1Bias-drift-free Mach–Zehnder modulators based on a heterogeneous silicon and lithium niobate platform显示文摘Optical modulators have been and will continue to be essential devices for energy-and cost-efficient optical communication networks.Heterogeneous silicon and lithium niobate modulators have demonstrated promising performances of low optical loss,low drive voltage,and large modulation bandwidth.However,DC bias drift is a major drawback of optical modulators using lithium niobate as the active electro-optic material.Here,we demonstrate high-speed and bias-drift-free Mach–Zehnder modulators based on the heterogeneous silicon and lithium niobate platform.The devices combine stable thermo-optic DC biases in silicon and ultra-fast electro-optic modulation in lithium niobate,and exhibit a low insertion loss of 1.8 d B,a low half-wave voltage of 3 V,an electro-optic modulation bandwidth of at least 70 GHz,and modulation data rates up to 128 Gb/s.SHIHAO SUN MINGBO HE MENGYUE XU SHENGQIAN GAO ZIYAN CHEN XIAN ZHANG ZILIANG RUAN XIONG WU LIDAN ZHOU LIN LIU CHAO LU CHANGJIAN GUO LIU LIU SIYUAN YU XINLUN CAI 2020Photonics Research2020,8,12:5
2Surface-enhanced Raman scattering for mixing state characterization of individual fine particles during a haze episode in Beijing,China显示文摘The nondestructive characterization of the mixing state of individual fine particles using the traditional single particle analysis technique remains a challenge.In this study,fine particles were collected during haze events under different pollution levels from September 5 to 112017 in Beijing,China.A nondestructive surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SERS)technique was employed to investigate the morphology,chemical composition,and mixing state of the multiple components in the individual fine particles.Optical image and SERS spectral analysis results show that soot existing in the form of opaque material was predominant during clear periods(PM_(2.5)≤75μg/m^(3)).During polluted periods(PM_(2.5)>75μg/m^(3)),opaque particles mixed with transparent particles(nitrates and sulfates)were generally observed.Direct classical least squares analysis further identified the relative abundances of the three major components of the single particles:soot(69.18%),nitrates(28.71%),and sulfates(2.11%).A negative correlation was observed between the abundance of soot and the mass concentration of PM_(2.5).Furthermore,mapping analysis revealed that on hazy days,PM_(2.5)existed as a core-shell structure with soot surrounded by nitrates and sulfates.This mixing state analysis method for individual PM_(2.5)particles provides information regarding chemical composition and haze formation mechanisms,and has the potential to facilitate the formulation of haze prevention and control policies.Hui Chen Fengkui Duan Jingjing Du Ranhao Yin Lidan Zhu Jinlu Dong Kebin He Zhenli Sun Suhua Wang 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,6:2

5Broadband photonic structures for quantum light sources显示文摘Quantum light sources serve as one of the key elements in quantum photonic technologies. Such sources made from semiconductor material, e.g., quantum dots (QDs), are particularly appealing because of their great potential of scalability enabled by the modern planar nanofabrication technologies. So far, non-classic light sources based on semiconductor QDs are currently outperforming their counterparts using nonlinear optical process, for instance, parametric down conversion and four-wave mixing. To fully exploring the potential of semiconductor QDs, it is highly desirable to integrate QDs with a variety of photonic nanostructures for better device performance due to the improved light-matter interaction. Among different designs, the photonic nanostructures exhibiting broad operation spectral range is particularly interesting to overcome the QD spectral inhomogeneity and exciton fine structure splitting for the generations of single-photon and entangled photon pair respectively. 6Suppression of Co(Ⅱ)ion deposition and hazards:Regulation of SEI film composition and structure显示文摘Despite the presence of Li F components in the solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)formed on the graphite anode surface by conventional electrolyte,these Li F components primarily exist in an amorphous state,rendering them incapable of effectively inhibiting the exchange reaction between lithium ions and transition metal ions in the electrolyte.Consequently,nearly all lithium ions within the SEI film are replaced by transition metal ions,resulting in an increase in interphacial impedance and a decrease in stability.Herein,we demonstrate that the SEI film,constructed by fluoroethylene carbonate(FEC)additive rich in crystalline Li F,effectively inhibits the undesired Li^(+)/Co^(2+)ion exchange reaction,thereby suppressing the deposition of cobalt compounds and metallic cobalt.Furthermore,the deposited cobalt compounds exhibit enhanced structural stability and reduced catalytic activity with minimal impact on the interphacial stability of the graphite anode.Our findings reveal the crucial influence of SEI film composition and structure on the deposition and hazards associated with transition metal ions,providing valuable guidance for designing next-generation electrolytes.Jiaqi Zhan Mingzhu Liu Yutian Xie Jiarong He Hebing Zhou Lidan Xing Weishan Li 2024Journal of Energy Chemistry2024,89,2:0
7Synergistic interphase modification with dual electrolyte additives to boost cycle stability of high nickel cathode for all-climate battery显示文摘B-containing electrolyte additives are widely used to enhance the cycle performance at low temperature and the rate capability of lithium-ion batteries by constructing an efficient cathode electrolyte interphase(CEI)to facilitate the rapid Li+migration.Nevertheless,its wide-temperature application has been limited by the instability of B-derived CEI layer at high temperature.Herein,dual electrolyte additives,consisting of lithium tetraborate(Li_(2)TB)and 2,4-difluorobiphenyl(FBP),are proposed to boost the widetemperature performances of LiNi_(0.6)Co_(0.2)Mn_(0.2)O_(2)(NCM)cathode.Theoretical calculation and electrochemical performances analyses indicate that Li_(2)TB and FBP undergo successive decomposition to form a unique dual-layer CEI.FBP acts as a synergistic filming additive to Li_(2)TB,enhancing the hightemperature performance of NCM cathode while preserving the excellent low-temperature cycle stability and the superior rate capability conferred by Li_(2)TB additive.Therefore,the capacity retention of NCM‖Li cells using optimal FBP-Li_(2)TB dual electrolyte additives increases to 100%after 200 cycles at-10℃,99%after 200 cycles at 25℃,and 83%after 100 cycles at 55℃,respectively,much superior to that of base electrolyte(63%/69%/45%).More surprisingly,galvanostatic c ha rge/discharge experiments at different temperatures reveal that NCM‖Li cells using FBP-Li_(2)TB additives can operate at temperatures ranging from-40℃to 60℃.This synergistic interphase modification utilizing dual electrolyte additives to construct a unique dual-layer CEI adaptive to a wide temperature range,provides valuable insights to the practical applications of NCM cathodes for all-climate batteries.Zhangyating Xie Jiarong He Zhiyong Xia Qinqin Cai Ziyuan Tang Jie Cai Yili Chen Xiaoqing Li Yingzhu Fan Lidan Xing Yanbin Shen Weishan Li 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,11:0

9Visual Object Tracking via Cascaded RPN Fusion and Coordinate Attention显示文摘Recently,Siamese-based trackers have achieved excellent performance in object tracking.However,the high speed and deformation of objects in the movement process make tracking difficult.Therefore,we have incorporated cascaded region-proposal-network(RPN)fusion and coordinate attention into Siamese trackers.The proposed network framework consists of three parts:a feature-extraction sub-network,coordinate attention block,and cascaded RPN block.We exploit the coordinate attention block,which can embed location information into channel attention,to establish long-term spatial location dependence while maintaining channel associations.Thus,the features of different layers are enhanced by the coordinate attention block.We then send these features separately into the cascaded RPN for classification and regression.According to the two classification and regression results,the final position of the target is obtained.To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method,we conducted comprehensive experiments on the OTB100,VOT2016,UAV123,and GOT-10k datasets.Compared with other state-of-the-art trackers,the proposed tracker achieved good performance and can run at real-time speed.Jianming Zhang Kai Wang Yaoqi He Lidan Kuang 2022Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2022,,9:0
10Excitatory Crossmodal Input to a Widespread Population of Primary Sensory Cortical Neurons显示文摘Crossmodal information processing in sensory cortices has been reported in sparsely distributed neurons under normal conditions and can undergo experience-or activity-induced plasticity.Given the potential role in brain function as indicated by previous reports,crossmodal connectivity in the sensory cortex needs to be further explored.Using perforated whole-cell recording in anesthetized adult rats,we found that almost all neurons recorded in the primary somatosensory,auditory,and visual cortices exhibited significant membrane-potential responses to crossmodal stimulation,as recorded when brain activity states were pharmacologically down-regulated in light anesthesia.These crossmodal cortical responses were excitatory and subthreshold,and further seemed to be relayed primarily by the sensory thalamus,but not the sensory cortex,of the stimulated modality.Our experiments indicate a sensory cortical presence of widespread excitatory crossmodal inputs,which might play roles in brain functions involving crossmodal information processing or plasticity.Yuan-Jie Xiao Lidan Wang Yu-Zhang Liu Jiayu Chen Haoyu Zhang Yan Gao Hua He Zheng Zhao Zhiru Wang 2022Neuroscience Bulletin2022,38,10:0
11Propolis inspired sunscreens for efficient UV-protection and skin barrier maintenance显示文摘The direct use of naturally occurring,small molecular ingredients in bioinspired sunscreens has raised several concerns due to the instability,photocytotoxicity,and potential blood toxicity of those ingredients.In this work,we have employed natural ultraviolet(UV)-blocking molecule caffeic acid phenethyl ester(CAPE)from propolis to prepare poly(CAPE)nanoparticles(NPs)as the main bioactive ingredient to fabricate propolis-inspired hydrogel sunscreens.Compared with small molecular CAPE,poly(CAPE)NPs exhibited better dispersion and stability in water,as well as lower physiological toxicity and skin permeability.And the resulting composite hydrogels demonstrated promising properties including water-resistant whereas can be easily erased by warm water as well as safety when interacting with skin.More importantly,the hydrogel sunscreens showed excellent UV protection properties both in vitro and in vivo,and the positive effects in maintaining skin barrier functions.This work provides new strategies towards the facile construction of nature-inspired robust sunscreens in the future.Yu Fu Ruoyu Wan Lei Yang Lidan Xiong Junfei Hu Jie Tang Hailun He Zhipeng Gu Li Li Yiwen Li 2022Nano Research2022,15,9:0
12Cysteine mutations impair the structural stability of phosphomannomutase 2(PMM2)in glycosylation-associated metabolic disorders显示文摘Glycosylation is a ubiquitous molecular modification in the process of cellular metabolism regulation,which plays a vital role in maintaining and regulating cellular functions.Deficiency in glycosylation enzymes may jeopardize the glycosylation process and eventually lead to the metabolic disease,manifesting with either a neurologic or multisystem phenotype,which is also known as congenital disorder of glycosylation(CDG).1 It could be classified into type I CDG and type II CDG,and the latter was referred to as the abnormal formation of nascent glycoprotein.Phosphomannomutase 2 CDG(PMM2-CDG),the most prevalent CDG with an incidence rate of 1 in 20,000 individuals,is mainly due to the metabolic disorder of phosphomannomutase 2(PMM2).2 PMM2 participates in the conversion of mannose-6-phosphate to mannose-1-phosphate.The cysteine residues,as one of the least abundant amino acids,have unique attributes to maintain the stability of protein structure,especially for catalytic activity and protein folding.3 Therefore,cysteine mutations have been identified in various diseases including PMM2-CDG.Suggested by the crystal structure of PMM2(PDB ID:7O5Z),4 four cysteine mutations in the hPMM2,C9Y,C103F,C192G,and C241S,have been found in PMM2-CDG.After bioinformatic analysis by PROVEAN,the four cysteine mutations were predicted with“Deleterious”,ranking with the best two were C103F and C192G(C9Y:−5.493,C103F:−6.339,C192G:−11.176,C241S:−2.986).However,the underlying pathological mechanism is still unclear.Among them,C103F and C192G have only been reported in clinical study without a detailed explanation,so they were selected for our research.Two mutants were located near the linker region 1 and 2;C103F was located on the No.4αhelix and C192G was located on the No.7αhelix(Fig.S1A).The purpose of this study was to explore the structure and function roles of PMM2 clinical mutation and investigate the role of cysteine in PMM2 which might provide new insights into preventive and therapeutic strategies for PMM2-CDG.Yunfan Pan Li Lin Fan Yu Jingmiao Sun Guannan Bai Xinyu He Jianhua Mao Lidan Hu 2023Genes & Diseases2023,10,5:0
