1Bio-inspired polygonal skeleton structure for vibration isolation:Design,modelling,and experiment显示文摘Inspired by the safe landing of a cat falling from a high altitude,a bio-inspired polygonal skeleton(BIPS) structure is proposed,and its nonlinear characteristics are systematically studied to explore its potential application in the suppression of vibration. The polygon is formed by the skeleton structure of the cat’s entire body and the ground. The BIPS system consists of two symmetrical bionic legs with three robs(as skeleton) and four horizontal springs(as muscle). Two bionic legs are connected through the bearing platform(as spine),which could adjust the distance between the two bionic legs. A theoretical model is developed to characterize its stiffness nonlinearity through geometrical and mechanical analysis. Parameter analysis reveals that the BIPS structure has diverse stiffness,including nonlinear positive stiffness and negative stiffness. By imitating adjustment of leg posture and telescopic function of the spine(control the distance between legs),these flexible stiffness properties can be adjusted by structure parameters. In addition,the load capacity and working range can also be designed by the length of the bars,the initial angle,the mounting position,and the spring stiffness. The experimental setup is established,and the vibration isolation performance under various excitation is tested. The experimental results verify the accuracy of the dynamic model and also show that the proposed BIPS structure can suppress the vibration effectively under a variety of excitations. 2Design,modeling and experimental investigation of a magnetically modulated rotational energy harvester for low frequency and irregular vibration显示文摘Vibration energy harvesting is a promising approach for sustainable energy generation from ambience to meet the development of self-powered systems.Here,we propose a novel compact non-resonant magnetically modulated rotational energy harvester(MMR-EH)for low frequency and irregular vibration.Through the rational arrangement of multiple magnetic fields in space,a ring route with low potential energy is established.A movable magnet can be non-contact modulated by the magnetic force to move along the ring route under irregular vibration,which is instrumental in electromechanical energy conversion.A dynamic model of the MMR-EH is developed based on the energy method and verified experimentally.The effects of key parameters on the magnetically modulated route are analysed.The simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the MMR-EH can effectively harvest the energy from ultra-low frequency(3 Hz)and irregular vibration.At a reciprocating vibration frequency of 10 Hz and an amplitude of 20 mm,the harvester can produce an average power of 0.29 mW.ZHAO LinChuan ZOU HongXiang GAO QiuHua YAN Ge WU ZhiYuan LIU FengRui WEI KeXiang YANG Bin ZHANG WenMing 2020Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,10:5
3High-average-power, high-repetition-rate tunable terahertz difference frequency generation with GaSe crystal pumped by 2 μm dual-wavelength intracavity KTP optical parametric oscillator显示文摘We have demonstrated a high-average-power,high-repetition-rate optical terahertz(THz)source based on difference frequency generation(DFG)in the GaSe crystal by using a near-degenerate 2μm intracavity KTP optical parametric oscillator as the pump source.The power of the 2μm dual-wavelength laser was up to 12.33 W with continuous tuning ranges of 1988.0–2196.2 nm/2278.4–2065.6 nm for two waves.Different GaSe cystal lengths have been experimentally investigated for the DFG THz source in order to optimize the THz output power,which was in good agreement with the theoretical analysis.Based on an 8 mm long GaSe crystal,the THz wave was continuously tuned from 0.21 to 3 THz.The maximum THz average power of 1.66μW was obtained at repetition rate of 10 kHz under 1.48 THz.The single pulse energy amounted to 166 pJ and the conversion efficiency from 2 μm laser to THz output was 1.68×10^(-6).The signal-to-noise ratio of the detected THz voltage was 23 dB.The acceptance angle of DFG in the GaSe crystal was measured to be 0.16°.DEXIAN YAN YUYE WANG DEGANG XU PENGXIANG LIU CHAO YAN JIA SHI HONGXIANG LIU YIXIN HE LONGHUANG TANG JIANCHEN FENG JIANQIN GUO WEI SHI KAI ZHONG YUEN H.TSANG JIANQUAN YAO 2017Photonics Research2017,5,2:5
4Magnetic levitation using diamagnetism:Mechanism,applications and prospects显示文摘As a typical contact-free manipulation technique that removes friction and contamination risk,levitation has gradually become a preferred candidate for various applications.Magnetic levitation using diamagnetism,beyond Earnshaw’s theorem,is a kind of passive stable levitation that can be achieved at normal temperatures with no energy input.Appealingly,most seemingly nonmagnetic materials can be levitated in a magnetic field and can stabilize free levitation of magnetic materials.This review focuses on the fundamental principles of magnetic levitation using diamagnetism,with emphasis on its burgeoning applications.The theoretical basis associated with the magnetic levitation using diamagnetism is discussed by elucidating the characteristics of diamagnetic materials,and the key levitation mechanisms are clarified.Afterwards,state-of-the-art applications in various aspects,including sensing and measurement,actuating and micromanipulation,energy harvesting and magnetic gravity compensation,are summarized and compared.Finally,the review concludes with a brief outlook on future perspectives.GAO QiuHua YAN Han ZOU HongXiang LI WenBo PENG ZhiKe MENG Guang ZHANG WenMing 2021Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,1:3
5Development of cryptotanshinone-loaded pellets for angina chronotherapy:In vitro/in vivo prediction and evaluation显示文摘The clinical manifestations of variant angina is unevenly distributed during the 24 h, thusthe in vivo performance of drugs should be tailored according to the angina circadianrhythm. Cryptotanshinone(CTN) is one of the representative bioactive lipid-soluble com-ponents of Danshen which has been commonly used for cardiovascular diseases such asangina pectoris. The aim of this study was to develop a novel CTN sustained-released pel-lets(CTN-SRPs) to precisely synchronize the CTN plasma concentrations with predictedoccurrence of angina pectoris for angina chronotherapy. A deconvolution-based methodwas applied to develop and optimize the CTN-SRPs. The plasma concentration-time curveof CTN immediate-released formulation after oral administration in rats was used as theweight function. The predicted plasma concentration-time curve of CTN-SRPs simulatedaccording to the incidence of variant angina during 24 h was used as the response func-tion. Then the desired drug release profile of CTN-SRPs was calculated based on deconvo-lution using weight function and response function, and subsequently used for guiding theformulation optimization. CTN-SRPs were prepared with the combinations of PVP, polox-amer 127 and EC as matrix using fluidized bed technology. An orthogonal design was em-ployed to obtain the optimal formulation with its release profile similar with the desiredone. Pharmacokinetic studies validated that the actual plasma concentration-time curve ofthese optimized CTN-SRPs was similar with the predicted one. In addition, the percent er-rors(%PE) of CTN plasma concentrations in 8–12 h were less than 10%. 7Calculation of the intracellular elastic modulus based on an atomic force microscope micro-cutting system显示文摘Better understanding of variations in the mechanical properties of cancer cells could help to provide novel solutions for the diagnosis,prevention,and treatment of cancers.We therefore developed a calculation model of the intracellular elastic modulus based on the contact pressure between the silicon tip of an atomic force microscope and the target cells,and cutting depth.Ovarian cells(UACC-1598) and colon cancer cells(NCI-H716) were cut into sequential layers using an atomic force microscope silicon tip.The cutting area on the cells was 8μm×8μm,and the loading force acting on the cells was increased from 17.523 to 32.126μN.The elastic modulus distribution was measured after each cutting process.There were significant differences in contact pressure and cutting depth between different cells under the same loading force,which could be attributed to differences in their intrinsic structures and mechanical properties.The differences between the average elastic modulus and surface elastic modulus for UACC-1598 and NCI-H716 cells were 0.288±0.08 kPa and 0.376±0.16 kPa,respectively.These results demonstrate that this micro-cutting method can be used to measure intracellular mechanical properties,which could in turn provide a more accurate experimental basis for the development of novel methods for the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases.YU Miao WANG JingHe WANG HongXiang LIU Li YAN YongDa ZHANG JunJie LIANG YingChun DONG Shen 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,15:1
8Efficient grain refinement of Al alloys induced by in-situ nanoparticles显示文摘Grain refinement of Al and Al alloys during the solidification remains a long-term challenge.Here we report a general strategy for efficient grain refinement through instantaneously in-situ forming abundant nanoparticles with concentrated size distribution.The Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy and commercial purity Al are respectively refined by using this proposed strategy and the traditional refinement method(adding AlTi-B alloy into Al melt),and the experimental and numerical results indicate that the TiBnanoparticles instantaneously form in the Al melt during the in-situ refinement process.Compared to the traditional refinement treatment method,the new approach not only can promote the high number density of the nucleation sites and narrow their size distribution,but also tremendously attenuates the agglomeration and settlement of the heterogeneous nucleation sites.It exhibits much better grain refinement ability and inhibits the decline of the grain refinement efficiency.This approach may have broad application prospect not only for the grain refinement of Al and Al alloys,but also for the grain refinement of other alloy systems,e.g.steel,magnesium,copper,and so on.Hongxiang Jiang Yan Song Lili Zhang Jie He Shixin Li Jiuzhou Zhao 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,29:1
9Structure-tissue exposure/selectivity relationship(STR) correlates with clinical efficacy/safety显示文摘Drug optimization, which improves drug potency/specificity by structure-activity relationship(SAR) and drug-like properties, is rigorously performed to select drug candidates for clinical trials. However,the current drug optimization may overlook the structure-tissue exposure/selectivity-relationship(STR) in disease-targeted tissues vs. normal tissues, which may mislead the drug candidate selection and impact the balance of clinical efficacy/toxicity. In this study, we investigated the STR in correlation with observed clinical efficacy/toxicity using seven selective estrogen receptor modulators(SERMs) that have similar structures, same molecular target, and similar/different pharmacokinetics. The results showed that drug’s plasma exposure was not correlated with drug’s exposures in the target tissues(tumor, fat pad, bone, uterus),while tissue exposure/selectivity of SERMs was correlated with clinical efficacy/safety. Slight structure modifications of four SERMs did not change drug’s plasma exposure but altered drug’s tissue exposure/selectivity.Seven SERMs with high protein binding showed higher accumulation in tumors compared to surrounding normal tissues, which is likely due to tumor EPR effect of protein-bound drugs. These suggest that STR alters drug’s tissue exposure/selectivity in disease-targeted tissues vs. normal tissues impacting clinical efficacy/toxicity. 10All-fiber generation of arbitrary cylindrical vector beams on the first-order Poincare sphere显示文摘We propose a linear mapping relationship between the polarization of the fundamental mode and the cylindrical vector(CV)modes on the first-order Poincaresphere(FOPS)in fiber.The new method is based on the fourdimensional complex Jones matrices in terms of the linearly polarized mode bases.With our theoretical model,an all-fiber approach to generate arbitrary CV beams on the FOPS is proposed theoretically and verified experimentally.In the experiment,through the combination of a mode converter and a two-segment cascaded few-mode fiber with fixed stresses,it is possible to generate all CV modes on the FOPS by only adjusting the polarization of the fundamental mode.The Stokes parameters of the output light are measured to verify our scheme,which shows good agreement with the theoretical prediction.The method may provide a convenient way to generate CV beams and evolve the polarization states in any path on the FOPS,which is expected to have potential applications in encoding information and quantum computation.LIPENG FENG YAN LI SIHAN WU XUN GUAN CHEN YANG WEIJUN TONG WEI LI JIFANG QIU XIAOBIN HONG YONG ZUO HONGXIANG GUO ERHU CHEN JIAN WU 2020Photonics Research2020,8,8:1
11Assessment of river ecosystem health in Tianjin City,China:index of ecological integrity and water comprehensive pollution approach显示文摘Evaluation of the river ecological environment can provide a basis for river management and ecological restoration.To conduct a comprehensive health assessment of the rivers in Tianjin,their biological,physical,and chemical indicators are investigated on the basis of 32 river monitoring sites from August to September 2018.The comprehensive pollution and ecological integrity indexes of the rivers are analyzed.Results of the two evaluations,compared to achieve the river ecological environment evaluation,are as follows.1)Index of Ecological Integrity evaluation shows that among the sampling points,18.8%are'healthy',28.1%are'sub-healthy',40.6%are'fair',6.3%are'poor',and 6.3%are'very poor'.2)The comprehensive evaluation of the chemical properties of the 32 river ecosystems in Tianjin shows severe overall river pollution and low standard water function area.Of the total sampling sites,16(50%)are heavily contaminated and 10(31.3%)are moderately contaminated.Excessive chemical oxygen demand and ammonia nitrogen are the main causes of water pollution.3)The Index of Ecological Integrity(IEI)has high correspondence with environmental factors.Pearson correlation analysis results show that the IEI index is significantly correlated with permanganate index(R=-0.453;P=0.023<0.05).Analysis results using BEST show that ammonia nitrogen is the best environmental parameter to explain the changes in IEI(R_(ho)=0.154;P=0.02<0.05)and those using RELATE show significant correlation between the biotic index and the environmental parameter matrices(R_(ho)=0.154;P=0.034<0.05).Yan WANG Shang ZHAO Mingdong SUN Xubo LV Wenqian CAI Xiangqin XU Hongxiang GE Kun LEI 2021Frontiers of Earth Science2021,15,4:0
12Migration of paleo-uplift in southwestern Tarim Basin and its implications for orogenesis and reservoir development, NW China显示文摘Based on well horizon calibration,the typical seismic profiles in southwestern Tarim Basin were interpreted systematically,regional geological sections were established,and the regional denudation thickness of each tectonic period was restored.On this basis,the plane morphology maps of ancient structures of the Cambrian pre-salt dolomites in different periods were compiled,and the spatial distribution,development,evolution and migration of paleo-uplift in the late Early Paleozoic were analyzed.In the late Early Paleozoic,there existed a unified regional paleo-uplift widely distributed in southwestern Tarim Basin,which is called the southwestern Tarim plaeo-uplift.The“Tarim SW paleo-uplift”and“Hetian paleo-uplift”proposed in previous literatures are not independent,but the result of the spatio-temporal migration and evolution of the southwestern Tarim paleo-uplift identified in this paper.The southwestern Tarim paleo-uplift emerged at the end of Middle Ordovician,and took its initial shape with increased amplitude in the Late Ordovician.During the Silurian,the southwestern Tarim paleo-uplift rose steadily and expanded rapidly to the east,incorporating Pishan-Hetian and other areas,with the structural high locating in the Pishan-Hetian area.During the Devonian,the southwestern Tarim paleo-uplift began to shrink gradually,to a limited range in the Pishan-Hetian area in the southern part of the basin.During the Carboniferous,the southwestern Tarim paleo-uplift became an underwater uplift,that is,the paleo-uplift gradually died out.The southwestern Tarim paleo-uplift belongs to the forebulge of the southwestern Tarim foreland basin in the late Early Paleozoic,and its formation and evolution are related to the early Paleozoic orogeny of the West Kunlun orogenic belt in the south of the Tarim Basin.The migration of the southwestern Tarim paleo-uplift from the northwestern part of the southwestern Tarim Basin to the Pishan-Hetian area indicates the early Paleozoic orogenic process of the West Kunlun orogenic belt,which started in the western section at the end of Middle Ordovician and extended from west to east in a“scissor”style.The migration and evolution of the southwestern Tarim paleo-uplift controlled the development of unconformities at the end of Middle Ordovician,the end of Late Ordovician,and the end of Middle Devonian,and the spatial distribution of dissolved fracture-cave reservoirs in weathered crust below the unconformities in the southwest of Tarim Basin.The migration of the structural high of the southwestern Tarim paleo-uplift also played an important role in controlling the development of dissolved fracture-cave reservoirs in weathered crust.YAN Jiakai CHEN Hanlin CHENG Xiaogan CHEN Yongquan ZENG Changmin CHEN Cai WU Hongxiang 2023Petroleum Exploration and Development2023,50,1:0
13Unveiling the grain boundary-related effects on the incipient plasticity and dislocation behavior in nanocrystalline CrCoNi medium-entropy alloy显示文摘The incipient plasticity and dislocation behavior in a nanocrystalline(NC)CrCoNi medium-entropy alloy were systematically investigated in terms of pop-in events during instrumental nano-indentation tests.Quantitative statistical analysis and molecular dynamic simulations were performed to reveal the effects of grain boundaries(GBs)on initial stages of plastic deformation.Multiple pop-in events appeared during loading on the NC CrCoNi.The first pop-in that represents the initial yielding was identified to be controlled by dislocation nucleation,which is in sharp contrast to the continuous elastic-plastic transition mediated by GB mechanisms in NC pure metals.This can be attributed to the sluggish kinetics of the chemically complex GBs(CCGBs)in the NC CrCoNi that hinders diffusive GB activities but facilitates dislocation nucleation.Subsequent pop-ins were also found to be closely related to the extra dragging effects imposed by the CCGBs on dislocation propagation in the NC alloy.Moreover,the extremely small grain sizes and the consequent high-volume fraction of GBs in the NC alloy severely restrict the lengths of dislocation source and the radii of dislocation loop,giving rise to a higher critical stress,smaller activation volume and lower pop-in width as compared with its coarse-grained counterpart.These results provide new insights into the onset of nano-plasticity in concentrated multi-principal element alloys.Shuo Sun Yang Yang Chenxu Han Guixun Sun Yan Chen Hongxiang Zong Jiangjiang Hu Shuang Han Xiaozhou Liao Xiangdong Ding Jianshe Lian 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,32:0
14Source of Ore-Forming Fluid and Material in the Baiyun Gold Deposit, Liaoning Province, NE China: Constraints from H-O-S-Pb Isotopes and in-situ Analyses of Au-Bearing Pyrites显示文摘The Baiyun deposit is a large gold deposit at the western end of the Liaoji rift zone in Liaoning Province, which has produced both auriferous quartz-vein type and altered-rock type mineralization. The ore bodies are mainly hosted in schist from the Gaixian Formation of the Liaohe Group. A detailed field geological survey showed that the quartz-vein type gold ore bodies are distributed in the near EW-trending and occur in the extensional tectonic space of schist in the Gaixian Formation, and the altered-rock type gold ore bodies are distributed in the near EW-trending structural belt and occur near in the Gaixian Formation of biotite schist, biotite granulite, marble and the upper footwall of dike. To further elucidate the source of ore-forming fluid and material in the Baiyun gold deposit, the H-O isotopes for quartz, S and Pb isotopes, in-situ trace elements for sulfides from quartz-vein and altered-rock type mineralization were studied. The H-O isotopic δD_(V-SMOW) and δ^(18)O_(H2O) values of the auriferous quartz range were from-88.8‰ to-82.2‰ and-1.95‰ to 4.85‰, respectively, suggests that the ore-forming fluids were mainly magmatic water with minor meteoric water. The distribution ranges of in-situ S isotopic compositions of Au-bearing pyrite in the quartz-vein type and altered-rock type ores were-8.38‰–-10.47‰(with average values of-7.89‰) and 11.38‰– 17.52‰(with average values of 11.55‰), respectively, indicating that the S isotopic compositions of the two ore types were clearly different. The in-situ Pb isotopic ratios changed almost uniformly, which showed that they had the same lead isotopic source. Based on the analysis of S and Pb isotopic compositions, the metallogenic materials in the Baiyun gold deposit were primarily from deep magma, and some wall rock materials may have been mixed in the metallogenic process. Co/Ni diagram shows that most Au-bearing pyrites have magmatic-hydrothermal or sedimentary alteration properties, and Au/As ratios were between 0.001 and 0.828(the average value was 0.07), indicating that the ore-forming fluid in the Baiyun gold deposit may have been deep magma. 15Expression Specificity of Hepatic IGF-1mRNA and Its Correlation with Body Weight During Early Development of Ducks显示文摘Gaoyou and Jinding ducks with different growth rates were selected to conduct the test,and a comparative study was carried out on the expression pattern of liver insulin-like growth factor 1( IGF-1) mRNA and its correlation with body weight in the early embryonic stage and hatching stage. The expression pattern of hepatic IGF-1mRNA of ducks at embryonic ages of 13,17,21,25,27 and 0- 7 days after hatching were monitored by real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR. The results showed that expression of duck hepatic IGF-1 mRNA could be detected at the embryonic age of 13. Body weight and hepatic IGF-1 mRNA expression of ducks both showed an increasing trend during the early development. The expression of hepatic IGF-1 mRNA of Gaoyou ducks at embryonic ages of 13,21 and on the 7thday after hatching was extremely significantly higher than that of Jinding ducks( P < 0. 01),which was consistent with the changes of daily weight gain and absolute growth rate. The changes of daily weight gain and hepatic IGF-1 mRNA expression both showed extremely significant specificity of the breeds and time during the entire observation( P < 0. 01),and which was extremely significantly affected by the interaction of the breeds and time( P < 0. 01). The analysis on breeds and gender manifested that the change of body weight was consistent with that of hepatic IGF-1 mRNA expression,which showed an extremely significant positive correlation( P < 0. 01). 16Enhanced triboelectric output of PDMS-based composite film with bi-material filling and surface patterning显示文摘Triboelectric nanogenerators(TENGs)are highly promising energy-harvesting devices that exhibit considerable potential for use in self-powered wearable electronics.Nano/microfillers and surface microstructure modification have been proposed to improve the triboelectric performance of TENGs.In this work,performance-enhanced flexible polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)was developed through bi-material(reduced graphene oxide/fluorinated ethylene propylene,rGO/FEP)modification and filtrationmembrane-patterned surface microstructure.The rGO/FEP with high charge-inducing and-trapping capabilities can be used as the dielectric-enhanced filler for improving triboelectricity.Ordered micro-dents of 5–50μm are created on the modified PDMS surface with an increased contact area of TENG.Compared with the pure PDMS,the modified PDMS film-based TENG could deliver a substantial enhancement in power density(0.87 mW cm^(-2))by 28 times.Further,the versatility of this device is demonstrated in human activity monitoring and capacitor charging.This work provided a simple,high-tunability,and scalable approach for improving the output performance of TENGs for biomechanical energy-harvesting devices that can be integrated into self-powering wearable electronics.LIU Sheng LIAO SiHua LIU Dan ZHAO Rong ZHOU Teng YAN WenYuan WEI KeXiang ZOU HongXiang ZHAO LinChuan 2023Science China(Technological Sciences)2023,66,10:0
17Mathematical Representation of Partial Organs Growth in Duck Embryos显示文摘In this study,the ontogeny of body and the growth pattern of heart,brain,liver,lung,gizzard,glandular stomach and spleen of duck embryos were measured from embryonic day 2 to embryonic day 26. The results indicated that the organs development trend of absolute growth and relative growth rate were almost synchrony,and both exhibited increase from embryonic day 20 to embryonic day 22. The whole growth intensity was from strong to weak with age increasing. The results of differentiation growth rate and the relative growth coefficient indicated that the brain and heart was premature while gizzard was serotinous; the liver,gizzard,and spleen occupied the dominant position on embryonic days 16,18 and 26.
