1Multiple genetic alterations and behavior of cellular biology in gastric cancer and other gastric mucosal lesions:H.pylori infection,histological types and staging显示文摘AIM To investigate the expression of multiplegenes and the behavior of cellular biology ingastric cancer(GC)and other gastric mucosallesions and their relations to Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)infection,tumor staging andhistological subtypes.METHODS Three hundred and twenty-sevenspecimens of gastric mucosa obtained viaendoscopy or surgical resection,and ABCimmunohistochemical staining were used todetect the expression of p53,p16,Bcl-2 andCOX-2 proteins.H.pylori was determined byrapid urea test combined with pathologicalstaining or14C urea breath test.Cellular image analysis was performed in 66 patients withintestinal metaplasia(IM)and/or dysplasia(Dys).In 30 of them,both cancer and theparacancerous tissues were obtained at the timeof surgery.Histological pattern,tumor staging,lymph node metastasis,grading ofdifferentiation and other clinical data werestudied in the medical records.RESULTS p16 expression of IM or Dys wassignificantly lower in positive H.pylori chronicatrophic gastritis(CAG)than those withnegative H.pylori(CAG:54.8% vs 88.0%,IM:34.4% vs 69.6%,Dys:23.8% vs 53.6%,allP<0.05),Bcl-2 or COX-2 expression of IM orDys in positive H.pylori cases was significantlyhigher than that without H.pylori(Bcl-2:68.8%vs23.9%,90.5% vs 60.7%;COX-2:50.0% vs10.8%,61.8% vs 17.8%;all P<0.05).Themean number of most parameters of cellularimage analysis in positive H.pylori group wassignificantly higher than that in negative H.pylori group(Ellipser:53±14,40±12μm,Area1:748±572,302±202 μm2,Area2:3050±1661,1681±1990 μm2,all P<0.05;Ellipseb:79±23,58±15 μm,Ratio1:22%±5%,13%±4%,Ratio2:79%±17%,53%±20%,all P<0.01).There was significant correlation between Bcl-2and histologic pattern of gastric carcinoma,andbetween COX-2 and tumor staging or lymph nodemetastasis(Bcl-2:75.0% vs 16.7%;COX-2:76.0% vs 20.0%,79.2% vs 16.7%;allP<0.05).CONCLUSION p1l6, Bcl-2, and COX-2 but not p53 gene may play a role in the early genesis/ progression of gastric carcinoma and are associated with H. pylori infection. p53 gene is relatively late event in gastric tumorigenesis and mainly relates to its progression. There is more cellular-biological behavior of malignant tumor in gastric mucosal lesions with H. pylori infection. Aberrant Bcl-2 protein expression appears to be preferentially associated with the intestinal type cancer. 2High entropy defective fluorite structured rare-earth niobates and tantalates for thermal barrier applications显示文摘Rare-earth tantalates and niobates(REjTaO7 and REjNbO7)have been considered as promising candidate thermal barrier coating(TBC)materials in next generation gas-turbine engines due to their ultra-low thermal conductivity and better thermal stability than yttria-stabilized zirconia(YSZ).However,the low Vickers hardness and toughness are the main shortcomings of RE;TaO-and REjNbOr that limit their applications as TBC materials.To increase the hardness,high entropy(Yu3Ybu3Er/3)sTaOr,(Y13YbnErns)NbO,and(Sm1/6Eu1/6Y 1/6Yb1/6Lu1/6Er1/6)3(Nb1/2Ta1/2)O7 are designed and synthesized in this study.These high entropy ceramics exhibit high Vickers hardness(10.912.0 GPa),close thermal expansion coefficients to that of single-principal-component RE3TaO,and RE;NbO,(7.9×10^-6-10.8×10-6 C-1 at room temperature),good phase stability,and good chemical compatibility with thermally grown Al2O3,which make them promising for applications as candidate TBC materials.Zifan ZHAO Heng CHEN Huimin XIANG Fu-Zhi DAI Xiaohui WANG Wei XU Kuang SUN Zhjjian PENG Yanchun ZHOU 2020Journal of Advanced Ceramics2020,9,3:27
3High entropy(Y0.2Yb0.2Lu0.2Eu0.2Er0.2)3Al5O12:A novel high temperature stable thermal barrier material显示文摘Ytterbium aluminum garnet(Yb3Al5O12)is considered as a promising thermal barrier material.However,the main limitations of Yb3Al5O12 for thermal barrier applications are relative low thermal expansion coefficient and high thermal conductivity.In order to overcome these obstacles,herein,a new high entropy(Y0.2Yb0.2Lu0.2Eu0.2Er0.2)3Al5O12 ceramic was designed,and then powders and bulk were prepared through solid-state reaction method and spark plasma sintering(SPS),respectively.The thermal expansion coefficient of HE(Y0.2Yb0.2Lu0.2Eu0.2Er0.2)3Al5O12 is(8.54±0.29)×10^-6 K^-1 at 673 K–1273 K,which is about 9%higher than that of Yb3Al5O12.The thermal conductivity of HE(Y0.2Yb0.2Lu0.2Eu0.2Er0.2)3Al5O12 ceramic is 3.81 W·m^-1 K^-1 at 300 K,which is about 18%lower than that of Yb3Al5O12.Moreover,there is no reaction between HE(Y0.2Yb0.2Lu0.2Eu0.2Er0.2)3Al5O12 and thermally grown(TG)Al2O3 even at 1600℃.After annealing at 1590℃for 18 h,the average grain size of HE(Y0.2Yb0.2Lu0.2Eu0.2Er0.2)3Al5O12 increases only from 1.56μm to 2.27μm.Close thermal expansion coefficient to TG Al2O3,low thermal conductivity,good phase stability,excellent chemical compatibility with TG Al2O3 and slow grain growth rate make HE(Y0.2Yb0.2Lu0.2Eu0.2Er0.2)3Al5O12 promising for thermal barrier applications.Heng Chen Zifan Zhao Huimin Xiang Fu-Zhi Dai Wei Xu Kuang Sun Jiachen Liu Yanchun Zhou 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,47,13:14
4Circulating miR-125a but not miR-125b is decreased in active disease status and negatively correlates with disease severity as well as inflammatory cytokines in patients with Crohn's disease显示文摘AIM To determine the association of circulating mi R-125 a/b expression with the risk and disease severity of Crohn's disease(CD), and with inflammatory cytokines.METHODS Plasma samples were collected from patients with active CD(A-CD), or CD in remission(R-CD) and from healthy controls(HCs). The levels of the inflammatory cytokines interleukin-17(IL-17), tumour necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), and interferon-γ(IFN-γ) were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The expression of mi R-125 a/b was assessed by quantitative polymerase chain reaction(q PCR).RESULTS Twenty-nine A-CD patients, 37 R-CD patients, and 37 HCs were included in the study. Plasma mi R-125 a expression was decreased in A-CD patients comparedwith that in R-CD patients(P < 0.001) and HCs(P < 0.001). mi R-125 a expression levels enabled the differentiation of A-CD from R-CD patients [area under curve(AUC) = 0.854] and from HCs(AUC = 0.780), whereas mi R-125 b expression did not. mi R-125 a was negatively correlated with C-reaction protein(CRP)(P = 0.017), erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR)(P = 0.026), Crohn's disease activity index(CDAI)(P = 0.003), IL-17(P = 0.015), and TNF-α(P = 0.004) in A-CD patients. Furthermore, mi R-125 a was negatively associated with CRP(P = 0.038) and CDAI(P = 0.021) in R-CD patients. Regarding mi R-125 b, no association with CRP, CDAI, IL-17, TNF-α, or IFN-γ was found in A-CD or in R-CD patients. mi R-125 a levels gradually increased in A-CD patients who achieved clinical remission(P = 0.009) after 3-mo treatment, whereas they remained unchanged among patients who failed to achieve remission. No changes in mi R-125 b expression were detected in remission or non-remission patients after treatment. 5Restoration of electrical microenvironment enhances bone regeneration under diabetic conditions by modulating macrophage polarization显示文摘Macrophage-mediated inflammation compromises bone repair in diabetic patients.Electrical signaling cues are known to regulate macrophage functions.However,the biological effects of electrical microenvironment from charged biomaterials on the immune response for regulating osteogenesis under diabetic conditions remain to be elucidated.Herein the endogeneous electrical microenvironment of native bone tissue was recapitulated by fabricating a ferroelectric BaTiO_(3)/poly(vinylidene fluoridetrifluoroethylene)(BTO/P(VDF-TrFE))nanocomposite membrane.In vitro,the polarized BaTiO_(3)/poly(vinylidene fluoridetrifluoroethylene)(BTO/P(VDF-TrFE))nanocomposite membranes inhibited high glucose-induced M1-type inflammation,by effecting changes in cell morphology,M1 marker expression and pro-inflammatory cytokine secretion in macrophages.This led to enhanced osteogenic differentiation of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BM-MSCs).In vivo,the biomimetic electrical microenvironment recapitulated by the polarized nanocomposite membranes switched macrophage phenotype from the pro-inflammatory(M1)into the pro-healing(M2)phenotype,which in turn enhanced bone regeneration in rats with type 2 diabetes mellitus.Mechanistic studies revealed that the biomimetic electrical microenvironment attenuated pro-inflammatory M1 macrophage polarization under hyperglycemic conditions by suppressing expression of AKT2 and IRF5 within the PI3K-AKT signaling pathway,thereby inducing favorable osteo-immunomodulatory effects.Our study thus provides fundamental insights into the biological effects of restoring the electrical microenvironment conducive for osteogenesis under DM conditions,and offers an effective strategy to design functionalized biomaterials for bone regeneration therapy in diabetic patients.Xiaohan Dai Boon Chin Heng Yunyang Bai Fuping You Xiaowen Sun Yiping Li Zhangui Tang Mingming Xu Xuehui Zhang Xuliang Deng 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,7:9

7High-entropy(Y0.2Nd0.2Sm0.2Eu0.2Er0.2)AlO3:A promising thermal/environmental barrier material for oxide/oxide composites显示文摘Yttrium aluminum perovskite(YAl O3)is a promising candidate material for environmental barrier coatings(EBCs)to protect Al2 O3 f/Al2 O3 ceramic matrix composites(CMCs)from the corrosion of high-temperature water vapor in combustion environments.Nevertheless,the relatively high thermal conductivity is a notable drawback of YAl O3 for environmental barrier coating application.Herein,in order to make REAl O3 more thermal insulating,a novel high-entropy rare-earth aluminate ceramic(Y0.2Nd0.2Sm0.2Eu0.2Er0.2)AlO3 was designed and synthesized.The as-prepared(Y0.2Nd0.2Sm0.2Eu0.2Er0.2)AlO3 ceramic possesses close thermal expansion coefficient(9.02×10-6/oC measured from room temperature to 1200℃)to that of Al2 O3.The thermal conductivity of(Y0.2Nd0.2Sm0.2Eu0.2Er0.2)AlO3 at room temperature is 4.1 W·m-1K-1,which is almost one third of the value of YAl O3.Furthermore,to effectively prevent the penetration of water vapor from possible pores/cracks of coating layer,which are often observed in T/EBCs,a tri-layer EBC system REAl O3/RE3 Al5 O12/(Al2 O3 f/Al2 O3 CMCs)is designed.Close thermal expansion coefficient to Al2 O3 and low thermal conductivity of(Y0.2Nd0.2Sm0.2Eu0.2Er0.2)AlO3,as well as the formation of dense garnet layer at(Y0.2Nd0.2Sm0.2Eu0.2Er0.2)AlO3/Al2 O3 interface,indicate that this new type of high-entropy ceramic is suitable as a candidate environmental barrier coating material for Al2 O3 f/Al2 O3 CMCs.Zifan Zhao Heng Chen Huimin Xiang Fu-Zhi Dai Xiaohui Wang Wei Xu Kuang Sun Zhijian Peng Yanchun Zhou 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,47,12:9

9EFFECTS OF VITAMIN D RECEPTOR GENE POLYMORPHISMS ON SUSCEPTIBILITY TO TYPE 1 DIABETES MELLITUS显示文摘Objective To investigate the influence of vitamin D receptor (VDR) gene polymorphisms on susceptibility to type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) in the Chinese Han population. Method One hundred and thirty-six Chinese Han people, including 54 T1DM patients and 82 unrelated healthy subjects as control were genotyped by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism for three restriction sites in the VDR gene, which were ApaI, TaqI, and BamI. Results The frequency of B allele of BsmI site in VDR gene was significantly higher in T1DM patients than in healthy subjects (P = 0.033) while no difference was found between the two groups in the distribution of ApaI and TaqI polymorphisms. 10Expanded endoscopic therapy criteria should be cautiously used in intramucosal gastric cancer显示文摘Objective: Accurate estimation of lymph node metastasis(LNM) in intramucosal gastric cancer is essential to select less invasive treatment options and even avoid surgery. The aim of this study was to evaluate combined clinicopathological features to predict the presence of LNM.Methods: A retrospective review of data from 386 intramucosal gastric cancer patients who underwent gastrectomy with extended lymphadenectomy from 2003 to 2010 was conducted. The mutual relation between clinicopathological characteristics and LNM was analyzed.Results: LNM was detected in 40(10.4%) of the 386 patients. Histological type and vascular or lymphatic invasion presence showed a positive correlation with LNM occurrence by univariate analysis. Multivariate analysis revealed that histological type was the only factor associated with LNM. Combined clinicopathologic characteristics would be more predictable for LNM. We found no LNM when we used combined clinicopathological characteristics conforming to Japanese absolute indications for endoscopic therapy. The LNM rate was as high as 8.7% when Japanese expanded criteria were used. Univariate analysis in cancer conformity to expand endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD) indication also revealed that the undifferential type was the only significant factor for LNM.Conclusions: It was possible to predict intramucosal gastric cancer cases without LNM using combined clinicopathological characteristic analysis. 12The localization of type 2 diabetes susceptibility gene loci in northern Chinese Han families显示文摘We conducted a genome-wide scan, in which 358 well distributed fluorescent dye-labeled microsatellite marker sets were applied in 32 Chinese Han type 2 diabetes families from Northern China to search for the susceptibility gene loci. The data collected from screening all the chromosomes of genome were genotyped by using genescan and genotyping software, then, parametric and non-parametric multipoint test, and affected sib-pair analysis as well, were used to analyze the data. We identified some susceptibility gene loci residing in chromosomes 1,12,18,20, respectively, or precisely, located around D1S214, D1S207, D1S218, D1S235, D12S336, D18S61 and D20S118. 14CmFTL2 is involved in the photoperiod- and sucrose-mediated control of flowering time in chrysanthemum显示文摘The chrysanthemum genome harbors three FT-like genes:CmFTL1 and CmFTL3 are thought to act as regulators of floral induction under long-day(LD)and short-day(SD)conditions,respectively,whereas the function of CmFTL2 is currently unclear.The objective of the present research was to explore the function of CmFTL2 in the determination of flowering time of the photo-insensitive chrysanthemum cultivar‘Floral Yuuka’,both in response to variation in the photoperiod and to the exogenous provision of sucrose.Spraying leaves of‘Floral Yuuka’plants with 50 mM sucrose accelerated flowering and increased the level of CmFTL2 transcription in the leaf more strongly than either CmFTL1 or FTL3 under both long and SD conditions.Transcription profiling indicated that all three CmFTL genes were upregulated during floral induction.The relationship of the CmFTL2 sequence with that of other members of the PEBP family suggested that its product contributes to the florigen rather than to the anti-florigen complex.The heterologous expression of CmFTL2 in the Arabidopsis thaliana ft-10 mutant rescued the mutant phenotype,showing that CmFTL2 could compensate for the absence of FT.These results suggest that CmFTL2 acts as a regulator of floral transition and responds to both the photoperiod and sucrose.Jing Sun Heng Wang Liping Ren Sumei Chen Fadi Chen Jiafu Jiang 2017Horticulture Research2017,4,1:7

17RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HEMOGLOBIN A1C AND BLOOD GLUCOSE THROUGHOUT THE DAY IN WELL-GLYCEMIC-CONTROLLED MEDICAL NUTRITION THERAPY ALONE TYPE 2 DIABETIC PATIENTS显示文摘Objective To investigate the relationship between glycosylated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) and blood glucose levels of eight different points throughout the day in well-glycemic-controlled medical nutrition therapy (MNT) alone type 2 diabetic patients. Methods Data were collected as capillary blood glucose value of eight different sample points among sixteen observing days in thirty MNT alone type 2 diabetic patients. The correlation between HbA1c and capillary blood glucose value was evaluated by Pearson’s correlation method. Results The r-values between HbA1c and capillary blood glucose of 3:00, 6:00, and bedtime (22:00-23:00) were 0.81, 0.79, and 0.78, respectively(P<0.001). The best correlation was found between the mean value of 8-point blood glucose value throughout the day and HbA1c (r=0.84, P<0.001). 19Identification of Serum Exosomal MicroRNA Expression Profiling in Menopausal Females with Osteoporosis by High-throughput Sequencing显示文摘Estrogen deficiency,which mainly occurs in postmenopausal women,is a primary reason for osteoporosis in clinical diagnosis.However,the molecular regulation of osteoporosis in menopausal females is still not adequately explained in the literature,with the diagnosis and treatment for osteoporosis being limited.Herein,exosomal microRNAs(miRNAs)were used to evaluate their diagnosis and prediction effects in menopausal females with osteoporosis.In this study,6 menopausal females without osteoporosis and 12 menopausal females with osteoporosis were enrolled.The serum exosomes were isolated,and the miRNA expression was detected by miRNA high-throughput sequencing.Exosomal miRNA effects were analyzed by Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes analyses.The miRNA-targeted genes were evaluated by Targetscan 7.2 and the protein-protein interactions(PPI)by STRING.Hub genes were analyzed by the CytoHubba app of Cytoscape.The results showed that 191 aberrant miRNAs were found in the group of menopausal females with osteoporosis,including 72 upregulated miRNAs and 121 downregulated miRNAs.Aberrant miRNAs were involved in many signaling pathways,such as the Wnt,MAPK,and Hippo pathways.Based on PPI network analysis,FBXL3,FBXL13,COPS2,UBE2D3,DCUN1D1,DCUN1D4,CUL3,FBXO22,ASB6,and COMMD2 were the 10 most notable genes in the PPI network.In conclusion,aberrant serum exosomal miRNAs were associated with an altered risk of osteoporosis in menopausal females and may act as potential biomarkers for the prediction of risk of osteoporosis in menopausal females.Jian-li SHAO Heng LI Xiao-rong ZHANG Xia ZHANG Zhi-zhong LI Gen-long JIAO Guo-dong SUN 2020Current Medical Science2020,40,6:6
20Atomic Fe-Zn dual-metal sites for high-efficiency pH-universal oxygen reduction catalysis显示文摘An effective electrocatalyst being highly active in all pH range for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)is crucial for energy conversion and storage devices.However,most of the high-efficiency ORR catalysis was reported in alkaline conditions.Herein,we demonstrated the preparation of atomically dispersed Fe-Zn pairs anchored on porous N-doped carbon frameworks(Fe-Zn-SA/NC),which works efficiently as ORR catalyst in the whole pH range.It achieves high half-wave potentials of 0.78,0.85 and 0.72 V in 0.1 M HClO4,0.1 M KOH and 0.1 M phosphate buffer saline(PBS)solutions,respectively,as well as respectable stability.The performances are even comparable to Pt/C.Furthermore,when assembled into a Zn-air battery,the high power density of 167.2 mWcm−2 and 120 h durability reveal the feasibility of Fe-Zn-SA/NC in real energy-related devices.Theoretical calculations demonstrate that the superior catalytic activity of Fe-Zn-SA/NC can be contributed to the lower energy barriers of ORR at the Fe-Zn-N6 centers.This work demonstrates the potential of Fe-Zn pairs as alternatives to the Pt catalysts for efficient catalytic ORR and provides new insights of dual-atom catalysts for other energy conversion related catalytic reactions.Jie Xu Shuhua Lai Defeng Qi Min Hu Xianyun Peng Yifan Liu Wei Liu Guangzhi Hu Heng Xu Fan Li Chao Li Jia He Longchao Zhuo Jiaqiang Sun Yuan Qiu Shusheng Zhang Jun Luo Xijun Liu 2021Nano Research2021,14,5:6
