Ecological optimization of an irreversible harmonic oscillators Carnot heat engine显示文摘A model of an irreversible quantum Carnot heat engine with heat resistance, internal irreversibility and heat leakage and many non-interacting harmonic oscillators is established in this paper. Based on the quantum master equation and semi-group approach, equations of some important performance parameters, such as power output, efficiency, exergy loss rate and ecological function for the irreversible quantum Carnot heat engine are derived. The optimal ecological performance of the heat engine in the classical limit is analyzed with numerical examples. Effects of internal irreversibility and heat leakage on the ecological performance are discussed. A performance comparison of the quantum heat engine under maximum ecological function and maximum power conditions is also performed.LIU XiaoWei CHEN LinGen WU Feng SUN FengRui 2009Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2009,52,12:16
BubR1 phosphorylates CENP-E as a switch enabling the transition from lateral association to end-on capture of spindle microtubules显示文摘Error-free mitosis depends on accurate chromosome attachment to spindle microtubules, powered congression of those chromosomes, their segregation in anaphase, and assembly of a spindle midzone at mitotic exit. The centromere-associated kinesin motor CENP-E, whose binding partner is BubR1, has been implicated in congression of misaligned chromosomes and the transition from lateral kinetochore-microtubule association to end-on capture. Although previously proposed to be a pseudokinase, here we report the structure of the kinase domain of Drosophila melanogaster BubR1, revealing its folding into a conformation predicted to be catalytically active. BubR1 is shown to be a bona fide kinase whose phosphorylation of CENP-E switches it from a laterally attached microtubule motor to a plus-end microtubule tip tracker. Computational modeling is used to identify bubristatin as a selective BubR1 kinase antagonist that targets the αN1 helix of N-terminal extension and αC helix of the BubR1 kinase domain. Inhibition of CENP-E phosphorylation is shown to prevent proper microtubule capture at kinetochores and, surprisingly, proper assembly of the central spindle at mitotic exit. Thus, BubR1-mediated CENP-E phosphorylation produces a temporal switch that enables transition from lateral to end-on microtubule capture and organization of microtubules into stable midzone arrays.Yuejia Huang Lin Lin Xing Liu Sheng Ye Phil Y. 3Generalized constructal optimization of strip laminar cooling process based on entransy theory显示文摘A strip laminar cooling process is investigated in this paper. Entransy theory and generalized constructal optimization are introduced into the optimization. Total water flow amount(WFA) in the laminar cooling zone(LCZ) and complex function are taken as the constraint and optimization objective, respectively. The entransy dissipation(ED) and maximum temperature different(MTD) of the strip are simultaneously considered in the complex function. WFA distributions of the headers in the LCZ are optimized. The effects of the total WFA, strip thickness and cooling water temperature on the optimal results are analyzed. The optimal cooling scheme is the eleventh cooling mode for the considered total 257 cooling schemes, and the complex function,ED and MTD of the strip are decreased by 11.59%, 5.59% and 17.58% compared with the initial cooling scheme, respectively. The total WFA and strip thickness have the obvious influences on the optimal cooing scheme, but the cooling water temperature has no influence in the parameter analysis range of this paper. The 'generalized optimal construct' derived by minimum complex function shows a compromise between the energy retention and quality of the strip.FENG HuiJun CHEN LinGen LIU Xiong XIE ZhiHui SUN FengRui 2016Science China(Technological Sciences)2016,59,11:7
Design, modeling and experimental investigation of a magnetically modulated rotational energy harvester for low frequency and irregular vibration显示文摘Vibration energy harvesting is a promising approach for sustainable energy generation from ambience to meet the development of self-powered systems. Here,we propose a novel compact non-resonant magnetically modulated rotational energy harvester(MMR-EH)for low frequency and irregular vibration.Through the rational arrangement of multiple magnetic fields in space,a ring route with low potential energy is established.A movable magnet can be non-contact modulated by the magnetic force to move along the ring route under irregular vibration, which is instrumental in electromechanical energy conversion.A dynamic model of the MMR-EH is developed based on the energy method and verified experimentally. The effects of key parameters on the magnetically modulated route are analysed. The simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the MMR-EH can effectively harvest the energy from ultra-low frequency(3 Hz)and irregular vibration. At a reciprocating vibration frequency of 10 Hz and an amplitude of 20 mm,the harvester can produce an average power of 0.29 mW.ZHAO LinChuan ZOU HongXiang GAO QiuHua YAN Ge WU ZhiYuan LIU FengRui WEI KeXiang YANG Bin ZHANG WenMing 2020Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,10:5
LRIF1 interacts with HPla to coordinate accurate chromosome segregation during mitosis显示文摘Heterochromatin protein 1α (HP1α)regulates chromatin specification and plasticity during cell fate decision.Different structural determinants account for HP1α Localization and function during cell division cycle. Our earlier study showed that centromeric Localization of HP1α depends on the epigenetic mark H3K9me3 in interphase, while its centromeric location in mitosis relies on uncharacterized PXVXL-containing factors. Here,we identified a PXVXL-containing protein,Ligand-dependent nuclear receptorinteracting factor 1 (LRIF1),which recruits HPla to the centromere of mitotic chromosomes and its interaction with HP1α is essential for accurate chromosome segregation during mitosis.LRIF1 interacts directly with HPla chromoshadow domain via an evolutionariLy conserved PXVXL motif within its C-terminus.Importantly,the LRIF1-HPla interaction is critical for Aurora B activity in the inner centromere.Mutation of PXVXL motif of LRIF1 Leads to defects in HPla centromere targeting and aberrant chromosome segregation. These findings reveal a previously unrecognized direct Link between LRIF1 and HP1α in centromere plasticity control and illustrate the critical role of LRIF1-HP1α interaction in orchestrating accurate cell division.Saima Akram Fengrui Yang Junying Li Gregory Adams Yingying Liu Xiaoxuan Zhuang Lingluo Chu Xu Liu Nerimah Emmett Winston Thompson McKay Mullen Saravana Muthusamy Wenwen Wang Fei Mo Xing Liu 2018Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2018,10,6:5

Effects of shrub presence and shrub species on ground beetle assemblages (Carabidae,Curculionidae and Tenebrionidae) in a sandy desert, northwestern China显示文摘Shrub presence has an important effect on the structuring of ground beetles in desert ecosystems. In this study, in order to determine how shrubs and different species influence ground beetle assemblages in a sandy desert scrubland dominated by two different shrub species, namely Calligonum mongolicum and Nitraria sphaerocarpa, we sampled the ground beetles using pitfall traps during spring, summer and autumn in 2012. At the community level, the activity density of the ground beetles was shown to be significantly higher under shrubs than in intershrub bare habitats in spring; but an opposite pattern occurred in autumn, suggesting the presence of season-specific shrub effects on the activity density of the ground beetles. Meanwhile, at the trophic group level, the activity density and species richness of predators were significantly greater under shrubs than in intershrub bare habitats in spring, whereas an opposite trend occurred on the activity density in autumn. N. sphaerocarpa shrubs had a positive effect on the activity density of herbivores in the three seasons, and C. mongolicum shrubs had a positive effect on the activity density of detritivores in spring and autumn. At the species level, more Microdera sp. was captured under shrubs than in intershrub bare habitats in spring. During the same time, we also found that C. mongolicum shrubs had a positive effect on Blaps gobiensis in spring, Carabus sp. in autumn, and Tentyria sp. in spring and autumn, and N. sphaerocarpa shrubs had a positive effect on Cyphogenia chinensis, Sternoplax setosa in spring and summer, and Curculionidae sp. 1 in summer and autumn. The study results suggest that shrub presence, shrub species and season variation are important factors for ground beetle assemblages in this desert ecosystem, but the responses of beetles differed among trophic and taxonomic levels.JiLiang LIU WenZhi ZHAO FengRui LI 2015Journal of Arid Land2015,7,1:4
Comparative Analysis of Bilateral Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motors With Different Structures显示文摘Permanent magnet linear synchronous motor(PMLSM)has the advantages of high thrust density and good control accuracy, which can be applied in high-power and high-speed occasions. In this paper, the analytical models are established to obtain the electromagnetic performance for the PMLSMs with dual secondaries and dual primaries. The air-gap flux density and the electromagnetic thrust are also obtained by the finite element model to verify theoretical analysis.Besides,an improved structure is also put forward in order to suppress the thrust fluctuation of the PMLSM.Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of two PMLSMs topologies are listed. These analyses would provide a guide for the design of PMLSMs applied in high-power and high-speed occasions.Fengrui Cui Zhaolong Sun Wei Xu Weichang Zhou Yi Liu 2020CES Transactions on Electrical Machines and Systems2020,4,2:4
The effects of the identity of shrub species on the distribution and diversity of ground arthropods in a sandy desert ecosystem of northwestern China显示文摘Shrub is an important factor on structuring ground arthropod communities in desert ecosystems. In this study, in order to determine how shrubs and their species influence ground arthropod distribution patterns in a sandy desert scrubland dominated by two different shrub species, Calligonum mongolicum and Nitraria sphaerocarpa, the ground arthropods were sampled with pitfall traps during spring, summer and autumn. At the community level, total arthropod abundance was shown to be significantly higher under shrubs than in intershrub bare areas in spring; similar patterns occurred in terms of the richness of arthropod groups in the spring and over three seasons, suggesting season-specific shrub presence effects on arthropod activity. In addition, more arthropods were found under N. sphaerocarpa shrubs than under C. mongolicum shrubs in autumn, suggesting season-specific effects of shrub species of arthropod activity, whereas more arthropods taxa were captured under C. mongolicum than N. sphaerocarpa. At the trophic group level, the abundances of predator and herbivore arthropods were significantly greater under shrubs than in intershrub bare habitats, whereas herbivore arthropods were more abundant under N. sphaerocarpa than C. mongolicum, and an opposite rule was detected for predator arthropods. At the family level, the mean abundances of Carabidae, Curculionidae, Gnaphosidae and Lycosidae were significantly higher in the shrub microhabitats than in the intershrub bare habitat, there was no significant difference between habitats on the mean abundances of Formicidae and Tenebrionidae. The study results suggested that shrub presence and shrub species variation are important determinants of ground arthropod assemblages in this desert ecosystem, but the responses of arthropods differed among trophic and taxonomic groups.JiLiang Liu WenZhi Zhao FengRui Li 2014Research in Cold and Arid Regions2014,6,6:4

Preparation and SO2 Adsorption Behavior of Coconut Shell-Based Activated Carbon via Microwave-Assisted Oxidant Activation显示文摘A series of oxidants supported on coconut shell-based activated carbon(CAC) through microwave irradiation were prepared and characterized using scanning electron microscopy(SEM), N_2 adsorption/desorption analysis, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). The SO_2 adsorption capacities and rates were evaluated by adsorption tests performed in a fixed bed reactor with a simulated flue gas, and the adsorption isotherm models were validated against the experimental results. The findings revealed that the SO_2 adsorption capacity decreased in the following order: MW-K_2Cr_2O_7-CAC > MWKMnO_4-CAC > MW-H_2O_2-CAC > MW-CAC. The SO_2 adsorption capacities and adsorption rates of the samples increased with an increasing oxidizability of the oxidants owing to the increment of mean pore size and oxygen-containing functional groups. In addition, a high initial SO_2 concentration and a low bed temperature could positively affect the SO2 adsorption. Finally, the Langmuir model validated that SO_2 was mainly adsorbed through chemical adsorption on the sample surfaces.Jia Fengrui Li Zhou Wang Engang He Jicheng Dong Hui Liu Guangxin Jian Weiwei 2018China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2018,20,1:3
Acoustic emission characteristics and stress release rate of coal samples in different dynamic destruction time显示文摘Considering the importance of the prediction of rock burst disasters, and in order to grasp the law of acoustic emission(AE) of coal samples in different dynamic destruction time, the SH-II AE monitoring system was adopted to monitor the failure process of coal samples. The study of the change rule of the AE numbers, energy, ‘b' value and spectrum in the micro crack propagation process of the coal samples shows that as dynamic damage time went by, AE presented high-energy counts and the accumulated counts increased during the compression phase. The AE energy and cumulative counts increased during the elastic stage. The AE blank area increased gradually and the blank lines were more and more obvious in the molding stage. The AE counts and energy showed a trend of decrease in the residual damage phase.AE ‘b' values gradually became sparse, and the large scale cracks percentage compared with micro cracks decreased and the degree of damage decreased. The AE frequency spectrum peak went from the residual damage phase to the molding phase, and finally it was nearly stable, besides the bandwidth of the main frequency is gradually narrowed. Also, the frequency peak changed from single peak frequency to bi-peak frequency and to the single peak frequency. Uniaxial compressive strength is more sensitive than the elastic modulus to dynamic damage time.Xiao Fukun Liu Gang Zhang Ze Shen Zhiliang Zhang Fengrui Wang Yifei 2016International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2016,26,6:3
α-Glucosidase immobilization on functionalized Fe_3O_4 magnetic nanoparticles for screening of enzyme inhibitors显示文摘Magnetic nanoparticles(MNPs) are widely used for the immobilization of enzyme owing to the unique properties such as good biocompatibility and rapid separation. Herein, we used Fe_3O_4 magnetic nanoparticles(Fe_3O_4 MNPs) as the carrier core with(3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane(APTES)modification by our approach, in which a-glucosidase was stereoscopically immobilized on the surface of Fe_3O_4 MNPs via covalent binding. The result of immobilization was characterized by scanning electron microscope(SEM) and fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR). Then we optimized some key parameters of the immobilization reaction, including the ratio of MNPs to enzyme, GA concentration, crosslinking time and immobilization time. Moreover, under the optimal conditions, pH tolerance, thermo stability and reusability of the immobilized enzyme were investigated and compared with the free one. In order to evaluate the change of the affinity of the enzyme to its specific substrate after immobilization, the Michaelis-Menten constant(K_m) was also studied. Finally, the immobilized α-glucosidase combining with high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry technique(HPLC-MS/MS) was applied to screen and identify eight inhibitors from Polygonum cuspidatum extract. These results indicated that the established method had the broad prospects for biotechnological applications.Guorong Cheng Junpeng Xing Zifeng Pi Shu Liu Zhiqiang Liu Fengrui Song 2019Chinese Chemical Letters2019,30,3:2
Influence of Cr^(3+) Concentration on SO_2 Removal over TiO_2 Based Multi-walled Carbon Nanotubes显示文摘In this study, titanium dioxide supported by multi-walled carbon nano tubes(MWCNTs/TiO_2) and Cr-doped TiO_2 supported by MWCNTs(MWNTs/Cr-TiO_2) were synthesized by the sol-gel method. The prepared samples were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, the BrunauerEmmett-Teller analysis, and the Raman spectroscopy. The oxidation and efficiency for removal of SO_2 in a simulated flue gas were investigated experimentally in a fixed-bed reactor. The 15% MWCNTs/Cr-Ti02 sample displayed excellent adsorption properties, and a SO_2 removal rate equating to 30.415 1 mg/g from the simulated flue gas containing 2 300 μg/g of SO_2, 8% of 02, and 5% of H20 was achieved under optimal conditions covering a temperature of 333.15 K, and a space velocity of 1 275 h^(-1). The adsorption process was enhanced because Cr doping modified the pore structure and inhibited the grain growth of TiO_2. In addition, the Freundlich and Langmuir models revealed that SO_2 was mainly adsorbed through chemical adsorption on the sample surfaces, and the thermodynamic model analysis indicated that the adsorption was a spontaneous, exothermic, and entropy-reducing process. The adsorption kinetics of SO_2 can be described by the pseudosecond-order kinetic and the Bangham dynamics models. The possible reaction mechanism involved in desulfurization process was also proposed.Yang Yanchun Jia Fengrui Jian Weiwei Zhang Shaopeng Ma Danzhu Liu Guangxin 2019China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2019,21,1:2
Superconducting gap evolution of kagome metal CsV3Sb5 under pressure显示文摘Kagome superconductors AV3Sb5(A=Cs,V,Sb) have served as an ideal platform to unveil the intriguing competitions between charge-density-wave(CDW),superconductivity and possible nontrivial topological states. We report soft point-contact spectroscopy(SPCS) studies on CsV3Sb5under pressure up to 2.5 GPa.Its superconducting transition temperature Tcand gaps for SPCS at pressure P=0.1 GPa suggest the absence of the adverse local strain effect as observed in point-contacts at ambient pressure, while the SPCS-determined Tcunder hydrostatic pressure deviates from the reported double dome feature below 2.5 GPa.Three distinct gap values in CsV3Sb5are proposed to exist through the whole pressure range with 2Δ1/kBTc≤1,2Δ2/kBTc~2.3-3.0 and 2Δ3/kBTc>3.5.The two smaller gaps for 2Δ1/kBTc≤1 and 2Δ2/kBTc~2.3-3.0 are robust under pressure, while there is no trace of the largest gap 2Δ3/kBTc>3.5 for SPCS in the c direction with P≤P1=0.7 GPa and P≥ P2=2.0 GPa and it becomes observable in the pressure range of(P1,P2),suggesting a complex relation between CDW and superconductivity between(P1,P2).Dongting Zhang Chufan Chen Lichang Yin Yan'En Huang Fengrui Shi Yi Liu Xiaofeng Xu Huiqiu Yuan Xin Lu 2023Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2023,66,2:2
In Situ Analysis for Herbal Pieces of Aconitum Plants by Using Direct Analysis in Real Time Mass Spectrometry显示文摘In this study,an extend application was developed to in situ analyze the herbal pieces of Aconitum plants by Direct Analysis in Real Time Mass Spectrometry(DART-MS).Nearly all aconitine-type alkaloids can be desorbed and ionized in this method, including diester diterpenoid aconitines(DDAs),monoester diterpenoid aconitines(MDAs)and some other diterpenoid aconitines. The spectra of in situ analysis for the herbal pieces of aconitum plants are similar with that of their extracts.Radix Aconiti and Radix Aconiti Kusnezoffii can be distinguished from each other by the intensity differences of character fragment ions from MDAs,such as m/z 586,572,and 556.The qualified and unqualified herbal pieces can be also identified by the relative abundances of DDAs.The RSD of the relative abundances of some character ions at m/z 556,586,and 590 were 13.53%,4.03%,and 12.03%,respectively.So this in situ analytical method can identify both the types of Aconitum preparata and their quality. It provides the following advantages in the analysis of Chinese herbs:fast detection without much pretreatment,high-throughput analysis, and reduction of pollution without any organic solvent.Feng Zhou Hongbin Zhu Shu Liu Kang Ma Fengrui Song Zhiqiang Liu 2015Chinese Journal of Chemistry2015,33,2:1

Trace determination and characterization of ginsenosides in rat plasma through magnetic dispersive solid-phase extraction based on core-shell polydopamine-coated magnetic nanoparticles显示文摘Enrichment of trace bioactive constituents and metabolites from complex biological samples is challenging. This study presented a one-pot synthesis of magnetic polydopamine nanoparticles(Fe3O4@-SiO2@PDA NPs)with multiple recognition sites for the magnetic dispersive solid-phase extraction(MDSPE)of ginsenosides from rat plasma treated with white ginseng. The extracted ginsenosides were characterized by combining an ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to a highresolution mass spectrometry with supplemental UNIFI libraries.Response surface methodology was statistically used to optimize the extraction procedure of the ginsenosides. The reusability of Fe3O4@-SiO2@PDA NPs was also examined and the results showed that the recovery rate exceeded 80%after recycling 6 times.Furthermore, the proposed method showed greater enrichment efficiency and could rapidly determine and characterize 23 ginsenoside prototypes and metabolites from plasma. In comparison, conventional methanol method can only detect 8 ginsenosides from the same plasma samples. The proposed approach can provide methodological reference for the trace determination and characterization of different bioactive ingredients and metabolites of traditional Chinese medicines and food.Ningning Zhao Shu Liu Junpeng Xing Zifeng Pi Fengrui Song Zhiqiang Liu 2020Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2020,10,1:1
Uncertainty evaluation for bearing fatigue property of CFRP double-lap,single-bolt joints显示文摘The considerable uncertainty in mechanical properties of composite bolted joints not only prevents advanced composite materials from efficient applications, but also threatens the safety and reliability of the aircraft structures. In this paper, the uncertainty in bearing fatigue properties of a CFRP double-lap,single-bolt joint was evaluated by combing a Progressive Fatigue Damage Model(PFDM)with the interval analysis method. In the PFDM,a residualstrain-based gradual material degradation model and a strain-based fatigue failure criterion were combined with a micromechanics-based sudden material degradation model to predict fatigue properties of the joint.Based on the interval analysis, the key uncertain parameters, which were firstly picked out from eighteen structural parameters of the joint, were described by estimated intervals, and the envelope cases were determined to estimate the lower and upper bounds of fatigue properties of the joint. The predicted results have the same tendency with the experimental results in literatures, which indicates that the PFDM combined with the interval analysis shows potential in efficiently evaluating the fatigue reliability of the complex bolted joints with an adequate accuracy.Meijuan SHAN Fengrui LIU Wen YANG Libin ZHAO Jianyu ZHANG 2022Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2022,35,3:1
