1Superior anti-corrosion and self-healing bi-functional polymer composite coatings with polydopamine modified mesoporous silica/graphene oxide显示文摘In this article,graphene oxide(GO)and benzotriazole-loaded mesoporous silica nanoparticles(BTA/MSNs)are combined on micro scale through the in situ polymerization of polydopamine(PDA),preparing a selfhealing bi-functional GO(fGO)used as nano-fillers for anti-corrosion enhancement of waterborne epoxy(WEP)coatings.Scanning electronic microscopy(SEM)images show that the BTA/MSNs are uniformly distributed on the surface of high aspect ratio GO nanosheets to endow GO nanocontainer characteristics.UV-vis profiles demonstrate that fGO has p H-controlled release function.Modulus at lowest frequency is generally used for comparing the corrosion resistance of organic coatings.Modulus at lowest frequency(1.42×10^(5)Ωcm^(2))after 30 days immersion in 3.5 wt.%Na Cl solution revealed 2 orders of magnitude higher that of blank WEP(1.17×10^(7)Ωcm^(2)).With artificial cracks on its coatings,fGO/WEP had no obvious rust compared with blank WEP after 240 h of immersion.We anticipate that self-healing and physical barrier bi-functional nanocontainers improve the traditional anticorrosion coating efficiency with better,longer-lasting performance for shipping,oil drilling or bridge maintenance.Yanqi Ma Haowei Huang Hongda Zhou Michael Graham James Smith Xinxin Sheng Ying Chen Li Zhang Xinya Zhang Elena Shchukina Dmitry Shchukin 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,36:4
2Comparative yield and efficiency of strategies based on risk assessment and fecal immunochemical test in colorectal cancer screening:A cross-sectional population-based analysis显示文摘Objective:Integration of risk stratification into fecal immunochemical test(FIT)might aid in the suboptimal detection of advanced neoplasms by FIT in colorectal cancer(CRC)screening.A comparative study was conducted to evaluate the participation and diagnostic yield of the parallel combination of questionnaire-based risk assessment(QRA)and FIT,FIT-only and QRA-only strategies in a CRC screening program in China.Methods:The study included 29,626 individuals aged 40-74 years and invited to participate in a CRC screening program in China.Participants were first invited to undertake QRA and one-time FIT(OC-sensor).Participants with positive QRA or FIT were deemed to be high-risk individuals who were recommended for subsequent colonoscopy.Participation,detection rate,and resource demand for colonoscopy were calculated and compared.Results:Of the 29,626 invitees,20,203 completed the parallel combination,8,592 completed the QRA-only,and11 completed the FIT-only strategy.For the parallel combination,FIT-only,and QRA-only strategies,the overall positivity rates were 10.2%(2,928/28,806),5.4%(1,096/20,214),and 6.8%(1,944/28,795),respectively;the yield of advanced neoplasm per 10,000 invitees were 46.9[95%confidence interval(95%CI):39.8-55.4],36.8(95%CI:30.5-44.4),and 12.2(95%CI:8.8-16.8),respectively;the positive predictive values for detecting advanced neoplasms among participants who completed colonoscopy were 4.7%(95%CI:4.0%-5.6%),9.9%(95%CI:8.3%-11.9%),and 1.9%(95%CI:1.3%-2.6%),respectively;the number of colonoscopies required to detect one advanced neoplasm was 11.4(95%CI:9.8-13.4),5.7(95%CI:4.8-6.7),and 28.4(95%CI:20.7-39.2),respectively.Conclusions:The parallel combination of QRA and FIT did not show superior efficacy for detecting advanced neoplasm compared with FIT alone in this CRC screening program.Hongda Chen Le Wang Ming Lu Chen Zhu Yunfeng Zhu Weihua Ma Xinmin Chen Lingbin Du Wanqing Chen 2021Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2021,33,4:3

4Effects of inherent potassium on the catalytic performance of Ni/biochar for steam reforming of toluene as a tar model compound显示文摘Biochar supported nickel(Ni/BC)has been widely studied as a cheap and easy-to-prepare catalyst with potential applications in tar reforming during the gasification of low-rank fuels,such as brown coal and biomass.However,the role and behaviors of inherent K species,especially their interactions with Ni particles and the biochar support,are not well understood yet.In this work,three Ni/BC catalysts with varying K amount were prepared from raw,water-washed,and acid-washed biomass.They were used in steam reforming of toluene as a tar model compound to elucidate the effects of inherent K on the catalytic activity and stability.Detailed characterization indicated that K enhanced water adsorption due to its hydroscopicity and lowered the condensation and graphitization degrees of biochar,but the alteration to the electronic state of Ni was not observed.These effects together led to a temperature-dependent role of K.That is,at relatively low temperatures of 450 and 500℃,toluene conversion was increased in the presence of K,due to the increased concentration of adsorbed water around Ni particles.By contrast,at relatively higher temperatures of 550 and 600℃,although initial high activity was achieved,Ni/BC with K deactivated rapidly because of the accelerated consumption of the biochar support.Chen Xu Zhenyi Du Shiqi Yang Hongda Ma Jie Feng 2021Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,7:2

6Environment-friendly preparation of exfoliated graphite and functional graphite sheets显示文摘Exfoliated graphite(EG)is promising oil sorbent as well as an intermediate product for the preparation of flexible graphite films(FGFs).It has been a critical challenge to energy conservation and pollution abatement for the traditional EG production technique.Here,we propose a simple and effective preparation method to acquire EG in which flake graphite is intercalated and exfoliated at room temperature,not involving any pollutant emission.The influence factors in the preparation process were explored,such as the amount of H_(2)SO_(4)and H_(2)O_(2),the temperature for the preparation of room temperature exfoliated graphite(RTEG).In contrast to the EG by high temperature exfoliation(HTEG),RTEG exhibits a homogeneous structure and a significantly increased volume and surface area.Moreover,EG blocks with high oil sorption capacity and excellent reuse performance can be obtained by RTEG method.Especially,FGFs fabricated by RTEG has high flexibility,thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity.It suggests that this environment-friendly technology is suitable for large-scale industrial implementation of graphite-based oil sorbents and flexible materials.Shiyu Hou Shuaijie He Tianle Zhu Jihui Li Liqiang Ma Hongda Du Wanci Shen Feiyu Kang Zheng-Hong Huang 2021Journal of Materiomics2021,7,1:0
7Fluorescence life-time imaging microscopy(FLIM)monitors tumor cell death triggered by photothermal therapy with MoS_(2) nanosheets显示文摘Recently,photothermal therapy(PTT)has been proved to have great potential in tumor therapy.In the last several years,MoS_(2),as one novel member of nanomaterials,has been applied into PTT due to its excellent photothermal conversion efficacy.In this work,we applied fuorescence lifetime imaging microscopy(FLIM)techniques into monitoring the PPT-triggered cell death under MoS_(2) nanosheet treatment.Two types of MoS_(2) nanosheets(single layer nanosheets and few layer nanosheets)were obtained,both of which exhibited presentable photothermal conversion fficacy,leading to high cell death rates of 4T1 cells(mouse breast cancer cells)under PTT.Next,live cell images of 4T1 cells were obtained via directly labeling the mitochondria with Rodamine123,which were then continuously observed with FLIM technique.FLIM data showed that the fuorescence lifetimes of mitochondria targeting dye in cells treated with each type of MoS_(2) nanosheets significantly increased during PTT treatment.By contrast,the fuorescence lifetime of the same dye in control cells(without nanomaterials)remained constant after laser irradiation.These findings suggest that FLIM can be of great value in monitoring cell death process during PTT of cancer cells,which could provide dynamic data of the cellular microenvironment at single cell level in multiple biomedical applications.Hongda Liang Zheng Peng Xiao Peng Yufeng Yuan Teng Ma Yiwan Song Jun Song Junle Qu 2019Journal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences2019,,5:0
8Tumor-targeted self-assembled micelles reducing PD-L1 expression combined with ICIs to enhance chemo-immunotherapy of TNBC显示文摘Immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs)therapy targeting programmed cell death ligand 1(PD-L1)and programmed death protein 1(PD-1)had exhibited significant clinical benefits for cancer treatment such as triple negative breast cancer(TNBC).However,the relatively low anti-tumor immune response rate and ICIs drug resistance highlight the necessity of developing ICIs combination therapy strategies to improve the anti-tumor effect of immunotherapy.Herein,the immunomodulator epigallocatechin gallate palmitate(PEGCG)and the immunoadjuvant metformin(MET)self-assembled into tumor-targeted micelles via hydrogen bond and electrostatic interaction,which encapsulated the therapeutic agents doxorubicin(DOX)-loaded PEGCG-MET micelles(PMD)and combined with ICIs(anti-PD-1 antibody)as therapeutic strategy to reduce the endogenous expression of PD-L1 and improve the tumor immunosuppressive microenvironment.The results presented that PMD integrated chemotherapy and immunotherapy to enhance antitumor efficacy in vitro and in vivo,compared with DOX or anti-PD-1 antibody for the therapy of TNBC.PMD micelles might be a potential candidate,which could remedy the shortcomings of antibody-based ICIs and provide synergistic effect to enhance the antitumor effects of ICIs in tumor therapy.Hongda Zhu Kai Ma Rui Ruan Chaobo Yang Aqin Yan Jing Li Qi Yu Hongmei Sun Mingxing Liu Hongmei Zheng Jing Gao Xiaofang Guan Zhu Dai Yao Sun 2024Chinese Chemical Letters2024,35,2:0
9Variable stiffness wires based on magnetorheological liquid metals显示文摘Magnetorheological fluid(MRF)has shown its great potential in the development of large mechanical devices,such as dampers,shock absorbers,rotary brakes,clutches,and prosthetic joints.Recently,more research focus has been invested on using MRF to develop soft,stretchable,and miniaturized devices with variable stiffness for realizing functionalities that cannot be achieved using solid smart materials.Here,based on liquid metal magnetoactive slurries(LMMS),a variable stiffness wire with excellent electrical conductivity is demonstrated.Without exposure to a magnetic field,the LMMS wire has an extremely low stiffness,and can be easily stretched while maintaining an excellent electrical conductivity.When applying a magnetic field,the wire becomes much stiffer and can retain its shape even under a load.The combination of properties of flexibility,high electrical conductivity,and variable stiffness of the wire is harnessed to make a flexible gripper that can grasp objects of various shapes.Moreover,by using gallium instead of its liquid metal alloys,the tunable stiffness range of the LMMS wire is signifi-cantly enhanced and can be controlled using both external magnetic fields and temperature-induced phase change.The presented LMMS wire has the potential to be applied in flexible electronics,soft robotics and so on.Xiangbo Zhou Jian Shu Hu Jin Hongtai Ren Gang Ma Ning Gong Duan Ge Juan Shi Shi-Yang Tang Guolin Yun Hongda Lu Shuai Dong Xiangpeng Li Shiwu Zhang Weihua Li 2022International Journal of Smart and Nano Materials2022,13,2:0
