1Aerosol and boundary-layer interactions and impact on air quality显示文摘Air quality is concerned with pollutants in both the gas phase and solid or liquid phases. The latter are referred to as aerosols, which are multifaceted agents affecting air quality, weather and climate through many mechanisms. Unlike gas pollutants, aerosols interact strongly with meteorological variables with the strongest interactions taking place in the planetary boundary layer(PBL). The PBL hosting the bulk of aerosols in the lower atmosphere is affected by aerosol radiative effects. Both aerosol scattering and absorption reduce the amount of solar radiation reaching the ground and thus reduce the sensible heat fluxes that drive the diurnal evolution of the PBL. Moreover, aerosols can increase atmospheric stability by inducing a temperature inversion as a result of both scattering and absorption of solar radiation, which suppresses dispersion of pollutants and leads to further increases in aerosol concentration in the lower PBL.Such positive feedback is especially strong during severe pollution events. Knowledge of the PBL is thus crucial for understanding the interactions between air pollution and meteorology. 4Mechanisms underlying attenuation of apoptosis of cortical neurons in the hypoxic brain by flavonoids from the stems and leaves of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi显示文摘Flavonoids from the stems and leaves of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi, an antioxidant, markedly improve memory impairments and neuronal injuries. In the present study, primary cortical neurons of rats were exposed to potassium cyanide to establish a model of in vitro neural cell apoptosis. Inhibition of apoptosis by flavonoids from the stems and leaves of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi at concentrations of 18.98, 37.36, and 75.92 μg/mL was detected using this model. These flavonoids dramatically increased cell survival, inhibited cell apoptosis and excessive production of malondialdehyde, and increased the activities of superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, and Na+-K+-ATPase in primary cortical neurons exposed to potassium cyanide. The flavonoids from the stems and leaves of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi were originally found to have a polyhydric structure and to protect against cerebral hypoxia in in vitro and in vivo models, including hypoxia induced by potassium cyanide or cerebral ischemia. 5Simultaneous hepatic resection benefits patients with synchronous colorectal cancer liver metastases显示文摘Objective: The safety of the simultaneous resection of synchronous colorectal cancer liver metastases(SCRLM) is still being debated.However, this simultaneous operative approach is more commonly adopted at present than in the past.Therefore, we compared simultaneous hepatic resection with delayed hepatic resection in this study.Methods: All patients with SCRLM diagnosed before initial treatment between January 2009 and September 2013 were retrospectively included in our study.Short-term and long-term outcomes were compared in patients who underwent simultaneous colorectal and hepatic resection and those treated by delayed hepatectomy.Results: Among the 73 patients diagnosed with SCRLM, simultaneous colorectal and hepatic resection was performed in 60 patients(82.2%), while delayed hepatic resection was performed in 13 patients(17.8%).The mortality rate was zero.The postoperative complication rate after delayed resection was higher than, but not significantly different from, that after simultaneous resection(46% vs.23%, P=0.166).The duration of operating time(240 vs.420 min, P<0.05) and postoperative hospital stay time(11 vs.18 days, P<0.05) were shorter in the simultaneous resection group.After the initial treatments were given, the 1-, 2-, and 3-year survival rates in the simultaneous resection group were 77%, 59%, and 53%, respectively, whereas those in the delayed resection group were 67%, 42%, and 10%, respectively.The 5-year survival rate in the simultaneous resection group was 23%; overall survival differed significantly between the two groups(P=0.037).Median disease-free survival(DFS) times were 19.1 months in the simultaneous resection group and 8.8 months in the delayed resection group.DFS differed significantly between the two groups.Conclusions: Simultaneous colorectal and hepatic resection is safe and exhibits advantages in the longtime survival of patients.Yuan Li Xinyu Bi Jianjun Zhao Zhen Huang Jianguo Zhou Zhiyu Li Yefan Zhang Hong Zhao Jianqiang Cai 2016Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2016,28,5:7
6Combined transplantation of GDAs^(BMP) and hr-decorin in spinal cord contusion repair显示文摘Following spinal cord injury, astrocyte proliferation and scar formation are the main factors inhibiting the regeneration and growth of spinal cord axons. Recombinant decorin suppresses inflammatory reactions, inhibits glial scar formation, and promotes axonal growth. Rat models of T8 spinal cord contusion were created with the NYU impactor and these models were subjected to combined transplantation of bone morphogenetic protein-4-induced glial-restricted precursor-derived astrocytes and human recombinant decorin transplantation. At 28 days after spinal cord contusion, double-immunofluorescent histochemistry revealed that combined transplantation inhibited the early inflammatory response in injured rats. Furthermore, brain-derived neurotrophic factor, which was secreted by transplanted cells, protected injured axons. 7Epidemiology of urticaria in China:a population-based study显示文摘Background:Urticaria is a common skin disease characterized by episodes of wheals,and it has a negative effect on patients’quality of life.Large-scale population-based epidemiological studies of urticaria are scarce in China.The aim of this survey was to determine the prevalence,clinical forms,and risk factors of urticaria in the Chinese population.Methods:This survey was conducted in 35 cities from 31 provinces,autonomous regions,and municipalities of China.Two to three communities in each city were selected in this investigation.Participants completed questionnaires and received dermatological examinations.We analyzed the prevalence,clinical forms,and risk factors of urticaria.Results:In total,44,875 questionnaires were distributed and 41,041 valid questionnaires were collected(17,563 male and 23,478 female participants).The lifetime prevalence of urticaria was 7.30%,with 8.26%in female and 6.34%in male individuals(P<0.05).The point prevalence of urticaria was 0.75%,with 0.79%in female and 0.71%in male individuals(P<0.05).Concomitant angioedema was found in 6.16%of patients.Adults had a higher prevalence of urticaria than adolescents and children.Living in urban areas,exposure to pollutants,an anxious or depressed psychological status,a personal and family history of allergy,thyroid diseases,and Helicobacter pylori infection were associated with a higher prevalence of urticaria.Smoking was correlated with a reduced risk of urticaria.Conclusion:This study demonstrated that the lifetime prevalence of urticaria was 7.30%and the point prevalence was 0.75%in the Chinese population;women had a higher prevalence of urticaria than men.Various factors were correlated with urticaria.Jiaqing Li Dandan Mao Shuoshuo Liu Ping Liu Jing Tian Chenhong Xue Xiaojing Liu Ruiqun Qi Bingxue Bai Jianjun Nie Siqi Ye Yu Wang Yuye Li Qing Sun Juan Tao Shuping Guo Hong Fang Jianqin Wang Qiri Mu Quanzhong Liu Yan Ding Jianzhong Zhang 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,11:6
8Clinicopathological features and surgical outcomes of four rare subtypes of primary liver carcinoma显示文摘Objective:This study aimed to analyze clinicopathological and prognostic features of four rare pathological subtypes of primary liver malignancies to make better understanding of their clinical features.Methods:The clinicopathological data of 114 patients who were diagnosed with histologically proven four subtypes:clear cell carcinoma(CCC),giant cell carcinoma(GCC),sarcomatoid carcinoma(SC),and combined hepatocellular-cholangiocarcinoma(CHC)between October 1998 and August 2015 were reviewed.Their survival data were compared with those of 908 patients with histologically proven common hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)(early-and advanced-stage HCC)during the same period.Results:The outcome of the CCC group was better than that of the other three subgroups,and was similar to that of the early-stage HCC group.Also,the smallest tumor size and the highest incidence of pseudocapsule formation were observed in the CCC group.The SC group had the worst outcome among these four subgroups;the prognosis was much poorer than that of any other subgroups,even poorer than that of the advanced-stage common HCC group.No statistical difference was observed between the GCC,CHC and advanced-stage HCC groups on survival analysis.The incidences of tumor vascular emboli,TNM staging and non-radical resection were three risk factors of the prognosis.Conclusions:CCC is a low-degree malignancy and relatively favorably prognostic subtype of HCC.However,GCC,SC,and CHC are three rare high-degree malignancy subtypes of HCC with poor prognosis.Zhiyu Li Xiaolong Wu Xinyu Bi Yefan Zhang Zhen Huang Haizhen Lu Hong Zhao Jianjun Zhao Jianguo Zhou Muxing Li Jianming Ying Jianqiang Cai 2018Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2018,30,3:6

11Neoadjuvant radiotherapy for resectable hepatocellular carcinoma with portal vein tumor thrombus:a systematic review显示文摘Background:The prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)with portal vein tumor thrombus(PVTT)is extremely poor.The clinical outcome of preoperative radiotherapy(RT)is still controversial.This study aimed to compare the clinical outcomes of combined neoadjuvant RT and hepatectomy with hepatectomy alone for HCC with PVTT.Methods:Comprehensive database searches were performed in PubMed,the Cochrane Library,EMBASE,and the Web of Science to retrieve studies published from the database creation to July 1,2020.Only comparative studies that measured survival between neoadjuvant RT followed by hepatectomy and hepatectomy alone were included.The characteristics of the included studies and patients were extracted,and the included data are presented as relative ratio(RR)estimates with 95%confidence intervals(CIs)for all outcomes.The RRs of each study were pooled using a fixed or random effects model with Review Manager(the Cochrane Collaboration,Oxford,UK)version 5.3.The response rate to RT and the overall survival(OS)rate in neoadjuvant RT followed by hepatectomy and hepatectomy alone were measured.Results:One randomized and two non-randomized controlled trials with 302 patients were included.Most patients were classified as Child-Pugh A,and Type II and III PVTT were the most common types.After RT,29(22.8%)patients were evaluated as partial response(PR)and had a positive RT response,but nine(7.1%)had progressive disease(PD).Neoadjuvant RT followed by hepatectomy was received by 127(42.1%)patients after excluding 15(5.0%)patients with severe complications or PD after RT,and 160(53.0%)patients received hepatectomy alone.In the randomized controlled trial(RCT),the 1-year OS rate in the neoadjuvant RT group and the surgery alone group was 75.2%and 43.1%,respectively(P<0.001).In the two non-randomized studies,a meta-analysis with a fixed effects model showed a longer OS in patients undergoing neoadjuvant RT followed by hepatectomy compared with hepatectomy alone at 1-year follow-up(RR=2.02;95%CI:1.45-2.80;P<0.0001).Conclusions:This systematic review showed that neoadjuvant RT followed by hepatectomy in patients with resectable HCC and PVTT was associated with a longer OS than patients who received hepatectomy alone.Zhewen Wei Jianjun Zhao Xinyu Bi Yefan Zhang Jianguo Zhou Zhiyu Li Zhen Huang Hong Zhao Jianqiang Cai 2022Hepatobiliary Surgery and Nutrition2022,11,5:4
12Seasonal variation and size distribution of biogenic secondary organic aerosols at urban and continental background sites of China显示文摘Size-resolved biogenic secondary organic aerosols(BSOA) derived from isoprene and monoterpene photooxidation in Qinghai Lake, Tibetan Plateau(a continental background site) and five cities of China were measured using gas chromatography/mass spectrometry(GC/MS). Concentrations of the determined BSOA are higher in the cities than in the background and are also higher in summer than in winter. Moreover, strong positive correlations(R2= 0.44–0.90) between BSOA and sulfate were found at the six sites,suggesting that anthropogenic pollution(i.e., sulfate) could enhance SOA formation,because sulfate provides a surface favorable for acid-catalyzed formation of BSOA. Size distribution measurements showed that most of the determined SOA tracers are enriched in the fine mode(< 3.3 μm) except for cis-pinic and cis-pinonic acids, both presented a comparable mass in the fine and coarse(> 3.3 μm) modes, respectively. Mass ratio of oxidation products derived from isoprene to those from monoterpene in the five urban regions during summer are much less than those in Qinghai Lake region. In addition, in the five urban regions relative abundances of monoterpene oxidation products to SOA are much higher than those of isoprene. 13Ultra-high-Q resonances in terahertz all-silicon metasurfaces based on bound states in the continuum显示文摘High-Q metasurfaces have important applications in high-sensitivity sensing,low-threshold lasers,and nonlinear optics due to the strong local electromagnetic field enhancements.Although ultra-high-Q resonances of bound states in the continuum(BIC)metasurfaces have been rapidly developed in the optical regime,it is still a challenging task in the terahertz band for long years because of absorption loss of dielectric materials,design,and fabrication of nanostructures,and the need for high-signal-to-noise ratio and high-resolution spectral measurements.Here,a polarization-insensitive quasi-BIC resonance with a high-Q factor of 1049 in a terahertz all-silicon metasurface is experimentally achieved,exceeding the current highest record by 3 times of magnitude.And by using this ultra-high-Q metasurface,a terahertz intensity modulation with very low optical pump power is demonstrated.The proposed all-silicon metasurface can pave the way for the research and development of high-Q terahertz metasurfaces.PENGFEI WANG FENGYAN HE JIANJUN LIU FANGZHOU SHU BIN FANG TINGTING LANG XUFENG JING ZHI HONG 2022Photonics Research2022,10,12:4
14PARP inhibitor reduces proliferation and increases apoptosis in breast cancer cells显示文摘Objective: Apoptosis is a reliable marker of chemotherapeutic efficacy. Olaparib and paclitaxel inhibit proliferation and induce apoptosis in a variety of cancers. We investigated the effects of paclitaxel combined with olaparib on apoptosis in breast cancer Bcap37 cells.Methods: Proliferation and apoptosis were detected by MTT assay and PI staining. Degradation of procaspase-3 and poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase(PARP) was analyzed by Western blotting.Results: Compared with paclitaxel alone, paclitaxel combined with 100 mg olaparib significantly reduced survival in Bcap37 cells at all tested treatment durations(P<0.05); inhibition increased with increasing olaparib dose and treatment time(P<0.01). Combined treatment yielded significantly higher rates of apoptosis(P<0.05), which also increased with time(P<0.01). Fluorescence micrographs showed that early and late apoptotic cells increased with treatment time. Pro-caspase-3 and PARP degradation was induced by paclitaxel and enhanced by olaparib in a dose-dependent manner. Thus, combined treatment was substantially more effective than treatment with paclitaxel alone.Conclusions: Our findings suggest that paclitaxel and olaparib inhibit breast cancer Bcap37 cell proliferation and induce apoptosis. 15Effects of magnesium on the performance of sows and their piglets显示文摘The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of supplemental magnesium(Mg) on the performance of gilts and parity 3 sows and their piglets.Fifty-six gilts(Trial 1) and 56 sows(Trial 2) were assigned to one of 4treatments according to their mating weight,respectively.The treatments comprised corn-soybean meal based gestation and lactation diets(0.21%magnesium) supplemented with 0,0.015,0.03,or 0.045%Mg from mating until weaning.The results showed that magnesium supplementation significantly(P < 0.05) reduced the weaning to estrus interval in both gilts and sows.There were significant effects(P < 0.05) of supplemental magnesium on the total number of piglets born,born alive and weaned in sows.In late gestation and lactation,the digestibility of crude fiber(quadratic effects,P< 0.05),and crude protein(P< 0.05),were significantly influenced by magnesium in gilts and sows,respectively.There were differences among the 4 groups in terms of the apparent digestibility of dry matter and crude fiber in sows(P< 0.05) during both early and late gestation.The apparent digestibility of gross energy was increased for sows in late gestation(P< 0.05),and lactation(quadratic effects,P< 0.05).At farrowing and weaning,serum prolactin levels and alkaline phosphate activities linearly increased in sows as the Mg supplementation increased(P < 0.05).Serum Mg of sows at farrowing and serum urea nitrogen of sows at weaning was significantly influenced by Mg supplementation(P< 0.05).The Mg concentration in sow colostrum and the serum of their piglets were increased by supplemental magnesium(P < 0.05).In addition,growth hormone levels were linearly elevated(P< 0.05) in the serum of piglets suckling sows.Our data demonstrated that supplemental magnesium has the potential to improve the reproduction performance of sows,and the suitable supplemental dose ranged from 0.015%to 0.03%.Jianjun Zang Jingshu Chen Ji Tian Aina Wang Hong Liu Shengdi Hu Xiangrong Che Yongxi Ma Junjun Wang Chunlin Wang Guanghua Du Xi Ma 2015Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2015,6,1:3
16Novel smart supramolecular metallo-hydrogel that could selectively recognize and effectively remove Pb^(2+) in aqueous solution显示文摘A series of novel and simple ligands based on a biscarboxyl-functionalized benzimidazole derivative were synthesized.The experiments showed that the ligand L2 as a low molecular weight(LMW) hydrogelator could form stable metallo-hydrogels in the presence of up to 0.3 equiv.of lead ions.The metallo-hydrogels were characterized using powder X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) spectroscopic techniques.When the molar ratio of L2:Pb2+ was in the range of 1:0.3 to 1:0.5 a translucent gel was produced.When the L2:Pb2+ molar ratio was higher than 1:0.5 the resulting gel tended to be opaque.The morphologies of these metallo-hydrogels were L2/Pb ratio dependent,ranging from worm-like to rod-shaped and nanofibrous.The FT-IR and X-ray diffraction(XRD) studies revealed that L2-Pb complexation was the main driving force for the formation of the metallo-hydrogels.In addition,these metallo-hydrogels exhibited outstanding thermostability and thermoreversibility,and displayed a reversible sol-gel transition induced by changes in pH and EDTA concentration.Importantly,ligand L2 showed an excellent capacity for the removal of Pb 2+ in aqueous solution through the formation of metallo-hydrogels.At a L2:Pb molar ratio of 1:0.5 and below,the concentration of residual Pb2+ was as low as 7.6×10-5 mol/L in aqueous solution,and the removal ratio was as high as 95.4%.These results demonstrate that multi-channel responsive smart metallo-hydrogels have the potential to be widely applied in materials science,and might provide the basis for lead pollution capture and removal.WEI TaiBao DANG JianPeng LIN Qi YAO Hong LIU Yong ZHANG WanQiang MING JianJun ZHANG YouMing 2012Science China Chemistry2012,55,12:3
17Analysis of unmanned aerial vehicle navigation and height control system based on GPS显示文摘According to the characteristic of global positioning system(GPS) reflection signals,a GPS delay mapping receiver system scheme is put forward,which not only satisfies the unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) guidance localization but also realizes height measurement.A code delay algorithm is put forward,which processes the direct and land reflected signal and outputs the navigation data and specular point.The GPS terrain reflected echo signal mathematical equation is inferred.The reflecting signal area,when the GPS signal passes the land,is analyzed.The height survey model reflected land surface characteristic is established.A simulation system which carries guidance localization of the UAV and the height measuring control through the GPS direct signal and the land reflected signal is designed,taken the GPS satellite as the illumination source,the receiver is put on the UAV.Then the UAV guidance signal,the GPS reflection signal and receiver's parallel processing are realized.The parallel processing reduces UAV's payload and raises system's operating efficiency.The simulation results confirms the validity of the model and also provides the basis for the UAV's optimization design.Jianjun Zhang Hong Yuan 2010Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2010,21,4:2

20Calcium ion pinned vanadium oxide cathode for high-capacity and long-life aqueous rechargeable zinc-ion batteries显示文摘Rechargeable aqueous zinc ion batteries (ZIBs),with the easy operation,cost effectiveness,and high safety,are emerging candidates for high-energy wearable/portable energy storage systems.Unfortunately,the unsatisfactory energy density and undesired long-term cycling performance of the cathode hinder the development of ZIBs.Here,we report the chemical preintercalation of a small amount of calcium ions into V2O5 as the cathode material.The cathode of Ca0.04V2O5·1.74H2O (CVO)was demonstrated to have a high specific capacity of 400 mA h g^-1at the current density of 0.05 A g^-1and 187 mA h g^-1at 10 A g^-1,along with impressive capacity retention (100%capacity retention at 10 A g^-1 for 3,000 cycles).Meanwhile,the CVO//Zn battery exhibits a high energy density of 308 Wh kg^-1and a power density of 467 W kg^-1at 0.5 A g^-1.The superior performance originates from the pinning effect of the calcium ions and the lubricating effect of the structural water.The energy storage mechanism of the CVO cathode was also investigated in detail.The new phase (Zn3(OH)2V2O7·2H2O) generated upon cycling participates in the electrochemical reaction and thus contributes to the excellent electrochemical performance.The small amount of Ca^2+ pre-inserted into the interlayer of V2O5 sheds light on constructing cathodes with high energy density for ZIBs.Min Du Feng Zhang Xiaofei Zhang Wentao Dong Yuanhua Sang Jianjun Wang Hong Liu Shuhua Wang 2020Science China Chemistry2020,63,12:2
