gilts were divided into three treatment groups(n=10)and received one of the three diets starting on day 75 of gestation until the day of farrowing.The total dietary valine to lysine ratio of the three diets was 0.63(LV),0.73(MV),and 0.93(HV),respectively.Results:Dietary valine supplementation during late gestation did not affect(P>0.05)the litter size and weight at farrowing;however,the piglet weight and average daily gain at weaning were linearly increased(P<0.05)as the dietary valine increased.The highest piglet weight at weaning was observed when the gilts were provided the HV diet.Dietary valine supplementation linearly elevated(P<0.05)protein,fat and solids-not-fat and some free amino acids content in colostrum.The concentration of prolactin in plasma of gilts was linearly increased in response to valine supplementation at days 1 and 10 of lactation(P<0.05).Furthermore,with increasing dietary valine allowance,a linear increase(P<0.05)was observed in the area of the lumen of alveolus and the content of DNA,RNA,and total protein in the mammary tissues at day 1 of lactation.Moreover,the protein expression of cyclin D1,p-mTOR,p-S6,and p-4EBP1 was also linearly increased(P<0.05)in the mammary tissue at day 1 of lactation.However,no difference(P>0.05)was observed in the indices related to mammary development and the mTOR signaling pathway at day 21 of lactation.Conclusion:The results revealed that increasing the total dietary valine to lysine ratio to 0.93 during late gestation significantly enhances the piglet weight and average daily gain at weaning probably due to improved development of mammary gland.Long Che Mengmeng Xu Kaiguo Gao Li Wang Xuefen Yang Xiaolu Wen Hao Xiao Zongyong Jiang 2020Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2020,11,2:4

10Boosting oxygen reduction activity of spinel CoFe2O4 by strong interaction with hierarchical nitrogen-doped carbon nanocages显示文摘The unique hierarchical nitrogen-doped carbon nanocages(h NCNC) are used as a new support to homogeneously immobilize spinel Co Fe_2O_4 nanoparticles by a facile solvothermal method. The so-constructed hierarchical Co Fe_2O_4/h NCNC catalyst exhibits a high oxygen reduction activity with an onset potential of0.966 V and half-wave potential of 0.819 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode, far superior to the corresponding 0.846 and 0.742 V for its counterpart of Co Fe_2O_4/h CNC with undoped hierarchical carbon nanocages(h CNC) as the support, which locates at the top level for spinel-based catalysts to date.Consequently, the Co Fe_2O_4/h NCNC displays the superior performance to the Co Fe_2O_4/h CNC, when used as the cathode catalysts in the home-made Al-air batteries. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy characterizations reveal the more charge transfer from Co Fe_2O_4 to h NCNC than to h CNC, indicating the stronger interaction between Co Fe_2O_4 and h NCNC due to the nitrogen participation. The enhanced interaction and hierarchical morphology favor the high dispersion and modification of electronic states for the active species as well as the mass transport during the oxygen reduction process, which plays a significant role in boosting the electrocatalytic performances. In addition, we noticed the high sensitivity of O 1 s spectrum to the particle size and chemical environment for spinel oxides, which is used as an indicator to understand the evolution of ORR activities for all the Co Fe_2O_4-related contrast catalysts. Accordingly,the well-defined structure-performance relationship is demonstrated by the combination of experimental characterizations with theoretical calculations. 14Improving the efficiency of magnetic coupling energy transfer byetching fractal patterns in the shielding metals显示文摘Thin metal sheets are often located in the coupling paths of magnetic coupling energy transfer(MCET) systems. Eddy currents in the metals reduce the energy transfer efficiency and can even present safety risks. This paper describes the use of etched fractal patterns in the metals to suppress the eddy currents and improve the efficiency. Simulation and experimental results show that this approach is very effective. The fractal patterns should satisfy three features, namely, breaking the metal edge, etching in the high-intensity magnetic field region, and etching through the metal in the thickness direction. Different fractal patterns lead to different results. By altering the eddy current distribution, the fractal pattern slots reduce the eddy current losses when the metals show resistance effects and suppress the induced magnetic field in the metals when the metals show inductance effects. Fractal pattern slots in multilayer high conductivity metals(e.g., Cu) reduce the induced magnetic field intensity significantly. Furthermore, transfer power, transfer efficiency, receiving efficiency, and eddy current losses all increase with the increase of the number of etched layers. 15Accuracy assessment of four cloud-free snow cover products over the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Four up-to-date daily cloud-free snow products–IMS(InteractiveMultisensor Snow products),MOD-SSM/I(combination of the MODIS andSSM/I snow products),MOD-B(Blending method basing on the MODISsnow cover products)and TAI(Terra–Aqua–IMS)–with high-resolutionsover the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau(QTP)were comprehensively assessed.Comparisons of the IMS,MOD-SSM/I,MOD-B and TAI cloud-free snowproducts against meteorological stations observations over 10 snowseasons(2004–2013)over the QTP indicated overall accuracies of 76.0%,89.3%,92.0%and 92.0%,respectively.The Khat values of the IMS,MODSSM/I,MOD-B and TAI products were 0.084,0.463,0.428 and 0.526,respectively.The TAI products appear to have the best cloud-removalability among the four snow products over the QTP.Based on theassessment,an I-TAI(Improvement of Terra–Aqua–IMS)snow productwas proposed,which can improve the accuracy to some extent.However,the algorithms of the MODIS series products show instabilitywhen identifying wet snow and snow under forest cover over the QTP.The snow misclassification is an important limitation of MODIS snowcover products and requires additional improvements.Xiaohua Hao Siqiong Luoa Tao Che Jian Wang Hongyi Li Liyun Dai Xiaodong Huang Qisheng Feng 2019International Journal of Digital Earth2019,12,4:2
