Soil phosphorus bioavailability assessed by XANES and Hedley sequential fractionation technique in a glacier foreland chronosequence in Gongga Mountain, Southwestern China显示文摘The primary productivity of terrestrial ecosystems is influenced by soil phosphorus bioavailability, which depends largely on chemical fractions of phosphorus. The sequential fractionation technique developed by Hedley et al. or its subsequent modification is a well-known method to determine soil phosphorus forms. Hedley sequential fractionation technique separates the phosphorus into fractions based on their different chemical solubilities in extractants with certain chemical properties. Recently, synchrotron-based X-ray absorption near edge structure(XANES) spectroscopy has been employed to measure soil phosphorus species directly and non-invasively. The XANES method provides information concerning local structure and chemical information of target elements at a molecular level. Thus, it can distinguish phosphorus fractions bound by metal oxides or hydroxides(such as Fe, Al, and Ca). In this present work, the phosphorus speciation of topsoil along a glacial foreland chronosequence in Gongga Mountain is determined using these two methods. The changes in soil phosphorus bioavailability along the 120-year-old chronosequence are assessed based on comparisons of the results obtained by these two methods. The results indicate that Hedley sequential fractionation technique shows a greater ability to determine soil bioavailable phosphorus(Resin-P and NaCHO3-P), while XANES is effective in distinguishing phosphorus bound by metal compounds. In the chronosequence, Ca- and Al-bound phosphorus were derived mainly from primary minerals, whose phosphorus contents decreased within 120 years of moraine weathering and soil development. The content of soil bioavailable phosphorus increased rapidly after 30 years since deglaciation. The increasing phosphorus bioavailability promoted the colonizing and primary succession vegetation. | WU YanHong Jrg PRIETZEL ZHOU Jun BING HaiJian LUO Ji YU Dong SUN ShouQin LIANG JianHong SUN HongYang | 2014 | Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,8: | 6
Blue revolution for food security under carbon neutrality: A case from the water-saving and drought-resistance rice显示文摘The increasing concentration of greenhouse gases(GHGs)in Earth's atmosphere leads to global warming, which further causes a series of climate changes and does great harm to both human society and natural ecosystems.Agricultural GHG emissions, mainly in theform of methane(CH4)and nitrous oxide(N2O),areasignificantsourceofGHGs,accountingfor~14%total global GHGs(Zhang et al.,2022).One major source of agricultural GHGs is CH4 emissions from rice paddies, which is responsiblefor~10%-12%ofhuman-inducedCH4emissions(van Groenigen et al.,2013)and contributes~2.40%to the enhanced global warming effect(Zhang et al.,2022).The global warming potential of GHGs emissions from rice systems is roughly four times higher than either wheat or maize(Linquist et al.,2012). | Hui Xia Xianxian Zhang Yi Liu Junguo Bi Xiaosong Ma Anning Zhang Hongyan Liu Liang Chen Sheng Zhou Huan Gao Kai Xu Haibin Wei Guolan Liu Feiming Wang Hongyang Zhao Xingxing Luo Danping Hou Qiaojun Lou Fangjun Feng Liguo Zhou Shoujun Chen Ming Yan Tianfei Li Mingshou Li LeiWang Zaochang Liu Xinqiao Yu HanweiMei Lijun Luo | 2022 | Molecular Plant2022,15,9: | 3
Air-drying changes the distribution of Hedley phosphorus pools in forest soils显示文摘Hedley labile phosphorus(P)pools in soil tend to be several times larger than annual forest requirements, even in highly weathered soils characterized by P limitation. The discrepancy between plant and soil P status could be partly attributable to the frequently adopted air-drying pretreatment that tends to increase soil P solubility. In this study, the effects of air-drying on the distribution of Hedley P fractions were examined using soils collected under 4 forest types at Gongga Mountain, southwestern China. The results showed that the microbial biomass P(Pmic)in the organic horizon decreased markedly after air-drying.The concentrations of Hedley labile P in the air-dried samples were 31%–73%more than those in the field-moist samples.Consequently, the air-drying-induced increments of Hedley labile P pools in the surface soil horizons were 0.8–3.8 times the annual plant P requirements. The organic horizon was more susceptible to the air-drying-induced increases in Hedley labile P than the mineral horizon, probably because of the stronger release of Pmicand disruption of soil organic matter. The quality of P,indexed by the ratio of Hedley labile P to slowly cycling P,shifted in favor of the Hedley labile fractions after air-drying,further revealing that air-drying changed the distribution of Hedley P pools in forest soils. These indicated that the effects of air-drying could not be ignored when interpreting the discrepancy between the P status of plants and the Hedley labile P pools in forest soils. To more efficiently evaluate the P status in forest soils via the Hedley fractionation procedure, the use of field-moist soils is recommended. | Jipeng WANG Yanhong WU Jun ZHOU Haijian BING Hongyang SUN Ji LUO Shengyan PU | 2020 | Pedosphere2020,30,2: | 1

Gold redistribution in Shangmanggang red-clay gold deposit, western Yunnan Province, China显示文摘AFTER the discovery of lateritic gold deposits in the world during the 1980s, many similar oxidized golddeposits have been discovered in southern China since 1989. Because the incomplete lateritization ofthe regolith compared with the laterite, these oxidized gold deposits were called the red-clay type gold deposits by Prof. Tu Guangzhi. The Shangmanggang gold deposit is a typical representative of the red-claytype gold deposit in western Yunnan Province. 1 Geology, climate, and geomorphology The Shangmanggang red-clay gold deposit is located in Luxi region, between Zhefang and LuxiCenozoic basins along the Longling-Runli Fault trending northeast. | 9 | Aristolochic acids exposure was not the main cause of liver tumorigenesis in adulthood显示文摘Aristolochic acids(AAs) have long been considered as a potent carcinogen due to its nephrotoxicity. Aristolochic acid I(AAI) reacts with DNA to form covalent aristolactam(AL)-DNA adducts, leading to subsequent A to T transversion mutation, commonly referred as AA mutational signature. Previous research inferred that AAs were widely implicated in liver cancer throughout Asia. In this study, we explored whether AAs exposure was the main cause of liver cancer in the context of HBV infection in China's Mainland. Totally 1256 liver cancer samples were randomly retrieved from 3 medical centers and a refined bioanalytical method was used to detect AAI-DNA adducts. 5.10% of these samples could be identified as AAI positive exposure. Whole genome sequencing suggested 8.41% of 107 liver cancer patients exhibited the dominant AA mutational signature, indicating a relatively low overall AAI exposure rate. In animal models, long-term administration of AAI barely increased liver tumorigenesis in adult mice, opposite from its tumor-inducing role when subjected to infant mice. Furthermore, AAI induced dose-dependent accumulation of AA-DNA adduct in target organs in adult mice, with the most detected in kidney instead of liver. Taken together, our data indicate that AA exposure was not the major threat of liver cancer in adulthood. | Shuzhen Chen Yaping Dong Xinming Qi Qiqi Cao Tao Luo Zhaofang Bai Huisi He Zhecai Fan Lingyan Xu Guozhen Xing Chunyu Wang Zhichao Jin Zhixuan Li Lei Chen Yishan Zhong Jiao Wang Jia Ge Xiaohe Xiao Xiuwu Bian Wen Wen Jin Ren Hongyang Wang | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,5: | 1

A VGGNet-based correction for satellite altimetry-derived gravity anomalies to improve the accuracy of bathymetry to depths of 6500 m显示文摘Understanding the topographic patterns of the seafloor is a very important part of understanding our planet.Although the science involved in bathymetric surveying has advanced much over the decades, less than 20%of the seafloor has been precisely modeled to date, and there is an urgent need to improve the accuracy and reduce the uncertainty of underwater survey data.In this study,we introduce a pretrained visual geometry group network(VGGNet)method based on deep learning. To apply this method,we input gravity anomaly data derived from ship measurements and satellite altimetry into the model and correct the latter, which has a larger spatial coverage, based on the former, which is considered the true value and is more accurate. After obtaining the corrected high-precision gravity model,it is inverted to the corresponding bathymetric model by applying the gravity-depth correlation. We choose four data pairs collected from different environments,i.e.,the Southern Ocean,Pacific Ocean,Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea,to evaluate the topographic correction results of the model. The experiments show that the coefficient of determination(R~2)reaches 0.834 among the results of the four experimental groups, signifying a high correlation. The standard deviation and normalized root mean square error are also evaluated, and the accuracy of their performance improved by up to 24.2%compared with similar research done in recent years. The evaluation of the R^(2) values at different water depths shows that our model can achieve performance results above 0.90 at certain water depths and can also significantly improve results from mid-water depths when compared to previous research. Finally, the bathymetry corrected by our model is able to show an accuracy improvement level of more than 21%within 1%of the total water depths, which is sufficient to prove that the VGGNet-based method has the ability to perform a gravity-bathymetry correction and achieve outstanding results. | Xiaolun Chen Xiaowen Luo Ziyin Wu Xiaoming Qin Jihong Shang Huajun Xu Bin Li Mingwei Wang Hongyang Wan | 2024 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2024,43,1: | 0
The continental hydrothermal sedimentary origin of the Dashui superlarge gold deposit in Gansu Province, China显示文摘THE Dashui gold mine, situated in Gansu Province of western China, is a superlarge gold deposit newlydiscovered in western Qinling erogenic belt, hosted within the Permian-Triassic limestones and dolomites,as well as Jurassic conglomerates. It has been termed Carlin-type and hot spring-type gold ore, yet its origin is enigmatic. It is characterized by the formation of sedimentary and replacement bodies of hematite-hydrothermalsiliceous rocks above and adjacent to orebodies. The orebodies themselves exhibit a variety of geometries, such as funnels, pipes, sack-like, tabular zones parallel to bedding. NWW-EW striking, nearly SNstriking and NEE-NE striking faults control the ore-fluid passages. The orebody sites and shapes arelargely controlled by the intersection of such different strike faults. The ore mineral assemblage is characteristically gold-hematite-chalcedony. The gold mineralizationand hematitization and silification are closely interrelated. Five basic ore types are recognized: laminated- | LI Hongyang~1, YANG Zhusen~1, GAO Zhenmin~1, LUO Taiyi~1, DING Zhenju~1 and YAN Shenghao~2 1. | 13 | Multimodal channel cancer chemotherapy by 2D functional gadolinium metal-organic framework显示文摘2D nanomaterials generally exhibit enhanced physiochemical and biological functions in biomedical applications due to their high surface-to-volume ratio and surface charge.Conventional cancer chemotherapy based on nanomaterials has been hindered by their low drug loading and poor penetration in tumor tissue. To overcome these difficulties, novel materials systems are urgently needed.Hereby, the lanthanide-based porphyrin metal-organic framework(MOF)nanosheets(NSs)with promising cancer imaging/chemotherapy capacities are fabricated, which display superior performance in the drug loading and tumor tissue penetration. The biodegradable PPF-Gd NSs deliver an ultrahigh drug loading(>1500%)and demonstrate the stable and highly sensitive stimuli-responsive degradation/release for multimodal tumor imaging and cancer chemotherapy.Meanwhile,PPF-Gd NSs also exhibit excellent fluorescence and magnetic resonance imaging capability in vitro and in vivo.Compared to the traditional doxorubicin(DOX)chemotherapy, the in vivo results confirm the evident suppression of the tumor growth by the PPF-Gd/DOX drug delivery system with negligible side effects. This work further supports the potential of lanthanide-based MOF nanomaterials as biodegradable systems to promote the cancer theranostics technology development in the future. | Jiale Xia Yumeng Xue Bo Lei Lingling Xu Mingzi Sun Na Li Hongyang Zhao Min Wang Meng Luo Chao Zhang Bolong Huang Yaping Du Chun-Hua Yan | 2021 | National Science Review2021,8,7: | 0
